Guest Reviews
- Susanne (8/5): Great place to stay for our purposes. - Host was great answered questions promptly, good info about local facilities in folder, welcome bottle of wine. Lovely house to stay in.
- PHILIP (10/5): An excellent property in a great location and an excellent helpful host. - The property was spotlessly clean, and had most of what we would require for a short or long stay, The location was excellent with two local shops across the road and a supermarket and garage a few minutes drive away. Only the mattress and pillows which were a bit hard for me, but that is purely personal taste which would be different for everyone. I still slept quite well.
- anne (10/5): Perfect location, clean and comfortable - Location to the zoo and great garden area NA
- Ellie (8/5): Lovely house and back garden, comfortable and informative but too strict about noise. - Chris text all the necessary info needed to access the property. All info and contact details are to hand in a folder inside the property. Property was stunning, clean and spacious. Location was good, really comfy beds and a good shower. Bottle of prosecco was much appreciated also. Constant communication from host regarding the residential area to be mindful of noise even before we'd arrived. Noise notices inside and outside the property. This was basically in your face, received a text from the host at 10.18pm Friday night saying neighbours complaining of alot of activity on driveway, this was purely receiving food deliveries, all before 11pm and no loud talking, music just walking across a stoney driveway. Must be extremely fussy neighbours to warrant contacting a host about that. Much too strict on noise, this dampened our moods and we all felt frustrated and not appreciated as understanding and considerate guests.
- Marie (8/5): My family had a lovely stay, the property was clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed - Spacious and clean and very close to local amenities

- Debra (10/5): Perfect house in a great location for visiting Chester - Property had everything you could need for your stay and the location was perfect for where we had planned to visit, with plenty of local shops near by and on a main bus route. Chris the owner was very attentive and made sure everything was ok throughout our stay.

- Andy Bebbington (8/5): We would aim to use this property again if we return to Chester. - Nice place. Good location. A bit cold on the first evening/night but the landlord turned up the heating by remote control once we made him aware of this problem. Excellent location with a pub serving food and an Indian restaurant within walking distance - both excellent. Also, a chip shop but we didn't try that so can't comment. Also shops nearby. The zoo is just over a mile away and there are busses into the city centre. Heating as mentioned above but this was sorted out once the landlord was made aware.
Everything else was fine.

The facilities were excellent and a good range of glasses, cookware and crockery provided. There was even an.air fryer! We wanted for nothing.
Chris the owner maintained excellent communication throughout, ensuring that our stay was as pleasant as possible.
A true "home from home". If we are staying in Chester again, we will be back! Nothing really, it was all very good. If I had to pick one thing, the freezer sections in the fridge need defrosting, but I really am clutching at straws here!!

- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Very easy access, very clean and loved the safety with stairs gates, night lights. Beds could have been more comfortable was my only grumble.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - great location - 3 mins drive to the zoo. Good communication from Chris the host. Very clean and a great indian over the road 3 mins walk away. what's not to like! Great welcome bottle and tea and coffee supplied. shop also over the road to buy anything we had forgotten we arrived in the dark and couldn't find it at first as we were assuming it was at the top of the road - it was number 1. it is just a little further down the road than we expected but no big deal we found it fairly swiftly once we had got out! if we had arrived in the daytime it would have been fine first time. This is not an issue but trying to find something that wasn't 100% perfect so this is the only thing!

It was easy to find and close enough to get into Chester on Christmas Eve. The residential street was in a quiet location. The host Chris was very attentive and checked in each day to make sure everything was to our liking. The lovely bottle of prosecco was a nice touch and the kitchen was superbly stocked. The house was lovely, warm and had a real family feel plus the decorations made it very Christmassy and just what we wanted. Such a nice touch. Thank you. For older adults, the sofas proved a little difficult to get up from as you sank down.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Rowan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, comfortable and clean cottage. Itās decorated beautifully and itās very warm and cosy but loads of space. The Christmas decorations are a lovely touch. Easy to find, welcoming and lots of space to park. Chris came back to me immediately when I messaged with questions and was very helpful. The beds & sofas are so comfortable and it was so nice to have blankets to snuggle under. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
Itās a good location with a Spa & takeaways near by. Chester city centre is a 15 minute drive. Nothing - we loved it all!
- Robert (5/5): House needs work! - The location for a visit to the zoo. The damp in most rooms
The lack of working TV aerial
No smart TVās
No welcome basket, not even a pint of milk.
- Jess (10/5): AMAZING - How homely it felt and how nice chris was he checked in to see how we were getting on and I had a question and he answers straight away. Very clean and the bed is so comfy. Also asked if could decorate and did just that my son loved it Some stuff is well use and needs replacing which is understandable as itās a love place an well used. And living room seems small I would have had living room in front room more space

- Verity (10/5): Brilliant stay in a fab location!! - Very clean, very well equipped. Really close to the zoo, a short drive from the city centre & to Cheshire oaks outlet. The only (small) thing is that the signal to the tvās was a bit hit and miss. Didnāt affect the quality of the trip otherwise.
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place, close to where we were working. Had all the amenities we needed. Lovely and warm on arrival. Chris the owner was great and gave me clear instructions on everything. Would recommend. Close to the zoo, although (unfortunately) we weren't there for that.

The cottage itself is so lovely. It is clean and well maintained with lots of amenities. It had everything there that we needed to enjoy our stay. It is very much a home from home.
We will definitely stay at Zoo Cottage when we return to Chester! Everything was great! No complaints.
- David (10/5): Great location, very comfortable and cosy stay. - It was nice and cosy. All rooms had comfortable beds and had good facilities. The signal of the WiFi and the lack of smart tvs to watch Netflixs etc.
- England (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed for two nights at the lovely Zoo Cottage. Property is well presented and in a target location with easy access to Chester Zoo, Chester itself and other attractions such as Cheshire Oaks.
No issues with property, very clean and well stocked with usual kitchen amenities. Felt very much at home rather than just being in someone's home!
Chris the owner was very accommodating, taking the time to check on each evening to make sure all was OK. Bottle of Prosecco left us for was also a nice touch :)
Lots of amenities in close proximity, Inc. A Tesco Express and Spar. Highly reccomend taking time out to try the Indian Brasserie across the road- abundant menu and lovely staff. Nothing related to the property, only suggestion would be for a review of the welcome pack suggestions- we had booked in for the Wheatsheaf pub on the Sunday night but weren't aware that they stopped serving food early on a Sunday night for the quiz. However this did not impact our stay.
- Vikram (9/5): Perfect home and location - Very well presented home with a fantastic size garden to relax in the summer. Perfect location for our trip to Chester Zoo. Nothing of any concern other than no dishwasher, but again, it's not a serious issue.
- Samantha (10/5): We will 1000% return! - The house has everything you could need! They have thought of everything, I particularly liked the automatic lights in the bathroom and landing. The location is incredible, 10 mins from Chester centre and 9 mins from the zoo! The owner is great with contact! There's nothing I didn't like, my only feedback would be that the back bedroom could do with darker curtains to help keep out the light / heat. But they have a fan which really helped... and I would never complaining about the sun!
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Great location, lovely house. Bus stop 5 mins walk to Chester city centre. Lovely chinese takeaway just around f the corner. Would recommend.
- Lesley (10/5): Zoo Cottage, perfect stay for location to Zoo - Lovely modern and comfortable house. I enjoyed having my morning coffee in the garden in the sunshine before heading out for a day in beautiful Chester.
- Paul (8/5): Location Location Location - This property is all about the location it's brilliant, 10 minutes drive to Chester town centre or to cheshire oaks, 2 minutes to Chester zoo and 10 minutes walk to a nice friendly pub with good food .great base to go exploring from. Would definitely consider using again if staying in and around cheshire. Host is super easy to get hold of and answers any questions very quickly. Nothing really.
- Teresa (8/5): Quiet and great base for zoo. - Loved the property. Ideal for visiting the zoo. And various attractions in the near by area. The house was peaceful and very well kept. Great kitchen to cook and lovely dining room to eat in. Being told to be quiet before I got there and it being reiterated in the documents left in the house. I get that some guests in the past may have been an issue but not all of us are inconsiderate. We were looking for a quiet place to use as a base while we visited attractions. The next door neighbours were loud. We are quiet anyway. Just tone that down a touch and would be perfect. In closing I would stay again the house and the garden was lovely. Just didnāt like the tone of quiet.
- Vanessa (9/5): Relaxed stay - A very relaxed atmosphere, great location excellent service from Chris. Nothing
- Emma (9/5): Superb - Location was fab and the cottage is very well equipped

- Mark (10/5): Fantastic Stay - Family of Four - Easy access to Chester and all the attractions - We had a fantastic stay at Zoo Cottage. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 Children and the accommodation was perfect for our needs. We wanted to be close enough to get into the Centre and far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. We also had to pick my son up from Chester main station and this was just a few minutes drive away. Chirs is a pleasant host who was very attentive. Nothing to report here! Everything we needed was supplied in the property. There was even added touches, such as low level lighting in the bathrooms and on the landing which was great in the evening.
- Mr (10/5): Short stay wonderful. - Everything was good!
Next time we'll stay longer. Great location with good links to surrounding attractions. Nothing to add!
- Moira (10/5): Excellent host who checked in regularly that everything was ok. Bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch - Beautiful property and perfect for our needs
