- Sandra (10/5): Very clean and comfortable. Piers was very friendly and helpful. - Good selection of cereals and Piers made us a lovely homemade loaf, very enjoyable. Nothing
- Vanessa (10/5): -
- Lesley (9/5): Great location for a large family needing communal spaces. - The quiet setting, surrounded by fields. The host was excellent. They live on site. The rooms were comfortable and warm. Had full use of all the communal spaces, as I was the only guest. The continental breakfast was ample and fresh. Good dining space. Freshly made bread is a nice touch. Easy parking. The road to the place is not great for a low suspension. 4x4s will have no issue.
The communal spaces, including the kitchen facilities are a shared space between the 5 bedrooms so great for a large single group. Might be less attractive for couples wanting a room and privacy. Some improvements to kitchen equipment, like the pans required.
- Nick (10/5): Wonderful stay, very personal and warm welcome. - Wonderful warm welcome, great conversation with the owner. Freshly baked bread for breakfast. Stunning!
- Steve (10/5): Excellent stay !! Will definatley return. - Great property , quiet , we were lucky to have it to ourselves . All the comforts of home. Comfortable bed, large kitchen . Fresh water . Nothing
- Richard (10/5): ***** -
- Michael (9/5): Wonderful stay in a great quality B & B. Very quiet and peaceful location - Very clean accommodation and the beds were really comfortable and bathroom appliances top notch. Pierce was so helpful and everything was at hand to have a delightful breakfast. For me the location was perfect, quiet and tranquil. I would definitely stay again.
- John (10/5): A perfect overnight stay in a lovely property in a very rural situation. -
- Doreen (10/5): Piers was very welcoming, just wish we could have stayed longer. - The property is in a quiet location.
The house was perfect and very clean.
The garden, natural pool and patio area was a great space to relax. Nothing to dislike.

- victoria (1/5): WARNING!!! This is SHARED accommodation not a VILLA as described. - BE WARNED, The property is a ROOM in SHARED accommodation with the door for your room off of the SHARED lounge this is not a villa as advertised. When I bought this to the attention of the owners they refused to see the description was incorrect and offer me a refund. I spent 5 minutes at the property before I left and was denied a refund even though we didn’t stay due to it being shared.
- Steve702426 (9/5): Very nice 1 night stay conveniently located to RAF Lakenheath if you want to see the jets - Piers left home baked bread and home made preserves out for breakfast - especially early as he knew I was checking out very early. Location convenient for RAF Lakenheath photo shoot. Communal/seating kitchen area nicely laid out and good recycling facilities. I was only there one night so didn't use the garden area but think this would be very nice to sit out in if staying longer. As a number of the rooms were empty during my stay parking wasn't a problem but can imagine if all the rooms were full it would be tight although perhaps there is alternative parking somewhere?

- Ken (10/5): Exceptional - Great!
- I (9/5): Beautiful place - very rural. - The property is beautiful and in tranquil surroundings. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and practical. The host was welcoming and gave a lot of good advice for the stay. The breakfast self service was ok and I appreciated access to fresh fruit all day. Everything in place for a good night's sleep. The location is quite far from any transport and the telephone reception was poor. I struggled to get taxis so I would say it's essential you are prepared to get around by car.
- Vicky (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy this beautiful bed & breakfast. - Piers was very welcoming - a perfect host! Beautiful property. Immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable. Robes and slippers were a lovely touch. Beautiful setting. Plenty on offer for breakfast. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
- Davyd (10/5): Exceptional -
- Celia (9/5): Something abit different. Loved it there. - Lovely rooms. Great communal area where we could put food in a fridge and prepare snacks. Also lovely garden area and we swam in the pool.
Homemade bread and jams and their own eggs.
- Phillip (9/5): good -
- Antony (10/5): The Mill is conducive to a thoroughly relaxing experience - The Mill is a beautiful property in a secluded spot set amidst countryside and wildlife.
Piers is a superb host who is very talented at bread making!
There are no time constraints at the Mill and the whole set up is conducive to a thoroughly relaxing experience. There is nothing to dislike about the Mill.
- John (9/5): Superb - Beautiful property in a very peaceful and tranquil setting a perfect place to relax and recharge away from the everyday stresses of life, very beautifully and stylishly decorated by Piers and his wife , with every room being themed around family and friends and each one telling its own fantastic history and stories, with beautiful and spacious gardens to relax in and wile away the hours with friends, family or fellow guests.
As for the hosts well what can we say ... Piers greeted us soon as we arrived and immediately made us feel welcome and at home, an incredibly interesting host who will keep you entertained and enthralled with so many wonderful stories of what seems to have been a life full of extraordinary events and adventures, add to this his being multi- talented from the home made bread and marmalade , all the property maintenence .. and he still some how manages to find time to work on his vintage cars !! Some people are born to run a B&B and Piers and his wife are 2 of the best, very highly recommended getaway stay for anyone , thank you for a wonderful stay.
- David (10/5): A wonderful stay, an exceptional host and absolutely 100% would recommend for an escape! - Everything about our stay at New Zealand Cottages was just about spot on.
Our host was very welcoming and it is obvious how much pride he has in his gorgeous property.
The Mll and the gardens were exceptional, the bed super comfortable and the daily home made bread was just perfect. We had great weather and managed a swim in the natural pool.
We didn't leave for over 24 hours - it was such a lovely garden space to chill in. Literally couldn't fault anything.
- Helen (7/5): Good - Beautiful grounds.
Relaxed and friendly host Bit more remote then we realised
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely stay, welcoming host, wonderful location, fab facilities, gorgeous outdoor space. - Wonderful spacious property with well-equipped shared area. Would be ideal for a large group sharing (4 double/twin rooms).
- Linda (9/5): Superb - Lovely warm welcome from the host, very accommodating to requests, fresh bread made for breakfast Toilet smell in one of the bedrooms, quite pungent when entering the room but rooms were lovely nonetheless
- Maria (10/5): Perfect - Everything. So much thought and attention to detail. Spotless bathroom. Lots of hot water. Fab towels. Everything you could possibly need in the shared kitchen. Fresh bread for breakfast, homemade marmalade, cereals, yoghurt. Beautiful garden and stunning remote location right on The Angles Way. Piers was a wonderful pleasant host who was pro-active and arranged some groceries for us as we were on foot. Cannot fault this place. Would love to visit again 😊😊 Leaving!
- Debra (7/5): Beautiful spot for a one nighter - Great bed and linen. Good communal area. Beautiful location. Room ( Tobago) was small. Had to drive down a one mile unmade road with lots of loose stones and dust. Car needed a wash ! Very poor choice of drinks at breakfast- 3 unlabelled canisters !
- Gerry (10/5): Fabulous location, great cottage and wonderful host. Thoroughly recommend. - Lovely property in a fabulous location. Quiet and rural but only a few minutes drive to Euston Hall where we were working for the weekend and the pub. Piers the host was amazing and the place was clean and well maintained. All good
- Tracey (8/5): very good will use again -
- Jenny (10/5): Totally relaxing break in the most unspoit countryside - Outstanding location which appeals very much to us as a dog owner. The property itself was luxurious in style, the owners had thought of every little detail to ensure the stay was tip top, the little extras they give are exceptional to the rule, home made bread, wonderful fresh double yolker eggs, fresh fruit, luxury yoghurt, homemade jams and cereals, milk and even a luxury wine chiller to boot!!! I cannot think of one thing that they did not think of with regard to providing the most excellent of stays. Wonderful, will definitely come back and recommend to others. Not a thing.
- Hamish (10/5): We enjoyed a lovely mini break from our city residence. - Incredible stay, beautiful location, and charming, welcoming and professional hosts.
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Jagdeep (10/5): Peaceful little B&B with a wonderful host! - Beautiful property. Well maintained with everything you could need.
I’m sure in the spring and summer it’s even more spectacular. We visited on sunny late February day. Nothing. You need a car as it’s out in the country side but that was our expectation.
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandy (9/5): A quiet getaway down the track with rabbits, owls and deer, in a beautiful home. - The accommodation was very homely and exceptionally clean.
The host was knowledgeable of the area, approachable and friendly. His home cooked bread was delicious. As were the homemade jams and honey.
The location was quiet, picturesque and teaming with wildlife, great for walks. We saw barn owls, loads of deer, rabbits, pheasants and voles.
The outside area of the property with the natural pool looks lovely and well kept. I am sure in the warmer months it is an added bonus to be able to use the outside facilities.
Lovely quaint villages within short drives, with great walks, tea shops and places to eat for dinner as well as towns with lots of shopping.
Norwich is well worth a drive if you love a few hours of retail therapy, and also has a market.
Centre parks is not far and you can book the spa for the day, we did this and had a lovely day. The coffee machine was mentioned in the advertised description, however only a cafetiere was available. It would complement the accommodation to have a coffee machine for example a Tassimo, whereby guests bring or purchase their own pods.
Just a note that this is a shared property. The only private space is your own room..
The breakfast is not cooked for you. It is self service, however it is very varied with a fully equip kitchen for example eggs are provided and you have everything you need should you wish to make eggs on toast.
- Dustine (10/5): Really impressed with both hosts and the lovely lady who arrived the next morning to put everything back in order. Reall - Just fantastic the hosts were wonderful Everything was great
- Gill (10/5): A restful short break in an exceptional place. - Breakfast & location fine, especially home cooked bread.. wonderful comfy beds, very helpful host and lovely accommodation. Garden also looked amazing! Nothing
- Victoria (8/5): The Mill - Lovely spacious rooms which were well equipped. Lots of food for breakfast. The track to the Mill was quite long and bumpy.
We did feel some parts just needed a little tlc... New towels, bit of paint, new shower heads ...
Otherwise, I would recommend
- Ken (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (9/5): Superb -
- Traveller (10/5): Exceptional -
- Davies (10/5): A fabulous place to stay and we will definitely be back. So many nice touches, really wonderful stay - The accommodation was fabulous, we were so pleased. Everything was more than perfect, and the bed was very comfortable. It's a gem of a place, so many nice features. Also, nice grounds to walk around.
We had a very warm welcome from Nikki and were made to feel at home. There were eggs, bread, and cereals for breakfast. Tea, coffee, and milk.
We had a great time here. It was away from other people tucked into the countryside and within easy access to roads and 3 miles from centre parks.
We loved it here and would come again and have recommended it to family and friends, should they be looking for accommodation in this area.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. There was nothing we did not like.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (9/5): Great - Great location very well furnished and modern nice and
Off the beaten track Na
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed here as a group of friends, and we enjoyed every minute of being here. The property has everything you need, and the gardens and pond area are stunning. We really appreciated the late checkout since they didn't have anyone else checking in that day. I would recommend this place for any groups looking for a relaxing and tranquil stay. The dirt road leading up to the property. You have to drive really slowly.
- Aidan (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (9/5): A beautiful, if remote, spot, comfortable with excellent facilities. - Beautifully furnished and decorated, and well equipped. Very peaceful.
Breakfast was help yourself in the large shared well-equipped open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. It was good to get to know other guests and share information about the area.
The garden was a great place to hang out, share a glass or two and have a BBQ. The swimming pond in the garden was rather too shallow for swimming, access was difficult and the bottom was slimy. Be warned!
It would be rather isolated for some people.
- Andrina (10/5): Gorgeous B&B, would 100% book again. - beautiful and clean rooms, incredible breakfast with freshly baked bread, a very warm welcome and dog friendly!
- Theobald (6/5): Pleasant - The beds were too hard and the pillows. We found it difficult to sleep but house and room very nice and the owner was very nice. Just beds uncomfortable
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place to stay, I loved the house and its grounds. Eating dinner on the patio next to the pond was a highlight.
- Michele (10/5): We didn’t want to leave - just gorgeous. Thank you! - The location. The peacefulness, the uniqueness and sense of freedom. Super relaxing. Piers was a lovely host and the legendary home baked bread for breakfast was such a nice touch! He even providing an emergency bottle of Rioja 😊 The outdoor pool isn’t an outdoor pool but a pond. Very pretty to sit by and watch the dragonflies and water boatman, but not inviting to take a dip so a bit misleading in the advertising blurb. We would have willingly stayed anyway and didn’t find out until after we had booked so anyone basing their stay on a private pool would be very let down.
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malcolm (10/5): A beautiful building and excellent facilities. Warm welcome - Space to relax. Home from home (but nicer)
- Iain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional - I can not recommend The Mill B&B enough. One of the most stunning places I have ever stayed in. Exceptionally clean, facilities are amazing. We had booked knowing it was self catering so didn't expect to find such a high variety of cereals, bread , eggs, milk, juice, tea, coffee and much more already there for us to enjoy. I am gluten free - which the hosts wouldn't have known but highly catered for, a huge bonus for me. The garden area is beautiful. A stunning pergoda with dining area, bbq and sofa around the swimming natural pond makes the ideal relaxing evenings. The host Piers and Sandra have literally worked so hard to make it the perfect get away no matter what time of year or weather. We will definitely be returning. I couldn't find anything to dislike. We were aware we were in the middle of nowhere and took enough food, drink and essentials so please bare this on mind when booking.
- Dionne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamsin (10/5): Blown away - 6 of us booked the villa for a gathering to make use of the outdoor seating area, bbq and narural pool. The owners, Piers and Sandra are so welcoming and 2 very interesting people.
We had a fantastic stay from start to finish. The Mill is stunning and has everything you would nees for your stay. The best part was the outdoor area where we spent the whole evening having had a bbq and a swim in the natural pool.
Thanks again guys for having us, I'm certain you'll be seeing our faces again.
- Justin (9/5): Superb - Piers was a very welcoming host & keen for feedback to make any positive changes.
Breakfast was an 'open kitchen' arrangement with lots of variety available, including bread baked fresh by Piers, and you could help yourself at any time. This was really appreciated.
We arrived by bike but despite the slightly remote location we were able to order a food delivery with no problems.
- Daan (10/5): Relaxing - Comfortable room. Nice breakfast including home-made bread. Great space to relax Tricky to get to the accommodation on bikes (it’s off a very busy main road that is hard to avoid)
- Fiona (9/5): Piers a very welcoming and helpful host -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Idyllic setting. Quiet. If the property had been full we wonder if the shared kitchen would be crowded. The swimming pool is a pond.
- Stephen (9/5): Don’t forget your walking boots and binoculars and immerse yourself in nature - Peace and quiet lovely gardens and pond teaming with wildlife.. fabulous.. Close to forest and wonderful countryside and a 15 min car journey into Thetford. Help yourself breakfast and fresh bread. Delightful Farm track to accommodation a bit hairy
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Clint (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cobbett (10/5): Overnight stay but would return for longer - Clean and good quality Noise upstairs
- Sandra (9/5): Superb - we like the peace and quiet. the host was very welcoming and very sociable . We dont like to complain but a few things were not to our liking . The towels were hard there was no heating on as the weather was cold no heated towel rail . Even though we had a shared kitchen we would have liked tea facilities in our room . The unmade road wasnt very good for traveling up and down to many pot holes .
- Antony (9/5): Great Find - Overall layout & feel was high quality & modern within a traditionally quaint building. Owner was very welcoming, friendly & chatty. Lane to building was tricky to navigate in anything other than a off-roader
- Phil (9/5): A great find. - Excellent. Quiet, off the beaten track and just what I needed for a visit to the Breckland.
- Gmac1980 (9/5): Superb -
- Alps (9/5): Superb -
- C (10/5): Loved our stay - Beautifully decorated house, picturesque garden, well equipped with very comfortable bed
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Marion (9/5): Great property! - The host very kindly met me on arrival to show me around the property which is superb! I had the full use of a modern kitchen, dining and sitting area with a massive TV and with my private bedroom with en-suite (and another TV), I couldn’t have wanted for more!! Very comfortable and private. The weather! The property is in such a beautiful spot the cold, dark, early night and grey day, meant I couldn’t enjoy it to its fullest!!
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like!
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - The host was extremely pleasant and his home made breakfast lovely. It was an oasis of calm and great for stargazing
- Isabel (9/5): Superb - We had the pleasure to stay at this B&B for a few nights while visiting family in the area. The location and accomodation did not dissapoint! We were personally greeted by the owner, Piers, despite our unexpectedly late arrival time. This goes to show how easy going and uncomplicated this B&B is run whilst still providing a high standard when it comes to the rooms, breakfast and provided amenities! We particularly appreciated the daily freshly baked bread ("delivered" in the evening, perfect for a sneaky late night snack).
Travelling with our dog we particularly appreciated the remote/rural location of the Mill!
We were sorry not to be able to say goodbye on our departure day, as we had to leave rather early to catch our train. We are looking forward to our next stay at the Mill ☺️
