Guest Reviews
- Michael (6/5): -
- Labros (10/5): Value for money and exceptional location - Everything were great apart from, They use a plastic material bellow the linen sheets that was the best recipe to sleep full of sweat overnight. Terrible.
- Olaf (7/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): Alles in Ordnung - Alles soweit in Ordnung. Nettes Personal und sehr sauber. Alles unkompliziert.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptionally clean. Convenient location b - Exceptionally clean, self-catering accommodation. Convenient location close to Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof and Schwebebahn. A range hood over the cooktop would be good - accidentally set off the smoke alarm. I heard another guest managed it as well. No dishwasher or washing machine in room. Guest laundry only had one machine and was never available when needed. Public laundromat nearby was good - cash only.
- Xiaoyu (2/5): Very poor - nil The room lacks proper light-blocking curtains. As a result, when the sun rises in the morning, I am forced to wake up due to the bright sunlight, leading to poor sleep quality. Additionally, the room is extremely small!
- Darrell (10/5): - Great location and spacious
- Adventure58061814269 (10/5): Fantastic! - Very good apartament, everything is just fantastic! The room was clean and comfortible. Reception is amazing. Location of hotel is close to everywhere. Thank You very much. Im suprise and happy to be here.
- Jian (6/5): Pleasant - Breafast food and service are good Smell in the room
- Ibrahim (1/5): Bad - no clean towels or the bed £120 I pay not worth average price I couldn’t cansel my booking still was there charge full amount the money
- Diane (8/5): - Tolles großes Zimmer mit voll ausgestatteter Küchenzeile. Habe nichts vermisst.
- Sandwip (5/5): Passable -
- Saurabh (8/5): Very good - Ok Ok
- Kewei (4/5): old facility/room - hard to say Price is quite high compared to other decent hotels nearby, while the apartment room is quite disappointing, much worse than a typical hotel room. Narrow corridor, poor soundproofing, and very slow/old lift, strange people around.
It is a studio for someone who live there for a longer period. but still the price is even higher than a hotel.
- 496aaaaab (2/5): Unsafe, house keeping and long term stayer harassment, woeful management response to a potential serious guest action. - I was going to cancel on the first day but this 'pay in full' insistence now leaves the guest to 'manage' the stay.
Housekeeping glaring breach of privacy after the first hour of being there. I am exhausted, had carried my bags from Dusseldorf and had just had a very disturbing check in where a gentleman known to the property, had walked over and persistently interrupted my check in. I find out after feeling forced to say something(the check in woman made no reasonable attempt to ask him to wait etc) that he has behavioural issues. Why did the receptionist not warn me, why did she not insist that he not be at reception where he could cause distress to guests.
I go to my room, lie on the bed and soon after the housekeeper and carpenter start a nice long and loud conversation outside my room wall. Yes you know the one. I have to go out and ask them can they talk somewhere else. I lie on the bed and guess who has walked around and into the joined balconies and with full view of my room starts, yeh sure, cleaning the balcony glass door.
If a male housekeeper had done that to a woman guest I would be accused of being a peeping tom. Disgraceful. I should have been offered that nights refund right there. I wanted to leave. But couldn't. Also previously the receptionist who initially quoted my room rate as 47 euros then on confirmation, boop, boop be doop woops I meant 74, said well house keeping have to clean the windows. An hour after I arrive? Looking straight into my room? It was of course harassment. Any reasonable person in the eyes of the law would see that.
I move rooms because the verandah is shared.
Trusting on potentially 15 different guests with varying knowledge of shared balcony behaviour and likely smokers was too much of a risk. One of them might walk over and start cleaning my verandah glass door at night.
I moved room and the neighbour next door, a male in his 40s starts banging the wall. He has noise issues. I am quiet. TV on at level three but even clearing my throat gets a knock on the wall. Mr long stayer clearly has not had a guest next door for a while. I eventually have enough of this banging or punching on his wall and knock on his door. This is 10.00 at night. He answers and plays the 'what me sir'. He is uptight. I say again please don't bang on your walls or I will call security. He does it again. At 10.10 pm I call the at home manager who advises the most unsafe advice and that is to knock on his door again. With no security around and his erratic behaviour this is a most unprofessional and dangerous advice.
Then there is upstairs also a long stayer, constant tapping on his/her pipe or whatever makes a hit pipe noise.
The night security door for four nights was broken, didn't lock. Anyone could have walked in.
One afternoon I was next to this security door in thought and the door buzzer goes off. No cameras but I am being told, you are being watched?!?
From upstairs tapping, like every time I went to the bathroom, and the buzzer going off, it felt very unnerving.
I was glad to get out of there.
The feeling I got was the owner has no idea of what goes on and the receptionist has her own agenda.
I would not recommend this place at all.
- davidmV2790LI (6/5): Business Trip-- things to consider - I stayed here for 5 weeks on a business trip. Here are a few points to consider whether this place will work for you.
1. It is located near the main train station and downtown. This means it is easy to get around but it is also located facing the corner of a noisy intersection. There is a busy bus stop outside on one side of the building. Around the corner are the train tracks so you can hear trains coming and going. Most people will need to sleep with the windows closed to reduce sound. Light sleepers will likely need ear plugs. The main problem with sleeping with the windows closed, is on a hot summer day, this can be very uncomfortable. As with most of Germany, there is no AC. There is also no fan, but other guests have said you can request one.
2. The apartment is small, but clean and most items are relatively modern. I stayed in the superior double and I was alone. I would not recommend going smaller than this if you are here for more than a few days. They change the towels and linens weekly, but do not clean the rest of the apartment. this is fine for me.
There is a small refrigerator, but there is not a freezer compartment (I learned this the hard way when I brought back some ice cream from the grocery store). There is a television mounted on the wall that is over 15 years old-- worse than useless. I don't see the point of this. Kitchen utensils were terrible. I ended up buying new spoons and forks because the cheap ikea utensils fell apart when I used them. I also purchased a pan and a sharp knife. I'm sure if I took the time to complain, they would have replaced these, but you shouldn't have to ask for some things. They did supply a toaster when I requested one. The bathroom is relatively modern with nice fixtures. There is a water heating unit that can act erratically and you may need to adjust the settings so it doesn't alternate between scalding hot or freezing cold water. After 6 weeks I still sometimes can't get it to behave properly. Not sure if there is another issue going on with the hot water. I mentioned it to the woman working the front desk, but I don't think she passed it on because I never heard back.
3. Internet. This might be a deal breaker for some people. The "free" wifi is terrible. It is slow and unreliable and they also block access to websites that they suspect will use up bandwitch. It is also a pain to log into because they use a 3rd party portal that probablly blocks and restricts access. Youtube.com is completely inaccessible. You can use this connection for sending emails and browsing the web (during times of day when there is not heavy use). Skype calls and any attempt to stream video will usually fail. I ended up spending nearly 10 euros per day extra to buy data packages for a Vodafone/MOBI sim card. For this you need to buy a SIM card and have an unlocked phone that can do WIFI tethering. This can be a pain if you don't know how to do it. One Netflix movie will probably burn through 20-30 euros in data.
4. There is a gym downstairs run by a separate business. I got the add-on membership, but I ended up getting it refunded because the gym closes at 4pm on weekends and since there is no AC, it can get very stuffy and hot. I ended up running outside.
Overall, the stay was adequate for me. But I don't think it is for everybody. If you need a good internet connection or if you are a light sleeper, this might not be a good fit for you. Otherwise, it is a relatively low hassle, affordable accomodation in a central part of Wuppertal.
- onlyme67 (8/5): Business trip - Nice and near the train station for connections to Bonn and Cologne and a number of bus stops. Private car park belonging to the apartments and very cheap.Everything supplied and all very clean.
Beds extremely comfortable but unfortunately our bedroom was facing the railway line and so first nights sleep was totally disturbed..
