• Maria Rugarcia Aguado (10/5): Nous avons adoré! - TOUT. La qualité des dîners et petit déjeuners était top. Le chemin pour arriver…. 20 mins d’un chemin interminable. Mais ça vaut le coup.
• Marie-Cécile (6/5): Mauvais rapport qualité prix - Les chambres avec piscines privées sont très belles et bien décorées. Elles sont une très belles vues au coucher du soleil. La partie bar est aussi très design. La prestation n’est pas du tout à la hauteur du prix. A plus de 500€ la nuit, on s’attend à un service qui n’est tout simplement pas. Apres 5h de route, personne n’est là pour vous accueillir avec une serviette rafraîchissante ou vous aider pour les bagages. On ne vous accompagne même pas à votre chambre. La qualité de la nourriture n’est pas du tout au rendez-vous: nous avons déjeuner le midi: la carte est petite et ce n’est pas qualitatif. C’est dommage car les installations ont un très beau potentiel, il manque clairement le service qui va de paire avec ce type d’établissement.

Die Location und Umgebung sowieso. Das Abendessen ist zwar gut, aber ich finde es ein zu teuer. Alternativen bieten sich ja nicht an.

• Eva (10/5): Wunderschöne, besondere Unterkunft – mit kleinen Abstrichen im Essensbereich. - The Desert Grace ist wirklich großartig – eine außergewöhnliche Anlage mit viel Liebe zum Detail und einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre. Top Lage! Wir empfehlen die Skorpion-Tour! Der Essensbereich wirkt eher wie eine Kantine. Das war überraschend für uns für diese Kategorie.

Leider erlitten wir nach Genuss des optisch und geschmacklich erstklassigen Buffet eine Lebensmittel Vergiftung. Wir hatten nirgendwo oder irgendwas anderes gegessen.

• Frank (9/5): Design Erlebnis in der Wüste - Solitaire ist ein Design Erlebnis in der Wüste. Sehr nettes professionelles Personal gutes Essen. Die Klimaanlagen sind zu laut und lassen sich sehr schlecht regeln. Für einen Besuch der Dünen Sossusflei ist die Lodge so weit entfernt das man auf jeden Fall zwei Übernachtungen einplanen muss. Von Windhoek sind es mehr als 3 Stunden Fahrt, von Solitaire nach Sossusflei weitere 2 Stunden.

• Sharon (8/5): Our room and the morning drive were excellent but the restaurant not so much. - The location and the sunrise drive exceeded our expectations. The sunrise went on forever and our guide was excellent. Why we were the only two on the drive I have no idea… We had to sit inside for dinner and were seated at a table next to a huge mobile air conditioner. A waitress moved it slightly so it didn’t blow directly over us but a waiter kept moving it back. The air was so strong it kept blowing our water bottle over. A bit of sensitivity from the staff would have been good

• Oliver (9/5): - Hier hat von Anfang an alles gestimmt. Empfang war sehr freundlich (mit Erdbeersorbet). Super Zimmer mit toller Aussicht und eigenem kleinen Pool zum Abkühlen. Sehr gutes Abendessen und Frühstück. Aufmerksamer Service. Insgesamt: was für ein angenehmer Kontrast zur Anib Lodge! Gerne wieder! Kleiner Tipp: Wie wäre es mit einem Fahrrad für das Personal, um die langen Wege abzukürzen ;-) Nachts haben wir den privaten Pool allerdings ausschalten lassen. Bei der sehr ruhigen Umgebung nerven auch geringe Geräusche. Wer nicht gut zu Fuß ist, sollte ein Zimmer in der Nähe zur Rezeption nehmen, da die Wege lang sind. Man sollte berücksichtigen, dass man zum Sossusvlei einfach ca. 2 Stunden mit dem Auto unterwegs ist.

Las zonas comunes siguen la misma estética, la comida es buenísima y el personal super atento. Le comentamos a un empleado que si veía alguna jirafa por la zona nos avisara y vinieron a buscarnos cuando estábamos comiendo porque los habían encontrado, nos llevaron a verlos y fue increíble, toda una aventura. Nada, todo fue perfecto.

Muy buena la cena buffet con distinas estaciones; pastas, carnes, pizzas, quesos, fiambres...Postres ricos y divertidos! Lindísma la decoración. Nos atendieron de maravilla en el restaurante. El desayuno tambíén buffet excelente. Durante el desayuno avistamos una manada de kudús y avestruces...Hermoso! Hicimos la excursión nocturna Scorpion walking tour: fue muy entretenida y aprendimos mucho sobre escorpiones, estrellas y constelaciones: gracias! Una estadía inolvidable. La señorita que nos hizo el check out: fue algo ruda conmigo y cero simpatía. Lamentablemente no recuerdo su nombre.
• Christoph (9/5): Sehr schöne Zimmer, mangelhafter Service - Diese Lodge hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Sehr schön gelegen, direkt am Rande der Namib, gab es wenig zu beanstanden. Die Lodge liegt traumhaft mit weitem Blick in die Landschaft. Die Zimmer (Bungalows) sind schön eingerichtet und gepflegt. Der nicht einsehbare Balkon mit Blick und Pool war wirklich schön. Restaurant und Bar wurden den hohen Ansprüchen gerecht. Die Mitarbeiter im Restaurant waren alle sehr freundlich. Der Empfang, der Service insgesamt können mit dem Anspruch dieses Hotels nicht mithalten. Die Mitarbeiter waren mit dem Einrichten des Shops beschäftigt, anstatt sich um die Gäste zu kümmern. Es gab keine Hinweise auf Aktivitäten die die Lodge anbietet, weder im Zimmer noch außerhalb, auch nicht an der Rezeption. Dass die Gäste Ihr Gepäck selbst zum Zimmer tragen müssen, ist bei einem Hotel dieser Kategorie auch zumindest ungewöhnlich.

• Ginger (10/5): Beautiful lodge! - One night in a beautiful lodge, room was the best one we had on our 2 week holiday in Namibia. Would love to have stayed more than one night, but was cost prohibitive. The lodge is 30 minutes off the main road (from Solitaire to Sussusvlei) and the road to get from the main road to the hotel was almost undrivable. They need to invest some money in repairing/grading the road. I imagine some vehicles cannot make it all the way.

• Stefania (9/5): - L'hotel è davvero bellissimo! immerso nella natura. le 14 camere hanno una privacy assoluta, ognuna ha la vista sulla savana e sono molto grandi. Se sei fortunato dal letto, dalla piscina privata e dal bagno puoi avvistare gli animali. Il ristorante è buono, e sono molto disponibili nel prepararti lunch box per le escursioni. La camera, il bagno e la terrazza esterna sono bellissime, pulitissime e molto curate. Purtroppo in una delle due stanze non funzionava il wifi, ma nulla di irrivolvibile!

• Grant (10/5): A delightful, relaxing & accommodating lodge close to Sossusvlei - The Lodge was relaxed. The food was diverse, fresh & so tasty (if you have a bad meal it’s your own fault through choice). The Staff were accommodating to all needs & nothing was too hard. A fab place to chill, enjoy the Namib Desert, swim in your own pool & check out some wildlife. Nothing to say here Toto.

• Luna Lima (10/5): Marcou minha experiência na Namibia - O The Desert Grace foi uma verdadeira surpresa! Ficámos 4 noites e facilmente teríamos ficado mais tempo. O quarto e o cenário são simplesmente deslumbrantes. A equipa… sem palavras! Uma simpatia e profissionalismo que emocionam — merecem todos os parabéns. O menu de almoço é simples, mas o pequeno-almoço e o jantar foram espetaculares. Apesar de o jantar ser em formato de rodízio, a qualidade e o sabor estão ao nível dos melhores restaurantes europeus. As bebidas são preparadas com cuidado e muito bem servidas, a preços justos. Depois da estadia, segui para um hotel que custava o dobro… e, sinceramente, ficou muito aquém da experiência incrível que tive no The Desert Grace.

Everything you require is in the room and if not reception will sort it for you. The buffet was delicious and plentiful. The private terrace and pool was amazing with an untouched views. We did the sundowner tour and saw some game and had great drinks and snacks -Make sure you stop at the photo frame/ fridge on the drive in from the gate! We would highly recommend staying here.

• Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning luxury in the desert We planned to spend the day after we arrived relaxing in our room after a very long drive the day before from Fish River Canyon. When we got back from dinner on evening 1 the awning over our pool was gone. The next morning we had breakfast went for a walk came back and still no awning. By midday the sun had moved around there was no shade left on our terrace and still no awning. My husband called reception. At 12.45 I called reception and they claimed they hadn’t understood what he was asking. By 1.15 sun was beating into our room I hadn’t heard back from reception so I walked to reception. They said they would speak to maintenance. By 2pm we had the curtains closed and were sitting inside in the dark. The maintenance team arrived but it took them an hour to put that awning back up. By the time they left it was almost time for us to start getting ready for our sunset drive. The entire day planned around sitting on the terrace and using the pool was gone. No one apologized and no compensation offered. In fact we never saw a manager in the 3 days we were there.

• David (10/5): Wonderful Desert Grace. 5 star. - Incredible place. Quality of the rooms, facilities and overall property was outstanding. My only suggestion for the Desert Grace is to make the plunge pools solar heated. They are too cold even to plunge in, and they get sun every day, so solar heating unit for each pool makes sense. It is frustrating to not be able to use a beautiful pool in your apartment.

Driving to the property was great experience - came in the sundowner. The breakfast and evening buffet - high quality food. Fresh food, excellent barbacue, salads, and their home-made ice cream. Good service by people who worked at the property. Friendly bartenders. Extraordinary sundowner with the guide from Desert Grace - our guide was highly skilled on the animals, friendly and chill person. It was very pricy stay over. Otherwise, fantastic.

Food variety at dinner but thinking where the hotel is I am sure the effort is huge to give us the best they can.

(8/5): Well designed lodge which does not quite live up to its own claim - The Desert Grace has a recognizable lovingly designed concept - particularly the very well equipped rooms correspond to the high-quality claim of this lodge in the top category of the Gondwana Brand. The private pools with uninterrupted views of the red dunes of the Namib are wonderful - especially for families with small children. The nightly Scorpion Walk is also highly recommended. For a hotel of this price category: The quality of the food is unfortunately below average. The staff, although very friendly and eager, obviously lacks hotelier experience. Overall, there is unfortunately no recognizable service concept. The condition of the rooms is in some cases no longer at the highest level. Especially for travelers coming from the south, the location of the lodge for a visit to Sossuvlei is only conditionally recommended.
