• Tracey (10/5): Amazing weekend at amazing guesthouse - Fantastic, couldn’t have been more accommodating, stayed here as was competing in Scottish half marathon, house just across the road from finish line!! Also bus outside the house to head directly to Edinburgh where we enjoyed the Fringe festival. Alice went out of her way to ensure we had a fantastic weekend, highly recommend.

• Bo Hyun (10/5): - We had a great family stay at Arden House. The place is spacious, very well kept, and the breakfast was excellent. Parking was easy nearby. From the property, we enjoyed views of the racetrack and the world’s oldest continuously played golf course — even in the rain, people were out playing! A direct bus to Edinburgh’s Princes Street stops right outside and takes less than 40 minutes. Musselburgh’s town center is also worth a visit for a taste of Scottish small-town charm. Highly recommended — we’ll gladly come back!

Having breakfast delivered to your door each am was brilliant and delicious! Alice really went the extra mile each day! Would definitely stay here again!!

Le p’tit dej était excellent, Alice nous a accueilli et conseilé pour aller manger au restaurant dans la ville. Le + station de bus à proximité, pour aller visiter Édimbourg.
• Lori (10/5): - Absolutely loved our stay, the owners are very nice and the house was lovely 😍. Our breakfast basket that was delivered to our room was perfect. Easily walkable to the town to get food or shop and the view of the track was beautiful. There is a bus stop right in front of you don't want to drive to Edinburgh. Highly recommend and hopefully we will get to stay again in the future. Thank You for a wonderful night!

Alice and Kevin were so welcoming and made us feel right at home — the kind of personal touch you don’t often find in most hotel chains. We stayed in the family room, which was perfect for our group — my mom, my husband, and me. The room was beautiful, spacious, and had a stunning view that made our stay even more special. Breakfast each morning was excellent — fresh, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. It was the perfect start to our days. The whole atmosphere at Arden House feels warm and welcoming. We felt very well looked after, and everything from the comfort of the room to the quality of the food reflected real thoughtfulness. Thank you for making our time in Edinburgh/Musselburgh so memorable!
• Amanda (10/5): - Everything was perfect about this property. It was in a great location, bus stop literally at the door. On street parking without issue. The premises themselves were lovely. Very spacious, tasteful but modern interior with comfortable beds & a very flash bathroom (in our family room). We also had a beautiful view of the golf course and racecourse to wake up to. The continental breakfasts were HUGE and very tasty. Lovely to have them served piping hot straight to your door. The staff were also very accommodating when I asked if we could have some extra crockery and cutlery in case our teenagers got hungry during the evenings, as we had some of our own food supplies with us. Speaking of staff, I have the greatest appreciation for our hostess Alice. Her communications were first class and she showed genuine interest in our family and our holiday. She was also a great source of information regarding sightseeing in Edinburgh, public transport etc. Nothing was ever too much trouble and she made special efforts to make our stay comfortable. She arranged a refrigerator access for us to put our cold stuff in. On our second night, unbeknownst to us, our shower had started to leak a little down a wall below. Very unfortunate but just one of those things. Alice supplied another bathroom we could use directly across from our room, and she also gave us access to the room next door as a way to compensate us for the inconvenience, which our sons appreciated having their own room.

So glad we found Arden House ....we will return .

The major bus stop into Edinburgh was right outside the front door. It was approximately 40 minutes and cost under 2 pounds. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves and are hoping to return next year.

Mysigt trebädds-rum en trappa upp. Familjär internationell frukost som även erbjöd glutenfria flingor samt både laktosfri och mjölkfri "mjölk"-dryck. Egen nyckel så man kunde komma och gå som man ville. Rummet hade inte badrum/toalett utan vi fick gå tvärs över korridoren. Dock har de andra rummen egna badrum/toalett. Rummet vätte mot en trafikerad gata och även om trafiken var minimal nattetid så hörde man de fåtal bilar som passerade. Men vi sov trots det gott hela natten.

They were genuinely interested in our plans and took time out of their day to chat and offer local advice. There was nothing I didn't like about our stay.

• Joanne (10/5): - Annual family trip to visit Edinburgh Christmas Markets. Alice and her husband were so welcoming and we felt if we had needed anything they would have tried to assist us. This is a stunning Victorian property which looks on to Musslebrough race course and beyond. We are a family of four and they provided two rooms with a private bathroom and separate w.c. Although not ensuite the separate bathrooms are for your use only so still felt private. Rooms were bright and well furnished. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Wifi code provided and wi-fi speed good. Breakfast was continental but plenty of choice and again, Alice was very attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again. Hotel is located a few miles outside of Edinburgh but Edinburgh is easily accessible by train and there is a train station nearby.

The location is great - only a quick bus ride into Edinburgh (but also walkable) and the rooms had awesome views of the oldest golf course in the world. But back to the experience - the host not only helped us out in what sites to see, where to go, what to eat, but also lent me her husband's jacket because it was so cold out! She was genuinely excited about our day and we could've talked for hours.
