- Annika (10/5): Home away from home. - Big traditional room with everything you need and an ocean view. Friendly staff, onsen with sauna and much more. Would recommend Uminone to everyone.
- Kaisei (10/5): -

- Marta Silva (10/5): - Very nice hotel by the sea side. The room had an amazing view of the small bay in front.
The service is fantastic, and the meals were very good.
The hotel onsen was very nice.
- paolo (7/5): - personale gentile.

Nichts
- Marine (10/5): - The room was beautiful, with a sea view!
Both break first and dinner was excellent
Onsen so great and they do free pick up for the train station
I would recommend and come back! Nothing

- Peter (9/5): Lovely quiet town and scenic bay. Staff were very friendly and accommodating - Lovely setting and view of the beach. A long walk to rail station, but the staff did shuttle us, no big issues
- chizuru (9/5): -

- Marissa (10/5): We had a relaxing stay with beautiful scenery and excellent service. - We had a very relaxing stay at Uminone. We shared a room with five people and were comfortable with the space. It was very clean with a large bedroom and a big living space where they put three floor futons. The view of the water was nice and the air conditioning kept us cool on very hot days. The staff was excellent, so attentive and helpful with any of our needs. The food was yummy, our favorite meal was the BBQ outside overlooking the water. We wanted some time to relax in between visiting the popular cities of Japan and this was the perfect spot to do it. The beach area is clean and surrounded by mountains and there are some hikes you can do as well. The town is a bit sleepy but we wanted the down time so it was great. Nothing
- Amber (9/5): Amazing hidden gem, graze on snow crab and prawns while you look out at the sea. - Beautiful location, ocean views from our room 😊
Staff were lovely, food was excellent. Our room was spacious too. There was nowhere to change our babies.
- Sarah (9/5): Totally unforgettable place to stay on the wild north coast - Superb location, very special meals, excellent service. Can’t thing of anything!
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location almost on the beach. Woke up to amazing views from our window. Large roomy room. A little out of town but they were more than happy to pick us up and drop us.
The name means ocean sounds which soothed us to sleep.
Nice onsens on site.
Would highly recommend.
- Tahnee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tan (8/5): Very good - Characterful room, lovely sea view, wonderful staff, easy to find, easy parking. For me, sitting and sleeping on the floor was quite uncomfortable.
- Susan (10/5): Relaxing stay with seaside view - Japanese breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Onsen was private and relaxing.
- Mathias (9/5): Superb -
- Bianca (1/5): Awful - The food. It was super cold and anybody was able to hear the place. The bathroom had 5 degrees and didn’t heat up at all. When we arrived all heaters were turned off. We traveled with a 5 year old baby. The staff wasn’t able to heat the place. Even a technician couldn’t turn on the heater. In addition they had oil heaters which caused a bad smell and headache. We needed to change into another place and didn’t get our money back. So we paid over 400€ for one night. They didn’t give us even the money for the food back we didn’t eat and charged in addition money for a futon bed for our baby we just used for one night. At the place they promised to give us the money back for the night we didn’t stay if we make an inquiry with booking.com. Which we did. But back home they refused the refund. All in all an awful experience. Over 400€ for one night to freeze 🥶 your butt of.
- Katherine (10/5): Quiet, beautiful town with lovely sighseeing, and hikes. Enjoyed it more than Hakone! - The breakfast was delicious and so was the dinners as well! We had the Japanese breakfast and ordered the bento dinner and crab course dinner as well. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to explain dishes to us. We liked everything what wasn't there to like! I don't like the barley tea served with the room, but that's a personal preference and nothing to do with the property! Barley tea was at every Ryokan we stayed at.
- Drakebn (9/5): Great Place - There are two staffs ( Norma and Zahra) from Indonesia , we cannot speak Japanese but they are so helpful to us throughout our stay . Generally everyone is very courteous and try the best to make out stay safe and enjoyable . This place makes me feel like *I'm staying in an old friend's home*.
- Marylhyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jesse (8/5): Charming, accommodating and sweet. - The location is beautiful, the staff were extremely kind and polite, the whole vibe was comfortable. When it was time for breakfast, I was blown away-- the breakfast was so delicious and the our private dining room was so cool (including the view of the beach). Staff was very helpful during check out and when we left, they even gave us a gift. :) The beach wasn't very clean.
- Simon (10/5): Perfect - we should have stayed longer. - Probably the most relaxing place we stayed at in Japan - lovely room, great location, very nice onsen, fantastic food, and a pick-up service from the station.
- Anders (10/5): A place you wish to stay a few days or come back to. - Located in the small village right by the the sea with a small secluded sandy beach outside the window with only one local road between the inn and the beach. The food is delicious! The service perfect! The helpfulness is exemplary - they both picked us up and dropped us off by car at the Takeno station a few km away.
The room was large with a great view of the sea from the sitting area by the window.
The house's bath is good - of course.
- Jakkrit (9/5): Superb -
- Toonyawat (10/5): Exceptional - The property is very well decorated in jaoabese style, very cosy and good for family. I am very impressive with the dinner, they are just those we want to eat in japan. And the staffs are very polite and full of service mind.
- Keiko (9/5): View of the sea, shuttle bus from station - sound of the sea
Walking past fishing village with old houses Far from Kinosaki
- H (9/5): Great beach location with lovely staff and nice little onsen - Great location overlooking beach, with the sound of waves crashing all night (there is a road between hotel and beach). Staff were lovely. Dinner was a fascinating selection of local treats. Perfect little onsen on the ground floor. Free transfers to and from the station.
Be advised, if you are coming by train make sure you are in the front carriage, as only these doors will open at Takeno.
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location beach right out front. Extremely clean facility. Staff were extremely hospitable. We ate breakfast and dinner their daily, it was fantastic food, highly recommend. They offered us private onsen time daily as well. They had this shampoo, conditioner and body wash bar to choose from that was elaborate and extensive. What a special treat. Amazing facility and top-notch hosts. Highly recommend. Nothing
- G.im. (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benjamin (9/5): Amazing location, right at one of the nicest beaches in the area - Location, friendliness, cleanliness Food was a bit bland
- Tilmann (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything about this gem! Staff friendly, food amazing, everything was clean.
Everything was fantastic. We are definitely coming Back!!!!!
- Nick. (10/5): Authentic japanese experience at the ocean - Uminone was a very beautiful and authentic japanese experience.
We had great food (in room dining), a good time in the private onsen and the sound of the nearby ocean-waves was very comforting.
The service was excelent (including pick up from the train station) and everyone was very nice and polite.
- Suzie (9/5): Superb location, large comfortable room with beautiful sea views! - Location was superb! View from our large room overlooking the private beach and the ocean beyond was beautiful. Loved going to sleep with the windows open and hearing the sound of the sea. Extremely friendly staff and owner! Thank you, we would love to return one day and enjoy this wonderful part of Japan.
- Webb (10/5): The most relaxing holiday home, in the most beautiful little town, hosted by the most incredible people! Our favourite h - It was the most beautiful house with absolutely stunning views. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with an abundance of luxurious products. The onsens were incredible and my most favourite part of the experience was the people who worked there. They were super involved and we felt very cared for. We are seasoned travellers and this was our favourite stay by far!! Thank you Uminone!!! We miss you already!!
- Trinity (9/5): Love this place ❤️ - A rare find. This place is special. I was there in beginning of June and the whole area was super quiet. I was treated very well by the staff during my 5 night stay and have left feeling relaxed and happy. The sand on the little beach out the front of the hotel was a bit messy and in my opinion It needs a regular sweep. The main beaches (just a minutes walk down the road) were cleaner.
There was almost nowhere else to eat during my stay in early June. But if you get a chance to go to Taiyou ya Restaurant for dinner you won't be disappointed. I had the best sashimi and sushi 🍣 I've ever had there.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Didrik (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was great and the dinner was amazing. Moreover, the room view was breathtaking. The hotel is located in a quiet coastal town that reall has an mazing charm, with amazing activities to partake in and a friendly staff! We will come back one day!
- Thomas (10/5): If you are staying in the Kyoto/Osaka area and feel like getting out of the city I would highly recommend Uminone. w - A lovely hotel right by the sea. The room had the most beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had the snow crab dinner which was so delicate. They also have a small private onsen.
- Gretchen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): It was a fantastic getaway and we are definitely going to return! - The food was delicious, the private Onsen bath was so relaxing and the staff were super friendly. There was nothing that we didn’t like.
- Boonlert (7/5): Good - Private ryokan with specific services provided. The location is very far from some covenient store and service staffs are not working in 24 hours basis.
- Chen (8/5): The room's interior is quite impressive! - I like the presentation and arrangement of their room, bathroom as well as rest area.
The overall experience is cozy and comfortable. The location is a little far from the restaurants.
- ambarpete (10/5): Fabulous for families - We were really lucky to find this very special place. To summarise the owners/hosts were magnificent and attentive. Providing a pick up and drop off service at the train station.
The view from the rooms are amazing. It is right on the side of the sea with a beautiful beach.
There is a hot spa pool which is very hot.
The food was amazing, we had breakfast and evening meal. There was great attention to detail with this. You can for a day trip easily walk to the station for a train trip to the next town with hot springs. But it’s lovely to come back to the tranquility of this place.
The owners made us a packed breakfast on our last morning due to early start.
There is a cute coffee shop at the station and a small supermarket close to station selling all the things you could need.
- 180aniac (10/5): Perfect relaxation in wonderful surroundings! - We (my son and I) spent one night at this great ryoken and if we knew how nice the place was we would have planned a longer stay!
The ryokan is in a traditional Japanese style with rice paper sliding doors, madrases on the floor and mats on the floors. Everything very simple, elegant and comfortable.
There is an onsen (hot spring) at the ryokan which makes it a perfect place for relaxation. There is nothing better then soaking in hot water in the morning, before going out to explore the nature around Takone, and in the evening, after a long day of activities.
The ryokan is located right at the beach and you can see the sea and hear the waves from your room window - extremely nice! If you happen to be there during summer, you will have the great experience of bathing in Japanese Sea. We were there in April and water was too cold so we enjoyed walking at the beach instead.
In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast: lots of Japanese specialists, fried fish and freshly made smoothie with fruit, soy milk, sweat sake one charcoal on top - a real treat!
And last but not least - the awesome owners who made our stay unforgettable with their kindness, helpfulness and positivity. Japanese people must be the kindest people in the world and the owners of Uminone ryokan are the nicest amongst them all!
We loved the place!
