Our recent stay in Salerno, unfortunately, didn't quite meet our expectations.
Breakfast: 2/5 Stars - Minimal Offerings
The breakfast provided was quite basic, primarily consisting of pre-packaged bread, jam, coffee, tea and yogurt. For a "bed and breakfast," we had anticipated a more substantial and varied selection, and this felt more like a very simple continental option.
Location: 1/5 Stars - Remote and Inconvenient
The property's location proved to be a significant challenge. It's quite a distance from the main center of Salerno. While there is a bus service, it was very unclear and challenging to use it to get around making it difficult to explore the city efficiently.
Amenities & Comfort: 2/5 Stars - Essential Amenities Lacking
Several aspects of our stay impacted our comfort. We were asked to turn off the air conditioning whenever we left the room, which meant returning to a warm room. More importantly, we consistently experienced a lack of hot water during our stay, which was a fundamental issue. Owner did mention after our departure that it seemed they had issues with their water heater.
Service: 4/5 the owner was very nice although we had a language barrier she tried her best and communicated quickly when we had a questions or an issue. Other than that it is a cozy place with a unique personality & decoration.
- Zsofia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Celine (10/5): Exceptional - The host was friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice, with plenty of coffee options!
- Iwona (10/5): Incredible, cordial atmosphere, you can feel like in the real house - Cozy room, a big space for eating, breakfast available, three types of coffee machines, fridge , individual bathroom, welcoming, familial atmosphere and opened approach to the guests. You can admire beautiful paintings on the house walls😊. I was picked up from the station by the owners which was a great help after a long journey 👍
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- T. (6/5): Pleasant - Hospitality of the staff was great. The internet connection was pretty good. The breakfast can be developed with some sugar free elements like cheese and olive.
The room could be a little cleaner.
- Tomeo (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was amazing, he was very nice and friendly and went above and beyond in assisting me as a guest!
- William (7/5): Good -
- Vasyl (8/5): Very good - The owner was very helpful.
He picked me up from the train station. Also he explained about transport facilities, location of the nearest cafe and generally was very kind.
- Takahiro (10/5): The staff was incredibly good !! I was very lucky to have chosen this hotel -
- Solalinde (10/5): Great place, with a lot of hospitality I really recommend B&B and I'm sure you are going to have a great stay he - Is a good place, so quiet and nice.
- Mark (10/5): Loved this place… - Loved this place. One of the most pleasant environments courtesy of the owners who were beyond helpful. Lovely room and great breakfast- thank you
- David (5/5): Too much walking & expensive taxi fares - Breakfast & location were poor.
- Monvids (9/5): It was great and memorable experience - Pasquale Mastrangelo is a wonderful host. Very helpful and gave a lot of good tips: what to see and where to eat.
- Isabelle (8/5): Great place to stay just outside Salerno - Great homestay with everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and neat. The location is outside Salerno proper so you will need to take a bus or drive. Parking was available too. A great option on a budget. Nothing.
- William (10/5): - Loved the Artwork created by the owner. The Continental breakfast was great.
- Sophia (9/5): Superb - The host was incredibly lovely and accomodating.
- Decandiaandrea (4/5): 1 night ok, no more then one - the location has not reached the sufficiency, I expected a better view and above all a nice room but instead the room is small and with evident signs of wear and inadequate maintenance.
It can be fine as a base for one night, but nothing more.
It would take a good renovation and a global modernization.
I would not book this property for a holiday. the quality of the room,
- Oleganis (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy and comfortable place to stay. In the evenings it is quiet and calm. In the morning a good and delicious breakfast. The owner is the nicest and kindest person I have ever met, and he also has cool paintings that will definitely remain in memory Internet speed could be a little higher
- Kh19599 (10/5): Exceptional - It was an amazing experience to say there.
- Qian (10/5): Good view, cleaning - The owner is so nice, when I has a problem to print my bus ticket. He asked his friend to print out, since his printer is broken. Also he drive me to the bus station in the early morning when it’s raining. Thank you!
- Sonja (7/5): Good - great host, it's possible to have tea or coffee at any time, good price something fresh for breakfast would be nice like fruits or vegetables, also fresh bread. Furthermore less plastic (glasses etc.) would be nice to create less waste
- Ron (8/5): Very good - nice old place, family home hard to find, needs some signs
- Prospero (8/5): Carino e tranquillo - B&B sulle colline a pochi chilometri dal centro. Posto rilassante e tranquillo ideale per riprendersi dal caos di Salerno
- Terry H (8/5): I enjoyed my stay here - I booked last minute and it was good to get this place owner is a local. Artist and some of his work is on display
