• John (7/5): Nice but noisy. - Breakfast was good and varied, access to the hotel was good. The single glazed windows did not stop the traffic noise. The beds were far too soft and resulted in back ache in the morning. The air con was complicated and noisy, but effective.

• johnwP2887VI (8/5): A very pleasant hotel. - This hotel got a complete revamp not that long ago so everything has a pleasant modern clean feel. Our King room away from the highway was big and very quiet. Two odd things about the room: 1) a chair that was HUGE - about 3 feet wide and 3 feet from backrest to knee point it might work for an overweight Basketball player but was unusable for a "normal" person. 2) The bathroom sink was very high, perfect for said basketball player but a struggle for anyone much less than 6 feet tall.

The housekeeping, however, was not great: the empty Kleenex box was not refilled and garbage was not collected. In addition, the room above walked very loudly, and although the hotel can't force them to not stomp around, the noise travelled surprisingly well through the floor.
• Roving57497483666 (2/5): Items Went Missing… be careful here - I had a very disappointing experience at GLō Best Western Kanata Ottawa West (December 5, 2025). During my stay, a backpack containing personal belongings, including brand-name clothing, with an estimated value of approximately $800–$1000 CAD, went missing. I clearly remember a staff member handling one of my bags, but it was never returned to me. When I contacted the hotel, there was little to no effort made to properly investigate the situation, and no clear answers were provided. I have since filed a police report regarding this incident. This is very concerning, especially given the lack of accountability and follow-up from both the hotel and Best Western. I would strongly recommend being cautious with your personal belongings if staying here.

• Mary-Lynn (6/5): Once and done. - The decor was whimsical and upbeat. The breakfast was terrible. The potatoes were cold and not cooked through. The eggs were from a box and only one option; scrambled. I travel with a Pescatarian and with dietary restrictions. Hard boiled eggs would have been nice. Muffins; bran or blueberry would have been nice. Oat milk and honey for tea. There were only very basic "eat it or starve" options offered and only until 9am. The dining area had no room to sit. The food station was a complete mess as were the counters where I finally managed to get a seat (at the computer station). I tried to call the front desk about how to make my room warmer and it rang and rang and rang...no one ever answered. The front desk staff, (if you were standing infront of them) were polite, happy and courteous. The cleaning staff around the breakfast were not smiley, did not engage with the diners as they moved around them to take the breakfast away. They just moved the food. Some other guests asked if tbey could have just a little food as tbey missed the cutoff by 10 mins and I heard the staff tell them no because it was but away. That is horrible. My heart broke for those guests.
• cassidyb640 (10/5): Well worth it! - The hotel location was perfect for attending an Ottawa senators game. It was clean, the staff were friendly and had everything we needed for the night. The room was well thought out, clean and everything worked without issues. A very nice added bonus was the white noise machine in the room, which is something I’ve never seen in a hotel before! Overall we were very happy. Great value for everything we got with Glo!

• 840frede (8/5): NOT ACCESSIBLE FOR HEARING IMPAIRED - Overall my wife and I were quite impressed by GLO! Everything was new and clean. There was one serious disappointment though for me, although it is not a "deal breaker". I have a hearing impairment and cannot follow any TV show without seeing closed captions. The TV remote has a button for captions. I pressed that and toggled the "captions" option. It lit up. NO CAPTIONS! I repeated this a few time, but no success. I went down to the front desk to see what i was doing wrong. I was informed that even though that option appeared on the menu displayed, it had not been activated for the hotel. I spent my screen time watching netflix on my 6" smartphone with captions there.

We noticed how bad it was at 2am the night before we would be checking out early. Mentioned it at the front desk upon check out with no attempt to make it right.

My check in time was 4-5pm and a bus load of a hockey team was checking in ahead of me and they had open alcoholic beverages standing in the line up to check in, music playing on a Bluetooth speaker, I stood in line up to check in for about an hour. Only 1 staff at the counter to check everyone in! Would have been helpful to have another staff working at the counter to help with the rush! Other than that everything else was smooth sailing!

Eggs, sausage, waffles, hash browns, bagels/toast, yogurt, fruit. We had a little problem with our late check out request - but after some conversation we were granted a late check out by 20 minutes with no charge - I did call ahead and request this and a note was on my file but the front desk person originally wanted to charge us $50. Glad it was resolved, but a little stressful.

The unit kept pumping out either heat or cold. Also, the seal on the shower door was half off the door when we arrived. When i went down to speak to the desk, there was nobody there. I called out, and even walked into the back down to the lockers. Even after going out for a few hours for supper, the desk was empty upon our return. The breakfast was good, but the plastic cutlery is a little tacky. Impossible to spread cold butter with a plastic knife. Great hotel, but management need improvement.

I don't really have any complaints other than being in a room facing the highway which was constant traffic noise 24/7 and the people above me banging around until 3:00 a.m. neither of those are the fault of the hotel though but if I were to go back and stay here again I would stay on the other side and a top floor room.
• mikenV8960YO (10/5): Nice one night stop - It has a quiet neighborhood on one side and the 417 on the other. Seemed safe. Clean. Front desk was friendly and informative and called a cab for us. Short drive to the CTC. There was a little highway noise as we were on the north side but did not keep us awake. Decent breakfast options. The rooms have hard flooring so you want slippers for comfort. A little pricey for not having a pool or hot tub but for our one night stay for a concert it was more than ok.

• stewart (8/5): Apart from a bumpy start everything else was good. - the breakfast was good, and plenty of choices. The safe didn't work and it took until some time on the next day to get it fixed. The receptionist that was on duty at the time even came up to the room to try and fix the problem but could not.

Hot breakfast options were limited. - Location was great and very close to work event; Fresh and clean appearance of reception and dining area as well as room. Waited quite a while for someone to appear when I first arrived at 2:00pm. At this point, the machine would not accept either of my credit cards (which were in working order both before and after this) and the employee could not explain why it was happening and did not have a solution. Later, when I returned at 5:00, another employee was able to resolve the matter by manually entering my credit card number. So it was disappointing that the first staff member said he didn't know what the issue was and there was nothing he could do. The hot breakfast options included only eggs and sausages, as well as the waffle maker. At other hotels there are usually more hot options (potatoes, beans, bacon, etc).

• Ronald (10/5): Excellent with some improvements - We like how nice and spacious the room is. It seems like the coffee maker container hasn't been cleaned in a while. It was an icky moment when we were trying to make some coffee and realized the inside was so dusty and slimy.
• Q6099SOcarolb (10/5): 10/10! - My stay at this hotel was excellent! The bathroom was spotless, the room was very clean, and the bed linens were crisp and fresh. You can tell the property is well cared for and maintained. What really stood out was the breakfast service. Even at 9am on a Sunday morning, the food station was being carefully restocked. The gentleman working in food service deserves special recognition—he hustled to keep everything hot, fresh, and well presented, as if the day had just started. His effort and professionalism truly made a difference. Highly recommend this hotel for both comfort and outstanding service!
