Guest Reviews
- Anand (7/5): Enjoyed the stay and food at their restaurant - Location is too good No ac rooms available
- Esther (5/5): -
- Williams (6/5): Generally satisfactory - The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was cheap and chearful. The hotel was just basic
- Arthur (6/5): WWHH rating and review - Great reception from staff. Pleasant in their communication and words, easy going...great meals too❤️❤️🔥 Misinformation on placement location for lodging. Was sent to the annex which is roughly 10-15mins walk from the location shown here. Partner was concerned about safety taking into the account the surrounding (wild/forestry??).
Aside that reception and staff were great. Very kind people too. They made our stay quite comfortable and pleasant
- Kwame (10/5): - Serene Environment N/A
- Mette (10/5): Et skønt sted vi klart kan anbefale - Virkelig smukt sted med gode værelser og dejlig mad
- Jana (8/5): Nice place near Wli waterfall but very basic rooms - Location and shared premises are beautiful I got a room next to the main entrance - it was noisy and lights were shining in the room.
- Martin (1/5): Total disrespect toward the customer and a higher price - Please read below about this absolutely disgusting experience with the owner, who tried to cheat me out of $100. I have nothing against the accommodation itself. The rooms were fine. There is no internet, and the breakfast is extremely basic — I would even say it was practically nonexistent — but that’s not the main issue.
What I consider an absolute disaster is the attitude of the staff. I have never encountered such arrogance. The owner tried to charge me $100 more than the price listed on Booking.com. He was unable to explain why, only claiming that Booking is “stealing from him.” As a guest, that is absolutely not my concern.
It took more than two hours of heated arguing with the owner before I was finally able to pay the originally agreed price. Be very careful with this accommodation — they will try to overcharge you and then blame you or Booking, claiming it’s your fault that the listed price is different from what he wants. Many people probably just pay to avoid the argument, but I had the time to stand my ground. In the end, I paid exactly what I was supposed to, and I see absolutely no reason to pay an extra $100 for nothing.

- Guest (5/5): Owner didn’t honor the Booking.com rate - Pretty from outside. Lack of comfort in the room. Shower was not working and we had to use buckets. Restaurant was not really functioning. Even though we made our reservation through Booking.com, with payment onsite upon arrival, they didn’t accept the Booking.com rate and charged us a higher rate despite our protest.
- Bram (10/5): - Beautiful garden and walking distance from the waterfalls Nothing
- Marina Louise (5/5): - The bed was comfortable. The staff were not very friendly both at check in and during breakfast, they made us feel rushed and a nuisance to them.
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Ella (10/5): Exceptional - I had a lovely stay here as a solo female traveller. I felt really looked after by all the staff and lovely Martha. Thank you for having me! x
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amber (6/5): Would have been better if they would have been honest - It's a basic, clean and quiet place. The rooms they advertise on booking do not exist. As soon as I booked they sent me a message with a higher price. And they advertise rooms with and without bathroom and with twin or double beds, but it seems like the budget options are all shared bathroom twin rooms.
This led to a very uncomfortable situation at check in. And the host was not friendly about it. We ended up choosing the more expensive room, which had an airconditioning in it. He then waited until we settled in the room to tell us that we had to pay extra for that. When we tried to explain that he should have told us that before, he almost started screaming at us.
This was an unpleasant start of our stay here.
- Kwame (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very neat. The environment is serene. The road leading to the hotel is good too.
- Gianluca (8/5): Very good - We had a great stay at Wli Water Heights Hotel. There is a very calm and peaceful atmosphere. The staff is amazing, always super helpful, especially we would like to thank Gabriel, who went out of his way to make sure we bring nice memories from Ghana. Regarding meals, definitely try the mpotopoto and pancakes, delicious
- Robin (1/5): They overcharge! Not recommended - Nothing Be aware: the charge you 20% on top of the booking.com price and try to argue that it’s the exchange rate. Seems to be a scam. Place is dirty, the food not enjoyable and the AC doesn’t really work. Not recommended
- Davide (8/5): Green retreat close to the Wli Waterfalls - The location was great, within walking distance to the waterfalls hike. We liked that there is a restaurant at the location, and we ate breakfast and dinner there. The food was well prepared. The room was as advertised and as shown on the pictures. There was seating outside the rooms in the agrden, which was a noce way to relax after a long drive. It was clean and the staff were friendly. We liked everything about our stay.
- Bar (3/5): Poor -
- Lærke (8/5): Perfect for visiting the Wli Waterfall - Awesome location for the waterfall. Nice big clean rooms. Friendly staff and decent breakfast.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wilberth (8/5): Good - The hotel has a great location, very kind personel, beautiful garden and views from the mountains. The toliet of our room was really uncomfortable, without space for the legs and could be cleanier.
When ordering food in the restaurant take in consideration that the food may take very long, we knew that before so it was not a problem for us.
- Luc (10/5): Exceptional - Wli Water Heights Hotel is one of the best places I have stayed in Ghana. The family run hotel is very welcoming and extremely customer oriented. It is just a 15 min walk to the reception of the entrance to the Wli Waterfalls. I recommend the lower fall and long upper fall tours. The hotel offers a diverse menu including vegetarian and vegan options. The rooms are very clean. The atmosphere is calm, the garden very picturesque. You feel like coming to a small oasis. Prior to our stay, Martha informed us well about how to get to the hotel by Trotro and taxi. In addition, a taxi was arranged for us at a very customer friendly price to get from the hotel to Mount Afadjato passing by the Atomi Monkey sanctuary and dropping us at Kpandu. Every member of staff of the hotel is highly attentive and very friendly. Thanks to Martha, Jonathan, and Cornelius we had a great hiking and outdoor weekend in the Volta Region.
- Andrew (1/5): bad - The superovisor was rude and should not be talkng to guest like he did, we both got food posioning from old food and he was demanding payment for this, we was sick for three days .the manger sorted this out and was helpful but the supervisor was still saying have we payed have we payed, we have stayed here before and we can see the standard has GONE DOWN SO WILLNOT STAY HERE Again.
- Vada (5/5): Passable - The people where friendly and the food was decent. No wifi no tv and bathroom was sketchy 😔
- Marc (7/5): Good - Everything was clean Na
- Eliza (9/5): Awesome accomadation - After the initial confusion of the hitel being on two sites, we had booked two room at different locations all was excelkent
Efficient, special mention to the young women who served us in the restaurant.
They were graat. It is very well locatef to the falls
- Mason (9/5): Comfortable, relaxing - Beautiful location & lovely staff! I think it was really great. Come prepared with cash! ac rooms are extra and be ready to pay. They are extremely nice and accommodating. The negative remarks for this place are clearly made by entitled people. The staff and facilities are great.
- Maxwell (7/5): I hope to experience better treatment next time. - The environment where the property is located. Very natural and greeny. My genius package wasn't considered there and they didn't honor it.
- Owusu (6/5): we had a pleasant stay here - Personally, we had a great time because staff were very communicative and also the food was good. will always be recommended for urban travelers. coordination and staff are very open and nice
- Edwin (9/5): Superb -
- Vignesh (7/5): Good -
- Hannah (4/5): Disappointing -
- Juliet (8/5): Very good -
- Katja (10/5): I recommend it. - It was very calm and the food was so good! The staff is very helpful and friendly! Except the fact that the water was not that warm, everything was ok.
- Baza (8/5): Very good - This is definitely one of the nicer hotels in the area (close to hiking/waterfall). While the hotel isn’t super modern, it is extremely clean and comfortable. The food was also great!
- Monica (9/5): Superb -
- Stefano (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joyce (8/5): Very good -
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (7/5): The rate quoted on booking.com is irrelevant so don’t expect to pay that rate, apart from that the hotel is in a beautif - The property is a charming little place, beautiful garden and views are lovely. My room was clean and fresh, and well maintained.
Compliments to the chef, the food was alway fresh and tasty. The hotel recommends you book your meals well in advance as everything is cooked fresh, which I did and meals were always served in the times given.
When we arrived our group was told that they had upgraded us to room with its own bathroom at the “for no additional charge”- which I think they did as their weren’t a lot of guests and they wanted to keep us all in same property, and we ended up paying than expected anyway. First thing you need to know which isn’t stated in the hotel’s description, is that this hotel is across two properties which is about 3-5 mins drive apart. If you are booking a room with its own bathroom then you will be in the first property. Second (and most important) is that the hotel has its own set rates and exchange rates so the price on booking.com is irrelevant because the hotel will not honour that price.
Eg. I booked my room and the rate was confirmed on Booking.com as $32 USD for my stay, which at the time of booking/checking-in should have come to 365.53 GHS but at the hotel my room had a fixed rate of 200.00 GHS per night so I had to pay 400.00 GHS even though that was not the equivalent of the rate confirmed on booking.com.
- Vivian (1/5): Wouldn't go back. Hated Manger and her minions for staff - Check in experience was awful . Manager was rude. Staff seemed like crooks Bedding seemed dingy and u cleaned
- Andres (7/5): Good -
- Renee (3/5): Poor -
- Frank (7/5): Good -
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Kelvin (9/5): It’s amazing , the weather ,eye opener to life outside the city - Eco friendly nature of the property
- Kofi (7/5): Good -
- Franz (3/5): Scammers!!!! My first negative review after 7 years on booking.com - The place is clean and as presented on the fotos. That is all about the good. After we booked the place we received a direct message with the Ghana Cedi price (320 cedis which equals around 30$ which was also the price for 2 standard rooms with a fan). They did not let us pay at the arrival and wanted us to pay when we checked out, because of other reviews I was already worried about doing that. On the next day it happened what other people were telling us already in the other reviews. The owner wanted to charge us double the price because she said it was a mistake of one of the co-workers who sent us the wrong price, the only thing what we asked in addition was wifi for 2 people (20 cedis) which is not included within the initial price. After a long discussion, the owner run out of arguments and let us leave. However the hike to the beautiful waterfalls started with a stressy morning because of her (the owner).
- Srujan (9/5): Superb -
- Ellie (10/5): Great - Great location and lovely helpful staff Nothing
- Mariam (10/5): Nice and clean - The place is nice and clean, staff is welcoming. Very close to the waterfall entrance.
I went to the wrong location (beware that there are two places in two different parts of the village) and instead of making me walk to the right place, they offered to give me a room and I even got an upgrade.
(useful information : wifi is not included and you'll be charged an extra 20GH₵ for 24 hours)
- Bo (7/5): Good - Nice atmosphere Internet connection, lack of sockets, lack of table and chair in the room
- Sreenivas (8/5): Very good -
- Theresa (4/5): I must say I was slightly disappointed. - The bed was the very comfortable and pillows were amazing. Staff were nice and beautiful garden. Food was also nice but quantity was too small for the price being charged. It will be nice if the price meant to be paid is clearly stated in cedis instead of dollars as when we got there, the amount being paid for our stay was not equivalent to the dollars we had with us and rates had changed. For the amount being charged per night, I expected the room to be nicer than it was. It was stated as a deluxe room but it didn't look like it. Also, the dressing cupboard was moldy and ants were all over my backpack and suitcase in the room. The money paid was only for staying and any other services including WiFi you have to pay as extra. We had to leave early over all as we found staying there expensive.
- Raymond (9/5): A great experience. Keep it up - Quiet environment and friendly supportive staff No TV and fridge in rooms
- Tanya (9/5): Superb -
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (9/5): good value great location great food - great location, helpful staff, big bed, good food, especially the palaver sauce! shower could be upgraded but it was ok. Wasn’t told about the 5.30am morning news from the community tannoy. it was an experience!
- Juanita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terence (9/5): Superb -
- Adisa (8/5): Very good -
- Jade (8/5): Very nice people and a kind village! - very nice people!!!! we had to walk from the place where you can eat and drink to our own accommodation, which was a little les comfortable, but still fine and walkable!
- Atta (8/5): Very good - Staff were very friendly, nice weather and the food was tasty. The view you wake up to is amazing. Lots of activities to perform around if you plan your stay well. Great experience overall
- Victor (5/5): Passable - Please do something about the food proximity to the Annex. It’s uncomfortable having to sleep at one side and eat at another side. And the foods , weren’t all that good.
- Tatsiana (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, a clean room, nice food, good location. I have been there for the second time
- Anna (1/5): Worse than dramatic - Nothing - extremely unpleasant staff,
- completely different price than on booking.com- we booked room for 4 ppl with 2 queen sized beds- there was no such room in the hotel and the price was supposed to be around 21 usd and the staff made us pay 56 usd for a room with one 120 cm bed and one single.
- the staff claimed they have to pay commission to booking.com so i have to pay for that. (The commission is 15% and it was the first time in almost 15 years, the hotel added the commission to the price shown on booking.com, and 56usd is far more than 21usd plus commission...
It was late at night and we were with 2 small children so we had nowhere else to go do we had to accept, but definately booking com should do something with such practices....
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful food. Wonderful and professional staff. Lovely lodge and just a beautiful location. My favorite spot in Ghana.
- Loretta (9/5): Superb -
