• YASUO (5/5): コスト最優先なら、ここです。試練を楽しみましょう！ - セントロ中心から徒歩10分ほどです。電気が有ればWi-Fiもエアコンも使えます。オーナーにトラブルが無ければ、朝食もあります。 停電を待つ間、オーナーがレストランに連れて行ってくれました(割り勘)。 たくさんあります。 ホテルに着いた時、ホテルは閉まってました。空港からのタクシーの運転手が電話してくれてなんとかなりました。(当日は宿泊者は私1人) 初日はチェックイン後3時間ほど停電でした。珍しいことではなく、懐中電灯が常備されていました。発電機もありましたが、すぐ止まります。 オーナーは英語を話せません。停電でグーグル翻訳も使えず、意思疎通は大変でした。最後はポルトガル在住の息子さんとWhatsappで交信し、なんとかなりました。ポルトガル語話せない私も問題なんでしょうね！ シャワーはお湯が出ません。赤道上なので、大きな問題ではないです。 最後に€5/泊値引きしてもらいました。

A pracownik na prośbę o wezwanie taxi powiedział by sobie pójść poszukać. Było ryzyko że spóźnię się na samolot. A w pościeli były mrówki

• Fred (8/5): Great spot to spend a couple of days exploring the city - Great location and a comfortable bedroom with AC. The host was super helpful, by picking us up from the airport and dropping us off the following morning. A great breakfast on the guesthouse terrace, served by a super sweet lady. Nothing of note, but having a mosquitoe net on the bed could have been useful.
• Christina (8/5): Great location, amazing breakfast, super host, but water issues... - The breakfast was outstanding with lots of fruit, as well as eggs and bread. Just delicious. The manager was super responsive--he always responded to texts within minutes. Additionally, he gave me a ride to/from the airport. He also helped set up hiking up Sao Tome Peak. WiFi was good and reliable. It is also within walking distance to downtown Sao Tome and lots of stores and restaurants. Bed was comfortable. Most of the time I stayed there, there was no water. (I was not able to take a shower the whole time I was there...). Additionally, the shower and floor were not very clean. Also, I paid for a tour of the island, but found it to be overpriced--especially since there was no cacao tour--even though that was supposed to be a part of the tour...

• A (8/5): nice for a short stay - Location was close to my workplace. Breakfast was the best I could expect and the manager was helpful with advice and airport pickup, clean and friendly Water pressure was low and the room was very small, which is fine if you stay 1-2 nights but I ended up staying much longer. But for a short stay it's very good

• Felicia (10/5): Great Stay in the Single Room - - This was my second stay of three due to a flight cancellation - Single room was very clean - Water pressure was good in the morning. I'm not sure if this was a result of the water not being used concurrently by other guests, but it was strong enough to wash my hair. - Another great breakfast!
• Felicia (9/5): Excellent Communication, Hospitality, and Location - - Excellent communication with Waldimiro via WhatsApp. He was always available for questions and was flexible. He proactively asked me if I had arranged a tour before I arrived. - Free and easy airport pickup. Waldimiro was on time and proactively sought me out, asked if I needed a SIM card, and helped me exchange money before we arrived at the guesthouse. - Wonderful breakfast with lots of fruit, water, coffee/tea, smoothie, bread, yogurt. Some days I received an egg and some days I received a plate of cheese. A friendly lady served breakfast in a clean outdoor area. - Small room, but the AC worked well and the WiFi was good (in the bedroom, not so much in the breakfast area). Great hot water. The windows are small, but there is a screen door to help with ventilation. Toothbrushes and toothpaste were available in the bathroom. - Great location and very secure building 5-10 minutes walk from downtown - Very bad water pressure. Sometimes it was barely a trickle, sometimes the water wasn't on at all. The water was off three times in one day during this stay. Waldimiro helped me figure out how to turn it on the first time as he was away from the building, but by the third time he told me that it would be resolved in the morning. - My room key kept getting stuck when I tried to lock the door and the toilet seat wasn't connected - More trash receptacles outside of the room would have been helpful - The street outside is loud, but I didn't notice it as much in my room with the door and windows closed Normally these negative points would impact the overall score, but Waldimiro's hospitality was truly fantastic. Hopefully these points can be worked on to improve the experience.
• Felicia (10/5): Day Use Room on Day of Evening Departure Flight - - This was my third stay of three due to a flight cancellation - Waldimiro offered a day use room as I was leaving for the airport in the evening. I really appreciated this courtesy. The bathroom was not attached, but it was fine for a day use room. The room was clean and had great AC and WiFi. - Waldimiro was on time to take me to the airport, which was about 15 minutes away from the guesthouse

• Matthias (7/5): Overall pleasant stay in São Tomé und Príncipe - The Host is friendly, but only speaks portuguese. Free transfer from and to the airport. The bed sheets and towels were clean. The AC worked well. The Hotel is very central and you can reach all important places by foot (15 minute walk). There is a mini market right at the door of the hotel, so you can buy water and small goods if you need it urgently. The included breakfast is amazing! - Shower was quite dirty - Sometimes the water does not run, but a quick text with the host solves the problem - The rooftop where you can eat the breakfast is nice, but the noise of the street is unfortunately very loud

• Kuniaki (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Even though we stayed for one night only, we enjoyed our stay so much. Waldimiro is super friendly and helpful. He answers all the questions through WhatsApp. He also provided free airport transfers in and out which were very helpful for us. The room itself is basic but clean and had strong WIFI and AC. Highly recommended.

• Katrina (10/5): Safe and good for solo female travelers! - Thanks for the hospitality and the breakfast.. also Waldimiro drove me around with the car rental and helped me with following, friend’s birthday and he helped me find a special cake, my hair got braided, exchanged cash, got water and the airport pick up and drop off. Great hospitality!

• Todd_nial (10/5): What not to like!!! - This is a budget accommodation so keep your expectations realistic. The room is basic, but clean. Very good AC. Comfortable bed. Can not fault it at all for this standard of accommodation. Breakfast is served in a roof top veranda. The breakfast exceeded our expectations and the fruit served was just amazing! Free pick-up from the airport is a real bonus! The host was very helpful to assist in changing money in town and to rent a car as well. The host was always accessible via a WhatsApp if needed. Very good WIFI in the room. From here we walked in to town (bars, seafront) in 5min max. There is a shop downstairs so you can pick up few items if needed. What not to like.

• Rui (10/5): Exceptional - The staff, particularly Waldimiro, are incredibly kind and helpful. The location is very central and the price/value is amazing. If you ever need to stay in the city, this is the place.
• Mehdi (9/5): Suitable accomodation in the heart of Sao Tomé - Very hospitable and friendly host, super kind to pick us up at the airport, help us to change currency. Very nice breakfast. Rooms have air conditioning. The center of Sao Tomé is close and reachable on foot. The bedrooms were a bit dark, and lacked fresh air. The streets is pretty loud with noise from the motorbikes. However this is not a problem at night, as there is less traffic then.

The staff makes the difference - The best of Micaval is without any doubt the staff, that is always ready to support (pick up from airport, money exchange, ride to workplace, a lot of recommendations for the stay) and welcome you on a friendly way. Rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast is very diverse and complete. Convenient location close to center, making it very easy to acess the main parts of the city on foot. The property is located very close to the main road, which as the plus of being close to the center, but the minus of being surrounded by noise since very early morning. Would be perfect if it would have a common area besides the breakfast area that is outside and where it gets pretty dark.
• Eva (9/5): Good value for the price - It’s located close to the airport which is perfect for the day after a flight. The breakfast was very good and staff is very friendly. It is located on a busy road so it’s very loud at night. Also there is a bar nearby and people were being super loud there, so we had problems with sleeping.

We got picked up from the airport and we’re able to exchange Euros for dobras as well as buy a SIM card at a very good price. He took us to an amazing restaurant where we went back as it was the best food in Sao Tome city. Breakfast is delicious and filling. The bed is comfortable and bathroom has everything you need. Host also helped us organise collectivo to Porto Alegre for the next morning which we really appreciate as we didn’t have a car. It is value for money, though the aircon could work a bit better.

• Atevei (10/5): I enjoyed my stay - I arrived in Sao Tome and Principe, a team at the airport to receive me, Waldimiro and his friend Luis super friendly, free transfer to Residencial, well-guided tour by Manager Waldimiro, showing me some tourist spots, and also buying a sim card and currency exchange , and we went for the night, the next day I had the best breakfast on the island of São Tomé e Príncipe, the space was very clean and with very welcoming and dynamic people.
