Guest Reviews
- Deborah (8/5): - The staff, except for the restaurant was absolutely lovely. Accommodations were lovely as well. Very comfortable bed, very clean. Loved the atmosphere!!! Was really disappointed with the breakfast staff. I had asked for a simple cup of coffee. There seemed to be a problem with making coffee with absolutely no attempt at fixing. The staff also had more interest in their phones than solving a simple problem of having a cup of coffee for their customer. I asked for coffee again about an hour later with the same result, more interested in their phones before asking me what I wanted and the same answer about the coffee. A breakfast restaurant that offers coffee should be able to find a way to actually produce it. So, I walked and found a place about 6 calle's away that had great coffee.

- Joe (2/5): Host was apologetic about the issues raised and promised they will fix the issues - Location and staff Needs upgrade especially bathroom which has a damp ceiling. Linen and blanket were damp as well

- Maria Giulia (9/5): - Hotel pulito e curato.
Niets

- Gloria (7/5): Beautiful and close to the center - There are many nice chilling areas in the garden. The hotel is very close to the center. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are nicely decorated. There’s a restaurant in the front that plays music pretty loud in the evening. The music is not good and the restaurant was mostly kind of empty, so the atmosphere in the garden wasn’t very nice in the evening.
The breakfast was ok (they can make something vegetarian too), but you have to choose between coffee and juice. You don’t get both. Which is pretty weird. They should offer both even if the breakfast would cost a bit more.

- Steve (10/5): Great location and friendly staff - The hotel is located in a great location just off the main square. The hotel has a dedicated parking lot next door so no need to look for street parking. Lots of cantinas, street food vendors, shops, and restaurants just a block away. There is also an adjoining restaurant. The host, Vanya, is helpful and friendly. The dog, Cookie, is also super friendly. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and are situated around a nice garden. Very quiet at night.

Parcheggio interno molto comodo.
- Marney (10/5): Beautiful hotel. - Lovely host. The place had very chill vibes. Nice space to relax by the clean pool. Our room was beautiful. The staff at the attached restaurant were also very helpful when I asked for salt and pepper for our own snacks. Having drinking water available for guests would be a nice touch.
- Abigail (10/5): Great stay, attentive staff, brilliant location - Such a wonderful lady at reception - so friendly and helpful! Location excellent near to the main streets and park. Not the most modern room but lots of character and all was clean and nicely done. Pool was lovely in the heat too. I advise closing the bathroom window at night to avoid being woken up by chickens/dogs next door! The only small thing was that we paid for breakfast at the onsite restaurant via hotel reception but the restaurant then didn't open at the time they said it would (8am). It was only 20 mins or so late opening but, because we needed to catch a bus that morning, that 20 mins meant we didn't have time for breakfast. That's the fault of the restaurant though not the hotel! Hotel refunded us the money and we're very apologetic and sweet.
- Aneta (8/5): Kolorowy, meksykański styl. - Bardzo klimatyczne miejsce. Pięknie ozdobione z fajnym basenikiem i barem obok.
- Julija (1/5): Bed bugs!! - Garden is beautiful, and interior design is very nice. Bed bugs!!! I willfully ignored the latest review reporting bed bugs, convincing myself that it's a different room and the issue must've been resoled. That was not the case! I will not include the unpleasant pictures of my bites, but the ankles on both my feet were unmistakably dined on. I pray that I didn't bring any bugs with me because I intentionally left my backpack off the floor and away from the bed.
- Meander27804515153 (8/5): Cute and comfy if you like antiques - Comfy and cute! Pros: beds come with two pillows :) , beds are comfy, room small but functional, has parking and price is great. It’s a boutique hotel with 7 rooms, lots of antiques and art with creative eclectic design. Place has thin walls as large window face courtyard, it’s understandable for its design. Possible Cons: front access closed at 10pm, entrance only through parking lot, Fine if you have a car but would be too dark if walking in alone. Also, checkout at 12pm is non-negotiable, there will be fees if checking out late. Overall, If u like funky antiques and colorful space this is great boutique hotel.
- EveAS (8/5): A lovely hotel - Our room was spacious and attractive with very comfortable beds and linens. The grounds are lovely and peaceful with cheerful artistic touches everywhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very centrally located and within walking distance from the center of town.
- Resort795104 (10/5): Lovely hotel - Our family spent 3 nights in the Casa Aluxes hotel. It was lovely. We had two rooms - one for the two adults and one for the three teens. The patio is gorgeous and full of fun, quirky decorations. Vaina, one of the owners, was super friendly and helpful in recommending restaurantes, etc. We enjoyed the unobtrusive company of the dogs and cats, the Chihuahua “chispitas” was especially entertaining - well dressed in her Baja hoodie for the “cold.” The rooms were comfortable and spacious. It was generally very quiet, with the exception of the music at the restaurant, which was supposed to be turned way down at 10pm, but that didn’t always happen without some encouragement.
- verena-wolf (10/5): Wonderful place in the centre of Valladolid - A really perfect place to stay and relax in Valladolid. Service is nice, friendly , helpfull and very symathic. The garden with pool is lovely and the rooms is pretty, much space and clean. Clean towels every day, good breakfast, good restaurant! We spent 4 nights and enjoyed the casa aluxes very much!
- Maps49460106786 (10/5): Lovely hotel in the centre of Valladolid - The location is perfect right behind the old city centre, so that you can park the car easily and safe behind the hotel. The garden of the hotel is a total charm with all the hammocks and lights in the evening. Above all the staff, especially the manager, were very lovely and gave us some very good advice on things to do in and around beautiful Valladolid.
- 195sarahm (10/5): Great location, lovely hotel! Definitely recommend - Beautiful hotel, perfect for exploring Valladolid! We loved staying here. Lovely courtyard and pool. Lounging in a hammock was a nice way to spend the afternoon after seeing the sites. Breakfast was delicious and room was clean. Perfect location. A short walk to the main plaza as well as the historic street. I would absolutely recommend staying here and I hope we stay here again!
- Annield402 (10/5): You need to stay here - would give more stars if we could. What a lovely, eclectically decorated hotel. They only have a few rooms, but each is wonderful. Family run. Located only two blocks from the main square. Quiet, comfortable, friendly staff. Near many restaurants. Helped us with getting to sites we wanted to see, as we did not rent a car. They have on site parking.
Will definitely stay again should we return to Valladolid.
- 924joeh (10/5): amazing gem in Valladolid with a pool, great management, cool rooms and hotel, highly recommended !! - 1. Walking distance from city center, restaurants and shops.
2. Beautiful places and very cool paintings within the hotel premises, and an amazing spot to have a drink.
3. It has a pool, which is great for the Yucatan weather.
4. MEX Family owned and operated. Management is super helpful and attentive to details.
5. Rooms are tidy, spacious and clean.
- Irmo (10/5): Cosy hotel! - Located very central in the city of Valladolid. With a parking area next to the hotel. The hosts are very friendly. Its beautifully decorated. A nice garden with swimmingpool and hammocks to relax. They offer a good breakfast. We can absolutely recommend this hotel!
- Traveldiaryfr (10/5): Amazing experiecne, good location and excelent service - Staying at this hotel was one of the highlights of our trip in Mexico. The place is centrally located, it has so much character! The pool and hammocks are a very nice addition. The staff is super attentive, restaurant has delicious food. Everything was great - the room, the pool, restaurant. Huge plus points for the hotel staff who were so professional and accomodating. Everyone was super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate everything I needed. I really highly recommend this place.
- StaceyLBC (10/5): Great value for a great stay! - My husband and I had a spontaneous stay at Casa Aluxes Hotel after deciding to extend our visit in Valladolid at the last minute. Although we didn't have advance reservations, the staff was extremely accommodating & welcoming. The location is excellent, just a couple minutes walking to the Calzada de los Frailes. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and the shower had fast & consistent hot water. The entire property has a ton of character, there are personal little touches throughout and great spaces for relaxing, eating or just having a drink from the bar. The included breakfast was excellent. I asked for tea and our waitress/hostess Nere gave me her own personal tea as the hotel didn't have any on hand. She even packaged a few extra of her tea bags for me to take with me as a gift in case our next hotel/restaurant didn't have any tea. To my amazement, the envelope containing the tea bags was hand drawn and painted by Nere herself! Our spontaneous stop turned out to be one of our favorite hotel stays of our trip!
- LizonMorton (8/5): Cozy hotel, great location - This hotel is in a great location easily walkable to the main square, historic Calzada de los Frailes which has lots of boutiques and restaurants, and has free parking which makes it easy to get to Chichén Itzá and the cenotes in the area. Check in and out were very quick. The breakfast is excellent - choice of eggs, toast, pancakes, fresh fruit and good coffee. The garden area with hammocks and rocking chairs is great for relaxing on hot afternoons and the pool, although cold, was nice for a quick swim. The restaurant is very good.
The room itself was fine - decent cable and wifi, comfortable enough beds, and the AC worked well although it rattled the first night (but not the next two). The shower was hot but with low water pressure, and the room dark and quiet at night.
There are a lot of small details that could be improved though - the lighting in the bathroom was very dim; there was no housekeeping service; there was only one blanket for two beds; and nowhere to hang towels or swimsuits except on the shower door.
- wamysdottir (10/5): Nice stay - Everything about this casa is good - comfort and cleanliness of the room and beds, breakfast, design, and service tops it all. The host and staff are hospitable and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will return when we go to Valladolid again!
- Stonefox (8/5): A Good Location for Town and Transport Hubs - We stayed 4 nights in the suite double deluxe (room 4). The room was clean and quiet with good quality towels. The location of the hotel is great as it is only a 5-minute walk to the ADO bus station and to Calzada Los Frailes, a 10-minute walk to San Bernandino convent, and to the Cathedral.
There are many nearby restaurants to choose from. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar at reasonable pricing if you don't fancy going very far.
Breakfast was excellent and consisted of fruit or fruit juice, toast and a hot dish which you could choose from a menu. The staff were very friendly and professional and keen to ensure our needs were met.
Probably the only thing missing and that we had not encountered elsewhere, would be that there was no complimentary filtered or bottled water, so you will have to buy your own from one of the local shops. Beyond that, we really enjoyed our stay here.
- IanD9 (10/5): Friendly family run hotel - Great location, very friendly family and staff who took time to stand and talk about our trip.
Rooms were clean and pleasant.
The food and drink was reasonably priced and the off street parking was free.
Good location as a stop over for an early start to Chitzen Itza as it's about 30 min drive.
- KennyHer (10/5): Casa Aluxes - We stayed four nights in Casa Aluxes. The hotel is close to the centre of Valladolid (1 minute walk to Francisco Canton Rosado Main Park).
Nearby you have lots of beautiful things to visit such as Cenotes, Maya ruïnes etc.
The hotel is run by a friendly family who created a really lovely ambience. The staff is very polite and helpful. Everybody does what ever it takes to satisfy their guests and make them as comfortable as possible.
The hotel is a colorful place with an amazing garden. In the garden are the rooms, a swimming pool and different places to relax in a hammock. You can even relax on the roof.
The rooms and everything look great and is lovely decorated, the beds are comfortable, ac works good, everything is really clean and they offers free breakfast for their guests with great coffee.
Recently they also have a diner restaurant, El Rincón de los Aluxes (see my review).
It is not aloud to smoke anywhere on the premises. It is not aloud to smoke in many places in Mexico. You also don’t see a lot of people smoke in public places. Places with children and non-smokers. It also has something to do with the government and money off course. But don’t worry, they created a nice spot on the parking for the smokers.
In short a great place to stay. Highly recommended!
- SheriH605 (10/5): Stay here! - I honest can’t fault this place. Gorgeous little family run hotel. The staff, including al restaurant and bar staff are incredibly friendly (and it’s genuine) and they go out of their way to assist, give advice, and welcome you. The rooms are great and comfortable. Great wifi and air con. Tastefully decorated, a beautiful garden area with hammocks and a little pool to relax in. Breakfast is excellent and dinner was divine/ great food quality and drinks were great- the barman is super passionate. Attention to detail and a really welcome stay.
- Manonks90 (10/5): Great service and cocktails! - We were visiting Valladolid and stopped by here for some drinks. We had some very good cocktails at a really nice price! But above all, the service was great and the surroundings of the bar/hotel and rooftop lounge were amazing!
- OmarBaeza (10/5): Best place to stay! - I couldn't have a better experience and time, we had the facility to go to all the symbolic places in the town cause it's a centered location!! Also a pretty good food in restaurant and cocktails in the bar; rooms are so nice and comfortable, I really loved it!!
- lizL7677ZN (10/5): Great friendly small hotel - Lovely family run hotel, really nice small pool, really friendly staff, great breakfast. Great location. Lovely city. Thanks so much for a lovely stay - one of my favourites in Mexico. Sadly only one night - will come for a week next time!
