• Jana (10/5): Lovely cottage stay in McGregor - The communication from the cottage owner was excellent and always very clear. The cottage is very well equipped and has two bathrooms which is helpful when two people are getting ready for sport early in the morning. It was a very cold weekend but the bedroom was well heated, there were more than enough blankets to keep us warm and we had the fireplace going at times, which made the space really cosy. We felt safe and were also happy that we could walk from the cottage to coffee shops in the town. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer :)

• Sharon (10/5): Overnight stay - Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Absolutely lovely gardens, cutest cottage and even a plunge pool to beat the hot McGregor heat. Fantastic security and just EVERYTHING you need for a comfortable stay. Wish we had stayed an extra night.

• Marina (10/5): Lovely setting - I liked the setting of the cottage on a historical property with seven other cottages /homes. It was cold but the cottage had a fireplace, a heater and an electric blanket. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a big fridge (which is not in the bedroom). It was comfortable and clean.
• Triveno (9/5): As it was our second time at the Orchard Cottage, we will be back in a couple of years. - I love the location. The outdoor area is very spacious and the kids loved being outside. We had a braai almost every night. We love the two bathrooms. Perfect for the family. The fireplace is also a great feature since we love this cottage during the winter. Shops are in walking distance if you need milk or anything. For a self-catering place we were provided with enough coffee and tea for days. And it was the good stuff.

We were in McGregor for an event, the cottage was situated 400m from the main hub of the town, so close to everything but far enough away for peace and quiet. Petro was extremely accommodating letting us check out a little later so we could do our event and then pack up afterwards so we didn't have to rush in the morning. A lovely bottle of wine and rusks, with spoils on our pillows as well. Very kind gesture and very appreciated. We will be back for sure

We also liked the outdoor fire place in the middle of the garden where you can sit and relax under the stars with the fire going. The furnishings were lovely and we enjoyed the splash pool. I lovely place to get away in summer or winter.

• Jose (6/5): Pleasant - The chlorine is too strong for the pool but the pool is a great feature of the accommodation. The cottage is not clean enough with big cockroaches running around inside and even on our heads while sleeping and in the bedding.

Very tranquil and perfect for a relaxing getaway! Although this is not something the guest house can control, we were hassled entering and exiting the property by beggers a few times. We felt completely safe once inside the property but it's just something guests should be aware of.

Great welcome gifts and fresh flowers, we really appreciated them. We didn’t use the splash pool but it’s a nice addition. A couple of comfortable outside chairs and maybe an umbrella so we could have sat outside in the sunshine. Maybe a file with emergency numbers and local restaurants in would have been welcome.

It was perfect to hole up in and read while it rained. There was also great communication from the owner before and during the stay. The area/surrounds turned out to be very noisy and slightly run down.
