- Dennis (8/5): - My favorite things on property was the lagoon and the snorkeling there. It was my favorite place to lounge. My recommendation is spring for the suite with a full fridge and dishes as it will save you money in the end. No room service and not a lot of food options on property. The nearby Queens mart had majority of its restaurants closed too. Room was clean but the times they came seemed inconsistent making it hard to come back in the room without interrupting them. The pool was packed and almost every chair had a yellow towel on it “reserving” it but would sometimes go hours with no one in it. It would be nice if someone enforced some better pool policy and etiquette. Kids were scaling rocks and back flipping into swallow pools, running around on slick surfaces and chasing turtles (cornering them and touching them) and parents nor staff really said anything. No beach access from this resort but there is one very close by. Lots of construction happening in some towers, the structure in ocean tower with the gondolas was closed. If you stay in Ocean Towers, be prepared to walk a LOT. Very expensive to park a rental car there and their shuttle to and from the Queens mart was 14 dollars round trip. Glad we went and enjoyed our experience but lots of room for improvement.

The grounds of the hotel are beutiful rhe lagoon an awesome spot no actual beach area to go swim in. Eberything at the lagoon is extra like kayak paddle board snorkeling these shpuld all be free considring they charge you an additional resort fee. There js a market/grocerybstore up the road about 1 mile do all your eating there because the food at the hotel was not good at all

Room had cockroaches, broken sliding closet door, A/C turned on and off but didn’t cool, broken hinge on refrigerator cabinet. A really terrible experience.

Parking is 50.00 per night and very, very far from hotel room. took 30 mins by tram. my room was 1092, so also, very far from anything. My toilet was not working, so had to have someone come in to repair. Room could use an update. Staff not the most cordial for the most part. Dinner at the pub thurs night, waitress had nothing to say, not friendly and breakast today, waitress was not very friendly, just turning and burning tables @ 50.00 per person for brunch. most people I met and talked to, go off property for meals. perhaps due to the staff?

- Faith (8/5): - There were a lot of shopping options, but because it's a resort, be aware that the prices are very expensive. It would be worth the drive to a grocery store for common goods. The Italian restaurant (nui) is VERY expensive, we opted for it since on our first day check in was close to the time our baby goes down for his sleep. 4 entrees plus dessert totaled to around $230. The condition of the room was great! it was an upgraded/renovated room and it was phenomenal. They also provided cribs for my two babies but we ended up just needing one. The bathroom in the master bedroom was awesome. Walking to the towers normal paced took about 10-15 minutes. Fast pace about 8 minutes. Very family friendly as the hotel had a ton of amenities. The tram didn't drag, i honestly like how long it takes because we got to decompress from the day travel. We were able to take the boat too which was a lot of fun for our toddler. the swimming pools were great. Kona walk up bar had the best drinks (ube lava was my fav).

Waited in the check-in line for 25 minutes before we’re able to get our first room went to that room and it smelled like mold and moisture to an unsafe degree so we requested a different room or put in a different room but the key they gave us did not work so I had to go back to the lobby, which this is a very big property and wait in line again to get another key Went back to the room got in that room, which was a better room and did not smell as musty and moldy still the room was dated dirty and not well-maintained so we decided to go out to the pool and tried using our key cards for the towels because you can’t just grab a towel. You actually have to use your key card and get towels from a locker, which is also very inconvenient But the key card did not work so we went back to the room to make sure that it worked for a room and it did not. At this point we had already spent an hour and 45 minutes with trying to get into our initial room and felt like most of the daylight was being ruined so we went to the pool which had broken chairs, dirty pool floor, dirty property, very unwell maintained, but tried to take in the beauty of at least the ocean so once we enjoyed a little bit of what was left of the sunlight, we went back to the lobby to get another key card to get in the room. Just a note. I did make sure that the key card was literally not near anythin

It would be nice to have more dining options on site, but we took the shuttle to the shopping center and brought food back. We very much enjoyed spring on our lanai eating lunch or dinner. We would definitely go again. Yes, the property is large, but just like any large resort, expect some walking. We enjoyed the tram, and just walked a couple minutes when that wasn't convenient.

Carpet and linen are very tired and had a slight smell but the lagoon and pools were amazing. The room service was the silliest as the only delivery option was after 5 PM and before 10PM so in a 64 acre resort you had to go an search for something to eat. It was not the best option for ultimate relaxation. And the food you did fine like our room view was mediocre at best.

I’ve been coming to this property since 2013 and it’s sad to see how the things are getting deteriorated and they are not fixing it. Sadly the gondolas are not serving any more, and the ponds are visibly damaged and dirty. It’s so sad that a Hotel that used to be so amazing it’s going down.

We liked the Lagoon (guaranteed to see marine life especially sea turtles), various swimming pools (including an adult pool), Dolphin Quest including "Sunrise with Dolphins", light breakfast (provided with our package deal) with 100% Kona Coffee from coffee shop located on the property, tram and boat for getting around, etc. What we didn't like: not enough affordable eating places on the property. We did eat at the Lagoon Grill twice which had good food with affordable prices but choices were limited. We ate at the Italian Restaurant. The food was tasty but way over priced. We were grateful for Food Trucks which came onto the property on a Wednesday night. Good choice. AND we were glad that the Kings Shop and Queens Marketplace was nearby (within a 20-30 minute walk) or take the shuttle for $5 per person. We would have preferred having a breakfast buffet included with our getaway package. Paying an additional $55 for a breakfast buffet was too expensive for us. While we had a standard room (not newly renovated), it was fine but we would have liked having a microwave in the room. Overall, we were pleased with our tropical getaway which Expedia provided. Thank you!!

- Tania (6/5): - The property is well maintained for the most part. The tram broke a couple of times so it was very difficult to walk over a mile and a half to get to where we needed to go. It’s a great place I have returned to 4 times over the years. Beautiful views and sunset and sunrise. The staff was rude and seemed unhappy to work there. They pushed me into a sales pitch that I regret ever agreeing to. Derek Foster was incredibly aggressive and hostile because I wouldn’t buy timeshare. Overall I really like the property and if improvements to staff being happier there maybe we would consider coming back.
- Richard (8/5): - I liked the look of the property, view beautiful and peaceful. I was not fond of the bugs that I saw at night. I understand it is open and therefore hard to keep free of bugs, but the large cockroaches were very unsettling to see inside the hallways as well as finding a smaller one inside the rental vehicle. As for the food, I did not like the NUI restaurant. We had pizza and chicken parm and both were not very good at all. The coffee shops were very good. We loved the pools, especially the large one. Water temp was perfect. Room was very comfortable and having the ocean right outside our balcony was great. We left the door opened through the night and slept with the sounds of the ocean, which was fantastic. Paying an additional $50 a day for a resort fee and then ANOTHER $50 a day for parking was very disappointing. This cost should have been included in the price of the hotel stay. Overall it was a very good vacation that we enjoyed. Not sure if I would recommend it though.

The resort is beautiful but there is no beach so if you want to go to any of the local beaches or out to eat off resort its 20-30 min in and out...bring your walking shoes.

Many species of animals live in the lagoon. there are kayak rentals and good restaurants in the compound. As you walk between buildings the shaded path is also a cultural museum. You never have to drive anywhere, unless you want to.

- Kia (8/5): - Some of the female staff members had bland and borderline rude personalities compared to EVERY other staff member on the other Hawaiian islands! It’s definitely a chore getting anywhere on the property but it’s doable. The walk from the ocean towers to the lobby only took us 10/11 minutes. The ocean towers are updated and the rooms are spacious and clean. Loved the room and loved how it had its own pools, slides. And beautiful ocean views. It’s an awesome option for families and there’s tons of (expensive) activities to do! The offered late check out for 9pm for a $150 fee which we thought was quite reasonable as we had a late flight. Overall I would def recommend this hotel.

I’m a disabled veteran. The delay almost resulted in missing my flight. It cause unnecessary stress at the end of my otherwise great vacation.

- Raighen (10/5): - The hotel staff Earlynn and Neil were very nice!! Kohala pool was a favorite for the children, but the limited food menu was not. We packed up to go to the Kona pool only to find the same problem - pizza, wraps and salad only; not to mention no staffing for the pool area to order from. The only other option was to walk to the Lagoon restaurant, which was very busy given the only place with more menu options for children. That was an inconvenience and a disappointment. Had we known, we would have brought our meals in from an outside merchant/restaurant.

We only stayed 1 night and had an early flight to catch. Conditioner and lotion bottles were empty. I have stayed here so many times and it was great. Will not be staying here again. Fridge and beds are from 1980s, sleeping on the fold out couch is like sleeping on rocks. Check in process is slow and stuck in 1985. The process could use some speeding up is an understatement more like a complete overhaul. Food at restaurants are at extortion prices. Self parking for $48 a day is down right robbery. Monorail runs at the speed of a snail it's better to walk.

- Lisa (8/5): - This is a beautiful property and lots to do for all ages. Ocean tower rooms are beautifully remodeled. Sadly, they won’t give you room keys on check in until you talk to a timeshare salesperson. I find it incredibly rude to hold keys hostage when I’ve already paid for the room. The last thing I want to do on arrival is be hit up for timeshare purchase presentation. Maybe they went to capitalize on you being tired from travel? Other than that service is great, grounds are exceptional, on site food is good to excellent. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Please reconsider the key hold situation. That ruins an otherwise great place!!
- Gabriel (10/5): - What an amazing place!!! I was a little nervous about the comments regarding long walk to your room but after arrival the view on the small walk is mind blowing. I saw so much wildlife and was so lucky to get a ground floor unit that opened up to the golf course and ocean. Just an outstanding room and outstanding property. Will definitely stay again. The place is so big it’s never crowed. Each morning during my ocean walk I could go 10 minutes and not see another guest.
- Donald (10/5): - I found the staff to be very nice and helpful, especially Kimara, who greeted me multiple times. She was awesome and always made me feel very welcome and glad I made the choice to stay here! This is a large Hilton complex with the Ocean Tower being a long way from the main lobby. Once you get your bearings it turns out to be about a 12 minute walk between the two. There is a tram to take you around, but if your luck is like mine, just as you walk up to the loading platform the tram is just taking off. This is the first time I got to stay in one of the rooms that has been converted to a time share. Even though I didn’t use most of them having a microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer can be handy. But there are some features that seem totally senseless to me. Like having a toilet that has a lid that opens and water sprays automatically with light or motion in the bathroom, regardless if you have any intention of using it. Or a bathroom without an exhaust fan that has a shower with a large glass door that opens outwards so all the water on the door falls onto the floor.

- Allyson (8/5): - I only have Two complaints.. first being the tram was broke down and for the first day or so no one had a clue on where to get the shuttle, which wasn’t a big deal except for a knee injury had prohibited excessive walking… and my second complaint was the price of the food!?! I didn’t expect to pay $72 for a large pizza, or $52 for a burger, I was warned food was expensive just didn’t expect that much. Other than those two things the resort was beautiful, lots of flowers and tons of water activities. Room was clean and property appears to be well maintained.
- Kristen (8/5): - Our room was dated, tv didn’t work, i think the remote batteries were dead. The clothes line in shower was broken. Not enough hooks to hang items to dry. Room is only cleaned every 4 days and it wasn’t explained we needed to request extra cleaning at check in. Even when we called housekeeping we were told they couldn’t clean our room. We had to ask for extra towells, then the just dropped a bag of towels inside the door. Tram was not working and once they got one working it was super slow, noisy and the air con wasn’t working. Still a beautiful property, but for the price it didn’t feel like a property up to Hiltons standards. If changes aren’t made soon. It will feel run down within the year. Disappointed in the condition of the hotel, faded signage and artwork signs, empty flower pots. Didn’t feel like it was worth the money spent.
- winnie (8/5): - loved the property, the pools, the turtles, the lush landscaping. everything was lovely. housekeeping on my was not as prompt. i wasn't sure the frequency of which the rooms were cleaned, i checked in on June 20th, had to contact housekeeping July 2nd after other people i was traveling with said their rooms were cleaned daily. once contacted, it was cleaned that day and everyday following. Other than that, stay was amazing!

- Verified traveler (2/5): Missing clothes - Decent place but took 30 minutes minimum to get from car to room every single time. We left over 1000 dollars in clothes hanging in the closet on accident and they “did not find anything in room” so that was extremely disappointing. Great place if u don’t want to leave your entire vacation but if u do don’t forget anything cuz it’s hour round trip to room and back.

- Jonathan (10/5): - The property itself has only one entrance. We stayed at the Ocean Tower which is about an 8-10 minute walk. However they do offer a free tram service to take you to other locations, as well as a boat. The views make this place! It’s by the ocean front, and they do have a rocky beach. There are three pools, two child-friendly pools, and one adult pool. And they’re very clean! They also have a sealed-off part of the ocean where you can paddle board, kayak, snorkel, or just swim! The water is very clean, and it’s filled with beautiful fish that you can just watch all day. The staff are very friendly and helpful! We didn’t have any negative interactions with any members of their team. We didn’t eat on property, but we would walk every day to the King or Queen’s shops, which are located about 35 minutes away, walking distance. There is a good variety of things to eat there, as well as a market for convenient shopping! To the left of the property is the Waikoloa Beach, which offers plenty of room for tourism and some a turtle preserve. Although it was a bit pricy, we did think it was worth the stay! It was beautiful!
