• louise (4/5): - The location was very good Fabio was friendly and welcoming The room was very clean The room was quite basic, we booked a deluxe room with garden view but we did not get the garden view, we got the opposite buildings' outside wall, when i asked why, i was told booking.com had only requested a superior room with ensuite and if i wanted a garden view we could move rooms but for a further £28/night but only for 2 nights then we would have to move back to our original room for the last night. The shower cubicle was tiny, there was only shampoo in sachets and no conditioner at all, but worst of all the bed was so uncomfortable we woke up with back ache every day.

• Pat (8/5): Wunderschönes Viertel und tolles Zimmer – morgens etwas lebhaft - Die Lage in Cannaregio ist perfekt, da man abseits vom Trubel rund um den Markusplatz wohnt. Wir hatten ein wunderschönes Zimmer mit einem kleinen Dachbalkon und wurden freundlichst empfangen. Mille grazie! Frühstücksraum und Treppenhaus sind eins – dadurch ist es morgens leider schon früh recht laut im Haus und im Zimmer.

• MIA328 (8/5): Small hotel, good location - We reached Venice around 11 pm and had great difficulty finding the hotel. Fortunately some local teenagers helped us out after a while. We had booked a double room with private bathroom which turned out to be on the top floor. We had to carry our luggage up the narrow staircase (48 steps!) as there was no elevator. The room was small and very ordinary (but the bathroom was nice). So we were off to a rocky and disappointing start. The next morning when we came down and got our bearings, we realized the location was excellent! The boat bus was a couple of minutes' away on one side and there was a vibrant, bustling main street on the other side with shops and restaurants. The train station was a 15 minute walk down this street with two easy bridges to cross on the way. Pros for this property: 1. Location 2. Comfortable bed 3. Clean bathroom, towels, bed linen. Cons: 1. Steep stairs, which are not suitable for those with any kind of mobility issues. 2. The host is not fluent in English so communication can be challenging. 3. There are no amenities provided in the room.

• F6871WEtimothyk (2/5): Terrible Experience – Avoid This Place - We booked a room with a private bathroom, but before our arrival, we were told we’d have to share a bathroom unless we paid an extra $80 cash to upgrade. They tried to blame it on Expedia, but after reading other reviews, it’s clear they’ve done this to many guests. When we arrived, we waited 15 minutes outside for the host, who barely spoke English and was difficult to communicate with. Once he finally let us in, he charged us $105 cash for “taxes.” We were promised a balcony with a canal view — but the room had no view at all. The room itself was tiny, the bed squeaky and uncomfortable, and the pillows and blankets were terrible. To make things worse, there was a fire alarm chirping every 30 seconds due to a dead battery right outside our door. Both mornings we woke up with bug bites, and when we arrived, the AC was turned off, making the room extremely hot. It took all day to cool down since it was on the third floor. Overall, this was one of the worst stays we’ve ever had. Would not recommend.

• R (9/5): Ottimo soggiorno in Cannaregio - La camera ampia e spaziosa, ben arredata, molto romantica e comoda, dotata di balcone privato e finestra. Il bagno era finestrato e molto carino. Ottima posizione in zona Cannaregio, esattamente adiacente al Casinò (era la mia destinazione) Mancava il frigo in camera per poter conservare fresche le bibite. Per arrivare alla camera c’erano molte scale ma per me non sono state assolutamente un problema. Qualche difficoltà nel concordare l’orario del check in, ma tutto è stato risolto in tempi brevi

The first key was to the garden gate, the second key to the building, the third key to a suite of rental rooms, and the fourth to our room. The host was extremely nice and we enjoyed our breakfast on the roof of one of the buildings owned by property. Because of some internet glitches we had some difficulty the first day of our stay because of a communications problem. We would stay there again - now that we know the secrets of getting to our room.

• KathyK43 (8/5): Nice place to stay - A nice place to stay. The only issue I want to mention is the fact that the rooms are on the upper floors of the building. There wasn’t an elevator and getting to your room required a couple of long stairways. The rooms are clean and the owner was quick to respond to our questions before arrival. Breakfast on the top terrace was delicious and our breakfast host, Fabio, couldn’t have made us feel any more welcome! He saw to our every need and was quick to help with directions when needed. If stairs aren’t an issue, I would recommend staying here.

Relatively close to the train station (easy walk) and in a neighborhood that has several restaurant options. A few great cafes around the corner. A hike from the rest of the island, but with the Vaporetto, easy to get around. Angeles Inn is pleasant, clean, and well cared for. The staff are fantastic: Fabio is especially helpful and eager to make your stay a great one.

Host was very responsive too. Bathroom was so tiny. You can brush and shower while sitting on the toilet seat. :( literally so tiny. And the door is so thin I could hear every single sound from the toilet.

• josephinen136 (4/5): Negative experience which changed my view of Venice - I suffered terrible transport delays and misfortune on my trip from mantua to Venice which meant I had to cut my 2-night stay in Venice to 1 because there were no trains or buses running. It was unwanted and through no fault of my own. I kept hotel management informed on their what’s app messaging system and met their demands for cash payment only - they say they were having problems with their card system. Even though I was there for one evening and a half day there was no sympathetic consideration for a rebate, other than a free breakfast, and was charged the full amount of my stay. Even worse, when I started to broach the topic on payment I was actually silenced by the owners colleague, which was very disrespectful. This soured my impression of Venice as a tourist trap. The room was very nice, though the bathroom was dated (no proper overhead shower, loose connection in old hairdryer) and it was not worth the 250 euros paid instead of the 123.50 euros I should have paid.
• Molly (9/5): Amazing room and friendly staff! - Staff were amazing and so helpful. Room was beautiful and very spacious. Great location away from the busy san marco area but only a 20 minute walk. Quite a lot of narrow stairs to get to the rooms though not an issue for us. Also seemed to be lots of mosquitos in the room - particularly in the wardrobe. A little plug in repellent would have been good

I think they should renew the pillows and it was a bit noisy because the room beside us left the door open and they were very loud.

The location was perfect with great working AC, adorable balcony with a courtyard view, and beautiful Venetian style room that made us feel like we were getting an authentic experience. It was also in the heart of all the action - shops, restaurants, bars, water boats, etc… yet also down an alley off the beaten path which made it peaceful & QUIET when we wanted a break for naps! We felt super safe and couldn’t get over how CLEAN the town was! The property owner was so nice and communicated very well with us. Fabio was friendly (and funny 🤣) and provided amazing support with how to use the water bus and where to find the best pasta in town (besides his house lol) I highly recommend this place! We had to take three flights of steps up to our room but we appreciate the exorcise.

The location is great, in the city centre, however not in the overcrowded part, from the bus station approx 15 minutes. Breakfast was delicious and served on a cosy terrace. Before arrival, Valentina contacted me to ensure I knew how to get to the location. Also sent me details of local attractions. On arrival we were greeted by Fabio who made us feel welcome, answered all our questions. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautifully decorated in Venetian style with a lovely balcony. Everything we needed was provided. Being the first time in Venice, this added to our enjoyment and made our stay special. I would definitely return and stay at Angeles Inn and recommend to anyone wanting an authentic view of Venice with wonderfully helpful hosts.

• Melissa (10/5): Quiet block, super hosts! - Everything was perfect! Valentina is a great host that kept in touch with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was good. Fabio was super sweet and charismatic. The property is super quiet and clean and less than 1 minute from the hussle and bussle of Venice. • KEVIN PETER (10/5): - My partner and I spent three nights. Fabio welcomed us and Valentina stayed in touch by WhatsApp, suggesting best ways of reaching the hotel from arriving at the airport. The hotel is discreet, very quiet, down a quiet alley and clean and homely - the room wasn’t large but painted in warm colours with a tasteful old style wardrobe and drawers. Clean linen appeared each day, more than needed - new shower & toilet with very warm radiator which was welcome in February. We stayed three nights and didn’t have the breakfasts but saw them beautifully laid out. Highly recommended and a very memorable stay.

• arlette m (4/5): Very disappointing - The location is great, but the room was full of mosquitos and blood spots on ceiling and walls from previous guest that killed mosquitos. The floor was very dirty, had not been clean properly.The mattress was terrible, dont have a mattress cover so you feel all the plastic buttons from mattress. Very uncomfortable. Don't even give you two pillows. We complain and they came to clean the room, but not the bathroom. Breakfast was ok. Even though it says Laundry Services, is not true. I asked and they said that was only for them, since they wash sheets and towels inhouse in that ONE washer they have at the breakfast area.

• Shiva (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was very helpful and kind. The bed is not comfortable. The bathroom is tiny with weak water pressure. The location is average.
• Nick (6/5): Inconvenient bathroom situation - Excellent location, easy check-in and friendly hosts. However, there was only one shared bathroom for many rooms, which meant that is was often occupied. It was also on a different floor which was quite inconvenient.

• Ed (6/5): Got a shared bathroom after booking and paying for a private one - Location was good, the room was clean, the staff were efficient and friendly. I had booked a private bathroom and a large room. They changed my room, but we still had a shared bathroom. They/you (booking.com) told me I could cancel if I wanted to I could cancel on the day I arrived!!!! Hardly practical or sensible.

• Anonymous (7/5): Disappointed in the room size and not having English speaking manager on the premises. - the location to Caravaggio and the vaporetto water taxi. There is not a regular hour person that is at the property and he doesn’t speak English. He did make an effort to help but it was challenging and referred questions to the manager by phone only. Did not like the size of the bathroom. It was too small for a couple to share, very small. the room was small and the storage vanity was too small for two people. The room would have been ok for one but not two. Did not like that they are advertised as a Bed and Breakfast and they stopped doing the breakfast for all rooms. That was my original reason for choosing the place so I was disappointed to find no breakfast.
• Autumn (8/5): Cute Hotel! - We had an overall lovely stay at the Angeles Inn. The hosts were responsive. However, I marked them down because we were promised services that they no longer offer. They advertise a breakfast, coffee, and laundry but they told me, upon asking, that they do not do this due to COVID, despite the fact that our other five hotels in Italy did offer this service.
• Alexandra (9/5): Comfortable, kind staff, accessible, close to great food. - Great location, close to the station, lovely and professional staff. The room was large, completely clean, and had a nice Venetian style. The accomodation was also safe and close to fantastic places to eat! Nothing!

• Jose (9/5): Venice is not a place for "older people". - The owners were wonderful people. The made us feel at home at all times and were extremely helpful. The only thing we didn't like was there were no elevators in the B&B and had we been a few years younger it would not have mattered. This was not the owner's fault, it was mine for not asking before I booked. Exceptionally CLEAN property. Thank you for your hospitality.
