Francine (7/5): Leuke plek om mee te maken. - Heerlijk rustig verblijf in leuk klein plaatsje . Makkelijk naar strand en leuk plaatselijk leven te zien. In dorp leuke goedkope restaurantjes. Er wordt nog verbose dus beetje rommelig en keuken erg rommelig.
Hanna (9/5): - yes, the building is unfinished so it‘s not a ten out of ten but it‘s just a very real unpolished experience (less touristy than other places on the coast), the kitchen was great, very well equipped, the host was very very friendly, the room was very clean and even had a fridge plus ac inside, you could use a bicycle for free if you wanted, they give you a towel and soap all for a very low price! I‘d sleep here again!

maria del roble (8/5): Buen lugar paga una noche y económico - Lo utilizamos solo un día para descansar ya que queríamos conocer Akumal y nadar con tortugas . Queda cerca de todo en coche, la habitación limpia y comoda , aún que las instalaciones exteriores , un poco descuidadas y le falta limpieza . La chica que nos atendió amable. Relación precio calidad muy buena Falta de orden y limpieza en las instalaciones externas como la cocina . Hay muchas cosas pero desordenadas y sucias .

Helen (5/5): Has potential but staff are apathetic - Free drinking water refill. Privacy screens on bunks. Fully equipped kitchen. Small fridge in dorm. I’m not sure where the good reviews came from? Incessant high-pitched barking from dogs on roof across the street is CONSTANT. Add to this the acoustics of flat concrete walls and it’s enough to drive you insane. Very difficult to hold a conversation with anyone. The girl who “checked” me in upon arrival was completely rude. She behaved as if my mere presence was an inconvenience. She did the absolute bare minimum of showing me to the dorm room and handing me the keys. I later discovered she had neglected to tell me the door lock code, as my roommate couldn’t enter the room as I had used the door knob lock which can only be opened using the key. I was not provided any kind of welcome, not given any information about the local area or any points of interest I might like to visit. This place is set in a residential neighbourhood, so expect neighbours about doing neighboury things, right up until late at night. No personality or atmosphere. The whole place looks unfinished. The common area by the kitchen on the ground floor has a plastic foldable table with 3 plastic chairs. There’s 2 plastic outdoor chairs in the 2 level, but no table. No couches, no way to comfortably sit and chat with fellow travellers. I witnessed two different male cats marking their territory on the fridge and the oven

Elyse (10/5): Mellow vibes hostel with kind staff - Great rooftop view for sunsets. Comfortable rooms with fans and AC. Included towels and soaps. The owners are very kind and helpful! Bicycles help a lot to get around town and to beaches. Dogs barking at night

James (3/5): Affordable but you will not sleep - You could walk to Akumal beach (across busy road) and the staff were nice. Big tv in room. Our room opened into the communal kitchen with people cooking at all hours and sitting chatting. Cats and dogs making noise all through the night. One evening we came home to find a pile of half eaten bones outside our door. Air con control did not work.
Emmanuelle (8/5): Very nice hosts and comfortable rooms. - The rooms were very comfortable. Nice to have access to the kitchen. Parking available on the street. Problems with the 1st night reservation through Bookings. I didn’t really mind but hotel looks like it is under construction. No nice beaches nearby. Akumal beach is small, cordoned off and pricey. Half moon beach is not really accessible to the public and it is very rocky.
Jeremie (8/5): Overall a good stay. - Good hostel with helpful staff. Our shower stopped working and they had it fixed within five minutes of us telling them. Quite a bit of noise in the neighbourhood, and the room actually got a bit cold at night. Blankets or an extra sheet would have been nice.

Michael (8/5): A great option, and walking distance to Akumal beach and the turtles. - They are wonderful people, and couldn’t have been nicer or more friendly. I would stay again. It’s a good price and the location is off the Main Street so is quite but it’s not the Ritz, so don’t expect it to be for the price. Great value if you’re on a tight budget. I went for the snorkelling and saw an eagle ray for five minutes, 2 sea turtles, 4 sting ray, and lots of parrot fish, and a star fish. Definitely recommend! Nothing really. Everything was as I’d expected. There were a couple of small cockroaches, but easily dealt with, and not hot water but showers still nice. And in the heat you wouldn’t want a hot shower!

Joanne (6/5): Spacious room - The room is spacious and netflix is installed on the tv. You can use the kitchen to make your own breakfast. The accommodation is not finished yet, they are still building. A real noisy waterpump is on in the evenings, but luckily not at night (went off at 22.00). No outside view from room, just a hallway. Our bathroom was not well cleaned, hairs from previous guests and a killed cockroach flattened remains on the wall.

Lisa (8/5): I would stay here again! The service, once we got past the language barrier, was excellent! Friendly, accommodating, and - small, personal and super casual. loved that there was a washer and dryer available for use. the room, upgraded from dorm to private due to confusion on booking.com, was just perfect. nothing fancy, but it was very clean, had hot shower, air conditioning and the bed so comfortable. tv was an unexpected surprise, and wifi was strong enough. Location was also good. Made for a nice walk everyday to go to the beach. It was also easy to find. the dorm space i had originally intended on staying. it was cramped with Messy Messy people staying. would not have been comfortable had i chosen to stay in it. lockers also weren’t bolted down so even trying to put something in it was difficult. and because booking.com confusion, i thought i was getting a twin bed in the dorm, when only bunks are available. the room upgrade to a single private was absolutely worth it and made the initial frustrations disappear.
Joyce (6/5): a nice hostel in an authentic Mexican town. - It was a nice spacious room, private bath, king size bed, sink, coffee maker, small fridge, room service after 3 days. close enough to walk to the beach or take a small taxi. close to fruit market, stores, and restaurants. the kitchen was being renovated but we could still use the newer gas stove and sitting areas.
Elsa (4/5): You get what you pay for - Nice tv with Netflix, a fridge and sink in the room. No outdoor area to chill and the bedroom was on the ground floor so we had to keep the curtains closed overwise everyone would see into the room. So it was either staying in the room in the dark or going to the beach where you need to pay. No real kitchen. When we arrived the lady didn’t know about our booking and then we never saw her again.

Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable location. The owner was super helpful and friendly. Good location in town with lots of places to eat. They had bicycles to hire for a reasonable price so super easy to get to the beach. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms nice and clean with good hot water.

Victoria (10/5): lovely staff - it was really clean and the receptionist was lovely and helpful, also they had cheap bikes to hire. stairs a bit rough but once in your room it didn’t matter

Florencia (7/5): A bit pricey for what it is, but our stay was ok in general. There is a lot of room for improvement - The room was ok, tidy, spacious and good tv. Good bed mattress, pillows, sheets; very good quality. The owner although she was not very available, was nice. There was nobody there when we wanted to check in. The hostel is unfinished, and the shared areas are VERY untidy and dirty. With a bit of effort they could have it looking good. Empty water dispensers lying around, material piled up, wire sockets out etc etc. The first floor is not safe for children (stairs not finished and no balcony on one wall. You could notice the effort was in the room. The entrance has a very bad look.

David (7/5): Good value basic accommodation - Spacious room, large TV, friendly staff. Our downstairs room had no window to the outside (only to the corridor so the curtain had to be kept closed). No ventilation in the bathroom so it stayed wet and damp. The room had been newly refurbished but was not completed - eg. plastic protection sheeting still on shower door. No change of towels or bed linen or bins in the three days we were there.
Max (6/5): Pleasant - Good clean rooms with AC A stove, an outdoor hang out spot, emptying the bathroom bin more often with toilet paper!!!

Christian (10/5): Exceptional - Host Viktor has really thought through how to equip the room. It had everything, kitchenette, hairdryer, safe box, good Wi-Fi, fan and air con. Super nice hosts. One suggestion would be to add a drying rack for wet clothes inside the room. The hostel is still being built so looks a bit like a construction site, but we never heard any construction noise, so this is a very small gripe.
Kieran (6/5): Dusty place, under construction - The location was in the middle of the little Akumal town There was construction work going on during our stay, so noise, dust and power outages.
