- Katelijne (10/5): We zijn verwend! - Wat een mooi groot prachtig schoon hotel. Ontbijt iedere ochtend verse producten, lief personeel, heerlijk schoon zwembad. Wat leuk was ‘s avonds gaan de lampjes aan en heb je wat te kijken vanaf je balkon. De masseuses waren ook goed, wisten precies hoe ze de stijve spieren moesten masseren. - Helen (9/5): Relax hete after travelling - Wonderful place to stay after our African Safari for 3 nights . Staff are great and the setting and building are outstanding. Airport transfer is free. Trips to town are convenient and well priced Says its in Stone town but its a little away . It's fine you just need to get a taxi or transport from the hotel. Don't try to walk you'll get lost in the narrow streets!!

Swimming pool and beach availble the beach can be used in the afteroon due to the sea level. Stone town is 10 min. Taxi or 15/20 in rush hours. Great bar coctayls at reasonble price despite hotel ranking. Breackfast halal but rich at yhe level you expect for this hotel Nothing .
- elenadanese (9/5): Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo: un incanto tra mare e piscina vicino al volo di rientro - Ho trascorso una vacanza meravigliosa in questa struttura e non posso che consigliarla a tutti. L'hotel è semplicemente sfarzoso, con un'architettura curata che ti fa sentire subito in un paradiso di lusso. Ecco i punti che mi hanno colpito di più: Le Camere: Veramente enormi! C’è tantissimo spazio e la pulizia è impeccabile. Il punto forte è stato sicuramente il balcone: svegliarsi ogni mattina con la doppia vista sul mare cristallino e sulla piscina dell'hotel è stato un sogno. Ristorazione: Il cibo del buffet è di ottima qualità. C’era sempre molta varietà e tutto era cucinato con cura, dai piatti locali a quelli internazionali. Personale: Uno dei valori aggiunti della struttura. Sono tutti estremamente gentili, sorridenti e pronti ad aiutarti per ogni minima esigenza. In sintesi, un soggiorno perfetto sotto ogni punto di vista. Se cercate eleganza e comfort a Zanzibar, questo è il posto giusto! Illuminazione serale: Le lampade ai lati del letto, pur essendo esteticamente molto belle (quasi dei piccoli lampadari ribassati), risultano eccessivamente luminose per le ore serali. Sarebbe l'ideale aggiungere delle luci da lettura orientabili o delle lampade con luce più soffusa, così da poter creare un'atmosfera più rilassante e "soft" prima di dormire senza illuminare a giorno l'intera stanza. Manutenzione doccia: Il design della doccia è carino, ma abbiamo riscontrato un piccolo problema tecnico con la guarnizione della porta. Purtroppo non riesce a sigillare bene la chiusura, causando la fuoriuscita di acqua che finisce per bagnare costantemente il pavimento del bagno. Una piccola revisione alla guaina risolverebbe il problema, garantendo maggiore comfort e sicurezza. Volevo dedicare un appunto specifico alla nostra esperienza alla SPA. Le due ragazze che hanno effettuato il massaggio sono state assolutamente brave e capaci dal punto di vista tecnico, tuttavia abbiamo riscontrato alcune mancanze nella professionalità durante la seduta. In diverse occasioni il massaggio è stato interrotto per 2-3 minuti perché le operatrici sembravano distratte a controllare il cellulare o a sbrigare affari personali. Inoltre, capitava che parlassero tra di loro, seppur brevemente e a voce bassa. In un momento dedicato al relax assoluto, queste distrazioni rompono l'atmosfera e tolgono attenzione al cliente. È un peccato, perché la qualità del massaggio in sé era ottima, ma la cura del dettaglio e la presenza costante dovrebbero essere una priorità in una struttura di questo livello

- Holta (9/5): - The hotel has a very good location close to the airport and the Stone Town. If you want to go to other parts of the island, there are tours and also private taxi that take you wherever you want and wait for you to drive back to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Staf is very polite and friendly. Overall very nice hotel. The only minor things that we did not like is the roumors of the chairs from the floor above you that is very loud. And also the hotel needs some renovations.

- Gil (1/5): - The gym was well equipped considering it's size Unfortunately, my stay at Medina Taubahir was very disappointing. The room was not in acceptable condition. There was visible mold, which is a serious hygiene issue and made the stay uncomfortable and concerning from a health perspective. This should never happen in a hotel that welcomes guests. The staff did not appear to be properly trained. Basic requests were handled poorly, communication was inefficient, and overall there was a lack of professionalism and attention to guests. The food was also far below expectations. The quality was poor, the options were very limited, and meals were not enjoyable at all. Overall, the hotel is completely ruined down ,the experience did not match the standards advertised, and I would not recommend this hotel. Significant improvements are needed in cleanliness, staff training, and food quality

- Daniela (10/5): It was a very pleasant stay. Thank you! - We got an upgarade for all the booked rooms. There were some nice compliments in the room. Everything was very clean, airport transfer was profesionally executed. The manager who was on duty at our very late arrival was very kind. The pool looked nice although we didn't use it. The view from our room was great. The breakfast could be a bit better for the rating of the hotel, but I assume everybody was very tired after the celebration on 31.12.

- gomez (10/5): Notre court séjour a été exceptionnel - Le petit déjeuner était extraordinaire. Le personnel très gentil et très à l’écoute . Le responsable de l’hôtel a été super et très arrangeant. On vient vous chercher à l’aéroport et on vous y ramène gratuitement.
- Tonya (7/5): An overall relaxing, stay in beautiful accommodations - Very expansive hotel space. The common areas of the hotel were beautiful and well kept. The prices in the hotel gift shop were surprisingly reasonable, better than the markets. We were greeted with welcome drinks by friendly staff, and our luggage was brought to our rooms. The room was comfortable. A full kitchen with snacks and drinks was provided. The hotel offered several other amenities, like a hair salon, that made for convenience, although I didn’t use them all. The breakfast and dinner dining options at the general restaurant offered a good variety. Eggs are made to order as well as pancakes and waffles. Smoothies also available. Dining and breakfast could be purchased at an additional charge if you did not include it in your booking. Just a generally relaxing atmosphere overall at this location. the dining options were limited compared to the size of the hotel. We booked the three bedroom family suite. There was some discrepancy in the room type that we received and how the room was described by Booking.com. The room itself also had a moldy smell and the decor seemed outdated, but I believe that is the style the hotel is going for.

- Lana (9/5): Overall our stay was lovely. Thanks! - Room upgrades, early check in, delicious food and lots of varieties in the buffet. We liked that there was always an available van for transportations. Free transportations from and to the airport comes with the reservation. The hotel has a nice sunset view on the ocean, and nice locations to take photos. They also offer many water bottles in the room and fills the fridge with free soft drinks and snacks. There is a souvenir shop in the hotel that sells lots of great stuff in good price. Close to stone town and the airport, and you can do the trip to prison island and Jozani from there. They gave a fresh coconut drink to pilots and for us only a small glass of juice. City tax was taken multiple times, every time we check in, even though we have paid it before. Beach is public and not really accessible, and not possible to swim in it.

Want to mention them all but Akshit, Loveness, Raqib and Christopher stood out! Really helpful as well. Would definitely spend my time there as my permanent residence in Zanzibar! Chef was on fire! The inability to assist me with exchanging one evening, had to go to the ATM then just to tip the driver instead of swiping or charging to the room. Wish there was a way to get cash on or closer to the property.
- Dirk (10/5): - The beginning was a little bumpy yet after I addressed my concerns, the management in all departments including frontdesk and F&B went out of there way to make this visit for my mother and me even more memorable than expected. I have visit over 200 hotels world-wide in the last three years, and witnessed a combined effort to make things more than right for us. Since I was working as an F&B Manager on a few cruise ships with years of training in Europe and experience in 5 Star leading Hotel worldwide, I was truly impressed. Next to a dinner invitation we were honored with a massive room upgrade with no questions asked. The staff was always extremely friendly and forcoming. I can definitely recommend this magnificent looking Hotel.

- Suleiman (6/5): Good stay but not quite 5 Star - Madinat Al Bahr has a lot going for it. The architecture is striking, the location is peaceful, and staff are warm and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay overall, but it does not quite hold up to the 5-star standard it advertises. The room was spacious and comfortable, but small details stood out. On arrival I found an ironing board but no iron. Once I requested one, staff brought an iron but the board had disappeared, apparently shared among guests. When I did use it, the only sockets were tucked behind the bedside tables, so quite a bit of manoeuvring was required. The TV picture was static with a line across it, and in the bathroom a small trickle of water appeared on the floor from the sink. When I checked in, the bed was decorated with colourful covers and cushions, but after the first clean this was gone, and my four pillows reduced to three. Granted this was a Standard room, but the basics should not differ. Food was definitely a let down. Mie nlitaka chapati, haragwe, pilau, michuzi kila aina. Instead, the menu leaned heavily toward international cuisine. While it makes sense for foreign guests, one restaurant dedicated to local food would have been a real highlight. The hotel advertises six restaurants but in practice I only found two. The property is beachfront, but worth noting the beach is public. Overall, not a bad place to stay. Staff, setting, and pool are positives, but it falls short of polished 5-star service.
- Elisa (8/5): Plutôt bien pour un court séjour - Hôtel bien placé sur Stone Town, proche de l’aéroport. Une belle piscine vue mer. Les chambres sont jolies et propres. Le buffet du restaurant n’est pas très varié et le service du midi est très long. Certains membres du personnel du restaurant ne sont pas très agréables, pour le reste du personnel nous sommes tombés sur des personnes plutôt sympathiques. Notre séjour n’a duré que 2 jours dans cet hôtel avant de repartir pour notre safari, nous n’y serons pas restés plus longtemps mais l’hôtel est sympa pour un court séjour. Buffet peu varié, service du midi très long, certains membres du personnel peu agréable au restaurant.

Der SPA Bereich war für mich das Highlight....Massage auf der Dachterrasse dazu der leichte stets erfrischende Wind und die sehr professionelle Massage war toll. Bei genauer Betrachtung wäre an vielen Stellen des Hotels mit leichten Rennovierugsarbeiten schnelle und wünschenswert Verbesserung möglich. Wäre auch dem Preis geschuldet.

Les chambres dégagent une forte odeur d’humidité et de moisissure masquée par un parfum entêtant, ce qui a presque provoqué une crise d’asthme à mon épouse. J’ai dû changer deux fois de chambre avant d’en trouver une plus spacieuse et mieux aérée. La nourriture est correcte avec un buffet satisfaisant, mais le niveau reste loin des standards d’un vrai 5*

It was really worth it. - Madinat Al Bahr is a very tastefully created hotel with lovely view of the western coast of Zanzibar from its sea facing rooms. It is very well maintained with personal interest taken by its Indian GM, Indian FO Manager, Indian F &B manager and even the Indian Chef. All of them really took good care of us.
