Guest Reviews

- Lauren (8/5): - Everything is as described! Perfectly sufficient for a night when visiting Hattusa. It's chilly! Thankfully, there were extra blankets.
- Emilia (7/5): - The staff was really helpful, good location, very clean. Big rooms. Good food in the restaurant and good breakfast. We were travelling with 2 couples, while our room was good the other room did not have warm water and internet.
Also it was rather cold, even with the extra heater.
- Viktor963 (8/5): - Very clean and spacious rooms.
If you’re willing to accept a slightly higher price for accommodation, you’ll be satisfied.
The hotel’s location near Hattusa and Yazılıkaya is very convenient. You can also reach the archaeological site at Alacahöyük within half an hour. Dining at the hotel is good, although about 2–3 times more expensive than in the surrounding area. That’s why we only had our first dinner there upon arrival. The price of beer — 12 USD — also seemed unreasonably high to us.
After we had dinner elsewhere the next evening, the staff seemed to lose interest in us, which was reflected in the quality of the following breakfast. 🙂
- Ann (10/5): Enjoyed our stay at the hotel - Location was great. Staff were friendly. Room had everything we needed including a heater because it snowed
Dinner was lovely and freshly cooked No curtains in the room
- daniel (8/5): Great place to stay - A great place to stay. Unlike what other reviewer have said, our room had a heater and plenty of hot water. It's solar water heating by so it won't work on a cold morning but there's plenty in the afternoon. The food is excellent and the daily in charge are greet to talk to. Hattusa is just up the hill and is worth a while day's exploring. Recommended.

- Graeme Atkinson (1/5): - Asked to pay in cash upfront. No credit card
Bathroom looked dirty. I asked owner later that day if I could make stay one night only. Answer NO
Restaurant closed so dinner (basic) in the office
No one else staying in hotel. First night room too cold
Heading not sufficient. Several electrical blackouts Not ideal when using CPAP machine
Finally in the morning I went to boil the jug. Fortunately I opened the lid. The small amount of water in the jug contained slime or mould. I left early that morning not staying the second night
I have used Booking.com for decades and this is my first bad review Almost everything. See comments above
- Tom (5/5): - Host was amenable and the location is great. Was inexpensive. Rooms were cold in late March. Partly to do with the season, but an electric heater is insufficient and no hot water in the shower. Left it running over 5 minutes, room temp at best. No AC for cooling or heating, but I'd imagine they would provide a fan and the rooms do seem naturally cool. Travelling during a warmer period is more ideal
Setup more for busier seasons I think, but it was inexpensive. We didn't go for the evening meal based of the reviews. Not many other accommodation options for the area..
- Mark (3/5): The goat herder taxi driver ripped me off to get to Mozgat. - No hot water
- Laura (2/5): If you have to stay near Hattusa - I think this is the only choice - This was the only place I could find in the location I wished to stay. Parking provided and property was easy to find. Host was welcoming. Could walk to the local museum. Large restaurant on site. A space heater was provided in the room and I needed it. At breakfast I asked for yogurt and it was provided (not in the normal buffet). I was the last room in the hotel and it probably was the worst room. Most of the hotel was filled with construction workers or some kind of crew. As a solo women traveler this felt a bit uncomfortable. My room was on the main level off the open courtyard area and the door had only a simple lock. I did not feel very secure. The curtains on the window did not quite reach the bottom of the window. The bathroom was the worst. I did not feel comfortable having a shower - the staff informed me it worked but was a bit broken. I discovered that there was a leak from above as when I went in the bathroom the floor was wet and it was dripping from above. Very gross. Buffet breakfast was pretty basic. If you must stay in the area to visit the site of Hattusa there are not really other options, that is the only reason to stay here.
- Hugo (1/5): - Inget varm vatten. Ingen värme på rummet
- Robyn (7/5): This suited us but could have been even better. - Breakfast was basic compared to other Turkish hotels and owner's family was very helpful and welcoming. Room was roomy with lovely wooden floors and effective heating but adequately comfortable. Location was brilliant for Hattusa ruins.
This is definitely a summer weather hotel. Breakfast was inconsistent and cold in cool weather, limited menu, owner was offhand. Payment method which left cost uncertain, even though we booked weeks ahead of our stay.
- Hendrik (7/5): Best place to stay to visit Hattusa, Yazılıkaya and the Boğazköy Museum - The electric heater in the room, because it was very cold in the room when we arrived, October 2025.
- Andrea (10/5): -
- György (9/5): - Csend, nyugalom, kényelmes parkolás, földszinti elhelyezés, barátságos, segítőkész személyzet!
A szállás kiváló helyen van Hattusas megtekintéséhez. A reggeli válaszzéka, mennyisége a Törökországban megszokotthoz (a foglalási árhoz) képest, szerényebb volt.

- MASSIMO (6/5): - Stanza pulita e spaziosa.....

- Plamentolev (9/5): Visiting Hattusa - The staff was very helpful. The food was good. The location is very good if you are planning to visit Hattusa and Alacahoyuk. Also there is nice small museum just 200m away from the hotel. There is beer in the restaurant There is no A/C in the room, but the temperature at night is nice, and we slept with open window.
- Kirill (8/5): Very good - Nice hotel in a great location to explore Hattusa. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Everyone is very nice and helpful, the owner helped us to arrange a reasonably priced taxi to Yozgat. We visited in June, and there were no problems with hot water or temperature in the room. There were no opaque curtains in the room, so anyone walking by to the rooms could see what's inside. The breakfast was so-so (considering the price of stay).
- Harriet (4/5): Disappointing - not a lot room damp, not very clean and, full of mosquitoes although it was cold. breakfast extremely poor. thoroughly overpriced
- Kaye (7/5): A good base hotel to visit Hattusa. - Thanks for the availability so that we can based ourselves here for the hike up Hattusa. The owner was also very kind to pick us up from bus station for we travelled without a car and drove us for a visit to Yazilykale, 3km away.
Dinner is served on site, ample and tasty although on pricey end. A little dated in terms of furnishings, definitely the property had seen better days. Hattusa should be drawing more visitors.
- Sait (5/5): Passable -
- Esposito (9/5): Superb - Warm welcoming and kind staff (this is a family management hotel) My impression was that the prices of the stay (including a light lunch, a buffet dinner - of high quality but poor in quantity due to a constant stream of visitors - a small breakfast and the accommodation room, simply furnished) were a bit higher than expected. On the one hand, It is undoubtedly the best, if not the unique option to those stopping to visit the Hattusa site, so, it goes without saying, that you have to accept the "monopoly" conditions..
- Christopher (9/5): Perfect for visiting Hattusa. - Perfect location and overnight stay for visiting the old Hitite capital, Hattusa. We had dinner and breakfast both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The owner was friendly and the owner's son spoke perfect English. The room was a reasonable size and clean. The bathroom while clean could do with some minor repair (some wall hooks missing).
- kagan (10/5): Memnun kaldım, öneririm - Ben çok memnun kaldım, otelin sahibi ve işleticisi ikinci kuşak turizimci, görmüş geçirmiş insanlar, bu insanlara kibirli bir tarzda yaklaşılmadığında Anadolu misafirperverliğini hemen hissediyor insan.
Şunu söylemek gerekli orası bir belde oteli, kıyı otellerinin lüksünü beklemeyin ama temiz, sessiz, yeşili bol ve her ihtiyacınıza cevap veriyor.
Sonuç olarak bence Hattuşa ya mutlaka gidilmeli görülmeli, dünyanın nadir öneme sahip antik şehirlerinden biri. Gidildiğinde konaklanacak, zaman geçirilecek uydun bir otel Aşıkoğlu.
- Edwards (7/5): Good -
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing - Handy location. Attractive appearance. Easy to park outside. Location, location, exploitation. Energetic manager putting all his energy into the wrong things: extravagant personal welcome, tea, free postcards as we left. But... the WiFi only works in the cafe not the rooms, one of the lights didn't work in our room, dinner was seriously overpriced (nb: chillies are not a "vegetable"). Good service is unobtrusive efficiency; he delivered obtrusive inefficiency. Probably makes most of its profits overcharging coach parties for lunches, with the hotel a bit 2nd priority
- Polytimi (7/5): Good - It is a small quiet hotel with big rooms and a large garden. It is near the archeological site of Hatussas and very near to the museum. We were there in May, the weather was not good and as a result we didn't have hot water at all. It is better to visit the hotel in summer. The prices are a little bit expensive.
- Maria (6/5): Pleasant - Good location nice staff No hot water as the hotel only has solar boiler. The hotel does not have central heating and had electric heaters is rooms but communal areas were freezing cold. The food was very tasty but double the price of the food in Istanbul. Flat rate 600 TL
- debra (6/5): So so - Perhaps because it was early in the season, the place didn't feel like it was prepared for guests. There was NO hot water in the room. The restaurant was freezing.
I also felt like I was being pushed to buy things, like books and tours.
- Mauricio (5/5): Poor services in a costly hotel - No electricity for 2 days - only in our rooms, it seems power bills are very high in this region- ; poor breakfast considering the 60 euro room rate; bathtub no fit for people with mobility problems: it is set on a pedestal; extremely cold temperature at night and no heater ( since there are power failures in the guests” rooms but not at the restaurant 🤔
- Deirdre (9/5): A warm welcome for all - Family run, motel-like hotel, convenient for both Hatusas and the modern village( with museum); very welcoming, easy parking, no language difficulties; very good value for money, dinner and breakfast both being more than adequate . I was made to feel very much at home.
- Judith (7/5): Good - We stayed 3 nights. For 2 of the nights we were the only guests. Spacious room was clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast. We also had evening meals here and they were good too. Beers available. It's a very attractive area and only a short walk to Hattusa archaeological site. Museum is across the road. Room was cold on arrival (Oct) but there was an electric heater. Hot water took a long time to come through.
Credit card machine was not working so we had to pay in cash (our host should have told us this on arrival, not waited until we a checked out). Cash machines in the village only dispense small amounts. Might be a good idea to bring Euros.
- Jennifer (7/5): Lovely family owned motel close to attractions. Best bet for hotel in area - Location’ Cold rooms and difficult to get warm water
- Koen (6/5): Pleasant - Great location. The eldest son was really helpfull. We got two adjacent rooms, as asked. The rooms need refurbishing. Weak WiFi. The restaurant is too expensive for what you get.
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ajit (10/5): Exceptional - The host and his wife looked after us personally Very nice people
- Lazzaro (6/5): Pleasant - Very close to the archeological site, simple and clean, friendly staff!
- Anthony (4/5): Give this hotel a miss when visiting Hattusa - We booked the hotel because it is close to the ancient Hittite ruins. Big mistake - the owner of the hotel overcharged us for a substandard dinner and breakfast and provided no hot water for bathing. Upon arrival we were taken to a gift shop that he owned with overpriced souvenirs. There are many other hotels in the area and if you have a car the town of Corum is very close by.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Room and food are overpriced - Room and food are more expensive than big cities! I booked it wrong with saying one person then upon check in they said two persons is different price! End up they asked for €6 more that's quite lot as a small countryside hotel like this! Forgot to read the reviews, feel like scam! Actually we were the only guests there! 1/2 staffs are arrogant like the old review said! So you better come visit this small town really early and stay in Corum or other instead of this!
- Brian (4/5): Poor value, unreliable, no hot water - I had a confirmed booking for a 35 square metre room with a balcony and all the trimmings. The management, without explanation, would not honour my booking, instead, installing me in their other (lesser) hotel across the road. What I got was a small room with poor facilities. I had to ask for towels and the guest soap had been used. The worst feature however, was that there was no hot water. When I complained I was told “no sun”. When I asked them to boost it they said “expensive”. On day two I asked for and was given a bucket of hot water to wash in. Dinner was plentiful but expensive, lukewarm, and unappealing. Breakfast was typically Turkish, but the bread was stale. The wifi didn’t work in the room, but did work in the dining room. I wouldn’t stay there again and I certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone.
The one good thing they did for me was to organise a cheap taxi (TL60) back to Sungurlu.
