Leon (1/5): It sucked - The room sucked. The TV was not working 100%. The shower water pressure was terrible. Hardly any shampoo in the plastic container, hardly any facial soap. Bed headboard was not yachted to the bed, making a huge noise when one turns over. terrible place to stay.............AC unit in the wall had gaps where one could see outside, hence the reason I found ants and another insect in the room

Miller (3/5): SHABBY - only one thing, I was working on the computer via internet when checkout time rolled around. The owner came by and allowed us to stay an extra hour to finish my work online. It was SHABBY. Cheap everything. Bath cabinet and desk were de laminating. the towels, etc were of the lowest quality. The person who cleaned did her job but even the sheets were torn. The painter must have been drunk. It seems like the kind of place where some people live permanently. the rotating plate in the microwave was too big, therefore the microwave was unusable. Plus there were no plates or utensils in the kitchen. the frig was the smallest available and on the floor. it takes 2 or 3 shampoo packets to get enough shampoo. Parts of the ceiling were bubbling off. The rating was completely false. I uninstalled Booking.com because of this place.

Michael (7/5): Good spot for a night or two; I'd definitely stay again! - Location was great and the primary reason I chose to stay here. The room was clean and stocked with soap and shampoo. I love these motels where you park right outside your room door which is another reason I chose Southwind Inn. There were a couple cars in the parking lot with flat tires that look like they've not be moved for awhile. There was no coffee in the morning and the lobby closed. Business was conducted behind a glass barricade which struck me as unwelcoming.

Corina (10/5): Hidden Gem - There is everything to like about this property. Location is great honestly it’s a hidden gem. Pool is amazing if you get an ocean view room it’s breathtaking. Rooms are clean and are fully equipped with everything you need. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. No negative feedback because I personally love everything about this place.

Liz (7/5): Great location, great staff. Worth the stay for the money. Don’t expect a luxurios stay. - The staff was helpful and accommodating and good location. Although it is built directly across from a cemetery it adds a little quirkiness. The building and rooms need a lot of upgrading, old but clean. The headboard on the bed was not attached just leaning on the wall so every time you moved on the bed it would bang against the wall. light fixtures old and dim lighting. Most of the other occupied rooms seem to be permanent residences.

Stay at your own peril. - Nothing Pool was green, parking lot on north side of building was painted to look like it belongs to the hotel (it doesn't and was a towaway zone), no toilet paper in bathroom, room smelled like body odor, headboard on bed broken, we spent 5 minutes in the room, packed up and left, the website in no way represents reality.

Steve (5/5): Not perfect, but I would stay again. - The room was clean. The location is great. Very close to some excellent restaurants. Of course, the price is the best part. Found the front window off the track and unable to be locked.. I was able to correct that. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom and the window in there wouldn't stay open. The room definitely needs updating. Finally, checkout time is listed as 11:00am. But the staff came in to our room at 10:15am. Thankfully we were already prepared to leave.

Grocery Store...to buy Soaps 🧼 that's all. Thank you. Everything was nice good bedding Just needed Soaps to wash hands ✋️ Nice A/C cool.

Bob (7/5): Older property and well maintained. Port Isabel perfect for Starship launch and landings. - Free EV charging within walking distance, six short blocks, at Hopper Haus Bar and Grill. Dog friendly for a reasonable fee. The window AC froze the room until I turned it up a bit. Traditional oven was great for making and cooking a favorite, seafood dish. Stairs to second floor limits some to first floor. Although WiFi connection worked, the Internet access was not there. Had to use cell phone for Internet link. No cups or cooking pans and dishes so I bought what I needed at nearly, Super Walmart and took them home.

The price was right and the location perfect. - I loved the view of the bay and the cemetery where my parents and brother are buried was right across the street. Easy access for visit. There were a few knats flying around. Maybe a knat catcher would take care of that.

Kayla (8/5): A great value stay with hospitable staff and a great view. - We appreciated the location of the property given how close it is to South Padre Island, and how convenient the location is in proximity to the stores in Port Isabel. The inside of the room had a large fridge with a freezer, which was great for stashing our late night frozen treats and fresh cut fruit! The room was very spacious, and very clean when we arrived. We were also able to reserve a room that was facing out towards a nice space of grass land and had an ocean view. It didn’t necessarily bother us, but it was rather a surprise when we discovered a small cemetery directly across from the property! It was of no real disturbance, but it was definitely an unexpected surprise! Additionally, the deadbolt on the top of the door did not lock from the outside only the inside. But there was not much to say negatively about this property, or stay! We recommend it for an economical and valuable stay.

David (5/5): Place was good enough for what we needed. Price was double for spring break and SpaceX. - Location was perfect for our needs. We just wanted to spend one night to watch a SpaceX launch. Walking distance to Joes Oyster Bar. Although we didn't use the pool, it looked nice. Manager was very friendly. Since it was an older place with the doors on the outside, it needed a dead bolt inside the door. There were no bedside lamps, only a ceiling light. No paper cups or anything provided for the kitchenette.

Bazan (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the pool, the room was great. As soon as we walked in it smelled so clean. Our bed and pillows felt so soft. I have stayed at Pearl South and other expensive hotels but this one I can honestly say was a hidden gem. Definitely will definitely be booking again soon! My husband would have liked to take his beverage in the pool area. It's understandable if you can't though.

Pamela (10/5): I would definitely stay here again. - It’s close to everything and in walking distance to many restaurants and shops by the lighthouse. It had a kitchenette and was very clean. It’s an older motel, but very nice for the price you pay. The pool is pretty big and they have a nice bbq area. I have an older black lab, and the room had plenty of space for her to lay in without being in the way. Way bigger than your average motel room. It’s not a 5 star establishment, but if your looking for a place to stay, i would Recommend it. Also, I didn’t see any roaches that weren’t outside and expected, since it’s by the bay, so that was a plus!!
