Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): A pleasure to stay - This is a quiet, peaceful location which offers B&B. The owners were lovely friendly people and the breakfasts were delicious.
- Kylie (10/5): - Vida was a lovely host and cooked us a delicious breakfast. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful. The room was large and comfortable. It was a lovely stay.
- Paul (10/5): Stay in beautiful surroundings - Beautiful old vicarage located in a hamlet and surrounded by countryside. Lots of nice touches - dressing gowns, cookies, mini fridge with fresh milk.. scrambled egg and smoked salmon was delicious for breakfast. Would definitely recommend!
- Tim (10/5): - Lovely warm and welcoming host.
Comfortable bed (had best night's sleep) and luxury bathroom. Quiet location with a decent local pub in walking distance. Countryside views from the room and a beautiful garden.
- Julie (10/5): - This is a perfect spot for so many reasons, not least l the lovely hosts who made our stay extra enjoyable … thank you so much Vida and Alison. It is situated in a stunning part of the Cotswolds, overlooking the Golden Valley. The house is beautiful within a gorgeous setting. It is spotless and has everything we needed. I hope to return and explore more of the area.
- Lili (10/5): - Stayed for two nights in October and we had a great time. The property was in a quiet and secluded location with a lovely garden. We stayed in the Sleigh room which was spacious and overseeing the green pasture. Everything was immaculate. The attention to details such as bathrobes and hot water bottle was outstanding. Vida the host was attentive, friendly and helpful. We also liked the fact that the nearest pub was only 10 mins walk away. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly.
- Vijay (10/5): - Wonderful and quiet location. Just what we needed to relax
- Dr John (10/5): - Wonderful stay at the Old Vicarage. Vida made us feel very welcome. Our room was spacious, comfy bed, lovely decor, with beautiful views of the countryside. It was lovely looking out of our window and seeing the sheep grazing. Breakfast in the mornings was delicious, my husband enjoyed Vida’s scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. When driving to the Old Vicarage, best to ignore your sat nav and follow Vida’s directions. A few of the roads in the Cotswolds are extremely narrow.
- Mark (10/5): - A very charming building in a beautiful setting. Excellent food & service. I would highly recommend this as a base for exploring the countryside.
- Robert (10/5): - We had a very comfortable two-night stay in Vida's beautiful property. The room was spacious, clean and light with excellent amenities and the en suite bathroom was perfect.
- Jessica (10/5): Quiet and peaceful - We had a lovely mini-getaway for two nights this past weekend. The place is beautiful and tucked away from everything.
We did a bit of touring in the local area during the days and the old Vicarage was a great place to recharge and rest in the evening.
The hosts are lovely and we enjoyed our leisurely breakfast each morning.
- Cynthia (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at the Vicarage. It may be hard to get to (if you don’t use Vida’s directions), but it is well worth the effort. It’s a beautiful, peaceful location and Vida and Allison were so friendly and helpful!
- Keith (10/5): Idyllic stay - Absolutely beautiful B&B! Very idyllic. Nice pub 10 minute walk away. Wake up to the sun streaming through the windows and cute sheep grazing out your window. Vida is lovely and the accommodations great.
- Lois (10/5): - Spotlessly clean, beautiful room with lovely outlook and very quiet.
Owner friendly and helpful.
Would thoroughly recommend
- Charles (10/5): Old Vicarage - Beautiful location, lovely friendly attentive host. Amazing scrumptious breakfast.
- Trudi (10/5): - Lovely quiet location with a charming host, would thoroughly recommend
- MICHAEL L (10/5): - We couldn't have made a better choice for our stay in the Cotswolds. Vida was an excellent host and we absolutely loved the the old vicarage and Oakridge Lynch. If you're looking for an authentic Cotswolds experience and not just another tourist trap this is definitely the place to stay.
- Vince (10/5): A perfect place to unwind. - This is a wonderful place to have a relaxing break. The sleigh room has a great view across the fields and valley. No light polution and no noise at all. Occasionaly deer graze in the field which is lovely to see. Vida is a friendly and attentive host giving great advise on travel and local sight seeing. Her 2 dogs are incredibly friendly which to us is a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful with home made jams, and the cookies were superb. The local pub is good value with very tasty food. Please please do follow Vida's instructions for driving the the Vicarage. You MUST come into the village from the North as the roads to the south are not for the feint hearted and not worth the agro of a short cut.

- david (10/5): A warm welcome - A warm welcome from Alison at this gem of a B&B tucked away in the Cotswolds.
- Mark (10/5): - Wonderful everything
Loved it
Will be back
- Jon (10/5): Full of character - A perfect break in a lovely house, full of character, with very friendly hosts. I will be returning- again.
- Erik (10/5): - Amazing attention from Vida! Comfortable and clean place to spend a weekend in the Cotswold
- H (10/5): - Beautiful rustic place. Bedroom was a lovely size and the hostess put on a lovely breakfast spread, as well as being very engaging to talk to and extremely helpful in suggestions of what to see and do.
- Gregory (10/5): - Peaceful retreat. Excellent service. Very nice breakfast. Thank you!
- Dan (10/5): - An absolute gem of a find in the Cotswolds. Vida has presented a beautiful stay with an even better breakfast. I'll say that dining options are a little limited in the local area, but this comes part and parcel of the remote setting. Its not an issue for someone used to a 5-10 minute drive for everything, but your average city resident may be surprised.
- Donald (10/5): - Our stay was simply superb. We stayed in the UK for 2.5 weeks, many of the accomodations were 5 stars but this was by far the best! The breakfast was excellent where the host even made fresh warm pastries! We loved the fresh berries, salmon, eggs etc, so many beautiful high quality choices. Vida is lovely and so thoughtful. Our room was impeccable with views and so comfortable and peaceful. The location is worth the amazing drive there, it’s really the most beautiful place. The Crown Inn pub nearby is a gorgeous old pub that has character and excellent service. Of all places in lakes district, the highlands, London, Edinburgh and York our absolute favourite is the Old Vicarage at Oakridge. Thank you for having us we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your amazing property. We hope to stay again. Susanna and Donald Leigh - Australia
- Roman (4/5): - Was not aware that dogs are living on the property. End up not staying there.
- Natasha (10/5): Beautiful! - Absolutely amazing stay. Beautiful room in an equally beautiful place. Views were great and all very peaceful. The owners were very nice and welcoming. Definitely will book again.
- Grant (10/5): - Fantastic
- Tony (10/5): wow - the most wonderful relaxing place to stay , topped by wonderful hosts . would highly recommend
- Chris (10/5): - lovely place, lovely people.
- Robert (10/5): Wonderful. - Spotlessly clean rooms and a very warm welcome. An absolute delight.
- Sonia (10/5): Perfect stay - Beautiful accommodation and friendly hosts! Beautiful views out the room and big spacious rooms perfect for couples! Its a bit of a drive away from the cotswold attractions but not too far of a drive
- David (10/5): - Everything was superb. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Perfect for a weekend out of the city.
- Clifford (10/5): Amazing - Truly wonderful experience, the hosts (mother and daughter) made us feel welcome and part of the family. The two well behaved dogs were a joy to be with. The property was beautiful with ample grounds to stroll. The village is very quiet and has a small friendly pub. We will be back for longer next time. Thank you ladies for a wonderful couple of nights.
- Riyaz (10/5): - A hidden gem in a great location with stunning views and service with a smile. The accommodation is beautifully presented by the owner and provides a peaceful and tranquil base for exploring the Cotswolds. A unique
property that will not disappoint!
- WILLIAM (10/5): Highly recommended - Fabulous 5 day stay. Excellent host, clean room with plenty of space. Extensive views from room window where regular wildlife was spotted.
- Dominic (10/5): - Lovely and quiet. Spacious room and nice views
- NIGEL (10/5): - Alison & Vida are amazing hosts
Property and Grounds superb
Great, high quality rooms
- Kelly (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Lovely location, quiet and out of the way. Good place to base yourself if you have a car to come home and relax. Nice pub nearby just a few minutes walk. Good breakfast. Big comfortable rooms. Lovely hosts.
- Peter (10/5): Excellent. - We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this B and B. Lovely big room, gorgeous breakfast, peaceful and a great place to use as a base to see the Cotswolds. Run by a mother and her daughter. Not the cheapest place to stay but is in line with Cotswold prices and certainly one of the best places to stay.
- Claire (10/5): - Beautiful location, fabulous property, stunning accommodation, delicious breakfasts and friendly helpful host, nothing was to much trouble!! I cannot recommend this property enough for couples or those wanting to stay in a quiet location that is easily accessible to many beautiful places plus the local pub is only a 10 minute walk if you want to leave the car after a busy day sightseeing or walking, perfect break!!
- Barry (10/5): Lovely place to stay - We stayed for two nights and it was peaceful and comfortable.
We chose smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast which was delicious. Everything is spotlessly clean and the people are lovely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Enjoyable stay, beautiful accommodation, thank you for having us.
- Toby (10/5): Wonderful Getaway - Absolutely wonderful stay at the Old Vicarage for a weekend getaway. We stayed in the Sleigh Room - very warm/cozy, with a large comfortable bed and great bathroom with excellent rain shower. Nice views over the meadow too with some deer knocking around, and only a short walk to the local pub which is a friendly local. There are only two rooms which made the stay very peaceful, and Vida and Alison were very friendly hosts. Breakfast great too, not to mention the dogs. Five stars all round
- Laura (10/5): Would give it more than 5 stars! - We loved everything about our stay - the exclusivity and seclusion, the delicious breakfasts, the tasteful decor and the beautiful walks right on the doorstep. But what made it so special was how our host went out of her way for us - she gave us great pub options, detailed walking recommendations, a handwritten note on arrival and restocked the log fire each night. The only difficulty was in deciding which breakfast was best - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or freshly made pastries?
- Michael (10/5): A base in the country - Excellent short break away, beautiful location and a wonderful host, very helpful.
- Keith (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful
- Thomas (10/5): Brilliant - Excellent and friendly staff. Thank you very much!
- C (10/5): Perfect stay in a beautiful place - Lovely room, beautifully decorated, fabulous breakfast, charming and incredibly helpful hosts, great location, everything about this wonderful B&B was perfect!
- So Chung (10/5): Peaceful & Wonderful Retreat - Friendly host and team. A beautiful and tranquil village. Delcious breakfast. Well situated in Cotswold. A hidden gem.
- Mohammad (10/5): Comfortable and enjoyable stay - An excellent place to stay and explore the Cotswold, we had a really comfortable stay and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Just make sure you get good directions as SatNavs (tried Google Maps, Waze and built in car SatNav) would guide you through very narrow country lanes (one car width), alternative route as advised by the host is quick and much easier for driving.
- Julie (10/5): - Wonderful, great hosts, idyllic location
- Jennifer (10/5): Stunning luxury B&B - We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Old Vicarage. The house and gardens are stunning and Vida and her mother were the most welcoming hosts. Nothing was too much trouble! The house was spotless and our room (The Sleigh Room) was very comfortable. Breakfast was a delicious offering of cereals, fruit, toast, porridge and some freshly cooked items. They were incredibly careful and respectful about Covid too which was really reassuring. Don't hesitate for a second to book, the Old Vicarage is a hidden gem! Thank you so much for making our trip so special.
- paul (10/5): - Lovely accommodation in a quiet spot, just want you would want in the Cotswolds
