The staff service made our experience so special, especially Ersoy and Tanya. We went in April and had a couple of days of rain and it being a little chilly, however on arrival Ersoy had put the heating on in our room and Tanya greeted us with an umbrella the next morning for breakfast, which was so lovely. Ersoy gave us the most attentive and exceptional customer service during the breakfast and whenever we had a meal. Tanya was always on hand to help with whatever we needed, nothing was too much trouble. The food and coffee was delicious. This resort was so relaxing, beautiful surroundings and pools. We had the best night sleep on their comfortable bed and pillows. The wildlife really makes the place special too. There were chickens wandering on the grass in the mornings and we saw peacocks and geese aswell, it was absolutely beautiful. Nothing

The gardens are full of life with dogs, cats, chickens and even peacocks which gives it a really relaxed feel. We both had online meetings and needed to upload documents, and the connection never dropped or slowed down. For business travelers, this makes a big difference. Die gesamte Anlage ist ein Traum – eingebettet in einen über Jahre gewachsenen Dschungel und umgeben von zwei grossen Pools. Die Bungalows sind zwar ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, doch genau das verleiht ihnen heute einen ganz besonderen Charme. Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet eine mehr als ausreichende Auswahl, und das Personal ist stets aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Für uns ist das Layla Göcek eine wahre Oase abseits des Trubels – ein Ort, an den man unbedingt zurückkehren möchte. Wir empfehlen dieses Hotel zu 100 % weiter!

- Marvin (10/5): - The hotel Layla Gocek, is a hidden jem, it is a little bit of paradise on the outskirts of Gocek. It is a family run establishment and you feel like part of that family. The outside gym was great as were the 2 lagoon pools, the swim up pool bar was an added bonus. The whole establishment was being continually cleaned. You could have been in Thailand or Bali, everyone was amazing. We will definitely be going back and my advice is.... Try it yourself.
- Dennis (4/5): Desværre ikke som forventet trods høj rating! - Vi har været på mange hotelophold rundt omkring i verden, men ikke oplevet så uprofessionelt “hotel” som dette! Det hele startede med at vores velkomst ved receptionen, som ingen receptionist havde. Da der så endelig kom en receptionist blev vi informeret meget lidt om faciliteterne. På selve værelset var der masser af mangler! Der var rester af master insekter på værelset. Ingen telefon til akutte situationer. Poolen blev kun renset en enkelt dag på de 4 nætter vi var der. Området var meget pænt, med palmer osv. Priserne er 3 dobling af hvad de koster ude i byen! Ejerne af hotellet hilser kun på deres venner og familie. Vi havde dialog med andre på Hotellet, som også oplevede det samme. Så der var forskelsbehandling. Det er kun hotellets arbejdere der hilser på turisterne. Stranden som der vises billeder af på hotellets bestillingsside er det rene fup! Det er en offentlig strand, så her skal du selv medbringe solseng osv. Saunaen som vi fandt frem til tændes kun ved bestilling, ellers skal der spares. Morgenmadsbuffet er kedelig. Det eneste positive er deres bar som er i poolen og deres massør som gør et godt stykke arbejde!

Ortak alanda tavuklar horozlar kopekler geziyor surekli ve hijyen acisindan cok rahatsiz edici. Yemek yedigim masaya 2dk once hayvan ciksin istemem. Tavuklar kendi arasinda kavga ediyor ve rahat kahvalti bile yapamadik. Cok fazla ari var. Bunun bir cozumu var mi bilmem ama tavuklar icin kesinlikle var. Aksam yemegi ve ambiyans şıktı. Kokteyller ve aksam yemegi ederinin uzerinde pahali. Huzurlu bir ortam fakat daha ozenli olmali. 3 bardaktan 2si kirli olamamaliydi. Hijyen nedeniyle tekrar gelmem fakat calisanlar kibar ve guleryuzlu yollari acik olsun.

Leider wurde dieser gute Eindruck stark durch zahlreiche negative Erfahrungen überschattet. Der Service war insgesamt enttäuschend. Auf meine Bitte, die Sauberkeit im Badezimmer zu verbessern, wurde nicht eingegangen. Die Zimmer wirkten ungepflegt, mit modrigem Geruch, und in einer ganzen Woche wurde die Bettwäsche nicht gewechselt. Auch das WLAN funktionierte in den Zimmern kaum. Ein weiterer gravierender Kritikpunkt betrifft die Verpflegung. Das Frühstück stand ungekühlt und teilweise sogar in der Sonne. Es war wenig abwechslungsreich und hygienisch bedenklich – ein Blick in die Küche bestätigte dies: Lebensmittel lagerten direkt auf dem erdigen Boden, die Zustände wirkten insgesamt katastrophal. Leider führte dies bei mir zu einer Lebensmittelvergiftung mit drei Tagen Urlaubsausfall. Auch das Abendessen überzeugte nicht – sowohl die Auswahl als auch der Geschmack waren einfallslos. Zusätzlich war es störend, dass sehr viele Gäste Hunde mitbrachten, die frei über das Gelände liefen, teils sogar auf den Sonnenliegen lagen. Dass es sich offenbar um ein „Hundehotel“ handelt, war vorher nirgends ersichtlich. Fazit: Trotz schöner Anlage und Lage am Naturstrand überwiegen die negativen Punkte deutlich.Finger weg!

- boobulinan (2/5): FILTHY RAT’S NEST - A filthy, stinking, pest-infested, and noisy dump. Don’t be fooled by the fake, carefully staged photos posted by the property. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. At first glance, when you arrive, it all looks idyllic—this illusion collapses within minutes of checking-in. We experienced countless problems during our stay at Layla Gocek. Upon checking into one of the main building rooms (Santos), we discovered the ceiling collapsing due to a water leak. The staff’s “solution” was to move us to one of the garden bungalows (Palmiye). That turned out to be far worse. After just a short while in this room, we were horrified to find RAT DROPPINGS on the bed, and the entire place was INFESTED with droppings—photos attached. When we demanded a solution, we were moved later that afternoon to another garden bungalow, where we spent the night surrounded by spiders and crawling insects. The bathroom was in a disgusting state, again, photographic proof provided. The next morning, after informing hotel management we refused to stay in the filthy garden bungalows, we were moved to our fourth room: Eucalyptus. Once again, this room failed to meet even the most basic standards of hygiene. Ants and other bugs roamed freely on the walls, there was mold in the shower, and the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Farm animals such as chickens, peacocks, and rabbits, and domestic animals like cats and dogs wander freely across the property, leaving droppings all over the ground and terrace furniture. This turns the entire hotel into a magnet for flies and bees. These insects swarm over all the breakfast buffet food, despite the half-hearted attempt to cover some dishes with plastic wrap. The hotel restaurant’s food is not only overpriced but utterly terrible—nothing like the delicious Turkish cuisine we enjoyed elsewhere during our trip. One night, they organized a so-called Turkish dinner with live music that blasted late into the night, making sleep impossible. Finally, the Wi-Fi barely reaches several rooms, making the stay even more frustrating. We deeply regret wasting three nights of our wonderful trip in this dreadful hotel, and we sincerely hope others are lucky enough to avoid it.

Main course served up whilst still eating starters, and plonked down on top of starters plate! Staff members seemed totally untrained. We also had a child running around the pool which is a no no in an adult only hotel. Checked out early. Such a shame as this place could be stunning with the right management.
- Dreamer293978 (2/5): Dated and dirty rooms in main hotel - Four of us from a G Adventures tour spent one night of a scheduled 3-day stay in the main hotel in early April 2025. Our rooms and the reception were dated and dirty, and the linens were worn and filthy with stains, blood spatters, hair and dirt. The so-called restaurant/bar had only an overpriced, mediocre bottle of white wine available and nothing but soup and French fries for dinner. Breakfast isn’t available until 9 am and was a pathetic offer of white bread, cheese and cold mezzes. A used and apparently permanent pee pad for a coddled dog did not enhance the ambience. Beware the beautiful Bengal cat: he hops on tables and sprayed the back of one member of our party after being riled up by staff. We packed our bags and left the following morning. Sure hope the cottages are in better condition but the unhygienic restaurant should be shut down. This hovel is highly overpriced and overrated.

- M2745SLjuliam (6/5): Not the best - I am interested to see that so many recent reviews are excellent which is why we booked to go for a week in October. On first appearances it seemed a lovely oasis as someone mentioned, but we arrived at the end of the season and it felt that despite fewer guests staying we were very much bottom of the pile when it came to priorities. The day we arrived there were a number of people milling about as there had been a wedding and so our first breakfast was fantastic with a big spread laid out. That was the first and last time we saw it. The rest of our stay there was nothing laid out and there were no menus. I think they assumed we would just want an omelette as we were British. So each morning that seemed to be the one option. Little things were missing whilst charging premium prices as mentioned before. No staff in sight when you wanted something. Many times we went searching for any staff during the day. Reception not manned half the time and also dusty and very tired as previously mentioned. The toilet off reception was dirty with bin full and overflowing and not a nice smell. Drain smell. I saw on the pics initially that there were chickens/cockerells etc, but I didn't realise that they plus two dogs, cats and peacocks roamed freely around the restaurant area and sunbeds around the pool. Dogs begging at the table with their head on your lap, cats rubbing against your legs whilst eating and then cats and dogs lying all over the towels on the sunbeds - I like animals but not when I'm eating. Also staff think that is okay and so they don't call them away. Staff were polite but only one spoke English and half the time the staff didn't understand you. I think in an international hotel you need to have staff who speak different languages. The owners were lounging around the hotel and pool. Wifi was good in the reception area but dodgy elsewhere which caused an issue as we were on a working holiday. The cheapest bottle of wine was £50 so we stuck to beer. Plates were small for £££ Lastly they were doing maintenance work (drilling etc) for a day while we were trying to relax around the pool. We asked them to stop but we pretty much got ignored by the workmen and the staff. Coffee is terrible and if you want one from the barista coffee machine you have to wait till midday to get one. No exceptions it seemed. On the last day the waiter from the restaurant literally stalked us having kept distant for our stay. It was rather creepy in fact. He couldn't do enough for us but it was overkill. We realised he wanted a tip which we gave to him, but it really put us off. Bikes which were advertised were all broken Yoga which was advertised was not available till later in the month Massage which was advertised was not available as the masseuse had gone on holiday which the hotel didn't seem to know about. Unfortunately we won't be returning.
- joannepU5952LQ (4/5): Not as expected - The hotel managers and team did not seem to care about us. They had a cyclist group that seemed to take precedence and we all had inferior rooms. Some had sewage smell in the bathroom. We needed an early breakfast one day but they were not interested in opening earlier than 9:00 am for breakfast. We also had a dinner there that was terrible. Nothing was ready at the same time. Some had cold appetizers after everyone had their main. They didn’t offer any compensation. Better service is needed.

Benim dikkatimi çeken fine dining gibi görünen Doa rastaurantıydı ama tam bir hayal kırıklığı. Öğlen gidince bir hamburger ile denemek istedim ki akşam yemeğini kesinlikle otelde yemek istiyordum. Ama maalesef standart altı bir lezzette hamburger ve patates geldi. Yanındaki patateslerden tutun ketçap mayonez dışında sos bile koyulmadı, yok denildi. Bitirmeme yakın nasıl hardal ya da başka sos olmaz dediğimde var diyip getirildi. Sonra akşam yemeğinden vazgeçtim çünkü o fiyata çok daha lezzetli yemekler yerdim. Gece otele gelince yine bir şans verip tatlı söylemek istedim. Çikolatalı mousse odadaki su bardağıyla aynı bardakta servis yapıldı. Ertesi gün kahvaltı da yediğim en kısıtlı ve lezzetsiz kahvaltıydı üzgünüm yabancılar anlamayabilir ama kahvaltı Türkler için önemlidir. Kuru domates suda ıslatılıp zeytinyağı ile servis edilir, kuru haliyle koyulmaz. Ezine ya da beyaz peynir yoktu. Menemen aşırı lezzetsizdi,vs Çıkışta ise yemek ücretlerine servis bedeli eklemek tam bir fiyasko, otel müşterisine bu muameleyi yapmanız bir kenara zaten yasal değil. Ayrıca odalarda ne telefon ne televizyon var. Özellikle telefon olmadan acil bir durumda nasıl ulaşabiliriz? Banyoda, odada düşme vs cep telefonla ulaşmaya çalıştığımda cevap alamadım zaten havlu kirli diye gidip aldım. Otel güzel ama işletme sınıfta kaldı.

- MarcoGalperin (10/5): Paradise, for me - This is a magical place- truly unique. It is stunningly beautiful- from the pools, to the seating areas, to the wildlife walking around. The peacocks, roosters and (very tame) dogs were a joy. The rooms were comfortable. The staff were delightful; all of them, though I only remember Hassan by name. All were so kind to my elderly mother. I met some charming and interesting people- the kind this oasis would attract. I spend a quarter of my life on holiday and this place was beyond special.

Food is amazing, one of the best you can eat at gocek, rooms are relaxing and super clean, the staff is super friendly. It was an exceptional experience! Sweet staff. Great breakfast complete with sparkling wine. Easy taxi ride into town, but we found it so lovely we mainly stayed on the property.

Gocek is less than 10 minutes in a Taxi. The staff can not do enough for you, we loved our stay at Layla so much that we've decided to return next year.

- nicolakX4710QS (10/5): Exceptional hotel - a real gem - A truly unique and exceptional hotel! More like an private paradise retreat than a hotel. There is a truly personal touch in everything. The interior design of the main hotel is so stunning, with beautiful antiques and paintings. The food was really outstanding and great service. I walked around barefoot for 5 days - there was no need for shoes!
- Robert (8/5): - Although our overall rating of the Layla is ‘good’ it could have been so much better if the staff were better managed and trained. (If you’re a Brit think Fawlty Towers!) The hotel and setting has a Balinese feel, almost tropical, with 2 beautiful pools. We stayed in 2 rooms both of which could only be described as ‘rustic’ in terms of quality but there was a certain charm and uniqueness which, if you could see beyond the dirty footprints in the carpet and mould in the showers, was quite enchanting. The beds and bedding were very comfortable but for some reason our cups and glasses weren’t cleaned or changed during our whole stay and we had to constantly ask for more tea and coffee supplies as these weren’t topped up every day. The property description is somewhat misleading. There is no spa or gym, and when we asked for a massage we were told that the woman wouldn’t come but we could take a taxi to her place. Children were also present for most of our stay so not ‘adult only’ as described. The inclusive breakfast is fantastic but slightly haphazard. One day plentiful and another not! Breakfast is served in a garden pavilion where you are accompanied by cats, dogs, chickens and peacocks, again very charming. We also had lunch and dinner a number of times all of which were of excellent quality but responsibility for taking orders and serving seems to fall on the shoulders of one guy despite other staff seemingly being present which doesn’t make sense.

It is like an oasis, away from everything else, in its own little universe with beautiful roosters, chickens, peacocks, dogs, ducks, etc. It is beautifully designed and decorated. It is like Bali in Turkey. The only downside for us was the poor management. The head of staff was extremely stressed and unfortunately his mood was not matching the beautiful and relaxing surroundings. We are surprised how the management did not pick up on that because most guests did. At times, we were scared of asking for anything fearing his negative or defensive reaction. The newly built second pool has opened while we were there and there were some construction still going on around it. We thought that this could have already finished before the season has begun. All in all Layla is a lovely place. With a little bit more care and professional management, it would be unbeatable.
- Sunshine00708428941 (10/5): An oasis of peace & calm - A family run business that does not disappoint, from the moment we arrived to the time we had to leave we were treated like one of the family. The location is situated in an oasis of Flora & fauna, with a wonderful backdrop of huge palm trees that give a wonderful tropical atmosphere. There are a family of chickens, ducks & peacocks that freely wander around the premises & guests are welcome to bring their dogs with them so excellent for animal lovers. The hotel is exquisitely decorated with interesting antiquities collected over the years with great attention to detail. The rooms are well equipped with toiletries & are kept extremely clean by the housekeeping staff. All the staff can't do enough to make your stay as special as possible, a big shout out to Ersoy the Food & beverage manager whose attention to detail & professionalism is second to none, to Mustaffa who makes a mean cocktail & to Poyraz & Arda the waiting staff who were attentive & very polite. Tania who deals with the reception & bookings always had a smile for you & was extremely helpful. The pool is a good size , my own personal preference would be that the music starts a little too early 9.00am, being so close to nature it would be nice to hear the birds & the bees for a little while longer. The beach is a 10 minute walk away & Gocek a 10 minute cab ride so the hotel is very well situated. We stayed for two weeks & we left feeling well & truly spoilt & very well rested. We thank the whole family for making us feel so welcome & we will definitely be returning.

An extremely friendly and obliging welcome from all the personnel. Live music poolside at supper (not all nights). A lovely start to a pleasant break.
- battcottage (10/5): A little gem - Hidden away but just a 10 minute walk from the beach this is a delightful and ‘querky’ boutique hotel. Owned by very talented interior designers unsurprisingly the decor is superb. The bedrooms are large, comfortable and well equipped and are set around the best swimming pool I’ve ever used. Add to this a team for whom nothing is too much trouble and you have the recipe for a great stay and that’s exactly what we got….twice! Once at the beginning and then at the end of our holiday. Just one criticism - please find a way to keep wasps off the breakfast buffet! Other than that, terrific!
- K1759QGdenised (6/5): Infested with wasps - A very unusual and quirky hotel. Loved the pool, cocktail bar and the dinner we had there. Staff were great and very acomodating. Our room however, for what we paid, was very average and void of basic amenities we expected. The real problem was the swarm of wasps all over the breakfast buffet. We stayed 3 nights but only had 2 breakfasts as we couldn't bring ourselves to go again after miraculously avoiding getting stung for 2 mornings. We were tempting fate. They were all over the food both on the buffet's serving area and then on your plate. It was very uncomfortable and tense. The staff didn't seem to have an issue with this at all. It wasn't one or two, it was a swarm from a nearby nest that seriously needed dealing with. For this reason I would not go back. The front room where the little reception was also needed a good dusting. It's a shame that thse things let it down as I like quirky, bespoke hotels like this.

- X2509MNsusanc (10/5): So Relaxing - We stayed for a week in September. We wanted a relaxing holiday and we definitely got that. We would normally go out and about but apart from a day on a boat trip around the islands we just sat around the pool. And Dulgar and his team worked non-stop to make sure everyone was looked after. The food was fantastic, every meal was just wonderful. The pool area was spotless with towels for everyone. I don't know if we were just lucky but all the other people staying there were really nice as well, we all seemed to jell around the pool bar. Let's just say we can't wait to go back. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.
- 408lornar (10/5): Beautiful, boho Layla - We stayed for a week at this lovely hotel and had an amazing time! As soon as you arrive you enter into a tropical paradise, with the most beautiful, blue pool, palm trees and exotic plants. It has a boho vibe and really reminded us of Bali. We loved seeing the chickens and ducks running around in the gardens and their dog and cats are all very friendly. We are at the hotel several nights and the food was delicious, with a lovely candlelit setting by the pool. We also loved the cocktails and particularly enjoyed the swim up bar. It is truly a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The beach is only a short walk away and it is easy to get to Gocek by taxi. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would love to return one day. Thank you to all the lovely staff who made us feel so welcome.
