Guest Reviews
- Jesus (10/5): - This is a piece of old Mexico. Keep in mind that the town around it s still in the old mindset so don’t expect a American or a European level of ci cleanliness.
- Tamsin (7/5): A lovely hotel in beautiful Puerto Angel in need of some TLC - The Buena vista is a beautiful hotel, though in need of some renovation and care. The sheets on the bed had holes in them. Common areas needed sweeping and the walls of the room also needed a sweep. The cheaper room we first stayed in wasn't nice, but when we upgraded we really liked the room.
- Alain (8/5): - Bien
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Joshua (1/5): Horrible experience - Horrendous, awful, disgusting etc. Although we had paid for another night we left this hotel a night early. 28 countries and more than 2 years of traveling… This is up there with the worst places we have ever stayed. The room was like an old war bunker. You wouldn’t let your garden shed get like this. It's a bed in a room something like what I imagine people traffickers would keep you in before you were sold, you could forget the dead bugs and the live ones but it didn’t end there… there’s just nothing but dirt, the place is soo run down and bare, no bed side table, no mirror, broken mosquito mesh on the window, broken mosquito net over the bed, no WiFi, no drinking water, the only plug is 1m from the bed and its 2 metres from the floor. Anything we tried to convey to the staff was basically ignored. The reception is just a woman and kid that we found it very hard to communicate with. It took hours to get towels. The bathroom is pretty much unusable as the swarms of mosquitos just feast on you the minute you open the door. There’s is a kitchen but they wouldn’t let me use a peeler to peel my carrots and when we wanted some hot water for noodles, literally whilst the staff sat there and ate noodles they wouldn’t give us cup full. We couldn’t find any good restaurants, only scammers on the beach, If you want my advice just don’t go to puerto angel.
No recomendable.
- Gertrude (5/5): Okay but too far away - Star link wifi available only in the dining room one floor away. Interesting very old place that must have been great but currently very limited services. Ant parade outside the door and a scorpion in my last day.
- George (6/5): Very economical hotel. The pool are was fantastic! Easy enough walk to beach and town area. - The pool area was awesome! Rooms were large. Bed was ok. The stairs! Definitely don’t stay if you are out of shape or can’t do stairs!
- Veronica (8/5): Great, - The manager created such a friendly environment. She wenntot of her way to accommodate our family. She suggested things we needed. We will definitely stay there again The wifi is not in the rooms, cats begging for food, and the cleaning staff did not come daily to see if we needed any services
- Angel G (8/5): - No. Air conditioner
- Fermin (6/5): - No air-conditioned and many mosquitoes. The hotel is nice but you have to see it with open mind
- saul (4/5): No vista at all - Hotel is Deteriorated badly.
- Veronica (8/5): A must stay... book and enjoy - The mqmqger was amazing. She really went out her way to help us.
- Amy (10/5): Great value for money - We pretty much had the place to ourselves, it was so quiet. The rooms are big and well ventilated with a good working fan, and also very clean, so this was great. The pool was lovely and with a beautiful view. Simple place but had everything we needed. Would be good if use of the kitchen was provided as there isn’t that many places to eat in the town, or at least free coffee and tea
- Marcelina (8/5): Very good -
- Eleanor (3/5): Definitely not designed for seniors. - Too many stairs. I am a senior citizen and it wasn’t possible to make it up to the pool which was at the top about 5 flights up. Also the dining room was only open early in the morning and it was 3 flights up.
- Gemma (8/5): Good size rooms in the hills. - Goo location, but you will have to walk up a hill and a few stairs. Pool is at the very top, it's a good size and kept clean. There is no restaurant or breakfast available but you can get a coffee in the mornings. WiFi is only available near the eating and reception area. Rooms are big and have a hammock each, the beds are a little firm and there is only a fan. Also noticed that there was a drainage issue in the bathroom so there is a bit of a smell. There is also only light curtains on all the windows.
- Aldo (8/5): - Fyi
- Chantael (6/5): Pleasant - Pool was beautiful. They have hammocks!! Not enough staff. Needs more staff for maintaining this beautiful property. Many stairs. Do not stay if you have any issues with stairs, they are everywhere.
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chantael (7/5): Good -
- Elaine (10/5): Rooms were very comfortable and the property has a lovely ambience - Delicious breakfasts. Great pool and pool area. It would be nice if Wi-Fi was available in the rooms. Also a big improvement would be a small fridge and a coffee pot in the room.
- Mads (5/5): Lovely place but we had a bad experience with the staff. - The guy working in the reception kept us waiting for an hour even though we arrived within the opening hours of the reception.
When we got our room the toilet wasn’t clean and we weren’t satisfied at all as we arrived after a long day and expected everything to be working when paying more than usual for a night.
- Thomas (8/5): Comfortable - Nice big towels; an older facility, but upgrades and improvements were made Friendlier stafff
- Tamsin (9/5): Lovely place in beautiful Puerto Angel -
- Florencia (8/5): Very good -
- Milena (4/5): Disappointing - The view is amazing. The rest no! The staff is very unfriendly, you dont feel welcome at all. The dont even great you correctly and give you no informations.
We suggest to go to Zipotle, where everybody is kind and helpful. Avoid Puerto Angél, especially this hotel.
- kenneth (4/5): - Management not particularly helpful. Wi horrible except in hotel office. Pool was nice!
The place has great potential
- Pskala (10/5): Exceptional -
- Youri (7/5): Good -
- David (1/5): don't stay here - nada
- Willow (9/5): we had a wonderful time at the hotel, very calm and relaxing! - swimming pool, beautiful view, easy access and very helpful staff. the hotel restaurant is closed
- Christopher (6/5): Pleasant -
- Villanueva (8/5): Very good -
- Aurore (9/5): Superb - The hotel is very clean, and very beautiful and the personnel is adorable!
Thank you!
- Coello (9/5): Peaceful - They have a wonderful view 😍 Everything was great
- Thomas (9/5): lovely stay - comfortable beds, big bathroom, nice balcony view, clean swimming pool. great location a minute's walk to the beach.
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francis (10/5): Simple living and awesome location. - This place is a secret that I would like to keep :) It is not a five star resort, but it is a very unique place if you are looking for an authentic and simple place in Puerto Angel. The view, the pool, the friendly staff are reasons for me to come back to this hotel when i'll visit Puerto Angel again.
- Michelle (5/5): Basic and clean. - The location of the hotel is nice and the exterior is truly lovely. The pool offers a spectacular view and the place is really quite peaceful. The kitchen was not available for use and what is seen in the picture is not what what we got. The hotel is very basic. No hot water (which is not necessary for the heat, to be honest), the air flow in the room was pretty low and our room was very dark. Maybe other rooms were better, but what we got, is not what was we expected.
- Denise (8/5): overall it is an good value - nice pool! quiet location, friendly staff, great for budget travelers not clean bathroom, must provide own drinking water, no coffee in morning
- Miles (8/5): Very good - rooms were good, pool was incredible beds were a bit stiff for our liking
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Julien (10/5): Exceptional - rooms 6 and 10 were really nice! no wifi, no breakfast
- Hector (5/5): Passable -
- Marci (9/5): We stayed twice during our trip because of the value and beauty of the property. - Beautiful hotel with excellent gardens and views. A little tricky to find at first.
- Peter (2/5): AVOID AT ALL COSTS - A fabulous dream built by someone years ago who would be spinning in their grave to see it today! An architectural stone masterpiece by by someone of vision and big talent. The garden has not been attended for over a year. Railings are WILDLY unsafe! Dryrotted and a finger could push thwm over a 20 foot edge. The pool is dark green and not one sun chair on the pool deck.... This place obviously held upscale weddings etc in it's day and the excellent kitchen is well stocked with good equipment yet your room comes with exactly two towels. NOTHING ELSE. We asked for a water glass, wine glass anything....and a corkscrew.... "not allowed" Huh.... the front desk lady called the manager and when she hung up she said sorry we are not allowed. Nice vacation! Bienvenidos.... NOT!!! When we left the kitchen door was open.... in it's day this was the Ritz. Totally stocked, dishes in sink etc.... AVOID AT ALL COSTS. See above
- Joanna (10/5): - Awesome pool, very nice receptionist, beautiful dining area under huge palapa, with very cheap and good breakfast, friendly perro Jacobo…unbeatable for that price!
- Mindy (10/5): - Beautiful property
- Julian (8/5): La Buena Vista Feb 2022 - The hotel is somewhat run down. The photos definitely flatter it. There were no sun beds at the pool, lighting in the room was poor. There was no hot water. It was very difficult to get much sleep due to dogs barking all night. It is, however very reasonably priced and the breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and the setting is really nice.
- Pedro Campos (8/5): - L'environnement naturel
- Saika (6/5): 3 star accommodation with bad service - The hotel has a great atmosphere in the middle of nature. You can easily get relaxed in the beautiful villa with a nice room and pool. Here are several points to know before you book this property.
The shower can produce only cold water.
The room has a Wi-Fi connection but weak.
Their staff are unkind and have a low hospitality mind.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was no internet in the room. They advertised internet but it was only in common area.
Room had burned light bulbs and hard to close door.
For this price I expected more.
Would not come back.
- Miriam (10/5): - Nos encanto!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Un secreto escondido.
