• Tristin (10/5): - Great location right on the shore with private lake access. Clean and tidy, great amenities. Breakfast was fantastic with fully cooked or continental style. Catherine was very hospitable, offered tea/coffee/beer on arrival, showed us some recommended sites and places to eat while we were there. Can’t wait to come back!
• David (10/5): Exceptional breakfast and great presentation - We were greeted with a cup of coffee and maps and brochures of things to do and see. Our hosts took time to tell us about the area and things to do. The bed was very comfortable and the room was freshened up each day with clean towels. Excellent service. A choice of three breakfast types was offered and all were very good. You don’t leave feeling hungry that’s for sure. The lighting was a little dim , for us anyway, but other than that it was great.
• Marion (9/5): Very welcoming hosts - The hosts (Roger and Catherine) were extremely attentive, from the welcome drinks and snacks on arrival to providing lots of information on what to do in the area. The room was spacious and comfortable with a sofa and patio overlooking their garden. A lovely home-made breakfast with 3 choices was served in their house with views across the lake. Use of the main terrace with lake views was allowed with swimming and use of the kayak also available. The house was on the outskirts of Rotorua so it was quite a long walk into Rotorua town centre, but parking was plentiful there.

• Ken (10/5): A spot of paradise on the lake - Roger and Cat were incredibly generous hosts. They provide wonderful facilities, and the breakfast options were not only generous portions but were delicious and provided in their home. The accommodation was spotless, bed - perfect, shower was 12 out of 10. There is access to a private beach on the lake, which was right at the back door, and they provided us with lots of options for free things to do in Rotorua. We will definitely stay here again (if we can get in as it's a very good option for visitors to stay). They helped make our stay in Rotorua one that we will never forget, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Simply, brilliant.
• Christiane (10/5): - Very friendly hosts that invited us into their home for a cup of tea when we arrived and provided a lot of good informations for activites in the area (visit the nightmarket in the city on thursdays). Well equiped clean room. Breakfast was very tasty (both british and asian option). You can reach most activites from there in half an hour or less by car. Good takeout food in walking distance.

They also have a very friendly cat! Extremely, extremely minor issue was that myself and the other guests had 2 large cars so parking was a bit tight but still workable :)
• Sabine (9/5): Heimeliges B&B direkt am See - Heimeliges B&B an idyllischer, ruhiger Lage direkt am See. Das Zentrum von Rotorua ist in ca. 5 Autominuten schnell zu erreichen. Das frisch zubereitete Frühstück war sehr grosszügig und vielfältig. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr hilfsbereit und ihre Empfehlungen für Tagesausflüge und Aktivitäten sehr nützlich.
• Peter (10/5): In jeder Hinsicht empfehlenswert. - Zuvorkommende, persönliche Ansprache durch die Wirtsleute, ein kompaktes Appartment, das keine Wünache offen lässt und ein Meh-Frühstück, das den ganzen Tag anhält. Leider waren wir während zweier Regentage dort, sodass wir den Strand und die Kajaks nicht nutzen konnten.

Every detail is covered, from a warm welcome and chat with Catherine to all the little things that make a stay special- welcome drink, coffee or tea selection in room, little chocolates, makeup removal wipes and even a little safe in the room. Breakfast was superb both days we were there. The view from the breakfast table is amazing. Would highly recommend! Nothing!

The breakfast options were delicious and a very nice change from the typical bland continental style. The room was extremely neat and clean and we truly enjoyed walking out each morning and seeing the coy pond and the lake front. What a special place to call home for the owners. We had just arrived in NZ and were still acclimating to the different driving. So, the parking space was an opportunity to practice before heading out to experience New Zealand’s unique roads and parking.

The room is impeccably clean, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast rich and delicious. The host and hostess recommended some interesting places and gave us a glimpse of the local life. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place to anyone.

The sofabed (2nd bed) is starting to show its age and was becoming less comfortable. The driveway and parking options might small/narrow if you have a larger car.

There were biting bugs we think attracted by the pond. Got woken up by noise of heavy rain on the roof. Heated towel rail would be good as towels were still damp on day 2 & hosts don’t change towels during stay.

The Asian breakfast was delicious. I got to enjoy an hour of kayaking on their beautiful lake. The location is ideal and close to everything. Wish we could stay longer.

Loved that we could use the double kayak. The only natural light was from the French doors coming in so it felt a bit dark when closing the blinds for privacy, but this is just the layout of the building.

The fold out bed was not good for my back I have a bad back thought the room had 2 proper beds. Suggest for an adult the fold out bed needs a foam mattress added on top felt the wooden rails uncomfortable. Disappointed with the bed.

• Sarada (10/5): A wonderfully cozy B&B with attentive hosts and delicious breakfast options - Roger warmly welcomed us to their charming family home, offering a cup of tea (or other drinks) upon arrival, which was a lovely touch. He also let me choose our breakfast—Asian, English, or Continental—and select a convenient serving time. Catherine kindly showed us to our room next door and assisted with our luggage, making us feel right at home. The B&B is a cosy, comfortable place to stay, maintained to a high hotel standard with beautifully kept rooms. The hosts were exceptional, and the breakfast was fantastic with a stunning lake view. Highly recommend this delightful B&B for a warm and welcoming experience! A small tip: close the door quickly to keep insects out!

Well-planned room has comfortable bed, sitting area, hot drinks facilities and mini fridge plus a little terrace for fine weather. Beautiful lake views from dining room and private beach. Roger kindly drove us to and from bus station, and to town. Taxis also plentiful and good prices. As well as local recommendations, Katz even gave us advice for Auckland. All good, except the weather!

• David (8/5): We loved our stay and would certainly recommend!!! - Catherine and Roger went all out to make our stay great, the breakfasts were amazing and filling, the view from the back deck is gorgeous. It was super quiet being set away from the hectic downtown in a nice neighborhood. Our hosts were very engaging and informative. We had emailed the day before that we were planning on being there for 3:00 check in and we didn't hear back. We had 4:15 reservations for an event that we had to drive to. After a day of hiking, we were hoping to clean up before heading out. The room wasn't ready when we arrived. That said, they bent over backwards to make sure we made our reservation as we waited with drinks, snacks and conversation on the back deck overlooking the lake. All worked out!!!

• David (10/5): Comfort in Rotorua. - The view from the breakfast table across the lake was unforgettable. The room is very comfortable and clean and nicely furnished. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and accommodating and provided early breakfast at the room.one day when we were away before 8am. They also had lots of suggestions for things to do nearby. The location is very convenient with good access to the main roads and the back garden goes down to the lake.

They gave us an excellent overview of the area and a good recommendation for dinner. The breakfasts the following two mornings were amazing and we enjoyed chatting with our hosts and the other guests. Our experience with them was the best we've had in the 4 weeks we've been in New Zealand.

• David (9/5): Great place to get away - Great location. Good breakfast. Very friendly hosts. Very nice room with everything we needed. Bonus to be able to charge our electric hire car one night. Parking a bit tight if both rooms' guests have large SUVs, but a minor point.
• Judith (10/5): Fantastic place on the lake - Roger and Kat made out stay incredible. They are the ultimate hosts. Fantastic breakfast. The room is large and very comfortable. They gave us great information of places to see and eat. We will definitely stay here again. Eat Streat is a great location downtown with multiple options. Hennesseys is great Irish bar downtown.
• Simon (3/5): A run down B&B not great - Nothing Area full of large swarms of small flys. Room is old and run down. Parking area is tiny and bushes overgrown. Host insists on showing us every detail of a room including the location of the magazines. Made to order breakfast the night before despite only 4 people staying. Really old fashioned not for us, we booked for 2 nights and left after 1.
• Hilary (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely welcoming bed and breakfast, incredible food, Cat is an exceptionally welcoming and thoughtful host. Beautiful location on the lake. Outside Rotorua proper, but a quick and easy drive into the centre.
• Kerrie (10/5): Very clean, great breakfast, kind owners - Very comfortable bed and beautiful property. The view of the lake from the breakfast eating area in the main house is gorgeous. Cat makes an excellent breakfast, while she and Roger took great care of us. The accommodation is spotless! Nothing
• Richliv (8/5): Very good - Comfy room, great breakfast, friendly hosts. They also helped me get some marks off my rental car which was super helpful. View from our room of the unit under construction, not totally ideal ;-) but not really that disruptive either.
• Nicholas (8/5): Great pleasant Stay - - Price: Moderate @ €125/night - Very practical room (incl. furniture) and breakfast setup - Very friendly and helpful hosts. Organised. - Everything working and well-kept - Cleanliness: Very good - Security: Quite Good - Access is easy (Ground Level) - Very Good & Secured WiFi - Full Payment well ahead of stay. - Furniture looks slightly old could do with a revamp. - Parking access quite tedious to access and to get out of. - Accomodation's name same colour as wall (not easily visible at all :D haha)
• Simon (9/5): Superb - A lovely bed and breakfast hosted by a nice family who gave us excellent advice for local things to do and places to eat. The breakfasts that they prepared for us were great and the room was very comfortable, if not the largest. The breakfast area had a beautiful view of the lake and was in a convenient enough location, that the town centre was a short drive away. Recommended for a long, relaxing stay in Rotorua. Cat was also nice to meet, but beware if you have allergies. Property is difficult to find, with the sign on the street dark and difficult to see, especially at night. The room was not the largest. If you're an early morning person, your schedule might not match with the hosts, but these are all minor things.
• Beverley (10/5): Excellent stay, exveptionally friendly hosts. Good location, perfect for our two night stay in Rotorua. - The hosts were very nice and very friendly. The rooms were excellent and the view from the breakfast room was fantastic, overlooking Lake Rotorua. Beds were comfortable and I liked the heated lamps in the bathroom.

• Angela (8/5): Lovely stay in roturua - Lovely clean and spacious room. Good breakfast and lovely hosts. We would have preferred to be more central in the town. Although the lake view is fabulous from the main house, you don’t see it from the guest room.
