• gueordjevap (10/5): Magical place near San Giminiamo - Stayed there for 5 nights, wish I could stay 5 more- this place is a,retreat for the soul, quite, beautiful vistas, many places to seat around and just admire the hills , the pool is the best I've seen recently ,huge,clean and spacious scattered seating amongst olive trees, rooms very clean with all you need . 5 min drive to San Giminiamo and 45 min walk mostly between vines and villas country. The managers are incredibly kinds , caring people , we felt at home. Can't wait to return !

Set deep in the Tuscany country side amongst vineyards,olive groves,poplar trees & lavender. Swallows dip & dive singing to their hearts content. Rooms are well equipped & 10 minute drive to stunning San Gimignano. The pool was stunning & very generous in size.Cleaned & maintained daily.Hardly anyone there,so incredibly tranquil. The family are charming & very friendly. Can’t wait to return.. Highly recommended experience.
• Michael (7/5): Decent stay - We liked the spacious apartment, how clean it was and the kindness of the owners/staff. Parking was very good and spacious. Finally it was a well maintained property set in a beautiful setting. May have been our room but although the property is surrounded by an amazing view due to the lack of balcony we couldn't see it. Also it's not the fault of the property but there is gravel road (4km) to get to the property (there is also a 2km gravel road alternative). This means that if you go by car expect 1) to get very dirty and 2) you get inevitably stone chips. I read also in other review that you can walk to San Gimignano. This is absolutely not true. It takes by car 20mins (mainly due to the gravel road that you need to drive slow not to ruin the car) and possibly an hour or more on foot. If you decide to be adventurous and go on foot note that there is no pedestrian walk once you get to the asphalt section. The fact that the property is remote and breakfast can be provided albeit simple you cannot be spontaneous. Also the swimming pool is at a top of a hill well sized but if you have mobility issues may be a problem. Overall we thought that this property is good but with caveats. We are regulars in San Gimignano and have stayed in several properties that were more convenient location wise plus general set up.

Walking distance on gravel roads from San Gimigniano, also attractive for running. Also easy starting point for other Tuscan highlights. Owners are very welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Large swimming pool, spacious apartments. And delicious home-cooked dinners 3x/week, can’t miss those. Definitely worth returning. Hard to find a flaw; perhaps number of sunbeds around pool and no condiments (salt/pepper) in rooms. But really no dislikes.
• Sanne (10/5): One of the best stays I have ever had. Thank you for your care and warmth. - Absolutely stunning location with amazing views and wonderfully warm and kind hosts. They offer dinner on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays which I highly recommend. They also offer cooking classes which I totally forgot about. A mistake I intend to correct to next time. The apartment we stayed in had great views and comfortable beds. Everything was very clean. We are accustomed to only having coffee in the morning but you'll need to order a simple breakfast (a slice of bread or croissant with jam) a day in advance which may be disappointing depending on how much you value your breakfast in the morning (in our case we didn't care). The only thing I would say could be improved is to upgrade the stoves from electric to induction. It wil require new pans - and normal percolators won't work, but it will safe in electricity and is way more convenient to cook with.

Host’s do a Tuscan dinner that is a must. You wake up to nature with birds chirping. Beautiful area upstairs to sit and drink coffee in the morning and drink vino in the afternoon. I cannot wait to say again.

We had dinner on the terrace one evening and the food was exceptional. I wish we could have stayed longer to have taken the cooking course. The owners were so helpful, and couldn't do more to help make our stay more comfortable. Dining in the restaurant was exciting, not knowing what was going to be presented, and the food was always fresh, local and exceptional and served in a gorgeous space surrounded by regional wines of many ages. Nothing that we didn't like. It was a pleasant walk to San Gimignano. A car is necessary if you want to visit the regions wineries.

The owners are amazing hosts - so friendly and warm and will go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Everything was perfect and we'd go back in a minute!
• George (10/5): A definite come back to Tuscan Holiday - Everything. Firstly, the owners are wonderful and we felt so welcome. We had a self contained apartment which was beautiful and were able to prepare our own meals if needed. During our stay we were also able to have breakfast under the pergola with amazing views of vineyards and neighbouring farms & lucky enough to dine with the hosts on 2 nights, with other guests, once outside again under the pergola and another in their very old cellar. Oh! and there is the pool and surrounding garden area to relax which was frequented daily. Leaving!

Amazing dinner on the terrace with the view of the surrounding vineyards consisting of 4 delicious courses made from local ingredients accompanied by great wine, which the personal kindly helps to select. The older A/C could not keep up with the extreme outside temperatures of around 40° C and did not keep the apartment cool, but we don’t blame the personal for this.

My husband and myself spent an idyllic 9 days at the absolutely charming Il Borghetto in April. Set in the spectacular Tuscan countryside just a few minutes drive from San Gimignano, the villa boasts a truly stunning location - a heavenly place where your senses are just infused with the tranquility, calm and beauty of your surroundings, the scent and colour of gorgeous flowers and lemon trees and only the sounds of the birds singing as you awaken and open the shutters onto the most glorious and breathtaking views of Tuscany. It really is a little piece of heaven! More than this, the family - who lovingly restored the villa to its current splendour of elegant decor and extreme comfort - are just so warm, welcoming and delightful to every guest - you feel as if you are almost a part of the fabric of Il Borghetto during your stay due to their exceptional warmth, kindness, attention to detail and overall care. The home cooked dinners which you can avail of three times a week are absolutely divine - utterly delicious options of 4 courses with an accompanying array of sublime Tuscan wines which you are expertly advised on for choice. There is a gorgeous pool for relaxing and the apartments are truly beautiful with everything you require and the coffee and croissants at breakfast were always delicious. The beautiful villa is set in a fantastically quiet location but also an ideal base from which to visit and explore many of the neighbouring towns and cities such as Florence, Siena, Montepulciano, Volterra, San Gimignano and many more and the stunning coastline is only just over an hour's drive away also. Il Borghetto is THE perfect holiday destination to relax, unwind and just "be" - not to mention the welcome invasion on your senses of spectacular views, the finest of Tuscan hospitality and culture and the food which is simply wonderful. All of the accomodation is lovely and clean, the pool is well kept/cleaned every day. Simona, Sandra, Nicola and Riccardo run everything to such a high standard. They are incredibly welcoming and can't do enough for you. They cook 3 times a week, and if they cook, you stay there and eat as the food is incredible. We will keep returning every year as it is the most relaxing place to holiday and have recommended to all our family and friends.

If you complain after you stay here, you are just not a happy person. The views are picture perfect. the pool is a delight. The delicious-mouthwatering- served as if royalty meals were fist class. Every review in this thread is spot on with praise. They will do anything they can for you. Very few go that extra mile these days. The comfort of each suite is all you need to feel as if you lived among the Tuscan Hills your whole life. Just swinging open those shutters in the morning. It will be the time of your life and please bring the family and friends. Just the place. Happy Hour Antipasto each evening on each others terrace or anywhere else on the property. The property also offers solitude if you like that at times. Eat outside. Eat inside. have breakfast on the terrace. Don't walk- run to this amazing Tuscan holiday. Very accessible to smaller villages in Tuscany. A "they have it all" supermarket down the road. I trust you will be running back and forth for the burrata, prosciutto, melon and Parmeson Reggiano. You will not be disappointed.

The family could not have been better and they also were helpful in getting us dinner reservations in San Gimignano. We also took a cooking class which was so fun and we learned alot. The villa also offered 3 dinners per week which is a must. Can't say enough good things about ll Borghetto!
• patriciaM10179 (10/5): Lovely Villa - Il Borghetto was beyond my expectations. A magical villa where the views are stunning and the people running it felt like family by the time we left. Whatever our needs were, they were right there to cheerfully accommodate. The rooms were charming and clean, all with their own personalities. The dinners were delicious and presented in a lovely fashion, served on a patio with views of the valley and vineyards. I will definitely return to this villa if we are in the area again.

You couldn't hope to stay in a dreamier place that provides some of the best views of the Tuscan hills, warm hospitality from the owners, wonderful food at the restaurant and a lovely pool which is large enough to swim and do lengths. No plunge pool masquerading as swimming! It felt like I was visiting friends and immediately felt at home. Returned to England feeling totally zen. Nothing to fault.

• LizzyNB (10/5): A Very Special Place For A Beautiful Holiday - My husband and I have just returned from an incredibly magical and memorable week at Il Borghetto. We can’t explain how unbelievably kind and welcoming the family who own Il Borghetto are - Sandra, Simone, Nicola and Ricardo are so friendly and hardworking. They do everything in their power to ensure that you have an amazing experience whilst you are there on holiday with them. The setting is simply stunning, with spectacular views across the Tuscan countryside. They have created so many different spaces in the grounds for you to relax and enjoy the ambiance to rest, read or to just listen to the sound of nature. The pool is wonderful, just the perfect temperature, so clean with many seating options to either sit in the sun, under the shade of big umbrellas or in the beautiful orchard of olive trees. We loved the landscaping surrounding the pool especially the use of aromatic rosemary and lavender. Perhaps the most special moments of our holiday at Il Borghetto were the incredible dining experiences which we were so fortunate to be able to enjoy. The family cook the most delicious four course meals (or fewer if you prefer) three nights of the week - you must book! We couldn’t believe how much love and care had gone into choosing seasonal ingredients to create such varied and mouthwatering traditional recipes. We also enjoyed the fantastic local wines to compliment each meal - the family are very knowledgeable about each wine to help you decide. The beautiful setting of perfectly laid tables under the canopy of light-filled trees, clear, star-filled skies, listening to soft music … these are moments we will never ever forget. The splendid accommodation at Il Borghetto ensured that we got a good balance of sightseeing and relaxing. We had hired a car at the airport and enjoyed several trips to the picturesque hill-top villages and towns all found within 30 minutes of the property. We really were very sad to leave this beautiful place and hope very much to return in the near future. Thank you so very much to all the Bimbi family for making our holiday so beautiful xx
• Andra-cezara (10/5): Your Tuscan dream place. - Beautiful place, incredible views and great location (very close to San Gimignano but comfortably away from the tourist crowds). Very friendly staff. Very spacious room too and tastefully decorated. The pool was great. Overall, really good value for money and felt like a v special place. an open bar where we could get sodas / drinks or coffee during the day for the pool.

• michaelbB6281VO (10/5): Ideal Place to Stay !! - My wife and I had the privilege of visiting with Simona, Sandra, Nicolo and Ricardo for 8 days in early June. It was a SPECTACULAR visit! First of all, the setting is idyllic. The first day. I went for a walk down the road, I got so lost in the sheer beauty, the absolute QUIET and the wonderful ambiance that I walked right past the turn-off back to the B&B on my way back. Didn't even notice that for another 1/2 mile, the walk was just that relaxing and enjoyable. Then there are the dinners they offer. Four course meals made FRESH with everything coming out of the garden that day and prepared brilliantly. With a wine selection to suit any taste. They only offer them 4 times a week, but you should take advantage of every one! And finally, they are simply NICE PEOPLE. We enjoyed our stay...the banter with them each morning was always a delight. They are very helpful in arranging local visits and tours if you wish as well. Just cannot say enough about this superb operation.
• margotk329 (10/5): A visit to paradise - A visit to Tuscany has been a family dream for some time. Never did we imagine we would find a place so idyllic and welcoming as is Il Borghetto! Simona, Sandra, Nicola and Ricardo have created a welcoming beautiful villa surrounded by gently undulating hills, vineyards and olive groves. They welcome their guests with open arms and make all feel like you have joined their family. The restaurant opens three times a week offers fabulous meals and a cooking lesson in the Il Borghetto kitchen is a great experience too! Can’t wait to make Picci and Gnocchi when I get home to Sydney. The villa is ideally situated with easy access to San Gimignano and surrounds, many other gorgeous Tuscan towns, Chianti wine region and only 50 minutes from Florence. If you are headed to Tuscany don’t miss out on this truly beautiful place and family.

Serene setting close to the tourist sights but somewhere to escape to with the added bonus of a pool in the w - Charming villa set in the beautiful Tuscan landscape run by amazing hosts! Exceptionally clean and well presented apartments with great facilities if you want to cook yourself. The swimming pool is refreshing on a warm day and the home cooked dinner which is offered on some nights is an absolute must. It’s a short drive along a gravel road to San Gimignano which can be a little dusty in the warmer months however the views are exceptional. We would definitely stay here again.

The scenery seemed to be something out of a movie, the family that manages and runs the property is so lovely, warm and friendly. • X3428TMstepheng (10/5): Wonderful Stay at il Borghetto Tuscan Holidays - Our family of 6 adults stayed at il Borghetto for 6 nights and enjoyed our time there immensely. The family owners of the villa were exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. The accommodations were excellent, and the property was very well-maintained. We particularly enjoyed the delicious Tuscan meals and wine served in il Borghetto's cozy restaurant, and the cooking class with our family was so much fun. The location of il Borghetto close to San Gimignano, Siena, Florence and other hill towns in Tuscany was great. We were able to use the services of an excellent tour guide with a large van for 2 days to visit Florence and the Chianti wine region which made those days stress free.

They serve three dinners weekly and the food and wine are wonderful. Recommend taking the cooking class and you can eat the meal prepared in the garden. You can easily take day trips to nearby towns and the views are unmatched. Can’t wait to go back!

• Craig (10/5): A beautiful location with special hosts. - The ideal location to take in the tranquillity of Tuscany but also see the major cities in the Tuscan area. The villa is beautiful and an early morning swim was a refreshing way to start each day. The true gem of this property is the family that own it, they welcomed us with smiles and hugs, and truly made us feel like we were home. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in San Gimignano. Nothing!

• Mobile61775608416 (10/5): A Treasure in Tuscany. - Il Borghetto Since 2007 I have stayed at Il Borghetto 4 times for a total of just over 8 weeks. What a great place to stay in Tuscany. Spacious Tuscan style apartments, beautiful views of vineyards and Olive groves, just minutes from San Gimingnano and only 40 k from Florence. A near perfect location. The owners Sandra & Nicola, Simona & Ricardo are wonderful. Friendly, gracious, accommodating. They just make your stay so much better. And the food. 3 nights a week Mama and her staff serve up outstanding Tuscan 4 course dinners. Not to be missed. I enthusiastically recommend Il Borghetto if you are visiting Tuscany.

Its location near San Giminiano makes it perfect to visit all villages in Tuscany but what makes it special is the owners. We can’t say enough about them 4. They were wonderful in making our stay memorable. Our apartment was very pretty and well stocked with everything we needed and more. The patio was perfect for a glass of wine and munchies after a long day of exploring. If you stay we highly recommend staying for dinner on nights when it’s available. The 3 meals we had are amongst our best memories of our 2 weeks stay in Italy. Amazing home cook meals that you will not find in any restaurants + the great advice and stories from Nicola when it comes to choosing your wine. We are looking forward to come back!

Location was fantastic with San Gimignano just a 5 min drive away, the accommodation spectacular, a real slice of Tuscany history and architecture, not to mention spacious, quiet and clean. Our hosts, Simona, Sandra, Nicola, Riccardo were warm, charming, shared lovely stories and made the best Aperol Spritz in all of Italy! Some of our best evenings in Italy were when we sampled the wonderful local dishes and wine at their resturant while overlooking the rolling Tuscany hills, simply stunning. We and our two daughters did not want to leave. A fabulous experience and great value.

• Brian (10/5): Exceptional - My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The staff here are incredible. It's a family run business, and the family are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Our "room" was really several rooms (very large) with all the necessary amenities for a five night stay. It doesn't have all the trappings of a typical hotel (e.g., room service, towel replenishment, etc.), but we did not really need any of that during our stay. You can arrange for a small breakfast in the mornings, and they serve a delicious dinner three evenings a week (all for an additional fee of course). Again, the family are very nice about giving travel advice around the region and were lovely all-around. We had a great honeymoon!

Beautiful property and pool, super friendly staff and the best location near the town of San Gimignano. Would absolutely recommend and would come back in a heartbeat 💓 plus their dinners on site are incredible with stunning views.
• Juan (10/5): Great owners and staff. Great place to unwind, yet you are only 5 mins from San Gimignano by car. - Staff was wonderful. Simona gave us great tips on where to visit to get the most out of our trip. Many persons there were repeat customers who have been coming for +10 years. It is quite and slow paced, just the perfect place to unwind and meet nice people. Windows/doors in our room did not have screens which meant you could not open them due to the mosquitos. This is not an issue when you visit in the summer since they have AC in the rooms. But we like the fresh air and the nights in early September offered perfect sleeping weather. Next time we will bring a king sized, no opening mosquito net. Most rooms have large wood beams that allow you to loop a long lanyard with a hook to hang a net.

It's a piece of Tuscany as we have imagined and seen on moves where we managed to relax perfectly :) Our room was an amazing and very spacious apartment, which was very comfortable for our 3 day stay. The hotel is owned by a lovely and very friendly family, who meet the guests, serve breakfast and 3 times per week cook delicious dinners.
