Guest Reviews
- 731beverleyn (8/5): Simple living on the hill. - We had hired mobility scooters, due to mobility issues of my party. So we got them delivered next day. Despite airport being near we had a transport shuttle as had wheelchair. So reception staff at castillo was really pleasant. Yes leave luggage go down hill have a meal or drink. We experience good meals. I am vegan and friends enjoyed their.meals while here. We were in Moon area by pool. Self catering. Reviews say don't go all inclusive. And found out why...I enjoying being left alone in self catering and using my scooter to go round whole area of Caletta de fuste. Yes wifi at reception but in cafes and restaurants. I would come again We did a few trips, but due to high winds could do out boat trip to island boo hoo. I enjoyed my 10 days here. Would go again.
- chloelV3059LW (10/5): Brilliant! - I honestly have no idea what others are referring to as what a wonderful place this is! We are here till 14th and I’d absolutely come again. 2 adults 2 children (10 and 15). A gorgeous peaceful place with everything you need. We had a request which was sorted within 5 mins and we didn’t have enough forks which they sent immediately. The little bungalows come with an iron, hairdryer, bin bags to replace, mop and bucket, sweeping brush etc. it’s everything you need! Loads of amazing restaurants close by: we’re vegan/veggie and can find something in most places. I was dreading coming with the reviews but I can’t complain about a single thing! We booked on a whim and was cheap for a December break and so glad we did. If I had to say anything it would be there is no WiFi in our room but I know that others do have it so just depends where you are. The whole place is also clean and tidy, including the little bungalows. English couple that run the little on site cafe are so sweet and accommodating to! Would love to come back. Weather has been gorgeous to :)
- 594tim (8/5): Excellent value apartment complex. Get booked! - This has been a great experience with no “proper” drawbacks only minor niggles. I’m amazed that it doesn’t have a higher overall rating from travellers. I wouldn’t like to have to provide all this for the price I paid. Would I return? Rather like the lady in apartment next to mine who’s stayed at “just about all of them” next to the pool nearest me - certainly !
Plus side : spacious apartment with decent equipment.
Huge complex, all single storey semi-detached apartments I think..
Choice of lovely pools, no shortage of sunbeds
Decent people
Short transfer
On site self-service laundry
Etc etc..
- 353rhiannonm (2/5): Wouldn’t give minus stars if I could! - Absolutely terrible I would not recommend. Dated dirty rooms and worst customer service I have ever received. The shower curtain was YELLOW meant to be white. The room was disgusting, dirty floors, dirty uncomfortable bed sheets and the bathroom was grim. We stayed there for one night as we had arrived late and paid £500 to move to another hotel the following morning because it was that terrible. The staff were so rude I have never experienced anything like it. You can only request towels THREE DAYS into your stay and even then they say they can’t give them until the 4th day as they need notice. Yes this is a cheap hotel but I wouldn’t give them my money for anything.
- shauntrish (8/5): Better than you think - Stayed at the Castillo beach club at the Vista's complex. The rooms are dated but have everything you need for your stay.We stayed A/I for a week then food wasn't that bad. There was always something you could eat, unless you only eat gourmet which nobody does. A/I is only available at the Mirador restaurant, so take your towel around to their pool and stay for the day. Overall had a great stay just a stones throw from bars and shops.
- L4441VOgeorgeb (8/5): Pleasant staff, clean bungalow in a nice location, clean & well kept pool cannot complain for price - Self catering. Clean bungalows, Lovely pool.. Staff pleasant & had no trouble or worries at all.. Great for price paid.
- DTheron85 (8/5): Fabulous no frills holiday! We will be back :) - After reading the terrible reviews I worried what our holiday would be like but we had the best week. Our room was clean and the bed was lovely and comfortable, typical dated island style bungalows.. ours was quite run down but it felt safe and secure, they are making there way around the park making improvements as you can see some have new doors and windows and one near us was getting a brand new bathroom. They give you a mop and bucket, brush and a dustpan and brush as well as a tea towel and a lined kitchen bin, I took a dish cloth and spare tea towel with us and we bought some extra toilet rolls when we stocked up with water. We took two towels each and a pillow case each from home and had no issue with the sheets not being changed.. how many people genuinely change their bedsheets more than once a week at home?!? The food was plentiful, good home cooked quality and a good variety, cocktails are included in all inclusive. We found the staff friendly enough.. some more than others but you get that everywhere. The pools are lush!life guards present , Public toilets clean. Absolute bargain holiday and We would very happily stay there again :)
- traceywA4061YO (2/5): Very very poor - VERY VERY POOR AND DISAPPOINTED THE ONLY DECENT THING ON SITE IS THE POOLS,
STAFF ARE RUDE AND UN HELPFUL
STAYED HERE FOR 7 NIGHTS,
NO CHANGE OF TOWELS OR BEDDING OR HOUSE CLEANING,
NOT TOOLET ROLL,PHONED RECEPTION TWUCE AND CALLED IN TWICE TO BE TOLD UT WILL GET DONE,AND NEVER DID
IT STATES EVERY THING IN KITCHEN FOR SELF CATERING
LOAD OF CRAP IN ARRIVAL NOT A WORKING KETTLE TOOK 3 DAYS TO GET ONE,
NO UTENSILS FOR GIVEN DOJNG A FRIED EGG,ABSOLUTELY DIGUSTED WITH THE PLACE,
My daughter first ever holiday abroad and she was disgusted with no house keeping etc
- Y644AGpauld (6/5): Great time - We stayed in lake gor two weeks at end of July room was basic but clean was set back ftom the pool can't complain for what we paid only problem we were all inclusive and was ten minute walk to restaurant and bar we ate out most days anyway pool was lovely and bar tropical was nice we went there for breakfast and it was only five euros food was lovely we had no issues with cockroaches felt really safe really close to all the bars and supermarkets we went to view bar every tea time for a few drinks and also went to the bell and zanzibar most evenings we had a great time and Anna on reception was really lovely we are going back next April for a week and staying there again we are going self catering this time cheap enough to eat out its basic but if you want four star then go somewhere else
- M1120XLnatashas (6/5): Cheap, cheerful but be cautious of belongings. - Castillo beach club bungalows were basic, the cleaning standard needs to be looked into as attention to details doesn’t happen but it was cleaned ok-ish. I didn’t realise how cheap and cheerful the place was til I got there. The pool area was nice, food wasn’t as bad as people made out. There’s no entertainment but are pubs near by.
I would recommend you use the safes and if your bungalow doesn’t have a safe which one of ours didn’t, move rooms as if you have a door that is wooden you are not safe, we were broken into, iPads, backpack, cash, cash card (with nothing on it, thank god) and our passports(they were in our bags) were stolen. The staff were really good, rang the police, police came said they can’t do anything until I made a statement, next morning I did that, not hopeful that they will even do anything as it’s been 6 days and heard nothing. Emergency travel documents still haven’t come and these are expensive (£125 each) .
The staff were great, they’ve even looked on their first sale sites for our iPads, they would have accommodated us but my children didn’t feel safe so we came to a villa.
Overall - cheap and cheerful if you just wanna get out of the UK, just be really cautious of your items, fuerteventura isn’t a lively place (water park is only open 3days a week) so wouldn’t advise bringing kids as mine have been bored. I’m looking forward to leaving.
- O1829GTangelag (2/5): Terrible - There is no cleaning of the apartments, we are almost at the end of our 2 week stay and have had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper and the bed sheets have never been changed.
- 493hichemh (2/5): Serious Security Concerns Overshadow the Experience - The hotel amenities are outdated, and the reception staff is generally unhelpful, offering only minimal assistance. Some of the restaurant staff were quite rude and unwelcoming, which made the experience less enjoyable.
During our stay, a neighboring family in a nearby bungalow was robbed while sleeping. The guest suspected possible involvement from someone within the club’s staff. Shockingly, we later found out that five other bungalows were also targeted that same night, with one guest losing €2,000. Even more concerning, the resort did not contact the police following these incidents, leaving the affected guests to handle the situation on their own.
On a more positive note, the swimming pools are clean and well-maintained.
- hollyhW7179LV (2/5): Terrible - I have never experienced anything like it. It's unsafe people's apartments been robbed. Cockroaches in your apartment. The food is terrible and no cleaning or toilet rolls. Staff do not care about the robbers. All you get told is that it's increased this summer. Filthiest place I've ever been. We booked flight home after four days and we had booked for 10 nights. Stay away at all cost.
- laurajA6399AZ (2/5): terrible - Came for a week with my boyfriend and his family, was expected to share one towel with my boyfriend for the entire stay, no fresh bedding, no clean towels, had to ask for toilet rolls. The pool had dead cockroaches floating around, the room had dirt and dust on the floors and if you don’t sweep and mop they charge you cleaning fees. awful experience.
- Sunshine49945948480 (2/5): Horrible experience - Wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me to. The room is fine, but dated but didn’t expect much. We were situated right next to the pool which you’d think was a bonus. It was not.
2 extremely drunk, ignorant women sat pretty much on our little balcony area after dragging sun loungers over from 11am to 8/9pm, drinking and yapping LOUDLY constantly. The more drunk they got, the louder and more inappropriate they got. Then the music came on and they shout over it. We politely asked them to move away from our doors as it got into the evening so we could have the doors open as it was hot. Was met with aggression, hostility and intimidation. Reception did speak to them and warn them they’d be ejected if they continued to disturb guests.
The pool area was frequently overtaken by selfish people blasting tinny music out of bluetooth speakers and generally being a nuisance.
Great if you like benidorm. Not if you want a relaxing, quiet break. It was like a constant assault. Even with noise cancelling earphones on. I could still hear it. The hotel allow this behaviour.
Probably my mistake for booking a budget hotel but the common decency seems to go out of the window as soon as you check in.
- melissarR140PF (8/5): Pleasantly surprised 😊 - After reading all the awful reviews I was filled with dread but, on our arrival we where greeted by friendly staff at reception and our accommodation was perfect. Accommodation was spotless and exactly what we expected, basic but clean. People need to remember they can't expect 4 star quality for 2 star prices. We would definitely come back again.
- Compass28097251873 (6/5): You get what you pay for - Ok ,heads up on this place , having stayed in both BEACH and LAKE many times you get what you pay for. LAKE is the better of the two regarding rooms .more up to date (its not the Hilton tho) which i prefer to stay. BEACH is where you will find the restaurant/bar area which is better if you wanna go ALL INCL. personal i woudnt bother with this option (but if you want to, you can pay 25euros for the day for ALL INCL .LAKE is gated and need keys to access the area where as BEACH isnt and anymore can walk around the area. LAKE does have a bar BUT it isnt part of the ALL INCL and drinks you have to pay for. its about 15 min walk to BEACH from LAKE to get a drink if ALL INCL so dont bother paying for ALL INCL if staying at LAKE . We all want a bargain for our monies , so if you want more , pay more . simple.
Also if you book this DONT PAY FOR SHUTTLE BUS TO ACCOM. A taxi is 15euros and its 20mins in the taxi to reception. there are plenty of places to eat and drink near by.
Hope this helps
- EnglisMan1968 (10/5): Great Stay - We have being going here for the last 3 years, two times a year, yes the rooms are very basic but it cheap and we have never had a bad room.
Few Tips if your visiting here, ask for more pillows the reception staff are great and very helpful.
You need to request for your room to be cleaned and ask maids for a towel change.
Location is great, alot of bars nearby and Hiperdino supermarket, across the road from the supermarket there is a British shop which iss great too.
- GoPlaces55228391815 (2/5): Avoid at all costs - A week of misery! This hotel is terrible one of the filthiest we as a family have ever stayed at from the rooms to the bedding not being cleaned or changed the food was cold and bland with about only 6-10 options we had to eat out most nights which cost us more we would have been better paying the extra for a better cleaner hotel/food. we also didnt feel safe in our room as the door was tried a couple of times at night with groups of men hanging about.avoid this dated terrible hotel!
- Bridget20251972 (2/5): Terrible rude old receptionist with ponytail - Seriously save yourselves from booking here as you will be disappointed, went all inclusive, the food was so bad we ended up paying to go out as none of us could stomach the food, which for breakfast was basically grim looking scrambled eggs, bacon that was reconstructed(not proper bacon) smoked sausage full of gristle or hard boiled eggs and dry stale cobs that we were sure were from the day before. lunch consisted of normally dry chips and perhaps a hot dog or some other thing we had no idea of(but it tasted fishy) evening meal was even worse, choice of pasta, some sort or rice dish normally with an odd shellfish on top, or either a dry fatty pork chop in some sort of sauce or chicken again in a similar weird tasting sauce, all which didn't taste fresh hence why we only tried it for a couple of days, just couldn't stomach it, the reception staff are also awful and rude, while waiting to check in we over heard the older woman(wont call her a lady as she was far from it) talking to guests like crap, one lady mentioned her husband was 84 and couldn't cope sleeping on the pull out sofa as he can't get off it as its on the floor, i heard that receptionist tell her it wasn't her problem as it states its a pull out bed, another lady was complaining she was self catering and have been asking for a kettle for 5 days and i overheard same receptionist fob her off and tell her to come back another day, that same receptionist was also very rude and abrupt to me too and i had to bite my tonuge as i had my children with me and didn't want to upset them. another male on reception also lied to me and said that all areas of the bungalows had wifi to fob me off when i asked to connect in reception. plus side because I will always give an honest review, the bungalows were clean and had everything we needed, apart from ants in the bathroom, plus every member of staff we spoke to in the bar/restaurant were friendly and polite. measures of spirits were generous so that made up a smidge. I'd never go back again though, as I also fell really ill prob from the food and the attitude of that one reception woman was awful, i understand serving a lot of people must get stressful, but if you can't handle being polite to paying guests you are def in the wrong job, people pay hard earned money to go away fro a break and certainly don't deserve to be treated like crap by the staff. just disgusted tbh. and avoid like the plague.
- megancJ5422KF (4/5): stumpy toes sausages - the room was adequate. the food was disgusting ate here once and the sausages looked like stumpy crusty toes. The pool outside our balcony was closed with big orange barriers around which ruined the view. not much entertainment going on around. would only stay here if you were looking for somewhere to sleep and nothing else. would not recommend.
- 31072003 (2/5): Didnt feel safe - Expected the room to be basic, it was ok. Whilst we were there, the police made several arrests, people staying in the hotel and from the house across the street from our apartment. Caught a man trying the door handle on our terrace at 2am, and men walking in groups around the complex at 3am.
Police were up and down the street late at night all week. Didn’t feel safe at all through out our stay. Might have been better if our room didn’t overlook the residential street, we would’ve been none the wiser as to the going on in the area. Reception team not very friendly at all. Couldn’t swim in the pool (although I attempted) it was freezing, not just cold.
- Belfastkev72 (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Cheap and cheerful. This hotel is very basic but staff are lovely. I had one of my best holidays here fuertventura is lovely. People expect the Hilton. But for what I paid I was well chuffed. You're a 3.50 taxi ride from the beach. Georgia was very helpful with my safe issue
- 732clareb (2/5): Worse hotel I ever been in. - This hotel has got to be the worse I’ve ever stayed in, I’m all for cheap and cheerful but this takes the mic. We wasn’t in our first room 5 mins when we were back at reception telling them how dirty it was and the lady did move us but the second room wasn’t much better. We decided we had to make the most of it so went to the supermarket and brought cleaning products to clean ourselves. The bed was so hard and the pillows were so flat I wouldn’t dare take the bedding off to check the mattress as I was scared to see what it was like. We’ve not had one room clean or bed change or towel change the whole time we are here we are now on day 4 days in, we asked the cleaning lady for some towels she said ask reception, very rude lady and the man on reception is very rude as well. The pool area is lovely only good thing about the hotel and we were very close to the restaurant pool. I’ve been to many different resorts and destinations as I go on 3 holidays a year and never ever left a bad review but we are still here now and I know this had to be done I wish I had took notice of the reviews before I booked.
- Jabba67 (2/5): Stay Well Clear - Has to be the worst hotel/apartment we have stayed in, during the 10 night stay not once did we have any form of service, bedding not changed, towels not changed, bins not emptied, the room was dated the furniture we did have in the apartment was broken, you could not sit on the so called sofa bed.
We were called liar's by a member of the maintenance team who accused us of moving 2 sun lounger's from the pool area to outside of our apartment.
I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone,,,,,,,,,,, stay well clear.
Unfortunately I did not take any pictures, just have to take my word on this place & all other reviews that tell you to Stay Well Clear
- 546jennig (6/5): Cheap and basic - I am not sure what people expect for the price. It’s so cheap it’s almost criminal! My only complaint was that our room was not cleaned at all and no fresh towels. However we did only stay for 4 nights so maybe that was why. Our room was basic and I think possibly a little damp in the bedroom. It was reasonably clean though. Meals were not great, and I would say stay self catering as there’s many good bars and restaurants near by. Taxis are cheap and easy to get.
The worst part for me were the drunk and loud guests! Not the hotels fault but they were embarrassing.
Friendly staff and everything you need in your room! Including kettle, toaster, microwave, cooker, crockery etc
- knoxneil2 (6/5): Cheap and cheerful. - Sceptical after so many bad reviews. Can't say I had a bad trip. Yes it's basic. Yes it's dated. But yes it's cheap as chips.. Only real complaint I had was the 30 minute queue to check in. Not receptions fault after a bus load just arrived before I did. Pool area was nice. Plenty bars and restaurants in close proximity. Can't comment on the food as was self catering. Don't think I'd fancy it in the height of summer as bungalow had no a/c. Great little place if you're only using it as a base. Read a few reviews about it being a high crime area. Witnessed none of this whatsoever. Lick doors and windows and you will be fine.. I would definitely return here again in the future.
- 47tinah (4/5): See why it's 2 star - Stayed here for 4 days all inclusive room was very nice and clean but food was very boring and often cold when we were researching hotel it said that the tropical bar was open but it wasn't there is only one place for food and drink hardly any choice on food
- Fearless828175 (10/5): Fantastic accommodation - Stayed on moon. The apartment was fantastic. Pool view, ceiling fans coffee machine and all for £27 a night. It's easy to walk down the hill and get a taxi back for less than 5€. How thus place gets bad reviews is beyond me. I was very surprised for the money. Will definitely be staying here again.
- 922aileent (8/5): Basic but not not bad - You get what you pay for. The apartment was clean. The beds are really comfy. We only got 1 towel each but asked for another and got it. The cleaning staff were always helpful. The kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and fridge were all clean. If you aarenot expecting much and just want a nice pool to lie by, this is ideal. The walk is pleasant, about 5 or 10 mins to town
- 3lionsmark (2/5): 3 day all inclusive wedding anniversary nightmare . Read thr reviews and make you're own minds up . Location not great n - Not sure where to start with this 3 hour stay before we moved to a proper resort . I lost money on this booking but someone stole my trainers whilst I was trying to book in and when I complained about the theft and the reported break ins which has occurred the receptionist was indenial . Save you're money and time and book elsewhere
- 867skyep (10/5): I would happily live here - Honestly. The comfiest bed ever. I have a fractured spine that unfortunately is taking its sweet time to heal! But the bed I just want to take back to manchester with me! The apartments are so clean! Really private, your own terrace. Over anll the hotel has Everything you need, and not far from town! (On site super market is short of nothing) enjoy !
- BronwenE25 (2/5): Shockingly Bad - Absolutely shocking. Avoid it like the plague. Minimal choice at the "buffet" and the trays were all uncovered. Scrape your own plates into the rubbish bin. Broken toilet flush. No soap. Furniture that was tired, old and wobbly. Blankets that could have walked to the washing machine on their own. The full skip of rubbish outside the accommodation was the least of our worries!!
- Craig (10/5): - Price was cheap has things do do round Apparment a pubs shops clubs etc if you don’t want to drive to town gym on there market at bottom Tuesdays and Sundays cheap chearful little buggagloes if your on a budget and don’t want beach side properties you pay for what I get all you moaners on here 👍
- Paul (2/5): Disgusting! - Never book again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The bed was very Confortable !! Decent for the price, quiet
- John Nicholas (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Cheap and cheerful we used hotel as a base used pool a couple of times clean and tidy
