- Anita (8/5): - There should be ceiling lights. The place is very dark. The lamps use up the outlets, and using an extension cord is just not good. The stairs are up to the bedroom steep, unsafe at night going down to the restroom. The upstairs beds are not accessible from the interior and it’s hard to cool the loft. A Murphy bed is a good option under the stairs. The rock stairs outside and the wood stairs are not conducive to bringing in luggage. The round toilet needs changed to oval/elongated for the guys. Not a good set up for the gentlemen in my family. Would be good to have some other breakfast options, eggs protein or something. Sausage gravy is nice though. Staff is amazing and I loved seeing little Jewell at the front desk. Nice family place.

- Julie (8/5): - We had a wonderful stay with our family of 6! The space was perfect. Could have a little more lighting inside. Very accommodating! The closing time of 8:00 for the pool and hot tub was disappointing. It didn’t allow us much time after a day of exploring/sights and dinner.

Our cabin was clean and surrounded by woods which we loved! The only thing is they are not queen beds wish we would have brought a blow up mattress for a little more sleeping comfort! They may have had cots available but we never asked!

Would have been good to better understand the cabin view before I booked but the sound was distant from traffic so ok. Parking was first come, first serve, but didn't pose a problem for us. The description said it included breakfast, but it was muffins, etc -- a to go meal only. Very clean, and we liked the deck very much for a quiet sit after sight seeing!

The staff was very friendly. It is close to town (walking distance if you want). Easy access to Rushmore, Jewel Cave, Custer St Park.
- Susan (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Rock Crest Lodge. It was convenient to the Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave and the Crazy Horse Memorial. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was nice after a day of hiking. The lodge is close to lots of food options, but is located in a quiet part of town. Contrary to the listing, there is no daily housekeeping. If staying multiple days, new towels can be obtained at the office and trash placed outside the door. That was fine. However, one thing we really missed was towel racks for wet towels in the bathroom. Overall we had a nice stay.

- Lori K (4/5): - In the online description, it said hot tub. Hot tub and pool were closed during our. They even advertised the hot tub on the outdoor sign. We stayed in a standard room with a king size bed. The room was very, very small. The cabins may be nicer, but the standard room in the motel was way overpriced. The breakfast was cereal and mini muffins, and instant coffee. That’s right, instant coffee. The staff was very nice, and the room was very clean. The heater was poorly working, and my husband had to jam towels and jackets underneath the door to keep the cold air from coming in. There is no place in the bathroom to hang wet towels. We checked out a day early, However, I doubt we’ll get a refund. I would not recommend this property at the price we paid which was $185 a night. This was a 79.95 room at best.

Almost all staff was super friendly and personable (only one staff member was a little less enthused), but overall, just awesome people! Everything was clean and up-kept. Laundry area was available on site too, which was very nice! If you have kids that don’t swing great, bring floaties for the pool. The entire pool depth was 4.5 feet, no shallow end. Lots of options within walking distance for shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Free take and eat basic breakfast. Nice pool. Walk up to cabins is steep and not recommended for elderly. Bed are not soft. Overall, nice cabin.

- Douglas (10/5): - It's a small, conveniently located motel that is set back from the road a bit. When we arrived, the paperwork and our room keys were waiting for us. Check in was done in seconds. The room was smaller than standard but contained everything one wants such as mini-fridge, microwave, hair dryer. The bathroom had a real exhaust fan that worked, not just a vent cover that does nothing like most hotels. The bath/ shower was in nice condition and the showerhead was fully functional. The TV, and wifi worked perfectly. The king size bed was comfortable. The price was right. Definitely a great place to stay at and a good value.

- Janet (10/5): - Our cabin was roomy and beautifully decorated. We felt instantly at home sitting on the sofa or in the outdoor chairs. It is very convenient to Badlands National Park (pull out of the parkjng lot and drive a few miles) and to dining and shopping. It even has a ceiling fan, which we miss from home. Of the ten places we stayed on our journey, this ranks #1. It's the nicest place in town!
- Eva (6/5): - Just okay for an overnight stay. Rooms were dark and furniture, carpet and bedding looked old and worn. Only one mirror in the room (in the bathroom). Beds were marginally comfortable. Location is good and it was fairly quiet at night.
- Pauline (8/5): Great Room but Breakfast was Light - Our cabin had gravel and steps up to it, the steps were fairly high so it wasn't easy getting luggage into the cabin. The cabin was great and a nice view. The beds were very comfortable. I was disappointed in the grab and go breakfast. Not a lot to choose from and I believe breakfast began at 8 and we were there by 8:10 am or so. So you may have to go across the street for breakfast at the Common Cents gas station.

- Barnaby (10/5): Great cabin space - This is 2 of 2 rooms rented here during this stay. This unit had an amazing outdoor feel as it is nestled upto a tree-lined field, woke up each morning to see a baby doe grazing just off private porch. This unit had working mini fridge, microwave, andTV. Did find a prior guest left a bag of chips in cabinets. This unit did have a broken/rotted hand rail to exterior staircase. Internet was slow and spotty, however i was not here for the internet or TV. I would definitely stay here again. Great location to all major national parks, taking the scenic route to sturgis give 1 hour of twists to ride.
