Guest Reviews
- Princess (5/5): - Location is good. Breakfast closed before 10 am (this notice was not provided upon check-in) and was not up to standard.
- RAKA (6/5): - Lovely location. Gardens were unkempt
- Andrew (6/5): Perfectly acceptable hotel in lovely location. Some parts of the property are a bit shabby but overall it is quite fine. - Large rooms, great view The access road is like a ploughed field.
There was a limited choice of soft drinks.
- Simphiwe (9/5): It was satisfying. - Breakfast was very simple not posh like a Wimpy breakfast. Simple English Breakfast. Room was comfortable bed was humangous. I don't like the way the cars park out in the open. Hotel is in the farm area set up close to Drakensberg. Weather in the area is not garenteed hail, etc could damage our vehicles.
- Nqobile (10/5): -
- Sipho (10/5): - Beautiful Gravel road
- Petrie (8/5): - The dirt road was not good to get to the venue. I was not even made aware that it is a 1km dirt road. Otherwise, I only have good positive feedback to give. We had a lovely stay.
- Bernard (8/5): Bien - L endroit était tres beau Accès chaotique
Pas de place dans les chambres pour les valises trop petit
Chien a nos pieds qui mendi au petit déjeuné c est pas super
- Qutee (4/5): -
- Christa (9/5): Great place to stay. Clean and very comfortable. -
- Thokozani (9/5): -
- Marumo (9/5): If you want to relax this is the place - The breakfast was good but limited choice. A very peaceful place and not hard to find. Swimming pool was a cherry on top. Poor WI-FI in our room

- Thokozile (8/5): - Location and the pool Wifi did not work ,no electricity at night ,showered with dirty brown water, had to wait a bit longer for breakfast
- Sipiwe (9/5): - Perfect for a family wedding in the area. It was very well appointed and the staff were super helpful. Can't really say... earlier breakfast as I'm an early riser... Otherwise... really lovely
- Simo (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Lebona (6/5): -
- Pieter (5/5): -
- Vonani (9/5): -
- Khumalo (10/5): - It was nice
- Caroline (4/5): It was ok - No red wine available, and without an argument, I would have had to pay Corkage 60ZAR! However, this was wavered.
The food was not very good just edible
Vincent who greeted us was very good and polite Service, food, red wine
- Jan (8/5): -
- Sibusiso (6/5): - Breakfast was good but it could've been better. There is no fridge in the room, the TV is not playing and the car path is very rough on small cars
- Ian (10/5): Besides the WiFi issue this Hotel is a solid 10/10 - Honestly my stay was exceptional. I’ve stayed here twice so far and I’ve always received the best treatment from the staff. The breakfast is exceptional but the polite staff was my highlight, all the way from the gate to the kitchen. Definitely coming back here. The rooms are super clean and loaded with amenities. The WiFi in rooms 1-25 might need to be looked at urgently. The bandwidth is extremely low and the TVs cannot pick up the WiFi signal. The signal is not the best for someone travelling for work or wanting to get away for an online read or catch up on some documentary.
- Kevin (7/5): -
- Bheki (1/5): None - Couldn't get assess to my room when I got there because there was no one to hand me over the keys, had to go to book somewhere Everything

- AladdinsTravel (4/5): Well situated for use as a base from which to explore the surrounding areas. - Location was good with nice views of the mountains Breakfast was good. Although the food was good, supper was expensive. Access road was worse for wear due to recent rains, It was difficult to navigate the deep ruts with a standard family vehicle. Dining room was too dark (insufficient lighting). Games room looked like a storeroom and no equipment available to play any games. Safety standards were poor - an employee/resident used a firehose to wash a vehicle. Firehoses were not up to necessary safety standards (leaks were patched with plastic). Access to accommodation was obtain by ill maintained road and that part of property was littered with 'junk' - not visually appealing at all. Overall impression of facilities / buildings was that of neglect
- Nicole (7/5): Nice for an over night stop with beautiful views and a comfortable room. - What we liked was the room, nice large bed with aircon. The plugs were very hand with C-type and USB sockets. Bathroom had a shower and bath. lovely view from balcony and surrounding gardens were very beautiful. The pool was lovely and had a nice big step for toddlers. The road there is a sand road & with the rain muddy, luckily we have a 4X4 but something to consider if you have a small car. The room could use a mini bar fridge but not essential. The overall place needs a bit of TLC like the games room was abandoned & gardens further back near lake. The private parking area is just some wooden poles a& open so basically your car is just parked outside in the open. It does look like they are busy upgrading the place.
Then something that is actually out of their hands but if these are frequent guests it is something to mention. We went to the pool area to have a swim with our toddler. Upon arriving we saw a family already there & said hello, they said hello back & were friendly. Then a group of young girls came to the pool & were jumping in & laughing, as you do at a pool. I was in the pool with my toddler smiling at them and being friendly but they completely ignored us & didn't acknowledge us at all. Not a smile, not a hello, nothing. I saw a girl adjusting her bikini top & her friends helped her, I just smiled as that was nice of them but the girl turned to me & looked at me straight in my face & started speaking to me with attitude & aggression in another language. I said to her, I speak English so if you have something to say to me please speak in English. She just turned away & her friends all laughed. After that, anytime I swam around with my toddler they kept yelling mama this, mama that. They were being very intimidating & made it very unpleasant, as if we were not allowed there. I was ready to just leave but my toddler being an innocent 3 year old who doesn't discriminate wanted to swim with her new friends. So we stayed. Luckily one of the girls did acknowledge us & my toddler trying to swim with her, she was friendly.

- Theuns (9/5): Amazing staff and food - The staff absolutely amazing, beautiful room, very comfortable bed, the food AMAZING!!! We were there over new year and the people who booked in really didn’t obey any rules. They set off fireworks from the balcony and intoxicated people banged on our door, even tried to come into our room. The road in is also very very bad.
- nhlapho (10/5): Amazing -
- Ntshengulana (8/5): -
- Goodman (9/5): A safe place to be - View and peace Road or driveway to accommodation
- Olga (8/5): - Loved the included breakfast.
And the staff that phoned every afternoon to determine if we would be joining for dinner was a nice touch.
Rooms where clean and comfortable.
- Bafedile (8/5): -
- RINA (8/5): -
- Mlele (9/5): - Everything TV and their road.
- Nomsa (8/5): Had a great stay - Breakfast was good The road is terrible toward the entrance and it’s muddy
- Padayachee (6/5): - Yes Lovely view, safe,
- Felicia (9/5): What a beautiful and tranquil place for nature lovers to relax and unwind. - The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they even accommodated my early check-in request. Highly recommended! There was nothing I didn’t like. I would just recommend a more modern TV for guests who enjoy watching television.
- Ndebele (1/5): -
- Titus (8/5): -
- Gauta Samuel (7/5): It was nice - Veiws are great The fact that breakfast ends at 9am
Should be 11am so one doesn't wake up too early
- Lukas & Linda (3/5): Peacock overnight - Bed and meals. Road, facilities (swimming pool, gardens, games room, hot eating hall), and lots of cats.
- Siyabonga Nelson (7/5): The rooms and facility is fine but the driveway needs a lots of attention in and out the property and we were told that - The rooms were clean but the road in and out of the property is bad especially when driving a small car gravel road in and out very bad I only like the inside of the room which is value for money but was very unhappy with the breakfast which was not pleasant and not a buffet and when asked was told that they only serve a buffet breakfast when people coming to it the breakfast are more than 30 which is not something stated when making a booking and find it unacceptable
- Nokuthula (4/5): Unsatisfied service given - Nothing Serving Same breakfast for 3 days
The place is not clean i.e spider web and spiders were found running on top of the bed
- Sinothile (8/5): - The hotel stay was pleasant. The road/access leading to the hotel is not good especially if you using a small car.

- bchantelleb (7/5): Cute but I cant say I would want to rebook - Very Historic, quiet and peaceful. Neat and atleast clean. Friendly staff There were a few maintenenace issues that could only be addressed in the morning. No phones in the room to call reception. The food and bar area plus reception is far away from the accommodation so you have to drive, unless there was a shortcut walkway we were not aware of, but still would not have walked at night, die to lighting. We only spent the night as a sleepover, but not being able to make use of the main offerings; the price vs product did not feel like value for money. Cute concept for a farm, but not quite what I had in mind when I booked a more expensive option to justify the price.

- Alida (8/5): Good value for money - The view. Comfortable bed Road needs repair
- Mbalenhle (7/5): Good -
- Norman (4/5): Disappointing - Room, comfortable, breakfast was good, but no fruit juice. Access road shocking and road in hotel area disgraceful. Stop blaming the rain. Fix it.
- Unathi (7/5): The place is very quiet good for recharging - The property was ok a country hotel it is very clean and quiet The furniture is very old worn out couches, rusted bins, very old bed, toilet seats, tge mat had been cleaned but was awfully smelly as a result that triggered sinus, couldn’t sleep properly on the second day. The place needs a huge furniture revamp and change, also add bar fridge in the rooms they make life easy
- Yona (9/5): Superb - Great views and very friendly staff The road leading up to the property needs better solution to accommodate all car sizes not just 4x4
- Michael (7/5): A pleasant stay - Big room, nice view of the mountains, good birdwatching, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable bed, Hot water tap at basin did not work, privacy glazing on door window needs to be attended to.

- Anne (8/5): Enjoyable - Everything was enjoyable We were very satisfied and comfortable
- Nikita (7/5): Good -
- Tsepo (1/5): Bad - Conditions of the hotel are getting worse and worse every year. Everything. Accommodation. Curtains seem to have blood stains. The carpet hasn't been changed in a while. Garden, at its worse. No covered parking. The place could do with some major upgrades. Roads inside the hotel equivalent to hell. The owner seems to have forgot that the place exists, and the staff can only do so much to keep it afloat.
- Zandile (7/5): Good -
- Ij (4/5): 2 night stay in January 2025 - The rooms need upgrading.
