Guest Reviews
- junaid (10/5): Owner of the hotel is very nice person and helpful - Nice budget hotel owner is very helpful and nice guy . Location is very convenient to main attractions near bern and lauterbrunnen
- Shidrokh (2/5): - Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. It’s not worth your money. The place is dirty and freezing. I booked it for 3 nights because it was close to my uncle’s home, but I regretted it as soon as I arrived.
When I got there, someone handed me a key in front of the door, showed me the room, and then left. There’s no elevator, and the entire place felt scary and filthy. I had to carry my luggage up the stairs, and after settling in, I went out for dinner.
The room was freezing cold. I thought the heating system might have been turned off, so I adjusted the thermostat, expecting it to be warm when I returned. But when I came back at night, the place was dark, scary, and still freezing. There was no one around to help. I spent the night in four coats, unable to sleep properly or even use the restroom. I cried myself to sleep because I felt so helpless.
In the morning, I looked for a manager. A man was there, and I told him about the situation. He claimed the room wasn’t cold and offered to bring a heater from his house if I wanted. I was shocked! I asked how a “3-star hotel” could operate like this, and he told me they weren’t a hotel and didn’t have any stars. When I pointed out that they advertised as a 3-star hotel on Expedia, he said he had no idea about it.
I contacted Expedia, and they advised me to check out and leave. They promised to refund me for the remaining two nights, but it took two weeks because the property wouldn’t answer their calls or cooperate.
- Kirsten (6/5): - Average and pricet
- Oliver (10/5): - nett und unkompliziert
- Shehdeh (2/5): - This hotel have stairs and you have to carry your luggage. Bad internet
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Freundlicher Service, sauber, aber Charme der 60iger Jahre. Guter Kaffee, nur sehr mäßiges Frühstück. Insgesamt sehr einfache Übernachtungsmöglichkeit!
- Brigitte (10/5): - Es war super
- Enrique (10/5): - NA
- David (10/5): A small gem near Berne ! - This hotel is a small gem. A little confusing at first, as the “reception desk” consists of a broom closet in the hallway outside the in-house Casa Nostra restaurant, and we walked right past it wondering “But, where’s the hotel though ?!?”. Once that was ironed out with the help of the friendly and multilingual staff, we made our way through lovely old hallways festooned floor to ceiling with local historic portraits and antique daily-use objects and found our rooms to be snug and comfortable. Our dinner was delightful, and the staff were again helpful and friendly.
TL;DR: Great place, well worth a return visit !
- Dennis (8/5): - While the hotel was located at a busy intersection, our rooms were very quiet. The building was experiencing renovations while we were there. There was a very large variety of good food items
The owner was very helpful and attentive and willing to interact with his guests.
- Christian (8/5): - Es war ok. Preis Leistung stimmt.
- Stan (10/5): - Hotel is nog in authentieke staat. Mooie aparte sfeer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Traditional Swiss Gasthof - Very cozy and comfortable traditional swiss gasthof. Super clean and staff super friendly. Food is superb.
- Gaudenz (8/5): Klassenzusammenkunft - Altehrwürdiges Bernerhaus geführt von Tamilen. Zimmer eher altmodisch, jedoch sauber. Gegen den Morgen macht sich Strassenlärm bemerkbar. Frühstück ist o.k. Preis/Leistung stimmt. Gutes Essen im Hotelrestaurant zu vernünftigen Preisen.
- Franz J. (8/5): - Sehr zufrieden
- Audrey (10/5): - A lovely old Swiss house. Ambiente was old and simple but charming.
What I didn’t liked is I couldn’t stay longer. Maybe next time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ett helt OK hotel med familjär karaktär bra läge mitt i byn,150m till tågstation. Enkel standard men rent och tidsmässig inredning.Saknades kylskåp i ett av rummen.
- Stefan (6/5): - Large hotel room, but very noisy and, unfortunately, no fridge. Close to public transport.
- Liliana (6/5): - Stolperfalle im Zimmer - Tritt nicht gekennzeichnet
- Ulf (10/5): Historic Hotel in the Center - Historic hotel in the center of Worb with everything (including the tram station) close by.
Large rooms carefully renovated with many old details. Genuine Swiss restaurant on the ground floor and in the garden. (The TexMex restaurant was closed on our visit and may not have been a success).
Free parking. Breakfast extra. We could add breakfast for ten CHF per person and night.
Reception (and restaurant) closed in the afternoon but the notice on the door has a telephone number to call if it is closed.
Staff spoke excellent English.
Overall an excellent staty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Super Unterkunt.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Schönes altes Haus, grosse Zimmer, freundliches Personal
- Verified traveler (8/5): - People so nice and very kind
Beautiful house. It is clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Schönes, gepflegtes Traditionshaus liebevoll mit vielen antiquarischen Möbeln hergerichtet. Zimmer renoviert und modern. Service und Frühstück gut.
- Carmen (8/5): Worth a try - Very nice location, very nice staff
- Stine (10/5): - Cosy hotel in a small town near Bern. Right by the train station. Very friendly staff, big rooms, comfy beds, free parking and a great place to stay when visiting Bern and the area around.
- Krystian (10/5): - Unique style hotel.
Free parking and breakfast which is very rare in Switzerland.
Nice stuff aspacialy the owner who is very friendly thanks to him we saw more of Switzerland that we planed .
Hotel is perfectly situated right outside of Bern and most cities are within 1h to 1.5 h.
I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel it is really worth it and once again the owner is very nice and hardworking guy who will do the impossible for your comfort.
- Josef (8/5): Empfehlenswert - Alles in Ordnung. Preis/Leistung gut.
- ShuLing (10/5): Worth to stay especially with a car - Good location with good breakfast , room is clean , the hotel itself is very clean and beautiful , good choice!
- Rosmarie (8/5): Ich habe wunderbar geschlafen.
- Horst (10/5): Bern is nice to visit but it good to stay in Worb. - We enjoyed our stay very much and we will be back when the Restaurant Renovation are done .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel was a bit stinky and old. The carpet in the room was dirty and stained. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. Very old and not kept up very well. Ended up going into Bern instead of staying at this hotel.
- Richard (8/5): - Hotel in middle of refurbishment to be ready for October, so staff were having to work round this. They coped very well and we're very friendly and helpful. Added to this there are long term roadworks in Worb outside the hotel. We were very happy with our stay and admired the staff for coping so well. It is and will be a very nice place to stay. It is an old building with an interesting history.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old but nice building - Old but nice building being renovated now for reopening all facilities soon.
