We paid for Breakfast but they did not start serving until 08.30 which we believe is unreasonably late even for a Sunday. We had to leave before then so had to buy breakfast elsewhere

- Newburyman (7/5): - All the staff were excellent and we had a very good evening meal and breakfast. There was plenty of off-street parking. However, the room was very small and the bed and pillows were hard. We consequently didn't sleep very well.

- Paul (10/5): - Nice clean room excellent food very friendly and helpful staff

Breakfast was good and freshly cooked. Usually, we would like breakfast earlier than 8.30 am but it worked with what we were doing in the day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere in the bar.
Bedroom and bathroom decorated nicely.
Plenty of parking available. Bedroom carpet had not been vacuumed and the mirrors were smeary.
- Lora (9/5): - Immaculately clean, modern comfortable rooms attached to a lovely inn serving traditional food and good beer
- Neil (10/5): Excellent stay - Amazing food!
- Barbara (7/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): Excellent - Clean and very friendly and attentive staff. Food excellent couldn’t fault anything Nothing
- Randall (7/5): OK for one night! - Comfortable bed, lots of hot water in the shower. Plenty of off street parking. Basic breakfast - the Full English was particularly good - and we really appreciated you going out of your way to get soya milk for us. The breakfast staff were friendly. The location was good for our ongoing journey and we had a lovely evening walk around the village/town which felt very safe. We just happened to be at the church opposite the Angel when the churchwarden was there to wind the clock and he gave us a tour! It was very hot in the room - air conditioning or at least a fan is needed. We opened the window but the road noise kept us awake. The choice of cereal was rather basic - muesli or granola would have been nice, and some fruit too.
- Woods (5/5): Passable - Lots of traffic noise
- Kearon (8/5): One night stay - Clean we’ll run close to wedding venue. Good breakfast. Great outside area No air con , road noise if window open
- Peter (10/5): What can I say AMAZING FRIENDLY PLACE - We stayed over as we were attending a wedding in the local area. This property is amazing in every way I would love to go back near Christmas time as I can image it would be wonderful. The staff are very friendly the food was the best and our room was the best with a really lovely bathroom too.
- Paula (10/5): Lovely experience with friendly helpful staff - We really enjoyed our stay at the Angel Inn. We had a lovely evening meal and an amazing breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable and staff could not have been friendlier. I've stayed in a few pubs around this price mark and the experience has been hit and miss so I wasn't expecting too much for the money, given that breakfast was included. We had to leave early in the morning to get to Cancer Research UK's Race for Life at Clumber Park so had considered skipping breakfast but the manager insisted on coming in early Sunday morning to cook for us. I said a bit of cereal or toast would be fine but he had one full English and one salmon and eggs waiting for us at the exact time promised. Very grateful and no doubt we'll be back. THANK YOU.
- Michael (10/5): - Food excellent
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (10/5): - Really great stay - I arrived late, but service was very prompt despite this. Room was lovely and shower (pressure and temperature and enclosure) was absolutely brilliant. Breakfast in the morning (full English) set me up for the day and the staff were very friendly and chatty. A great stay, a lovely place, I will be back.
- Anna (8/5): Lovely stay - Lovely cooked breakfast
Comfy beds
Ideal location for a nearby wedding
- Roger (10/5): A1 Hotel with space and coaching inn style - The location was perfect for the nearby wedding that we were attending at Hodsock Priory. Also, they know their market, an unusual early 12.00 check-in, allowed us the time for drinks showers and changing with no rush. The room was pleasant enough just a bit small and dark but perfect for one night.
- Barugh (10/5): Good location, excellent value for money - Excellent location. Breakfast was amazing
- Paul (10/5): Comfortable - We were very happy with our room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. We stayed and had food in the evening and that was also very nice. We will definitely return.
- Joy (9/5): Superb -
- Penelope (10/5): Excellent staff comfortable stay good food and delicious breakfast. Thank you. -
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely staff, amazing food and very comfortable bed
- Marion (10/5): - Staff very professional. Helpful and friendly. Good food, accommodation spotless, the whole place has a very welvoming atmosphere
- Hans (8/5): Very good -
- Russell (8/5): Brilliant value - The staff made us feel very welcome. We would have no trouble recommending The Angel to anyone who wants good value in a convenient location.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional stay - The hotel was lovely and the staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble, even left plates in the room for us to have a takeaway at the end of the night. Mattress was a bit hard but apart from that the stay was perfect.
- Simon (7/5): Good - Great hotel, only issue was the bed was very hard
- Carter (10/5): Exceptional - Location - just off A1.
- Trevor (9/5): Lovely pub, with great food. Nice clean rooms just sort the radiator out. - Pub was very welcoming and the food fantastic which is much better than any dreary chain hotel. Room was far too hot due to the radiator being on full blast with no facility to lower temperature or turn off. I had to open the window to let cold air in, which wasn’t ideal due to traffic noise.
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Perfect - So lovely bed extremely comfortable, had omelette for breakfast it was really tasty and hot.
Would stay again.
Just one criticism, they don't have sweeteners.
- Katharine (9/5): Very enjoyable - Breakfast very good!Excellent locationNo bathmat in our No bathmat in our room.
No towels in my cousins room. They had to borrow 2 of ours
Everything else 🙂fine.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Comfortable well appointed place to stay - Breakfast ok for hot food but limited cereals & no fresh fruit Our room was very comfortable and spacious but there wasn’t a mirror for making use of hairdryer. There was only a mirror in the bathroom.
- Jean (10/5): A Wonderful stay in a lovely comfy spacial room for our requirements. - Staff lovely & breakfast was substantial & lovely!! Nothing!!
- Christine (8/5): - Lovely old pub near to shops.
Room and bathroom were clean though bed somewhat hard for our liking.
Good breakfast choices
- Cathy (10/5): Very satisfied - A beautiful large pub with many amenities and troublefree access after hours. Clean, smart and functional in every way.Large carpark and exceptionally lovely staff. Nothing
- Ricky (10/5): - Working in Worksop for the week. ideal location. Nice rooms, great shower. Food great and all staff very friendly and helpful. will stay again if working near by.
- Lyall (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (7/5): Rooms are lovely, road noise was an issue and service was lacking - Rooms were spacious and recently refurbished We went down from breakfast, no staff to be found and when we attracted the attention of the chef, we were informed he wasn’t expecting us. To be fair he quickly eat up a table and prepared us a breakfast, but it wasn’t the service we expected
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (4/5): Extremely disappointing! Poor value - The location close to the wedding venue The room was adequate
The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom was not clean.
We arranged to have breakfast at 8am with staff the night before, only to appear on the morning to no staff around, no chef on site. The cleaner who was lovely made us a cup of tea whilst we waited for staff to arrive on site.
The breakfast was greasy, unappetising, and slap dash. This basically a pub and not a place to stay, relax and enjoy
- Marjorie (10/5): Great stay and hospitality - Great rooms, clean and comfortable Nothing everything was great.
- Henry (10/5): A brilliant start to a lovely weekend - Ford we excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and had an evening meal on our arrival.
- Thomas (7/5): Great place to stop over on a long journey. - Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good breakfast.
- Mervyn (8/5): - Very nice hotel, great breakfast.
- Jonathan (8/5): - This is a fine old coaching inn serving excellent food and having a very good range of beers. The room are recently refurbished in a modern style and though not large are perfectly adequate. The staff in every area were welcoming and very efficient. Before arriving we had a memo reminding that the pub would be shut between 3 and 5 but two numbers given to ring as staff would be about to let us in. Unfortunately there was no reply on either number so best to be sure and avoid checking in at that time.
- shaun (8/5): - Staff were good and Graham was particularly helpful
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb -
- Warren (10/5): 10/10 from start to finish -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location just off the A1.
Lovely recently refurbished rooms. Nothing
- Ann (8/5): - Angel hotel was nice and clean and well maintained
- Sonia (7/5): Good -
- kim (10/5): Brilliant great location - Great place, very clean from our room right through the whole Inn. Found the staff brilliant, friendly and helpful. Large enclosed carpark and bear garden to the rear of the Inn, will return enjoyed our stay.
- Miguel (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff
- Lee (8/5): Make sure you book taxis in advance - lovely pub in a quiet village rooms dated and bedding not the cleanest
- Brown (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (8/5): Was exactly what we expected, I booked the Angel Inn from the reviews and they were correct - The breakfast staff was not expecting us (?) so a table wasn’t prepared however the chef quickly prepared a table and the breakfast was enjoyable and very fresh.
Great location and plenty of parking was a bonus No one seemed to be around if you had a question…
- Kay (8/5): - Lovely family run pub, very friendly and with a nice garden area. Clean rooms with everything you need, but a little cramped.
- Helen (10/5): - We had 1 night stay in the family room which was great. Very clean, interconnecting room with shared bathroom. Would recommend.
- Carol (8/5): Very good -
- Sue (9/5): Superb -
- Kay (8/5): - Warm and friendly
- Kim (6/5): - On checking into the room and realised how dusty everywhere was. Shelving. Skirtings. Tea tray was full of dust. Ornaments on shelf.. teacups dusty. Kettle not emptied. No bag in bin.
Room was very dark as 2 walls were painted Black & 2 lime green. Double glazing would even open. Lovely ensuite. With a dusty floor and a bad step high on entrance.
Lots of dirt berween original window with sash cord broken and secondry window.
Just needs cleaning.
Breakfast of poor quality and not much choice of starters. No fruit juice etc on display.
Bacon burnt bad and toast not cooked it was still white i thought it was bread
Poor quality sausage. Such a shame because the food the previous evening was superb.
- Paul (8/5): Next Time.. - Everything was very good for my stay at the Angel, I was traveling with work & this was very handy for location to my customer for the nights stay, the staff were friendly & the foods was lovely.. Overall a very comfortable stay.. At 0615 when I had to be up for work there was no hot water, so I had to fore go a shower this morning & breakfast didn't start till 07.30 which was too late for my schedule..
- Christopher (8/5): Good, easy to get to ,and a half way stop for us - Breakfast was ok but not as good as we expected Scrambled eggs were poor, toast cold ,bacon overcooked.

- Andy (10/5): Outstanding hotel/pub, highly recommended - Excellent hotel in Blyth, this was a perfect stopover hotel for our long journey North. Hotel itself very clean, tidy and bathroom looked like new. Comfortable bed. Hotel is part of a lovely pub, run by great owner and fantastic staff. Ate in the pub in the evening and cannot praise the staff enough for their attentive and helpful service. Food was great and large choice of drinks available.
Highly recommend this hotel/pub and will be a definite stop off again even if for just something to eat.
Well done owner and staff at the Angel Inn, keep up the great standard
