Guest Reviews
- Nicky (6/5): Great location, very spacious happy space, basic R and M to doors and cupboard doors and basin URGEN - Location
Size of Apartment URGENT repairs and maintenance, doors not opening and shutting, upstairs ensuite - basin bench disintegrating - various does not upgrading as difficult for it to be healthy with the basin as it is
- Sherrine (8/5): A good place to stay in Wellington and would like to be close to the action! - The location was excellent, right in the heart of Wellington. Close to shops and walking distance to markets and piers. The property would've been amazing in it's day and some aspects were upgraded like the kitchen, the couch was comfortable and table large enough for a large family/group of friends. This property would suit a few couples with kids wanting to be in the heart of Wellington. The directions to get the keys were not clear and after hours of travel felt stressful. The bathrooms were honestly bizarre, the downstairs bathroom was a large spa bath but the shower barely functioned, doors falling off their hinges. One of the upstairs bedrooms had a good shower and toilet however the other toilet you would need to sit on it sideways to fit your legs in...so bizarre. If you do not like noise then you will not like this place.
- Kylie (6/5): - The location was good The noise was horrendous you can hear everything in the street and both nights loud music went to 4am there is no noise cancellation at all!
- Malcolm Anderson (8/5): Great Location, Spacious living areas. Penthouse Prices. - The property is very, very spacious with 4 large bedrooms, 3 x dbls, 1 x Twin. Full kitchen available, Washer/Dryer etc... beautiful views of the surrounding city. Easy walking distance to Museum, Marina, Cable Car, most sites within walking distance. Also, has a split system A/C. Property is a little dated. Bathrooms don't have exhaust fans, Birds on the roof can be very noisy at different times. Sunroom is nice, but outdoor setting very dated and parts are broken. Noise from the city can be heard late into the evening as well, so that is a con if you want to get to bed early! On site parking is too expensive and only vehicles 1.85M can enter.
- Jodie (1/5): -
- Barrie (6/5): Satisfactory overall, but more attention required for maintenance issues. - Central location. TV did not work, A/C not working on arrival. Excessive noise from local night clubs.
- Becerril (9/5): - Todo bien. Buena ubicación. Un pcoo la llegado es confusa pero al final todo bien
- Gez (8/5): - Great location and plenty of space.
- Roger Clayton (7/5): -
- Katrina (1/5): ⭐️ Rating 1/10 - Absolutely not as advertised - We booked this apartment expecting a relaxing stay, but it was the complete opposite. What they don’t mention anywhere in the listing is that the apartment sits directly above a pub that plays loud music until 3–4 AM every single night. It’s impossible to sleep. If we’d known this, we never would’ve booked here.
The apartment itself is also in very poor condition and needs serious maintenance.
Stained chairs and dirty furniture
Broken or half-hanging blinds
A smashed side table left upstairs
Bathroom tiles badly needing regrouting
Cabinet doors falling apart
Multiple lights not working
All beds are old, creeky and uncomfortable
Broken appliances (2/4 portable fans were broken)
The provided 1 dishwashing tablet for a 3 day stay
Shower leaked, at one point we couldn't turn it off
The photos online make it look modern and comfortable — in reality, it’s tired, neglected, and noisy.
For the price we paid, this was extremely disappointing. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you’re planning on staying out until 4 AM and don’t mind a very run-down apartment. If you are traveling with a young family like we are I would suggest other accommodation as our 16 month old didn't get much sleep.
- James (5/5): A bit disappointing for the price - Good central location. Spacious, Comfortable beds. TV did not work well - spent most of the time buffering so we could not watch anything for long. Kitchen cupboard handles loose. Lack of vanity/table to put things on in the master bedroom. Very noisy in the wind - the doors leading out to balconies were poorly secured and rattled a lot.
- Darleena (6/5): Good customer service, the property could do with a lil maintenance & update! - Plenty of room, views were good, clean and tidy, comfy beds, helpful after hours contact staff/customer service and accommodating with booking parking at the last minute. Close to everything. Quite tired and could do with an update, loose tiles in bathroom, vanity eroding from the wall etc. We get the mixed living complex and STRICT no parties/loud noise allowed otherwise we could get evicted without warning, no refund & potentially be charged $500 for security call out, but we were not told about the extreme noise and thumping music from the surrounding night clubs and bars from 8pm at night until 4am of which we experienced Friday & Saturday nights😔
- Debbie (5/5): Feels liek you are sleeping in the middle of a nighclub - The property was easy to access, is in an excellent location in the heart of Wellington CBD (which comes with a big downfall - see below). The rooms are spacious, beds were comfortable and having 3 bathrooms was great. The property really needs a good deep clean, some maintenance and a good paint job on the walls etc. The biggest downfall was the noise from the surrounding bars which was relentless until 4am. Earplugs did nothing. Having the numerous emails and notices in the premises stating no parties was a joke as you literally feel like you are in the middle of a nightclub.
- Beatrice (5/5): Very Average - Location was good
The space was good for 6 people Neither the TV or the Wifi worked, so we had to go out to watch sport.
It was really nosiy due to the bars below and no double glazing
Not all doors locked
- Troy (7/5): Great stay - Great location, spacious, great for a large group Getting a bit tired in the bathrooms, noisy with wind
- Douglas (10/5): - Location, views. So handy to everything Getting the keys out of the padlock, one of the units lock wouldn't open until pressing on the numbers.
- Bobbye (7/5): -
- Marta (7/5): - Spacious apartment Extremely noisy area, hard to sleep.
The apparent is a bit tired and does need to be freshened up.
- Breanna (9/5): Superb -
- Jayla (7/5): Good - I really enjoyed the location of the property! an absolute easy walk to town and the view was amazing from the balconies. some of the house hold items were faulty like the big curtains they kept falling down, the electric fire wasn’t turning on, no extra towels for showers and had a washing machine but no dryer to dry anything or clothes line. also disappointing that one of the doors to the balcony was jammed due to the last residents putting toilet paper in the gap
- Talette (9/5): Enjoyed our stay - We loved the location and the layout of the property. Very good value for money especially as it accommodated our large family. We would have liked more towels as we stayed for 12 days with 8 people and there was only 1 towel each.
- Priya (10/5): Great and comfortable stay for a large family - The apartments were right in the middle of city which was awesome. Lots of shops around and very convenient for late night dinners etc. We had the penthouses on level 6, both were very spacey with lots of rooms. A little outdated and probably requires some maintenance. Lots of broken structure and marks.
- Bridie (7/5): Lovely but for a group of friends not a family with kids 6 and under - We absolutely adored the beds. The main bed in the main room was so plush and cosy and comfy! I want this exact bed and the pillows please the pillows were great! Get this place if you don’t have kids to look after so you can laze about and make the most of the bed and the space! We were out and about most the time! The one thing I would comment is it’s not very child friendly at all.. there are windows that open up with no child lock on and at child height that drop straight down to the ground floor.
- Shelly (8/5): City apartment - Nice and spacious, handy for exploring the city Weekend noise from city below.
Some maintenance issues.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kurt (2/5): Very poor - NA Our keys in the lock box at the gate were covered in urine ( nice start )
Apartment furniture was dirty
Apartment was averagely cleaned
Beds are all hard, one slopping in an uncomfortable direction
All paint work in apartment is a mess and scratched giving the feeling of a well used space for god knows what.
The sounds from all the clubs till nearly the morning keep all my business partners and myself awake just about all night. Did go well in our important meetings the next day due to being all tired.
We left a day early couldn’t bare another night.
Super disappointing
- Peter (9/5): Brilliant location, if you can sleep through the sounds of city night life. - Loved the set up; perfect for our family group of six. The only distraction / negative related to location: perfect for easy access to shops, restaurants etc. but very noisy at night. Building is older and no sound proofing.
- Lorraine (7/5): 7 Australians - LOCATION Broken door handles kitchen to baloney, broken door handle 2nd bedroom leading onto balcony, broken lock on upstairs bathroom Door. No hot water down stairs bathroom first night. Front door not sure if both locks not engaged.
- Bethan (9/5): Prime location. Massive apartments, comfort for everyone. - The apartments were large, clean and comfortable. Great location in town yet still safe and secure.
- Gail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hania (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment, comfortable and spacious, our group was able to be together but still have space.
- Karen (2/5): Property needs freshening up to feel clean; new furniture, painting, eye to detail. - - Host was quick to respond to email contact from us & arrange a nearby property to leave our luggage after checkout.
- The property was conveniently located to our needs.
- Most of the bed linen and towels were clean.
- Checkin instructions were prompt and easy with images
- elevated views of Welington - 1 bed was clearly an office with no window covering for skylight. As such, woken at sunrise. - ensuite door did not open fully due to vanity being too large for the bathroom. - had to sit sideways on toilet as vanity was too big for the space. - provided parking was problematic and remote was not left in lock box - doors in upstairs bedroom did not shut properly - sofa covering missing - dining chairs were soiled - scuffs/marks on most walls - door handles loose - insufficient amenities provided for washing up (no teatowels or dishclothe) -Pillow cases in master bedroom had stains on them -downstairs mattress was thin and uncomfortable -1 ply toilet paper -mouldy upstairs tiles
- Neale (8/5): Amazing, unless you wanted to sleep. - Loved the living areas and the views. Amazing Property. Parking was a pain and an extra cost. Apparently spaces can be pre booked but I don't remmeber seeing anything about it in email etc. Needed to park in a nearby carpark for about $24 per day.
Wellington is very windy and the doors and windows are old and loose. So they made a lot of noise in the night time. Kept me up at night. Also the apartment is in the party area so the local clubs etc played loud music into the night
- Bennett (8/5): Very good -
- Brigitta (8/5): Very good - Location is very central. Property spacious, private and light, new carpets...great bath.. feels safe as entrance behind iron gate First impression very good as it presents a bit 'grandiose'; top floor ..open view into city...balconys but no outside seating at all. Then we noticed that all is 'tired' and seats / sofas not very clean..( the beds were good and clean!)
Both nights over weekend very noisy, due to music in the pup along the road. During day building noise in adjacent apartment ( which would have been temporary).. The lock box with key was not numbered..but we got there.
- Keven (8/5): Very good -
- Chey (7/5): Good -
- Sallybr (9/5): Super central location ideal for big groups - This apartments is so central to restaurants and the waterfront. If you are travelling with a family or group of friends this apartment is ideal - it has a very big living space which has a great view. Three bathrooms mean no queuing for showers!
- YUK TING (8/5): - Location is CBD. Very convenience but there is a clubhouse nearby open till 3 AM
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (10/5): Ka mau te wehi! Awesome! - Everything was perfect from booking to our stay. Greatly appreciated your professionalism and courtesy. NA
- Michelle (7/5): Good - The location and views are amazing also the size of the apartment was great for a group. The bedrooms are all a good size particularly the master with comfortable clean beds. The apartment is a little tired and could do with some maintenance and a spruce up. The curtains in lounge were water stained, the couch was stained and a broken window latch in the lounge kept the window banging in the wind. Peeling paint in the bathrooms. Also the button for the lift was temperamental and hard to work at times.
- Karen (4/5): Incredibly noisy, very tired, broken doors, dirty. - Size, it was very spacious and flexible for sleeping arrangements. Noisy, windows falling out, poor water pressure, dirty, smelly bed.
- Lis (8/5): Great accommodation for a family in central Wellington. - Spacious, very clean apartment. Central location and great views across Wellington. Glad it had air conditioning. Getting the key out of the first lock box was a bit of a mission. It was hard to reach down to ground level on a busy footpath, with all our gear, to fiddle with the lock box.
The dishwasher wasn't used because there were no dishwasher tablets, and also the lower tray in dishwasher had lost a wheel. Some windows were hard to close as latches didn't fit properly.
- Nadinet69 (5/5): Central location but expensive for level of accommodation - It was central just off Courtenay but this also means it comes with noise as it is not double glazed in the master room the doors don't seal tightly and you are right above party central so take airplugs. It was very spacious but very dated and not well maintained. It was $360 per couple per night so for a poorly maintained property that is on the upper end. The noise due to locale and no glazing to assist made it very loud until about 3.30am.
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Stu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meg (10/5): Would stay again but bring earplugs - Spacious and clean Quite noisy, as several bars on the ground floor.
- Takuira-mita (8/5): Lovely big apartment for large groups - Great location, lovely big apartment with plenty of natural light and space for all the whānau. There wasn't any dishwash cloth. Handwashed dishes due to no detergent for the dishwasher so could have done with more than one tea towel.
- Rachael (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and will be back. - Huge property and spectacular views! Lovely sitting/dining area with comfortable beds. Tired bathrooms, lifting plaster and paint from water damage in ceilings.
- Natasha (8/5): - Overall we were very happy with our stay. The apartment is conveniently located in the CBD with an abundance of restaurants nearby. The rates were priced very well. The only small concern is the level of noise at times at night time.
- Shannon (7/5): Great central spacious apartment - Finding the keys was a little confusing and not at the actual address giving on booking.com, location was great and easy walking everywhere we needed to go. The property was very spacious for the amount of people we had and perfect for our weekend away The property was a little run down. Not quite like the pictures showed. Was a lot of doors etc just to get into the room and very noisy on the Saturday night we stayed.
- Tara (10/5): Great friends trip to Wellington - Clean tidy is a very handy venue, close to everything we wanted.
We needed more towels and they brought them straight away Checking in was difficult. The staff were great but the instructions were way too wordy and hard to understand. Also the gate to get in is not on Courtney place. Not a biggie just a little confusing
- Che (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michaela (6/5): Had a good visit - How close it was to everything Bedding was dirty, no staff to help with parking when website said parking available for $35 a night. Dishwasher was broken, nothing to clean bench tops or wash dishes. Black mould in bathrooms and on doors
- Emma (7/5): Good for groups - Super easy check in process. Great location, lots of bars and restaurants around but unfortunately lots of homeless people right outside the door. The place is big and suits a group of people. It’s super loud at night because of the bars below. Beds aren’t the most comfortable. The internet didn’t work and when I messaged about that I got no reply. Needs a bit of a makeover.
- Scott (8/5): Would recommend for bigger groups, would likely stay again. - Central location, apartment was super warm and comfortable. Access and check in was easy. Facilities and apartment could have been cleaner overall. Very little noise insulation in the bedrooms upstairs, might as well have been in the middle of Courtney Place with how much you could hear.
- Tania (9/5): Beautiful accommodation would definitely stay again. - The wifi did not work
- Sally (7/5): Very comfortable - The space in the apartment was roomy and comfortable. The noise from Courtney Place was extreme and made it very challenging to get to sleep. The noise seemed to stop at 4am. We were there on a Friday and Saturday night. This may not be as bad during the week.
- Robyn (8/5): Excellent location, comfy beds, amazing views - Was easy to get keys; However as are flight had arrived early, it was hard to contact anyone to see if we could check in early. We had been instructed we could leave our bags at a sister property if we couldn't but this didn't open until 9am which was when we could get hold of someone to send us instructions on how to enter our property It's a dated property with marks on the walls, bathrooms could do with a bit of an upgrade. Also no clothes or tea towels to do dishes - had to go purchase these. There is a dishwasher but sometimes you just want to wash a cup or plate.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing central location. Beautiful city views. Comfortable beds fantastic spot for group stays Didn’t have any tea towels or dish cloths. Courtney place is loud over the weekend
- Trudi (8/5): Was great everyone in our group loved it as was close to the function centre where our conference was. - The location and space was fantastic For obvious reasons with the leaky home and earthquake issues wasn’t pleasant to look at but would stay again.
- Michelle (1/5): Will never use this chain ever again and none of my frequent travelling family and friends will either - Nice apartment, good location Unable to contact the office to get the keys to access the apartment on the afternoon of check in. Upon arrival at the accommodation, after a delayed flight arrival , I found an email had been sent to me but the link didn’t work and there was no person to contact. We had a delayed flight and office did not account for this. HAD TO PAY FOR A NIGHTS ACCOMODATION AT ANOTHER HOTEL. The following day I tried to chase it up and the office person took NO responsibility for them not providing check in details the day prior.
- Bax (8/5): Great location, awesome views and helpful staff. - The central location and the size of the apartment Just needed a few things that were missing like dishwashing liquid, dish cloths etc. downstairs shower over the spa was not usable with no curtain or door but 2 other showers upstairs available.
- Michelle (5/5): I have rated this apartment as passable, only because of its location and the large shared area - Location was wonderful.
It was a great space for 8 people to hang out together.
Great views Instructions on how to get into the carpark and building were poor. When I rang for help, the man was rude and unhelpful. Please put a street number on your exterior above the garage door or the pedestrian gate. Luckily my car is small or I would have not been able to fit in the car space I paid extra for.
Several lock boxes on the fence at footpath level, and we just had to go through all of them until our code worked - thank goodness it wasn't raining or dark as the numbers were difficult to see. And it was ridiculous to then have to go up to the 6th floor to get the garage remote, then come back down, open the garage and finally get our cars off the road and then be able to unpack.
VERY, VERY tired interior. What would have once been a beautiful apartment needed painting, curtains replaced, couch cleaned. It had windows and doors that wouldn't open/close. Bathroom doors didnt lock and the doors "popped open".
1 teatowel for 8 people. No dish detergent, no dish cloths.
Only 7 plates and 7 forks for 8 people. No coffee plunger, teapot
I expected a box of tissues - but none.
No spare blankets if you were cold. No electric blankets on beds.
Curtains blocked very little light.
It is a noisy location and the single glazing means a lot of noise comes from the street even though its on the 6th floor.
The timber window frames are rotting.
- Lisa (7/5): Good - Nice big apartment with plenty of space for a group. Great location. Nice views of the city. We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is dated and does need some maintenance. Lift broke down which caused some issues with my elderly parents :(
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Stacey (8/5): Noisy but great location - Amazing space, great for our extended family group. Excellent location for being close to bus links and attractions. Very, very noisy from the streets below.
- Melissa (9/5): We had a great time. Thank you - Great location and feel. Felt safe. Nothing
- Tim (9/5): Amazing location, awesome apartment. Will definitely stay again! - Location, size and overall vibe was awesome! A lil outdated but everyone else was amazing.
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (8/5): Great fun - Great set up , lots of room and great location Was frustrated they held my money for so long. Wasn’t supposed to pay on booking.
- Michelle (1/5): Bad - Absolutely nothing 😞 Where do we start.
Luxury apartment it was not. Dirty, in need of serious upgrade. Definitely nothing like it is advertised as!!!
- Dayle (7/5): Location location - The room was big, the beds were great. None of the doors closed easily, there were a lot of big cracks and out of square...maybe earthquake damage. The water pressure upstairs was not good, dishwasher didn't work and there were/are a lot of tiles that look like they are going to fall off.
- Chris (8/5): Very good - The size of the property and the location The hoops to jump through to get access to the property, the property could do with some maintenance,
- Ken (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlene (9/5): Girls weekend in the city - Couldn't have been a more perfect location for our stay in Wellington. Older property but well maintained and very comfy. Spacious, clean and the view was great too
- Emily (3/5): Poor - water. The water left in cups or jugs overnight either had black soot looking remnants or green moss looking fuzz in the bottom of the containers. Children stayed in this suite.
Air conditioning. One heat pump was not adequate for the weather that we met. My children were crying with sweat dripping down their face going to sleep. This is 2023 and that is not ok. Our fee for our 4 day stay would pay for additional heat pump facilities.
Security. A single door latch felt lacklustre in the community that surrounded. I think at minimal an additional deadbolt should be installed.
The electrical fault made our lives painful to say the least. The heat was unbearable.
Security. Every external door didn’t have a fully working system intact.
Heat pump requires servicing. The smell and (I’m quite sure) subsequent sickness isn’t acceptable
- Angus (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (1/5): Did not sleep the first night and all our things were packed during the night. The U group hotel agreed to short down ou - Only we could check in before time but at that time we did not knew about the mold and the smell in the rooms
I do not believe that the the U group will use this accomodation This place is a danger for the health - mold was tried to cover with painting
- Jason (8/5): Very good - Epic location close to everything Wellington offers. If you want peace and quiet at night on the weekend, this probably is not the place for you.
- Chris (7/5): Great for a boys weekend, wouldn't take the family - Big open space in great location Very noisy, quite dated
- Nicky (9/5): Superb -
- Courtney (6/5): Plenty of potential. Great location. But wouldn't stay again. - The property had definite potential to be a beautiful space. Location was also great! I had to follow up with the apartment on the day of checkin as no check in instructions were sent as advised. My bedding was stained and smelled pretty questionable. The bottom bathroom toilet didn't flush and the top bathroom toilet lock didn't work. Mould surrounding the windows. Faulty smoke alarm system which required 2 older women (1 with lung disease and 1 awaiting knee surgery) to walk down 6 flights of stairs, over a steep decline into the adjacent car park (Photo of decline included in review) and around to the the main gate when there were no other people present. When they got there they were told it was a false alarm and everyone else had already gone inside.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kiwigirl1995 (8/5): Great place despite lack of maintenance - Incredibly well sized apartment with ample spaces to relax in. Multiple balconies and great air flow. The apartment is located incredibly centrally and easy to access from the airport. We were kindly given early check in and the staff were quick to fix issues.
Things recommended to bring , cloths , dish washing liquid , air plugs and eye masks. Leaving the fans on at night drains out the bars music. As mentioned by other guests the apartment lacks improvements. We were not provided with kitchen dish cloths or dish washing liquid but they where happy enough for us to leave the dishwasher.
The single beds slats where Brocken.
Music is loud but to be expected given the location.
Would stay again but come better prepared.
Would be nice to have 8 seats for the dining table .. only 5.
- Sandra (9/5): Superb -
- Frankie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janeane (3/5): Poor - The property met our needs as far as space and the room configurations. The apartment is located above or very near a night club that was extremely loud and went until 4:00 am each night Thursday to Saturday. If you are happy to cope with the noise and lack of sleep then the location is great!
One of the showers broke when we first tried to use it, it was corroded therefore in my opinion wasn't something new and should have been noticed earlier and repaired.
The facilities as far as kitchen and other bathrooms were great, the property really is let down by its access and noise.
- Michelle (7/5): Very handy location and spacious Penthouse Apartment - Great central location, can park the car and walk everywhere.
Penthouse Apartment has plenty of room and was nice having a bathroom each.
Bed was comfortable.
Good clear instructions on how to access apartment and carpark.
Friendly communication from property manager and prompt replies to a couple of queries before our stay. The apartment overall is run down and tired.
Obviously has had issues with leaking resulting in cracked paint, water stains, rusty looking light fittings in the bedroom.
No extractor fan in the bathroom.
Stains on the carpet.
There was no hand towel or face cloths provided in the bathroom. Did provide 2 towels.
Also need to provide a dish cloth and more than one tea towel as the apartment is not serviced during the stay.
The dishwasher top tray is broken and I see from reading past reviews it has been broken since April 2021. The wine glass did not survive this time.
The dish cloth request has also been mentioned numerous times, yes it seems trivial, but shows a lack of correction from these issues raised.
And yes it's a noisy location at night when you’re trying to sleep, but being in Courtenay Place you need to accept that if you choose to stay here.
I'd say the location and apartment size is what sells it.
- Macpherson (7/5): Good -
- Les (8/5): Excellent we’ll be back - Central location, they were very accommodating with early access Wifi kept cutting out
- Cameron (8/5): Very good -
- Morrow (3/5): Poor -
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (8/5): Very good -
- Lfecser (8/5): Very good -
- Hammond (5/5): Passable -
- Melissa (10/5): Central with lovely views. - Central to everything. Really big space with lots of bathrooms. Hosts were very attentive to our questions. Could store our bags at there sister property which helped us immensely as we had late flights. Will stay again. Little bit noisy at night/morning with been on top of nightclubs.
