193nancym (10/5): Beautiful historic hotel with wonderful staff - This is a beautiful historic hotel. Spacious clean rooms with high ceilings. Comfortable beds & quiet provided restful sleep. Well appointed bathroom. Steamer provided rather than an iron which I appreciated. Easy walk to the convention center. We had breakfast & dinner at the hotel and both were very good. The entire staff was kind & responsive. The surrounding area feels a bit like Gotham City in Batman but we did not have any safety concerns walking around or parking our vehicle on the street. Hoping that DT St Louis can be revived as ut has lots of potential.

From the atmosphere (and the incredible smell, seriously top-tier) to the coolest bartender, every detail was perfect. We enjoyed a couples massage that, no exaggeration, was the best I’ve ever had—topped off with champagne to finish. 🥂 The pool was warm and extremely clean, and our balcony view was such a lovely touch for city watching. IlliniGuy76 (2/5): 100% Scam In A Bad Area - I travel for business and my stay here was the worst hospitality experience I've ever had. I'll preface the below by saying: a) Read the reviews - this is in a completely desolate area of St. Louis, abandoned buildings all around, you will not feel safe in this area etc b) St. Louis isn't my home city & traveled there. • I booked a general/King room on 7/18 for a corporate rate of: $179.00 • Two days before arrival we looked on the Marriott app (using a MEMBER rate as often they are cheaper); I was shown a rate of: $215.00 • Upon arrival on 8/9 we just had completed our reservation when the attendant said I had to show a "corporate card" to get the rate that was booked. No one has a corporate card in our company (outside of C-Suite) and I showed our company badge; this apparently was not good enough • I was told that they could give me their best rate which was $450 (as they were sold out for the evening). The woman I was working with just walked away to tend to another call & we stood there for 5 minutes. • The attendant told us that the city of St. Louis was completely sold out & there was nothing at all they could do. We looked throughout the city (various apps etc) and there wasn't a room within 20 minutes of the area we were in. I asked said attendant "can you please do something, anything?" One would think they could offer a comped dinner, free drinks etc. They offered us nothing and were steadfast that this is all they could do. • Upon coming into our room, we figured out they upgraded us to a larger room than what was originally booked. Once in the room, I got a call from the woman saying "You need to come down immediately your card was declined!". I called my cc company and it was simply a fraud hold that was removed. Upon me calling the front desk, she said to "hold for a minute while I rerun this". After waiting on hold for ten minutes, I finally just hung up the phone. • The following morning, I received our folio and the charge was $545 • I contacted Marriott corporate to file a complaint and was told the general manager of the property would contact me. After a back-and-forth exchange with her where I ultimately told her everything that happened and that I knew she could right this wrong, actual management who (I'd assume?) is trained in hospitality thought this was completely normal/and how you handle a situation like this with a Marriott member. So to summarize: a) We weren't given the rate I originally booked; ultimately I was charged $366 than original booking & $330 more than I saw on their very app two days earlier. 100% taking advantage of travelers who have no other option by charging them rates for a similar hotel you don't even see in a city like New York b) We were offered ZERO resolution - nothing! We were told there's nothing they could do and we were ultimately out of luck, traveling to a foreign city from home c) The rate they told us originally, I was overcharged. d) I was moved to a larger room, charged for the larger room and not told they were doing so. I'm certain management here will respond with "this is our policy and you were charged our "best available rate". We had zero options, they literally gave us zero options/hospitality... nothing! I provided enough credentials to get the rate I actually did book. Book at your own risk - this is a 100% scam in a horrible area of the city (look at some of the videos/photos of the surrounding area - if desolate, abandoned buildings with nothing else around it is your thing... book!) & they will 100% take advantage of travelers coming from a foreign city in whatever way they can - you've been warned!
Green (10/5): The Gm Manager!!!! - The staff was amazing. It was hectic at first but they got everything fixed and figured out and went above and beyond for me and my family. We traveled for the Chris Brown concert and my sister shoes was two different sizes and we didn't know until last minute and the gm manager took her shoes off her feet gave them to her just so we'd make it to the concert in time. I do recommend completely!!!!

When we arrived with our two kids, there were no rooms available. We couldn't find any last-minute accommodations in the downtown area, which completely disrupted our schedule and ruined our two-day trip. What kind of management overbooks and leaves a family stranded? The only hotel they could arrange for us was 10 miles away. Extremely disappointed -- I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Chris (8/5): - Checkin was easy. Parking was expensive ($50 vallet/day). We booked it for the heated rooftop pool, but the pool was not heated and tiny. And the view from the pool was blighted buildings, broken windows and graffiti. The food ranged from amazing to mediocre. Breakfast was great (but $40 for one person. Dinner was $200 for 2 and the steaks were overcooked, the potatoes were nothing like the pictures, and dry. When we arrived at the restaurant we were the only ones there. The lady "working" was sitting in a booth watching TV. But when she seated us our seats had food crumbs all over them. Maybe get up and clean something? She made excellent drinks. Front desk service was incredible both days. When we got to the (corner) room it was incredible. But our experience was taken down a few notches when neither the TV or the record player worked. They came and fixed both but it spoiled "the mood" a little. Also, there's nothing in the minibar. We had to go 12 floors down for waters, soda, etc. Really would have preferred to just have it there and bill it to my room. Overall the place has a beautiful interior with quality materials. Could have lived in the bathroom. Overall I'm glad we had the experience, but I'd probably bring a cooler and eat elsewhere if we go again.

The roof top restaurant and bar was not open like it said it would be on the website. The food was ok . Not many choices to pick from on food. Pricing on parking was expensive. Rooms are decent, but not up to Marriott standards (much less Autograph standards) - nothing egregiously bad but when I say not up to Marriott standards I mean: cheap plastic shower fixtures that deliver inadequate flow; missing extra bedding; only two towel sets in room and makeup cloth disappeared after first day; plastic water cups; etc. again. No deal kilerd on the room quality and it looks to have been recently refreshed, but more like Days Inn as opposed to Autograph. Biggest issues with hotel are the parking, and the restaurant. Parking first... Valet service which is $50 per night (!!) is stacked up and understaffed with only single valet. Even getting into the valet line for parking is hit or miss. Worse, the cars are parked in an open lot next to the building. Very scary and would not recommend leaving anything in car. Single 9k Tesla charger was not working and underpowered anyway. I expected a lot more from an Autograph hotel, and certainly at least a secure parking facility. And $50 exceeds Chicago rates. As far as the restaurant, we are there one time for breakfast. Omelates tasted like old fry oil and were hard as a rock. Bacon was stale. Not surprisingly the restaurant was empty, but there are few breakfast options nearby as downtown STL is dying or dead. Overall very middling experience and makes me question the Autograph designation.

JamesE339 (10/5): This is the most spectacular hotel in downtown St. Louis!! - The hotel sits in a beautifully restored landmark building centrally, located in the city within an easy walk to the arch, the ballpark, convention center, etc. The rooms are stunningly beautiful, impeccably clean, feature large bathrooms… And really comfortable. I found the entire property “spotless“. The restaurant on the lobby level was really wonderful, and drinks upstairs overlooking the ballpark was a wonderful way to spend some time in the evening. I’ve probably stayed in every hotel in downtown St. Louis, and this one is certainly my favorite! Bravo hotel St. Louis! Thank you for hosting me once again! I’ll be back!!
Tierra (2/5): The worst experience ever - Hotel front desk clerk was horrible. He was misogynic, arrogant, and unprofessional. Check in took 3 hours. This man was an outright bully and even argued with his manager. As a Marriot Bonvoy member I have never experience such disrespect or unsatisfactory service. I never received points for my stay either. I will never stay at this hotel again and will be sure to tell others of my horrible experiences.

This time around, none. And we booked the same kind of room. Bidet was broken. Food left in fridge from previous guest. Not vacuumed. No snacks or drinks. No robes. Had to request them and it took over an hour to get them. Balcony view was of all the air conditioners and maintenance things. So we never sat out there due to the smell. Beds were so hard. I remembered thinking they were so comfortable but not this time around. Sad because this was our favorite place to stay in st Louis. They were nice and let us check in early and the valet staff were very nice however when we got in our car, the automatic starter part in my car was on the floor. Have no idea how that happened. Husband just put it back in but still weird

259oner (10/5): This hotel is an oldie but goodie - The Hotel Saint Louis is located in a building constructed in 1893, and you can definitely feel the history the moment you walk through the front door. I received a very, very spacious room with two queen beds. The rooms come with an antique style phonograph player and several record albums. The hotel is in a U shape, and so my room had a view across the U to rooms located on the other side of it. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Busch Stadium to catch a Cardinals baseball game. You can see the ballpark's seats and light standards from the elevator bank of the 7th floor. The room had DirecTV , providing far more channels than at the typical Marriott property. Further, the bathroom also had its own TV located in the mirror, allowing you to tune in while washing up for the day. Speaking of the bathroom, it too was incredibly spacious. The bathroom has one of those tubs in the shower setups, causing the shower itself to be very, very large. It also had a great, powerful showerhead. The toilet included a bidet with a seat-warming feature. Since I was visiting in June, I did not need a heated toilet seat, so I just unplugged the device -- problem solved! Although earlier reviews on here mentioned a club breakfast that people seemed to find very disappointing, I was advised that the Platinum breakfast benefit now entitles you to a full breakfast plate in the lobby restaurant. I already had other breakfast plans, so I did not try the hotel's offering. A lobby worker by the name of Pila is one of this hotel's greatest assets. He is wonderfully personable and, in common with the hotel itself, has an amazing history. People matter, and Pila made me very happy to be here at the Hotel Saint Louis. Downtown St. Louis is, for lack of a better term, rather run down in places. In other words, it is in need of a downtown revitalization effort. During the day, at least, I had no issues walking around the downtown area, including visiting the Arch, which is located just a few blocks away from the hotel. There are also plenty of self-parking garages near the hotel. I would definitely stay here again should my travels cause me to return to St. Louis.

Claudia (2/5): LOCK MALFUNCTION 🚨 - The hotel itself was very nice however, we faced a very big issue with our room. After leaving, we were unable to get back into the room with our key cards. Upon returning to the front desk and receiving two new key cards, we still could not get into our room. We waited over 3 1/2 hours at the hotel, unable to leave unable to get our things or do absolutely anything before the hotel offered to provide us another room. The hotel did not offer us any discount or any other accommodations and it was only after 3 1/2 hours and it was already 10 PM before they offered to give us a new room. We stood outside of our room as somebody with a crowbar tried to pry open our door unsuccessfully we were told they were going to have to cut the door down to get our things, but we had to continue waiting as they just kept trying to pry it open. Finally, we got moved to a downgraded room and had no other accommodations discounts or reimbursement. This prevented us from doing anything else the second half of the day because you’re unable to get into our room to grab our things.

Good lobby bar and breakfast room. The servicing of the rooms is not very good. The 2nd day we had to ask for more towels, room coffee, and to have the trash emptied. The front desk person acted very put out and annoyed. When we returned, we found the towels dumped on the couch, no coffee, trash not emptied, and the used towels left behind. Although the room had a patio, it was unusable because of the dirt on the chairs and table.

Went for baseball game, nicely located a few blocks from stadium. Would stay again. Bar in lobby serves nice drinks. Breakfast in hotel was good although it took a long time to get our food. The town of St Louis leaves a lot to be desired, very run down and lots of homeless.

Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing - We were very underwhelmed by this hotel. We had high hopes after reading previous reviews but were sadly disappointed when we arrived in person. Do not waste your money for a corner room or a ‘view’. Your view will only be vacant, dilapidated buildings covered in graffiti. I tried to request a higher floor via this app but once the staff did reply they said my reservation appeared to be cancelled (I had a previous cancellation for different dates.) I did not get a response via this app when I explained this and when I tried to call to confirm our reservation there was no answer and no return call, although I did leave a message. The pillows were not great and I spent most of our ‘vacation’ with neck and shoulder pain. The ice machine on our floor was broken. The advertised Sky Bar wasn’t even open yet. There was dirt and personal items from previous guests left under the bed and chairs.

The internet in our suite did not work well at all. I could not use my iPad at all. It was very frustrating. The tv in the main bedroom did not work. The hotel came and “fixed” it. It turned out the tv worked during the day but not at night. For a very expensive suite, this and the internet issue was not acceptable. As others have wrote, the hours at the restaurant and the upstairs bar were very odd. Finally, I used a large amt of gift cards, however I only got credit for 80% of them. I am still waiting for a call back from the manager. We also had a second room on a lower floor. No issues at all with the tv and internet.

First off, no bellman, trouble getting anyone to valet our automobile, given the wrong room number and had to go back to front desk to get it all corrected. When entered the room, a window was actually left open. 3 TVs and 2 didn’t work. The engineering staff fixed one tv but were unable to repair the other one. The bathroom wall paper was disgustingly stained and dirty! Not a nice area of downtown with lots of run down buildings, rooftop bar closed and no staff available at downstairs bar…never again!

Mobile42705384252 (2/5): Not what I expected out of a Spa - I recently visited Spa St. Louis inside Hotel St. Louis for a couples massage, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing—definitely not worth the price. I paid a $78 deposit upfront and was charged an additional $410 at the end of the service, totaling nearly $500. For a massage priced at $185 per person, I expected a more luxurious, spa-like experience. There were no robes, no showers, no jacuzzi, and honestly—no spa atmosphere. It felt like we paid for the name and location rather than the actual service or experience. The massages themselves were average at best and nowhere near worth $200 each. What made the experience worse was the spa manager tipping her staff from my payment without my consent and laughing it off by saying, “It’s already done, no take-backs.” Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I left feeling overcharged, underwhelmed, and disappointed. I will never return and absolutely do not recommend Spa St. Louis to anyone expecting a true luxury spa experience. 2 out of 5 stars.

Aaron and Erin at Union 30 went above and beyond with their service, making our dining experience truly memorable. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail did not go unnoticed! Tj (8/5): Amazing Stay - This hotel experience was amazing starting from the customer service at the door, to the restaurant, and condition of the room. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the food could have been much better for the price, and the water pressure in the shower was less than stellar. But the views with floor the ceiling widows were gorgeous!
894myeshas (10/5): Best Massage - I had one of the best massages ever today done by Crystal she was very professional and followed every instruction I gave her on my deep tissue massage . The entire existence was a 10/10 followed by Amazing champagne 🥂Also Ashley the receptionist was charming .
775kente (10/5): Blessed hands - Ashley worked out some kinks I've had for over 30 years that I believe were stroke related. My mouth was slightly crooked and the left upper side of my body was like in a knot. I am so impressed with my results and am extremely grateful to have met her. Definitely will be my go-to from here on out.
