Guest Reviews
- michelle (10/5): With highly recommend this hotel don't miss out - Had a very nice room I can't say enough about the staff super helpful looked up bus lines for me arranged taxis in advance excellent spot
- Jan (10/5): - Sehr nettes, kleines Hotel, super liebe Menschen dort👏
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Schnuckeliges, kleines Hotel, sehr sauber. Lage relativ zentral, Umgebung gewöhnungsbedürftig. Aber immer wieder.
- Dóra (10/5): - This was our first time staying at this hotel as a family of three. Our room was quite big and had a balcony. Unfortunately, we found the mattress and pillows uncomfortable. The hotel has a nice garden and a play corner for little kids, which our one-year-old daughter really liked. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. The staff were friendly and helpful, we really liked the origami decorations.
- Mette-Marie (10/5): - Alles prima.
- Manuela (10/5): - In a very quiet neighbourhood, the hotel is within 20 minutes walking distance from the cultural centre. It was exceptionally clean and the room quite big and comfortable, so was the bed. The breakfast was plentiful with a variety of choice, incl. homemade preserves. The staff was nice and helpful. We can really recommend this little hotel.
- Jürgen (10/5): - Super Hotel; Sehr nette Beschäftigte; Tolle Gegend; Jederzeit wieder
- Julian (10/5): - Sehr freundlicher Service!
- Gerhard (10/5): - Sehr ruhige Lage. Gut mit dem ÖPNV zu erreichen. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereiches Personal.
- Nadine (10/5): - Sehr schöne, große Zimmer, alles sauber, ruhig, Personal mega nett! Kommen gerne wieder 👍👍😊
- Verified traveler (10/5): gelungener Aufenthalt - sehr schönes Hotel,
gutes Ambiente,
günstig gelegen
Preis-Leistung stimmt
- Gisela (10/5): - I booked from the States. Quiet location, single room quite sufficient, great tourist info, wonderful breakfast bar, even for me with vegan needs, only a 10 minute walk from the old town and all the tourist attractions. I highly recommended and would return to this little hotel.
- Norbert (8/5): - Alles Gut bis auf die Kopfkissen.
- Andreas (10/5): - Keine weiteren Bemerkungen
- Verified traveler (10/5): A recommander - Charmant hôtel dans un quartier résidentiel à 15 minutes à pied du centre historique. Accueil chaleureux, chambre décorée avec goût, très bonne literie. Buffet du petit-déjeuner varié. A recommander.
- Sabine (8/5): - Wir waren sehr zufrieden, vom Frühstück angefangen, Freundlichkeit, Sauberkeit, alles ok.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Prima unterkunft
- Gabriele (8/5): 50. Hochzeitstag - Das Hotel ist klein aber fein. Weimar ist für Kulturinteressierte ein Muss
- 804randys (4/5): I really wanted to like this place - We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2019. Here are my observations:
Pluses:
Quiet room on a side street about a 20 minute walk to the city center. Four parking spaces (we got one both nights). High ceilings and a big room. Twin beds were ok, not too soft or hard.
Minuses: No A/C. No coffee maker. No fan. No microwave. No refrigerator. No elevator & tricky stairs to 2nd floor; stay on the ground floor if you have balance or knee/back problems. Squeaky floors that will wake your partner in the night. Only heavy comforters on the bed. Way too hot at night (see no A/C above). The one staff person we met did not crack a smile once during our stay. The breakfast was very ordinary by German standards, but you can order eggs to your liking. No toaster. The Wifi was the slowest I have encountered since 1997 ;-)
Conclusion: At 102 Euros/night, the value was a C- I personally would not stay here again, but lovers of "quaint" hotels might want to give it a try...

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet, good location within walking distance of downtown, large room.
- Beekeeper (8/5): Three Days in Weimar - We were a couple and a dog visiting Weimar for three days.
Das Kleine Hotel is in an old villa type building in a quiet road near the centre of Weimar (10-15 min walk). There is also a No2 bus service, which we didn't use. It has been extensively modernised within and the room was large and airy. Tea and drinks were provided on the landing. Our hostess was kind and thoughtful (providing gluten free brotchen for my wife) although our knowledge of each others language limited our conversation. Breakfast was a simple continental buffet quite adequate for our needs. Off street parking is available.
We had a very pleasant stay.
- W5746OSdavidw (8/5): A lovely B&B in Weimar - This is a great place to stay when visiting Weimar. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. There is easy street parking outside. The town is 10 minutes walk away down quiet, residential streets. The kettle for making tea is on the landing, perched on top of the fridge at the top of the stairs. I would think that is a health and safety issue. Wifi is excellent, there are local newspapers downstairs. Rooms are on the first floor, up a windy staircase.
- andijah (10/5): Lovely family-owned quiet hotel - Located in an old house in a quiet residential street about 10 minutes away from the centre, the hotel is one of the friendliest I've ever been and breakfast is excellent.
Only drawback was the very loud fan in the bathroom and the shower had a mind of its own.
But overall highly recommended!
- Rosenau65 (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - I stayed for three nights in the Kleine Hotel Weimar. It is in a very quiet street about 500m from the centre of Weimar. It is very easy to park outside and a very short walk into the town. It was very convenient and all the sights of the town are easily accessed on foot. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast excellent. We arrived late and our room key was placed in the key safe on the wall. It is not a 'luxury' hotel but a very well and sensibly priced one. If you want the full frills of an international modern hotel, this is not for you, but if you want good value, quiet and comfort, then this is perfect.
Weimar is well worth visiting - the Goethe Haus, Bauhhaus Museum, Schloss, Amelia Library, churches and the Markt make it a delightful destinatiion. The Belvedere, a bus or taxi away is also well worth a visit. We also went out to Buchenwald Camp and Memorial, about twenty miniutes drive or bus to the north. This is not necessarily a 'comfortable' visit but a first class lesson in history, and a history that we need to rememember. All credit to the Germans for their courage and honesty in building and maintaining this memorial. There is also an very interesting exhibition on the Memorial itself, and its complex genesis under the DDR.
- RobertRx (10/5): Klein aber fein - This hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood 10 minutes walk from the city center. A pleasant place where everything has been thought of and where personal service fulfills any remaining wish. Good for a quiet sleep and a tasty breakfast. Drinks available, day and night, at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed this stay as much as the previous ones.
- RobL344 (10/5): Much more than meets the eye! - From the street, this looks 'average' but inside is welcoming, spacious and has a real family-feel. We stayed in room 1 and it was more like a flat; well furnished and clean. Had a cooker as well but we didn't use it. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner / hostess who went out of her way to make the stay extra special with little extras we'd not seen from 'bigger chain hotels'. For example, at breakfast there was always an A4 information sheet with local news and the weather forecast for the next 3 days. This was a nice touch and really helpful. As other guests have said, free wi-fi, plenty for breakfast, great service; all within walking distance of the old town and within a 10 euro taxi fare to the main station make this hotel a little gem of a place.
- elizabethmE9011TG (10/5): Clean, charming, perfect for the weary traveler. - Great hostess/owner who went to lengths to answer our questions, set up a little night cap to be waiting for us in advance, free wifi and computer for guests, more than ample breakfast if desired, walking distance to everything, free parking, but most of all immaculate room with comfortable bed and big windows; wonderful impression of Weimar right off the bat.
- KJN-Family (10/5): Would come again and again - We stayed here for three nights with our five and one year old boys.
Nice, comfortable, big, well-decorated rooms. Extremely clean! Beautiful, big, modern bathroom.
It was also very quiet, day and night, you could not hear a thing from outside your room.
The breakfast buffet was good and more than adequate, especially when you think that this hotel does not have many rooms.
The owner of this hotel is a very nice lady who runs it efficiently and friendly. She takes time to talk with her guests, attends their needs and offers a lot of good advice.
The hotel is walking distance from the city, about a good 10-15 minutes at a leisurely pace.
Please know, when you book hotels over a booking site, the hotels have to pay those sites 10-15% commission. Just contact the hotel directly via email and you usually get the best rates anyway...
I would come again and would recommend it warmly to family and friends! Thank you, Das Kleine Hotel!
