Mark (3/5): Disappointed at how much the quality of this hotel has deteriorated. - The only good thing I can say about this hotel now is that it is right by a supermarket on the next block, which is convenient. This used to be my favorite hotel for staying in Ipoh, but I am shocked at how much its quality has gone down in terms of both physical condition and general service. Here were the physical problems with the room I stayed in: 1. The bathroom fan was non-functional, so the bathroom was always wet and humid. 2. The bathroom had a sizable hole in the ceiling right above the sink, and water leaked from this ceiling hole onto my head when I was at the sink. There was also water damage around this hole in the ceiling. 3. The faucet of the bathroom sink was loose at its base, so a little water was always coming out even with the faucet in the closed position, and there was almost no water pressure in the faucet, so the same little amount of water came out even with the faucet in the most open position. I had to use the cold faucet of the shower to wash my hands. 4. The remote control for the air conditioner had only one of the two batteries needed for operation, so I had to use the wall switch to turn the AC off or on. Problems with service: 1. There was no towel, no toilet paper, and no bar soap in the bathroom when I first checked in, so I had to request these from the receptionist. 2. OYO no longer provides shower gel or an oral hygiene kit even if requested. This hotel is not worth its current nightly rate if it does not provide these basics.
