• Janse van Rensburg (10/5): The beach is quiet and lovely. It is a very quiet area and was perfect for what I wanted. - Stay was very comfy and clean. The sea view was exceptional. The staff was very kind and friendly and always ready to help. It is not a self catering unit and bringing a family is expensive if you need to do takeout everyday. The baby pool would have helped alot if it was filled with water to keep the children occupied. Aircon in the rooms will help alot

Theres also parking available at the property. Not sure if theres one communal kitchen, since I got to the lodge late at night.

• Markus (10/5): Perfect! - I can definitely recommend this lodge! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and I even got a free room upgrade with a stunning sea view. If you’re lucky, you can spot dolphins right from there as well. The location is perfect – all the good dive centers are just a 5-minute walk away, as are the restaurants. Right next to the lodge there’s also a nice pub with good food at fair prices.

Fenster waren zur Meerseite mit Folie beklebt sodass man nur bei geöffneten Fenster Meerbliclk hatte. Lage ist sehr einsam, lange Wege zu Restaurants etc. Zimmer und Ausstattung ok, aber schon älter. Meerwasserpool nicht nutzbar, es lag Müll im Wasser

• Verified traveler (2/5): Crimes committed - I’m a resident of the state of Texas, I did NOT come under the border as such our laws making this South African psy nonsense a crime are part of the RSA legal order. As an American clinician I know what is going on, I met an Irish EU citizen upon checkin she was drawn in and imprisoned in the dungeon room next to me, I could hear her tapping the wall because I smiled at her, this is just unacceptable unnatural and inhume in violation of my human rights, the international community has forced the RSA on its knees through sanctions before this is simply unacceptable.

• Alexander (4/5): Not a backpackers/ had two power outages. - The place is spotlessly clean, and there is access to a tidal pool and a regular pool, it has some absolutely gorgeous en-suite rooms. Nice thing about the place was that every room had its own fridge. This was advertised to me as having a backpackers area and that is what I was looking for just to make some holiday friends from the states N Europe N hang out, there is a nice BBQ area but the place is just dead and I got weird vibe, what I wanted was an affordable stay N to hang out with some new friends , so I booked aircon N WiFi, for the first week my aircon was traded for a seaview, I had to insist to get the room I booked, we were cautioned to conserve water because it was said the place was on a cistern,water was switched off at night, when the municipal water supply went out so did the water in the lodge so the owner was fibbing, then the shower had the weirdest hookup, it had a power line running to it that heated the cold water selection so all one could get was warm and hotter, I was scared by the electric running straight into the shower head so didn’t shower much, then you should take this place as having no WiFi in the rooms, I brought a premium router so I was able to connect but never from my phones or laptop, I use Apple so my devices were certainly not the problem, I had expected the fridge to be shared and to have access to a kitchen but this is not what was listed, it just struck me as weird but it was fair it did mean there was no place to wash dishes,

• Ryan (10/5): A piece of paradise for my weekend. - The lodge does not provide breakfast however the bar and restaurant does. Many breakfast options to choose from. I love the place, and I will def be back again soon. This was my 4th stay at the lodge. The views of the ocean are spectacular. Once you are there you do not feel like leaving. Chereece is an awesome host. Theres so many things to do at the Lodge as well, I had a full body massage as well as a pedicure - theres a massage therapist in the building. Theres also a salon if you want to get your hair done. All in all I had a delightful experience. Other things to consider - activities like WOW aviation school where you can do a aeroplane ride, as well as many charters to choose from to go on a boat ride. I didnt like the fact that Umkmoaas beach does not have its own lifeguards. Being a main beach, it definitely should have life guards. But that is no fault of the establishment just an Ethekweni issue. There are lots of people who still swim in the beach but for safety sake I drove down to Scottsburgh main beach where I found paid parking to park my car as well as a beautiful safe swimming beach. The facilities are top notch there.

All of the ladies that work here go Above and beyond for us. Our rooms had amazing views of the ocean and the restaurant next door is so good! The rooms are clean, spacious and cozy! We saw whales and dolphins from the room too! 10/10 Nothing bad to say!

Lovely ladies and ever ready to make your stay more enjoyable, even when we had a small problem, Chereece left everything aside in order to make sure we were comfortable. It's a place to relax and also fish if you want to, there's places close by that allows you to do more fun activities if you want something adventurous and come back to the view of the lovely ocean and peaceful crashing of the waves. I was impressed by how serene it was waking up to the beautiful view of the ocean 😍 thanks guy's for making my 1st time with my fiancée on a weekend away so memorable ❤️

• Paulene (10/5): Exceptional - My stay at Umkomaas Lodge was absolutely amazing. I booked for 2 days then decided to extend for a further 4 days. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The lodge is right on the beach so easy access to the beach and restaurant. The ocean view from the room was spectacular and I cannot wait to go back. • Donald (8/5): Wonderful staff, magnificent view and superb pub next door. - The welcome and service we received was outstanding especially from Chereece who went out of her way to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible. Our room was very clean and had air conditioning, a double door fridge, queen bed, lovely shower and exceptional view of the ocean. The pub next door, "Off The Hook", served the most amazing food at very competitive pricing. The owner should seriously consider investing in water tanks as this was our only problem and we are aware that some of the other guests were not happy at all. Once again, Chereece came to our rescue at considerable effort for which we are very grateful.
