• Kathryn (10/5): Relaxed perfection - The relaxed atmosphere, peaceful street and walking distance to the most incredible history of Athens has been such a lovely way to start our month-long travels. We chose a corner suite which, no matter how many times you look out from your balcony, the view never ceases to amaze. The staff have been helpful when required, nothing is too much trouble, included breakfasts have been excellent, the coffee is great, the room is clean and spacious. Dinner on the rooftop was also outstanding. After three days, I simply don’t want to leave.

• Eva (9/5): Fantasztikus helyen lévő kis gyöngyszem - A hotel a történelmi Athén legszebb helyén található. Különleges érzés volt itt lakni ebben a környezetben. A személyzet kifogástalan. Az ágy, az ágynemű nagyon kényelmes. Reggelinél a frissen facsart narancslé és a kávék nagyon jól voltak elkeszítve. Legközelebb is ezt a hotelt választanám. Ismerőseimnek, akik turistaként látogatják meg a várost, csak a Hotel Thissiot fogom ajánlani. A reggeli sajnos nem az én ízlésemnek való, nem szeretem a rántottát, omlettet, tükörtojást. Ezek túl hangsúlyosan voltak. A toastok minőségén javítani kellene. Hamarosan ráfér a szállodára egy kis frissítés, hogy ne tűnjön kopottnak.

• Maria (6/5): In Ordnung für kurzen Aufenthalt aber zu Laut und Frühstück schlecht - Die Zimmer waren schön mit dem Akropolisblick und die Ausstattung bequem. Das Frühstück hat uns nicht begeistert, geringe Auswahl, keine Backwaren. Der Frühstücksraum war im März kalt, die Beheizung mit einem Gasbrenner nur pro forma. Nachts ziehen Horden feiernder Touristen und Einheimischer durch die Straße am Hotel, es ist laut. Hinzu kam am Sonntag die Entfernung von Abfällen (Abpumpen von Frittierfett oder Ähnliches) um 7:00 Uhr morgens direkt vor unserem Zimmern stand der nötige Kompressor).
• Adrian (1/5): Great view, terrible experience otherwise. - Good location very close to the Acropolis and Ancient Agora. We were met with smiles and lemonade on check-in, however our experience quickly turned negative. We found in one bathroom a broken toilet seat which almost caused a serious accident for our elderly mother with a knee replacement, a filthy shower curtain which was quickly removed by staff and never replaced. Hotel staff's response to these two issues was to send maintenance staff to repair the bathroom issue at a late hour, with an offer for complimentary dinner and an offer to change the room in question to a lower floor without a balcony view, separated from our own room. Following this ordeal which ruined our evening and night, we were then surprised to find stained linens in the second room, both bed sheets and pillow cases and a stained towel and dirty shower in the second bathroom. We did not shower in these conditions and slept on towels, disgusted with the linens underneath and did not report these additional issues as to deal with the staff again would've meant a sleepless night and would've ruined our only day for touring Athens. Everything described here was communicated to the hotel management team after our vacation, with a request for a partial compensation for the serious inconveniences caused by their maintenance and cleaning staff. We were met with polite denials at first, which turned into legal threats when we brought up the fact we would post pictures of what we found in their hotel on check-in. Needless to say, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel, the conditions and aggravation dealing with its management is not worth your time and money. Plenty of other options in the area which we now regret overlooking.

Good water pressure in the shower and comfortable beds. The safe in our bedroom wasn’t attached to the wall so it didn’t seem very secure and we didn’t use it.

From the moment we arrived early on Sunday March 29, 2026 Kyriakos was an execeptitonal Manager. He secured our bags and then we went to visit the acropolis. Super close. When we came back - Bags in room and the view was exaclty as shown on the Web. Perfect centarl location next to the Acoropils. The walk around balcony was beautiful. We stayed one night but wished we stayed more - we had to connect with a cruise. The staff such as Eleni and Elia and of course Giogos were so professional and super accomodating. The exceptional service of Hotel Thissio employees will defintely make us cone back in the future. Finally the breakfast which was included was awesome. A big shout out to the entire staff!!!!! Kyriakos was lazer focused on making sure the guests were happy and he achieved that by his actions. If we could give him a 15 out of 10 we would. Thank you Kyriakos!!!!! Everything was perfect

I had a wonderful time and can’t recommend this property enough. Made my bucket list vacation perfect and I mean perfect. 10/10 no notes. ❤️ Not a problem for me personally but it would be a little bit hard for people with a wheelchair to navigate.

• Mari (10/5): Wonderful location and the most friendly staff. - The location is perfect, right in front of the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora. So many other historical sites and beautiful parks also in walking distance. There is a train station just 5 min walk from the hotel, numerous great restaurants, and the location isn’t too busy. The room was spacious, comfy bed, wonderful balcony and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We truly felt welcome and taken care of.

• Nicole (8/5): - Die Lage am Fuße der Akropolis ist schon der Hammer. Ausserdem ist der Stadtteil Thissio nahe an anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie dem Akropolis Museum oder der Antiken Agora. Die Umgebung ist zudem mit zahlreichen Restaurants, Cafés und vielen Straßenhändlern sehr belebt. Sowohl zur Metrostation Thissio, als auch zur Haltestelle Monastiraki kommt man schnell zu Fuß. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist a la Carte und hat uns persönlich sehr gut gefallen und geschmeckt. Auf dem Zimmer ist ausserdem ein Wasserkocher, Tee und Instant-Kaffee, so dass man zwischendurch mal im Zimmer relaxen und sich was zu trinken machen kann. Schöner Balkon mit Tisch und zwei Stühlen und direktem Blick auf die Akropolis. Schöne Rooftop Bar/Restaurant. Sehr freundliches Personal. Mit Englisch sind wir gut klar gekommen. Wir waren über den Jahreswechsel 4 Tage in Athen und das Hotel war noch ganz gemütlich weihnachtlich dekoriert. Nichts, wo ich nicht in den Krümeln suchen müsste. Was wir nicht so auf dem Schirm hatten ist, dass es im Winter in Athen auch mal empfindlich kühl werden kann (5, 6 Grad Celsius). Das Zimmer hatte aber eine Klimaanlage, mit der man das Zimmer auch aufwärmen konnte. Allerdings darf man keine Heizung wie in Deutschland erwarten. Das Leben findet sowieso überwiegend draußen statt. Am besten ne extra Weste oder einen dicken Pulli, Mütze und Halstuch mitnehmen. Hat aber nicht direkt etwas mit dem Hotel zu tun. Ist allgemein einfach so.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent views of the Acropolis from the balcony. The rooms were spacious and our family was given connected room making it a comfortable stay for all. The room’s heat was faulty throughout the travel, leaving the room unbearably hot in the night to sleep. We had to crack the window to get some cool air in - which meant the weekend sounds came with as well :) The hot water also takes a long time to come in and lasts only enough for one person’s shower. 2nd person showering got cold water showers in winter!

• Tomáš (8/5): Hotel bych doporučil! - Lokalita, skvělý výhled na akropole, milý personál, vybavení pokoje (mala lednice i malinky mrazacek) Snídaně-vejce byly skvělé, ale napriklad jogurt s ovocem, kde byl v malé misce jogurt a pár kousků ovoce a cekalo se na nej 25 minut, tak to nebylo uplne moc dobré. Stálo by to za vylepšení a trochu víc srovnat jídla, aby byly nutričně vyvážené. Smrděl odpad z koupelny občas.
• Joseph (10/5): Wonderful Stay - So much to like about this place. The location couldn't be better. It is a close walk to everything and just far enough away from the noisey downtown area. The view of the acropolis from this place was amazing! I got to spend every morning sipping coffee and every evening relaxing on my balcony just taking in the beautiful view of the acropolis. The staff were all sp wonderful and accommodating. Even surprised me with a custom made birthday cake and candle waiting for me at my room when I only briefly mentioned I was there for my birthday trip to one person. If I come back to Athens, I will only stay at this hotel. What a wonderful experience.

Pretty much everything is dated and wasn't upgraded in the last years. The bathroom layout was really weird. The weight balance wasn't working. Although i am sure that the staff is doing a great job with cleaning, everything feels a bit unpleasant.
• Chris D (10/5): Great location and charming staff - The location is exceptional.. stepping out of the door and seeing the Acropolis is something quite special. It’s an easy walk to the main archaeological sites, and the neighbourhood has plenty of cafés and restaurants. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and check-in was straightforward. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout my stay. Loved the large Rafael Acamedy painting at breakfast. Free breakfasts will fill you up as large portions No complaints

The location is close to the Acropolis, balcony had view a stunning direct view of the site. Lit at night and watched the sun rise behind it in the morning. It was surreal.

What really sets this place apart is the unbeatable location—steps away from major sights like the Acropolis and lively neighborhoods full of cafes and shops. For the price, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal in the heart of Athens. The room was on the smaller side, but clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. While the bed wasn’t the most comfortable, it was manageable.

Although it’s rated as a 3-star hotel, the experience easily exceeded expectations. The staff at reception were exceptionally kind, attentive, and supportive — their warmth made me feel genuinely welcome and cared for. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and perfectly maintained, offering everything needed for a relaxing stay. The view of the Acropolis, the peaceful atmosphere, and the central location made it a perfect base to explore Athens. Excellent value, lovely service, and that rare feeling of being at home away from home. Highly recommended.

• Pierre (10/5): - Situation idéale pour la visite de l'Acropole (6-7 minutes à pieds) et d'un arrêt principal des bus hop-on/hop-off (4-5 minutes). Vue incroyable sur l'Acropole. Nombreux restos à proximité. 10-15 minutes de Plaka et Symtagma. Très bon petit déjeuner. Repas du soir sur la terrasse sur le toit avec vue sur l'Acropole éclairée - wow! Et Terry, le gérant (ou le proprio?) : une perle! Accueillant, sympathique, serviable. Je n'écris pas souvent de critiques, mais celui-ci vaut vraiment la peine.
