If I was just driving bye I probably would not have stopped. I booked online and was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well kept it was.

It was a little confusing at first to find and access our room. We got our key and were under the impression when we booked it was a cabin and it was actually a motel. But management was extremely helpful and offered to switch if we wanted!

The cabin was comfortable, organized and had the necessary essentials. The mattress was great! I had a good night’s rest. The only item not supplied was a bath towel, all the other supplied linens were clean and present as needed.

Robert (10/5): Vermont Cottage Base for a Jay Mountain Ski Trip - I stayed in one of the cozy detached cottages for a Jay ski trip. Very warm room with a nice setting by the river. Very helpful staff who helped arrange a late check-in. The room is bit small, which was fine for a single traveler. I had difficulty heating food with the microwave, but I mentioned that to the staff and they seemed responsive.

schmaling (1/5): Beware !! - Close to a little store and a few restaurants In our motel (NOT CABIN) that they said we were getting, The beds are uncomfortable, they said we would get a stove and oven there wasnt one, so our pre packed/prepared food went to waste because we couldnt cook it, plumbing is showing in the bathroom, there was no staff when we got there and while we were there, they leave a key in a plastic bag outside for you, gas line is out in the open inside the place, bring your own silverware or plastic ware, along with paper plates if you plan on eating something from toaster oven or microwave, the best dont mind waking up to the roaches and fixing your toilet during the night to stop it from running and make sure you bring binoculars to see the tv, road noise is a 8 when it comes to hearing it because were we stayed is right on the road side, the bright orange extension cords to things were a nice touch.There is a few things that were descent there was places to get food at a store down the road and a couple restaurants near by and full size fridge. When we called to confirm and ask questions we got an answering machine and i left a message and never got any answer back, So be prepared to fly blind. We had 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds if you are bringing several people I would ask right off the bat for extra towels and linens or bring yours from home because for what we seen no one is on the property so it may take a long while to get any kind of assistance if they answer your call. My wife and I travel all year long either on our motorcycles and stay a night or 2 or we stay a night, this place would be a 1 star for all the columns if I had to honestly give my own ratings. How do you advertise a stove/oven and not have one or having gas piping out in the open or have orange extension cords running every and plumbing not covered that should speak volumes, but yes if you can deal with seeing a few cock roaches this is the place for you, if it wasnt to late in the game we would of looked for another place.

Great value 😍 I like everything. It’s rustic not luxury. Perfect place to stay when visiting Vermont and dog friendly.
Rachel (7/5): Like upgraded camping, no staff on site - It was ok to stay for one night. There was hot water and it was basic but clean. Rate was reasonable. We were disappointed because we were expecting a cabin on the river as portrayed on the website, instead we got a small motel room looking over the main road. Our communications on the Booking website before arrival went unanswered. When we arrived it was pitch black and raining. There was no staff there neither upon arrival nor the next morning. (They left us a key in a basket by the reception door.) In the room were two narrow twin beds and a noisy heating unit.. No restaurant either on the site or nearby and no one to ask...we might have enjoyed our stay more if we had been in one of the cabins and instructed to bring food with us, and had more comfortable beds.
JN (1/5): Not A Good Experience - The heater was not working when we arrived. The night was going to be in the 30s, and the attendant could not fix it. We had to find a different place to stay and were told we would be refunded for our cabin. A week later, we have not been refunded. I have tried to call the property, but the phone lines are not answered. I have texted and sent messages through Booking.com, but have not had any response. I will need to pursue a refund by complaining directly to booking.com.

Nancy (1/5): BUYER BEWARE - Was the only accommodation for many miles Arrived about 8:30pm. Keys left outside on front porch of office in a wicker basket. Went to our cabin. None of the windows in the cabin were latched. One actually partially open. Latched all the windows. The one window in the bedroom nearest the kitchenette was very difficult to latch and obviously has been in disrepair for some time due to its scratched-up condition. With 2 of us struggling, we got it to lock. Wanted to watch tv. TV message said "No Signal". Texted the motel requesting solution. Did not respond. Set up laptop and we were watching a movie when the first mouse came in under the door. Stomped the floor and it ran under the fridge. When the 2nd mouse came in, we took our stuff and loaded the car and were out of there. Key back to the wicker basket and we went and found another hotel south of Barton. PineCrest is remote and the key situation, and especially the unlocked windows, did not give us a feeling of security, and the mice were more at home there than we were. Perhaps 2 guys on a fishing trip would enjoy this place. The beds looked clean and well-made, the kitchenette had what one needs to prepare a meal, but this is NOT a place for 2 women. I reached out to the property after we left and received a standard, pre-written response and was charged for the stay in full. Buyer beware.

Comfortable bed, clean. 2 chairs on the porch looking out on the woods and stream. Not far from 2 nearby towns with groceries and restaurants. A bit chilly in Oct. but a pool, and a place for a campfire and Adirondack chairs. WiFi was barely adequate.

Richard (2/5): - Our reservation was for air conditioned 2 beds room. Upon check-in, it was a double bed instead with no air con. I went to the reception and notified them about the mix-up showing her my reservation indicating that it wasn't what I reserved. She had one cabin available with those options but wanted us to pay the difference. Not sure why we would have to pay for their mistakes. She offered me another room with 2 beds (but still no aircon). But after checking it out it reek smoke smell despite the room being non-smoking. So we reluctantly went to out original room. The room didn't have a screen in the back windows so cross ventilation was problematic to avoid inviting mosquitos inside. As we got settled, I dropped a little bit of water on the floor. After using a paper towel to wipe it up, I noticed that was literally black from the filth on the floor from whipping just a few square inches at the base of the bed. The next morning, getting ready for breakfast, I turned on the switch of the coffee machine and it literality exploded. During all my interaction with the staff I was polite and composed, but really felt unwelcomed and that I was bothering her.

Rob (9/5): Cute place NICE PEOPLE charming atmosphere - The staff was great! Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. There's a pool and a little waterfall down around the corner where the cabins are. We stayed in one of the motel rooms, but those cabins sure do look cute! We didn't "not like" anything, but if you need top notch lodging you'd best keep looking. The place is homey, and has a charming lived-in feel. It's not the Ritz. It's more like the rustic motel and cabins built in the 40's that your Vermont cousins are making a go of.

Only complaint would be the limited hot water for a shower, as the cabins seem to use a shared hot water tank. Pro tip: shower early in the morning or late at night when nobody else is 😉

Alison (10/5): - This is such a special place. Our cabin is adorable with chairs on a little front porch and all the amenities inside one could want. The bed was super comfortable. We had a fire outside in the fire pit last night. The wood was provided and we enjoyed sitting by the river with a waterfall that flows past the place. This is my kind of glamping at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the cabin stay. This is our second year and it’s better than last as the pool is open this year and has a new liner. Everything is lovely.

The property was so pretty, an outdoor pool, nice firepit area and lots of chairs on the grass near the river.
