Guest Reviews
- Monica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Pedro (8/5): Very good - A charming, well-situated flat handled by helpful people. Colisseum, Forum, Michelangelo's Moses, and more within a fifteen-minute walk.
Note that you have to be fit to rent this flat. It's a steep walk-up. And beware of the steps within the apartment. There's one in the bathroom, for instance, between the toilet and the sink. You'll be fine if you're careful.
Via Panisperna, below, has some restaurant noise, but nothing to complain of. I learned from the friendly, Argentine proprietor of the excellent bar caffè across the street, I Monticiani (best morning pastries in the neighborhood, good carbonara and steak), that Via Panisperna is where Enrico Fermi and colleagues did some of their research into nuclear reactors. A plaque corroborates this. Rome now charges a tax of €6 per day per tourist. No fault of the flat owners, of course.
- Pat (8/5): Characterful property, great place for seeing Rome, but you do need to be fairly fit with the stairs - Great location in centre of Monti district of Rome. Lovely outside terrace, where we enjoyed al fresco eating. Comfy bed with plenty of storage. The lighting in the living room was no good for reading by. The bathroom was well worn and the shower needed replacement. We are reasonably active older persons, but getting a suitcase up the final staircase was nearly impossible - there are 66 steps in all to the apartment!
- Tomas (5/5): Passable - Location ; possibility for early check-in Level of maintenance. Internet stopped working at the second day like if it wasn't paid, even after insisting the problem was not solved
- Freddie (10/5): Atmospheric attic apartment with exceptional terrace and balcony - Exceptionally light and atmospheric attic apartment. A wonderful garden terrace out the back AND a huge full balcony overlooking the front street off the bedroom. The extremely steep staircase was challenging, but once the bags were hauled up it was actually fun to go up and down a few times each day. Monti is a touristy neighborhood (short walk to the Coliseum) with many dining and entertainment options on the busy but mostly pedestrian streets outside the door, but once you climb up to this very special "seagulls nest" total calm and quiet prevails. We rented a scooter for the five days and always found plenty of parking just outside the door.
