Guest Reviews
- Read (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Their hospitality and their dogs, lovely breakfasts, made to feel at home. Nothing
- Keith (10/5): Had a lovely one night stay, wished we could have stayed longer, Judi and Alan are great hosts, - Continental was plenty,,Location very good Nothing
- Roger (2/5): A dissapointing end to an already stressful day. - We had been led to understand that the accomodation had a separate entrance and, indeed, the photos suggested exactly that.
On arrival we were invited to join a drinking party with several other elderly people and eventually were shown to our accomodation which turned out be only accessed through several rooms and up a narrow staircase. This trurned oit to be quite a small room with a bathroom off. When I asked where we might put the crate for the 2 dogs that travel with us, the owner seemed surpised and said she wasn't aware of us bringing any. This although it had been specifically discussed and agreed at the point of booking.
We were more than a little surprised ourselves at the way the accomodation was to be accessed and the impression that we were expected to join a house party rather tha the self contained area we had envisaged. We had just travelled 300 miles and still hadn't eaten so we advised the owner that would go and eat but having found food in Horncastle we both agreed that this was unacceptable and I immediatelly cancelled the 2nd night on the undersatnding that we remained liable for the first and we set out to find alternative space for the Sunday night.
We really regretted the position but felt we had been completely misled on this occasion and were left with no other solution. No comment
- Robert (7/5): Excellent hosts, great location, fantastic breakfast, but a very firm mattress - The hosts were really nice, made us feel very welcome and even provided a little snack as we arrived late and nowhere nearby served food. The dogs are all very cuddly and couldn't get enough fuss! The house is very close to Cadwell Park circuit and couldn't be more convenient. Unfortunately the mattress was far too firm for us, we struggled to sleep. A real shame as the stay was otherwise faultless!
- alex (7/5): Very dog friendly and hosts very welcoming and helpful. - Dog friendly.
Fabulous takeaway breakfast.
Great room
- chris (10/5): - Lovely homemade breakfast
- Janette (10/5): Excellent hosts, great breakfasts, a restful break. - Breakfasts were exceptional and hosts keen to prepare whatever we wanted. Only village facility was a pub. It had a small menu but excellent food and good value. Everything else needed to drive for, though town was only 5 miles away.
- edwin (10/5): -
- Martin (8/5): Old style B&B in quiet country location close to Cadwell Park - Ideally located to access an event I was attending at Cadwell Park. Less than 10 minute drive. Very quiet location. Hosts go out of their way to make your stay great and nothing was too much trouble for them. Lovely people! The owner has 2 dogs which were lovely and super friendly but the smell of dog is rather strong when you walk in. Soon go nose blind to it though
- Adrian (10/5): Highly recommended. - Excellent breakfast. Very comfortable room. Hosts couldn't have been more welcoming.
- Kristin (7/5): - A nice BnB with really friendly hosts. If you don’t like dogs then this is not for you. There are 2 very enthusiastic rescue dogs here.
- Jane (10/5): A comfortable nights stay. - This little gem was lovely for our one night stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.
- Mark (8/5): Lovely little retreat hidden away close to attractions. - Judi went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We were greeted with a cup of coffee and chatted for ages. The place was very quiet which was fantastic for us and it was a very hearty breakfast. This is one of the best places we have stayed and would definitely stay again if in the area with a comfortable room included. Very friendly dogs as well gave a homely atmosphere. Nothing. Only the concert we attended. Dogs woke at 6am but we were awake anyway.
- Dave (8/5): -
- Rochelle (9/5): Lovely couple, great breakfast - Cute cottage great location and a fantastic garden Nothing
- Peter (9/5): Good location, accomodation, hosts and value for money. - A quiet cul-de-sac location in an attractive village, adjacent to fields for walks with the dog and an easy walk to the pub..!
Off-street parking, cosy, comfortable room and a fine continental breakfast to start the day prepared by friendly, affable hosts. Nothing..!
- Mave (9/5): A wonderful experience. - Lovely property with glorious hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. Difficult to locate as the gate with the property name was open. I stopped in the lane and asked someone cleaning their car!
- David (9/5): A wonderful interpersonal experience - Exceptional hosting. Generous, trusting and open. Delightful. Rather cluttered room (just personal preference)
- Pat (8/5): We were made very welcome. - Continental breakfast is very good, and there is plenty to choose from.
Home-made jam, and fruit compote was lovely.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (9/5): Not so much a BnB, more like a home from home. -
- Lesley (10/5): A quiet & peaceful place, lovely helpful hosts, my dogs were welcomed & not made to feel like an imposition, &am - Lovely friendly hosts, really felt like a home from home! They made my dogs & I feel so welcome, & nothing was too much trouble. Beautifully fitted out room, in my own little suite. A tranquil haven with great dog walking area right on the doorstep. Met all my needs perfectly!
- Madeline (10/5): Exceptional - Judy and Alan (and their two friendly dogs) were delightful and welcoming. They made us feel very much at home. They gave us a tour of their superb garden, with its beautiful scented roses. The village is in a lovely part of Lincolnshire. The room was light, quiet and comfortable and breakfast was perfect.

- Tietze (9/5): Superb - Quietness and family anosphere
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional - We spent three nights with Judi and Alan; the first night they became our friends, the second night they became good friends, by the third night we felt like family. My wife and I have stayed in many B&B's, and have always had good experiences, but Judi & Alan were, and still are, special to us. The bedroom and bathroom are very clean and well maintained. Judi & Alan provided us with several good recommendations for places to visit in the area. Oh, and thanks for the birthday cake! Not a thing!
- Tonyhill5 (10/5): A lovely place to stay and to rest after a long drive. - My wife and I (and our dog) just stayed one night en route from Hastings to Yorkshire. Our hosts made our short stay a positively memorable experience. Their two lovely rescue dogs (setters) were a bonus for us and for our own dog.
Breakfast couldn’t have been better. This accommodation is nothing like a “Premier Inn”, instead it is a comfortable, cosy cottage that has charm and character run by hospitable and warm hearted hosts.
My wife tells me that I made a very good choice in booking Mountain Ash and I would agree. The wifi signal was adequate but not as strong as I would like.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Tony (9/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable. - Judi and Allan were excellent hosts they were a pleasure to spend time with. Food was amazing especially Judie's home made bread. Facilities were brilliant. Everything was fantastic.
- Paula (8/5): Home from home - Breakfast was lovely a little bit of everything continental All was fine no worries
- Elaine (1/5): Not great at all - It was close to Caldwell park but when arriving there was two dogs The dogs and the price it’s not worth £72.00 from watching four in a bed there was dust everywhere and cobwebs, we won’t be going back
- Stephanie (10/5): Excellant stay at the
Mountain Ash Guest house - I don't think you could get better host, we were made so welcome it felt like we had known them for years,The room was lovely and we slept like a log Breakfast was excellent in fact if we could rate it higher we would. We will definitely be staying again and would like to say Thankyou to them for making our stay Special .... Nothing at all
- Phillip (10/5): An excellent stay, especially for dog lovers. - Dog friendly. Peaceful countryside accommodation. Breakfast was outstanding and very filling, especially the homemade jams & bread. Judy & Alan are a wonderful couple who make you feel welcome in their own home & will happily talk dogs all day 🐕🦺🙂 The local pub doesn't serve food on a Wednesday, which happened to be the day I stayed 😯🤣 But that's not really a complaint, just an fyi 👍
Beer was good though, and the locals are friendly. 🙂
