- Birte (7/5): Wonderful hotel, but Vung Tau is not a place where I feel comfortable. - Great hotel with a beautiful view. The breakfast left nothing to be desired, the beds were comfortable, and I highly recommend a room with a sea view. The promenade is perfect for a walk, and the view from the pool is excellent. During the week it was pleasantly quiet—likely busier on weekends. During my stay, there was construction work behind and next to the hotel, causing noise from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but it didn’t bother me since I wasn’t on the balcony during that time. The hotel is located right next to a small amusement park for children. It was quite noisy in the evenings—sleeping before 10 p.m. without earplugs is difficult. It didn‘t bother me. At the beginning of April, there was also a strong algae bloom with an unpleasant smell. Although the situation improved and the beach was being cleaned, a beach holiday wasn’t really possible for me, also because I didn't feel safe enough there to stay longer. I cannot recommend Vung Tau to solo (Western) female travelers. As a European, I stood out a lot and felt uncomfortable and unsafe. I was harassed by a man on the beach in front of the hotel and also watched by him on the following days. I was also reprimanded rudely several times on the street and on the beach, and felt uncomfortable in the supermarket because of pushy children. I have never experienced so many negative things in such a short time – neither in Europe, other parts of Asia, Mexico, nor elsewhere in Vietnam. Unfortunately, this overshadowed the entire trip. I will not return, even though I liked the hotel. Many thanks to Louis Duc at the reception for his help!!

- Harald (9/5): War ein sehr schöner Kurzaufenthalt. - Ruhige Lage, megatolles Frühstück, vielseitig und sehr gut, gemütliche Bar, sehr freundliches Personal, Pool am Dach war sehr cool, leider war es sehr windig. In der Nacht durch starken Wind lautes Geräusch. Zu wenig liegen am Strand. Die permanente Beschallung durch Lautsprecher am Strand. Da wurde permanent etwas auf vietnamesisch gesprochen, Ruhe und entspannen kann man sich am Strand nicht (aber dafür kann das Hotel ja nichts).

Mình đi cùng trẻ nhỏ nhưng nhờ hỗ trợ check in sớm thì không được hỗ trợ. Mình ở phòng 903. Lần đầu đến đây nên mình ko rõ là phòng lúc nào cũng có tiếng ồn như tiếng kéo còi hay chỉ bị vào mùa này (những bạn nào khó ngủ/hay bị nhức đầu vì tiếng ồn thì nên cân nhắc). Mình có báo lễ tân thì được thông tin là do gió đập vào cửa kính. Mình nhận phòng từ 3h10 và bị âm thanh này làm phiền đến tận 11h đêm mới hết (do lúc đó gia đình mình đi ngủ nên ko bik âm thanh đó còn hay không). Ngoài ra, trong phòng có trang bị tủ lạnh nhưng ko thấy nước uống/snack (tính phí như những ks khác) gì bên trong. Không có dép đi trong phòng.

- Winnie (8/5): Generally this hotel is good, staffs very friendly, close to center easy to go everywhere. - I like the location of this hotel, is easy to go for sightseeing everywhere in Vung Tau. The breakfast is good, delicious and have many kind of foods. If hotel can put for chair at the seaside, as when the time my group went to the seaside can't find the chair for my group and there are only have a few there all has been using by others hotel guests.

Ensuite tout est facile d'accès avec un taxi. La nourriture du resto est délicieuse. La chambre très bien aménagée et très confortable. La piscine pas très propre. Mais sans conséquences.

The room was large, comfortable, and well equipped with plenty of amenities. The staff were very professional and caring throughout our stay. The pool was nice too. We would definitely come back.

- Friedhelm (8/5): Nice beach location off the city center, very kind and extremely professional staff..... - First amd foremost I should point out that the hotel staff was both very kind and exceptionally professional, so that my sometimes critical comments are not targeting the hotel staff, as they were helpful and informative whenever needed. We almost missed the scheduled shuttle bus, because the license plate of the bus that was waiting at the Saigon Sofitel hotel---instead of "Saigon Zoo" for pickups in smaller busses/vans---was, however, different from the license plate number given to us via whatsapp. The physical ingredients (ie., equipment) of the hotel nearly match the ingredients of other smaller 5-star facilities in HCMC and other parts of Vietnam, except perhaps for the plywood furnishings encountered at the Vias, which are more suitable to face the challlenges of wear & tear, most likely inflicted by a part of the hotel guests, which you would normally not find in the smaller 5-star facilities at HCMC. The typical 5-clientel is housed on the upper floors, and our large room was on the 15th floor with panoramic ocean views from the balcony. Presumably for reasons of economic survival, the hotel is also catering to local tourists from HCMC who come down with their kids through weekend-package offers that are substantially below the room rates paid by the typical 5-star guests. Those local Vietnamese weekend tourists were especially overcrowding the breakfast buffet on the 4th floor, als well as the infinity-edge pool on the 17th floor of the hotel, thus contributing to a hotel experience that is clearly less comfortable. On our transportation-included 45-passenger-shuttle-bus trip from HCMC we encountered some of those local residents, some of whom were excessively rude, so that we wished that we had arranged for our private transport. I certainly wish that those local residents also enjoy their vacation, but they should do that in their own social settings, as the social mismatch clearly made us feel very uncomfortable. For the above-mentioned local and chaotically behaving Vietnamese tourists, the hotel justifiably takes a "damage deposit", refundable when no damages were incurred.... The breakfast buffet was spread out over a large area of the 4th floor---offering indoor- and outdoor-seating for the breakfast buffet guests---and it was certainly VERY DIVERSE, but the quality of the individual food items (especially the coffee) could be better, to justify the 5-star image/claim of the hotel. No critical comments are warranted for the staff, though, from reception, breakfast service, concierge, to house-keeping, as all were pleasantly helpful and efficient. We liked the authentically Vietnamese flair of Vung Tau---which many tourist locations are missing, due to overcrowding with international tourists. The TV channels which could be received by hotel guests surprisingly even included the Russian Propaganda channel "RT"[Russia Today], which is rightfully banned in most civilized countries around the world, because of the deliberate spread of serious misinformation.

Obsługa na recepcji a mianowicie jeden młody chłopak strasznie gburowaty, jakby pracował za karę, nie wywarł pozytywnego wrażenia. Panie zaś bardzo uprzejme. Śniadania niestety wiele potraw zimnych, np warzywa niedogotowane, nie wiem czy to taki standard we Wietnamie ale jak na 5 gwiazdkowy hotel to powinno to lepiej wyglądać, plusem co do śniadań jest to ,że jest całkiem sporo do wyboru.Rozszerzyłbym jeszcze dział Spa bo to ważna sprawa dla turystów, za jakiś czas planuje jeszcze raz odwiedzić ten hotel,może się do tego czasu poprawi:D narazie takie 8 na 10
