• Margaret (9/5): A delightful short getaway in beautiful surroundings. - This place is in a gorgeous valley and the facilities have been developed over many years. There are many picnic spots. The pools are lovely. The grounds are beautiful. We stayed overnight in a cabin. The bed was very comfortable and everything clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food was nicely cooked. Could have used another piece of furniture in the room to put stuff on.

The property would be a paradise for families with children. Gorgeous grounds. The cabins could be charming but a little lacking in amenities. Good size refrigerator. The cabin had lots of beds but tiny bathroom. Nothing in the kitchenette except mugs and glasses; no plates or silverware, coffee filters or anything else to make it useful. If one knew that ahead of time, you could prepare by bringing your own.

• Paul (10/5): - Hotel super sympa et relaxant. Une petite parenthèse au milieu de la forêt. Les bains sont super (on peut y rester des heures 😇) tout comme les massages :). Le restaurant propose entre autres des plats typiques à un super bon et à un très bon prix :) Personnel attentif et serviable (nous avons eu un petit souci avec l'eau chaude qui a été résolu assez rapidement).
• Russ (8/5): Cheap & Cheerful Jungle Hot Springs - My wife and I found this place to be and interesting side trip within our larger trip to San Jose. The accommodations are cheap and cheerful clean and very adequate but not a five-star hotel by any means. The accommodations are spacious the bedding the mattresses the showering facilities everything was quite adequate. There wasn't hot water coming out of the shower although there's some kind of electrical attachment at the top that I suspect was made for warming up the water slightly. The grounds are quite Lush and well worth seeing. I understand this place offers a zip lining and some other activities . There is a very beautiful River Running along the outside of the property and even a beautiful little waterfall . You definitely won't have a problem with dry skin when you're there as the whole place is in the jungle and it was quite damp and Misty most of the time we were there but get yourself down to the star of the show the mineral hot springs immerse yourself in the water and enjoy . The mineral spring hot water area is about 24 in deep a cloudy brown color and very comfortable. It is warmer just about a few degrees above lukewarm but not really hot. If you want the hotter water go and rest yourself under the spigots that are spraying out the mineral water as it's quite warmer the water coming out of the spigots. The dining facilities are open air with a roof cover and the staff was excellent the food was very good the drinks were aplenty. Not easy to find but not really that difficult if you have your smartphone with you. Again a good trip within a trip definitely off the beaten path definitely not five star but really interesting place with lots to see a lot of earthiness and you can really get in touch with Mother Earth. Remember to bring your own towels they have a sign that says don't bring the supplied towels down to the mineral baths. That would be nice if they would tell you well in advance as we had to sneak ours down and back haha, the other thing was we suspect that the place was heavily sprayed with insect repellent as it smelled like some kind of perfume cleaner/ something would put an identify but very strong and we suspect it was insect repellent in the cabin we had.
• Kosmoski (8/5): Hidden gem - Wonderful stay - but it's a rustic spot. If you're looking for 'American' luxury - this is not it. This is more of a locals place, set in a remote valley. But with that said, we loved it. It was an adventure. Food was good - not amazing, but we didn't want amazing. We wanted local. That's the whole point of going to another country . . .

• Noa (7/5): - מקום מהמם ממש בלב הג׳ונגל, אווירה מגניבה בביקתות ונוף מכל כיוון. כל העובדים מאוד נחמדים. הבריכות החמות טבעיות ושקט ונעים. בחדר עצמו היו המון חרקים ולא הרגשתי כל כך בנוח, הדלת כניסה לא אטומה מספיק ובקלות יכלו להכנס כל מיני חרקים. המטבח יכל להיות נקי יותר ובכללי יותר נקי.
• Jessi (8/5): Relaxing day, would've considered a day pass instead of staying overnight - The free breakfast was pretty good, with large servings. Overall, it's a beautiful place in the middle of nature where you can spend a peaceful day. The river nearby is a nice view. The springs aren't really "hot springs", more warm springs. The large pool was the best(little tip, sit underneath the jets if you want some heat). . The bed was very comfortable. Overall, it was a good stay and we found it a relaxing day. One bonus is you have access to the pools before you check in all day, and you have access all day the next day even after checkout for the pools. That's a big bonus for the value of the stay. The free breakfast had meat and cheese that were fake and the you could tell was just processed food. The pools are dirty looking, we understand the colour is because of the minerals but there was clumps of hair and bugs and some other stuff floating around and laying on the ground in some areas. The rooms are definitely dated, and had a tiny bathroom. could use a little more cleaning in the grounds. We also went on a Sunday, so lots of locals came with day passes and it was busy. Looking back, we would've just got a day pass and stayed nearby.

• Paul (10/5): Great place to enjoy the first night of our anniversary getaway to Costa Rica. - Enjoyed the peace and quiet of off-season with low capacity. The rains were enjoyable to listen to, as well as the river running next to the property. We enjoyed our two dining experiences at the restaurant also. There was nothing we didn’t like about the property or experience.

Nach einem Wechsel hatten wir dann ein geräumiges Cabin. Das Frühstück inklusive war sehr mager und lieblos, wobei das Abendessen im Restaurant durchaus gut war.

Breakfast was tasty, with fresh local options, and we enjoyed seeing exotic animals around the property. The hammock on the terrace was a perfect spot to relax and take in the atmosphere. The metal roof made it difficult to sleep during heavy overnight rain.

The room felt a bit cold and not very cozy. The shower only had somewhat warm water. Nights with hard rainfall can be noisy on the roof.

• Eduardo (10/5): - Estuvimos alojados en Recreo Verde y fue una experiencia excelente. Desde el momento de la llegada, el trato de todo el personal —recepción, cocina, spa, ayuda en general— fue muy amable, atento y siempre dispuesto a resolver lo que hiciera falta. Las habitaciones están bien: cómodas y equipadas para lo que se necesita para relajarse, en medio de la naturaleza. Las instalaciones son muy completas: las piscinas termales son un lujo, invitan a desconectarse, y las vistas de alrededor son inolvidables. También el restaurante “Las Orquídeas” tiene platos muy buenos en relación calidad precio. En resumen, Recreo Verde es un lugar ideal para descansar, conectar con la naturaleza y sentirse bien atendido. Lo recomiendo sin dudarlo, y sin duda volveríamos.

Plenty space for kids to run/play, hot springs, gorgeous river stream. We only had one morning, but would’ve easily stayed for a couple nights if we didn’t have our next stop scheduled! Totally recommend this place - be prepared as this is more like a high-end “glamping”. Plenty beds and sleeping accommodations. Very respectful and accommodating staff.

Les cabinas ne sont pas équipées, il n y a pas de plat ni rien pour cuisiner. Il faut tout apporter avec soi. Le restaurant ferme tôt et il n y a rien pour acheter à manger à proximité.

Room has a safe, desk, and comfortable clothing storage. Everything was clean and the cleaners available throughout the day. Unfortunately none of the rooms have windows that can be opened so there is always the a/c smell.

• Steve (6/5): Mal organisée - C’est la réception de II n’est pas du tout organisée. Trop tôt d’une demie heure pour la clef. On nous a fait attendre pour l’avoir dans le stationnement mais une heure plus tard, toujours rien. On est allés voir une employée qui nous a envoyés « la bas » en espagnol pour notre chambre. On a cherché avec allers retours la chambre qui n’avait pas de numéro de porte et qui n’était pas en ordre chronologique en montant et descendant une pente très abrupte au risque de briser le jeep. Pas de wifi. Une fois trouvée, c’était bien au niveau confort et piscines.

There was a kitchenette in our cabin with a fridge, hot plate and coffee machine but the only dishes provided were glasses and coffee mugs. The kitchen needs to be properly equipped.

• Carin (8/5): Beautifully enjoyable and rustic - The area was beautiful, the amenities great and the cabin was very nice. There were a couple of things that made the stay less comfortable than it should have been. 1. There was not kleenex nor paper towels and the toilet paper was so thin it basically fell apart as you pulled it off the roll. It made any kind of wiping (either of body parts or of cleaning) hard to do. We did not want to use the towels/hand towels for those things - and did not have the number of towels we would have needed to do that anyway. 2. There were no top sheets on the beds, only a spread. There was one top sheet in the closet, but our son was with us, so we needed two. All in all it was a good place to stay and the area was great! Being from the US, we probably won't visit again because we like to experience different cultures and countries each time we vacation.

A lot of wildlife like howling monkeys and many birds. The staff were super friendly and nice! The Food was not our favourite. Also we stayed during eastern and it was super busy in the swimmingpool and hotsprings.

The lodges are essential and this may be fine but perhaps they could be maintained better. Simple tools could be very useful to organize things in the room eviting chaos. The breakfast is essential. The restaurant is not very good. Personnel is kind but they are not well prepared they are slow very slow. The restaurant is an option for a dinner if you are tired and you like avoiding the use of the car once more in the hard road in the night. This at least our experience. Restaurant to be improved as far as food richness and operation speed. In the lodges very simple things: a chair inside, some wall pin or tools to hang things, better bed sheet suits

You are surrounded by nature and all you hear day and night is the rushing of the river. Every single staff member there was very friendly and helpful. Cabins are spacious and include a kitchenette in them. Day activities were easy to schedule. Ziplining was fantastic here, highly recommended!

• Angela (10/5): If you are looking for authenticity, a Beautiful Pl., Hot Springs, this is the place for you! - I loved thatThis property was tucked at the bottom of the rainforest. I felt as if we got the best slice of Costa Rica at our location. It was not touristy. It was quiet with the sound of howler monkeys in the morning. While there is no air conditioning, which I was concerned, there absolutely was no need for one. If there was anything we needed, we would ask via WhatsApp and it was brought to our location within minutes. The restaurant on site was the best food we had in Costa Rica at dinner. The hot springs were clean and very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly. I look forward to going back! If you want authenticity this is the place for you. There was nothing we did not like. We would have been better suited Had we known better Spanish. But that's OK, they made sure we understood if there was any kind of language barrier. Another thing I did not like was that we had to leave!

• Tobias (9/5): Immersion in Nature - The friendly and welcoming staff was superb. It does not seem to be much of an international tourist destination as almost everyone of the guests was tico. The thermal pools were the right thing to do after a day of hiking to the waterfalls around the corner from here. We slept under a blanket of sounds from the river, the rain hitting the roof and the wildlife and woke up with some coffee on the porch (we brought the powder with us). If we had stayed longer, we would have used one of the BBQ places at the river side to cook our own meals. There is nothing that we disliked - maybe a sharp edge in the shower where I cut my hand.
• Anna (9/5): Very pleasant stay - Really friendly staff helped us getting around the hotel. We got a nice cabin, quite simple inside but it had everything we needed. The hotel is in a very nice area, surrounded by the forest. It has a viewing platform, a short hiking path, and swimming pools with thermal waters. The restaurant is nice to chill. They prepared us some take-away breakfast as well, since we had to leave early that day. Overall really happy with it! Our only complaint was that the water in the shower was cold.
• Jan (1/5): ROOM FULL OF BUGS! - Hot Springs were somehow OK, but not worth visiting. Every other we have ever visited was better. BUGS IN A SIZE OF 1 TO 4 cm IN THE ROOM! A LOT! I COUNTED 25 AND THEN I RATHER STOPPED COUNTING! Absolutely terrible experience! A lot of noise form the river. Nearly nobody from the staff was able to speak English. Avoid this place!

• Nick (9/5): Nice relaxing stay - The lodge is big and close to the hot springs. The staff is very friendly. The location is spectacular. Its like you are sleeping in a national park. Although there is a microwave and a cooking spot, there is no cutlery, pans and plates.
• Emil15 (10/5): Exceptional - A very special place. I love it and hope I will return one day. Everyone was exceptional and the location is pure heaven. The pools are awesome as well and of you wake up early you get the chance to have them all for yourself. The morning alarm are the howler monkeys. Everything was great

We were on a business trip but the family went with us and stayed at the hotel while we worked. The hotel offers amazing natural hot spring water pools, very relaxing after work. • Patrick (10/5): AWESOME place - loved everything!! - LOVED EVERYTHING!!! The room was large and kind of rustic in a camp sort of way but charming and had great chairs to sit and watch the jungle. Andrew the chef is clearly Michelin - bound made excellent meals and the massage was heavenly and in a superb setting! Hot mineral spring pools were also GREAT!
