Guest Reviews
- sandra (10/5): Lovely room - Lovely room in a nice location. All staff we met were friendly and helpful. Booked this room as we needed a walk in shower and the bathroom was perfect Pillows were a bit flat but had worse
- David (8/5): -
- Stuart (10/5): A very enjoyable stay in a great location - Very comfortable stay. Clean & well appointed room. Breakfasts were excellent. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Nothing
- Harindra (10/5): - Bed room very busy with the golfers
- Turner (7/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Comfortable, clean, lovely breakfast and very friendly staff. - The room was spacious, clear and well decorated. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was also very good. We had a very nice stay albeit for just the one night. I hadn't appreciated that these are rooms in a golf club which was probably my fault. There's nothing wrong with that, I had thought they were overlooking the golf course. The walls aren't thick and we could hear the thunderous snoring of whoever was in the adjacent room. Via a short walk you can see Rutland water but it's a fair trek to get to it.
- Sarah (8/5): Lovely location and lovely rooms - Lovely location and room was really clean . Couldn’t get a meal at the property after 3.30pm
- Sue (9/5): Fantastic - Excellent value for money. Great stay and a wonderful breakfast
- charles (8/5): Visit to Rutland Water - Great location for Rutland water. Good rooms and facilities and comfortable bed. Breakfast was also good with great selection from pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit to full English. The only issues were noisy golfers arriving early and golfers using the ball machine at the driving range. Basically it was noisy from 6am!

- hobday (9/5): - We loved the place, the staff, the room and the breakfast were all superb! The only downside was the attitude of some of the golfing members towards us. On 2 separate occasions, we were told that we couldn't park our car there and just go off biking. We had paid £180 for our 1 night stay, and twice had to put up with being questioned by golfers on site. They need to be told that people other than golfers use the hotel.
- Sheena (9/5): -
- Michael (8/5): - Quiet location
- Humphrey (9/5): Great room and breakfast. - Large, spacious, comfortable room with a high spec bathroom. Lovely view over the golf course towards the lake. Comfy bed. Good breakfast. A mini fridge in the room would have been good and a better TV. But these are us being picky as we had a good stay and enjoyed the room.
- Nick (10/5): lovely comfortable room and excellent breakfast - lovely and quiet
- Alan (8/5): Comfortable, good breakfast. - Location
- Bhikhu (10/5): -

- Joanna (8/5): Very pleasant stay. - Good location for exploring from.
Lovely breakfast.
Staff very nice & accommodating. Unfortunately the club house closed earlier than we were expecting.
Golfers get up very early to use the driving range!!

- Michael (7/5): Great location. And so peaceful once the golfers had left ! Best breakfast. - One of the best breakfasts i have ever had ! It was great. Fantastic location as well for an evening walk. A bigger room ! But you have to pay more !!
- Raymond (8/5): It was a pleasant stay amidst lovely views and countryside, with various activities to enjoy. - I enjoyed the breakfast which was plentiful and varied and well presented.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Steve (9/5): Super golf break with lovely accommodation and friendly staff. - Friendly staff, super close to the golf facilities and an excellent breakfast. Where we ate breakfast was draughty and a little cold on both mornings. The carpet on the stairs to our room was really quite dirty and in need of a good clean, first impressions are important and the loo seat was very loose. All things that can be put right very easily.
- AAZER (10/5): Overall very comfortable stay , enjoyed greatly. - Very comfortable and clean. All good.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Beverley (8/5): A short rest. - Very peaceful, straight forward parking,
Super location. It would have been good to have a better selection of fruit at breakfast.
- Helen (9/5): Just the job - Very clean, quiet and delicious breakfast Would have loved a bedside table
- Jason (10/5): Great stay and will be booking again shortly. - Quiet, rooms clean and spacious. Showers were hot. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff were excellent. Nothing

- Matthew (8/5): - Rooms were nice. Breakfast was phenomenal (outstanding yoghurt and berries plus warm chocolate croissants even before the main food arrived). It's a beautiful location right on Rutland water. My neighbours banged their door shut every 5 minutes from 4am to 7am, so I didn't sleep much. A request to residents to close doors quietly, or a mechanisms to soften door closing, would help.
It's a bit expensive if you get around by taxi.

- Joanna (8/5): Our favourite place to stay in Rutland - Comfortable spacious room. Excellent WiFi strength. Friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast. Rather steep stairs to access bedroom.

- Richard (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- Rob (9/5): - Excellent breakfast, good location to explore area.
- Dave (9/5): -
- JANE (6/5): enjoyable with limitation. - location and the hotel the fact you could not get an everning meal after 4.00 pm and the bar are closed as early as 7.30pm so you could not get a drink.
- Peter (9/5): - Nice room, lovely breakfast Overlooking carpark to golf course and was a bit noisy after 6.30am. This wasn't too bad for us as we are early risers.
- Robert (9/5): -
- Michelle Jane (10/5): - The accommodation was excellent really good value for money. The Staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. There wasn't anything negative I could say about staying here. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying there.
- Derek (9/5): Good - Breakfast great
Location to close to the golf course Could have had a safe and fridge
- Hilary (8/5): Comfortable stay in a great location. - Beautiful location - could walk through fields down to Rutland Water. Breakfast was amazing in terms of quality, variety and quantity - had to have a doggy bag. Economy double room (in converted stables) had a sloping ceiling and small window so it was a little dark but otherwise confortable.
- Heighton-Ginns (10/5): Clean, luxurious and great location. Fantastic breakfast, great golf course, Lovely people. The list goes on - Clean, luxurious and great location. Fantastic breakfast, great golf course, Lovely people. The list goes on.
The staff in particular were fantastic and a credit to the owners.
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Zoe (9/5): Lovely location with high standard rooms. - Very comfortable rooms, furnished to a high standard. Lovely en-suite bathroom. Nice outside seating areas.
Excellent breakfast, offering great choice of locally sourced foods. Unfortunately food is not available in the evenings .
- Roger (10/5): -
- Crispin (9/5): A lovely comfy hideaway. - Staff were great and really helpful. Room was comfy and clean. Very quiet at night. Lovely to have a walk down to the water after dinner.
- Hughes (9/5): -
- Ruth (10/5): Lovely location, superb breakfast - lovely rooms and surroundings, plenty of parking space. Breakfast was fab Sound proofing in the rooms was not great but most went to bed early
- Andy (9/5): Nice room, helpful and cheerful staff. Lovely breakfasts. - Room was large with big, well-designed bathroom. Surprisingly quiet, despite being at the heart of a golf club. Breakfasts were lovely. The double-ended bath was a bit small and the plug would not seal, so needed blocking with a flannel to maintain a decent level.
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Amazing rooms and fantastic breakfast Annoying the bar was closed at 9pm
- Robin (9/5): Stayed over before early tee time. Best way of doing it! - Nice clean modern room
- Julie (8/5): Our group had rooms and the cottage- perfect getaway - Beautiful location and excellent rooms. Very comfortable and clean. Golf facility very good and great choice in pro shop
- Zoe (10/5): Great. Definitely return - Everything Nothing
- Janet (9/5): Wonderful stay as always here - Beautiful room with wonderful views.
Superb breakfast - exceptional. Some cobwebs in hallway and under both sinks in bathroom and in some hidden away corners but I am being a bit picky this did not affect our lovely stay here.
No vegetarian sausages available for breakfast on this occasion.
- Rachel (9/5): Lovely room, good - Breakfast was good, rooms were very nice Tea/coffee in the room was a bit dull. bit of variation would have been nice and better coffee
- Steve (9/5): Lovely rooms - Lovely location. Rooms very spacious. Shame the bar didn't do evening meals but recommened the horse and jockey at nearby village of Manton which was a great find. Breakfast was very slow. Needed more staff or a better system. Nice food though.
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Great location and excellent breakfasts Room could have been better soundproofed.
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Karin (9/5): Bright clean spacious room. - Nice bright clean rooms with beautiful outlook
Enjoyed breakfast on golf club balcony.
Only negative was a special night away from two small children who wake us up around 5.30 -6am
And the early golfers woke us up around 6am! Early wake up from golfers!
- Snell (8/5): Comfortable house in right location for us at a very reasonable price - Nice 3 bed house close to golf clubhouse . Close to friends who we were visiting for a party.Able to access path around Rutland water for walks .Good outside space with ample garden furniture. Inside dining area in lounge rather small. Only one bedroom had an ensuite and main bathroom was halfway up narrow staircase.
- Angela (9/5): Superb - Clean room, particularly well designed bathroom, nice staff, lovely location, very good breakfast
- Christine (9/5): Thoroughly lived up to expectations, wouldn’t hesitate to book again. - The location was lovely. On a golf course but no noise encountered. The Deluxe King room was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean. There was plenty of storage room and the bathroom was very high spec. The breakfast was amazing. All staff we encountered were lovely. Nothing
- Gavin (9/5): Superb - Clean very convenient lovely staff great breakfast Room.was quite hot , however there was a fan .
- Del (7/5): Nice room, shame about the golf! - The room was large, had a comfy bed, and great shower. There was no air conditioning, so the room was very warm. Breakfast was good. We didn't realise the room would be so close to the driving range. We were woken up at 6am by the noise from the golfers.
- Robert (7/5): Great stay and I will stop there again. - Lovely property, room fantastic. I had a packed lunch because I left before breakfast.
It was poor.
- Robert (8/5): Great for a no-nonsense overnight stop. Just what I wanted. - Continently situated. Pleasant surroundings. Nothing.
- Stephanie (10/5): Good value, comfortable stay in beautiful countryside. - Easy check in, lovely spacious room, really clean, large comfortable bed, great shower in the bathroom.
Delicious breakfast with great choice, staff friendly and efficient, really good value.
Quiet and peaceful location. Nothing.
- Callan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (9/5): Highly recommended - Great fresh breakfast Bar open later in the evening
Outside could be a bit tidier
- Simon (9/5): Lovely room with very nice view and friendly staff. - Breakfast as good as any hotel.
Lovely setting and very well decorated and equipped room and ensuite.
Several nice pubs serving good food (for evening meal) within 10 mins drive. Only thing was the slight inconvenience of travelling somewhere for evening meal, but we knew this before booking.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Poonam (10/5): Amazing beautiful place - Beautiful place, quiet, peaceful, welcoming big lush room, lovely views. Breakfast and lunch is excellent and choice of drinks. Lovely staff and so helpful - amazing stay! Highly recommend
- Stuart (9/5): Superb - Locations great, rooms very nice and comfortable beds. Breakfast area was great
- Joe (9/5): Relaxed - Really good and many options
- Katharine (8/5): Great place to stay. - Breakfast was great. The room isn’t cleaned automatically. You must put the card on the door to request it.
- Adrian (9/5): Facilities were great - Room was very good clean and breakfast very good Tractor working very early on golf driving range
- George (9/5): Lovely quiet area and super cottage with everything we needed supplied - Nothing really
- Carol (9/5): Lovely relaxing stay in great location. Would definitely recommend. - Great location. We stayed in The Hambleton which was a spacious, warm and comfortable room with a view out to the golf course and Rutland Water. Very clean with modern tasteful furnishings.
The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious.
We were welcomed and well looked after by Nieve and manager Gemma. The room had a fabulous bathroom, but we were unable to use the bath as the plug mechanism was broken so that the bath did not hold water which was a shame. We reported this to Gemma.
There was a problem too with the bathroom underfloor heating control which we also reported to Gemma.
If it wasn’t for these points it would have been straight tens all the way!
- Peter (8/5): Relaxing, happy stay - Lovely quiet location. Quiet at night too, as the facilities close early (c 8.30pm)
Clean and tidy, comfy bed. Nice staff Needs lighting at the main entrance, as it would be difficult to see off the road at night.
Maybe a mini bar, as the bar closes early.
- Robert (10/5): quality, value, comfort, quietness - everything nothing
- Terri (10/5): Lovely retreat - great for peace and golfers - Lovely room and beautiful surroundings. Very quiet area, bar closes early but that didn't bother us as we came for a peaceful trip. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice and the room was just wonderful. We stayed in the Hambleton. Bed very comfy!
- Judy (10/5): Wonderful accommodation and first rate breakfast - The room was huge, bed really comfortable. Breakfast was beautifully cooked Nothing
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (8/5): Very nice peaceful rural location with a cosy and comfortable room - Clean and Comfortable room in a very rural location. Very peaceful Perhaps a little cosy for 2
- James (8/5): The property served us very well and we liked it. The price felt a bit high for the time of year and the length of stay. -
- Stewart (10/5): Great experience with super friendly staff - Great Breakfast and super room. Nothing
- Zaq (8/5): Lovely staff and amazing breakfast . - Room was lovely and staff just amazing . Given it closed at 4.30 there is nowhere to have a drink or food . We were actually the only guest staying so totally on our own in the evening no one in the grounds so a little eerie and isolating , needs a bar in the evening in winter .
Breakfast amazing the best we have had and the staff couldn’t do enough for us so lovely so thank you . Little
Pricey given no facilities in evenings . We paid for deluxe king which was nice . Just needs few more facilities it just has golfers . Courtyard be nice in the summer . We have stayed in the cottage previously which we loved . No facilities at all after 5pm and we were entirely on our own so quite expensive albeit room was nice . Little more atmosphere perhaps .
- Graham (10/5): Peaceful and restful - The breakfast was cooked on demand and had a great selection. The room was a great size and had views over the golf course down to Rutland water. The staff really went beyond expectations and delayed breakfast so we could complete the Rutland park run. We will be back again when in the area. Nothing
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional -
