The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was absolutely excellent — freshly prepared with plenty of choice and great quality ingredients. The location was also perfect, peaceful and convenient for exploring the local area. Thank you again for such a lovely experience. We would definitely stay here again!

The room we were in wasn’t great, view was of a wall and very tired and dated in general with a grubby carpet. Metal framed bed that creaked with the slightest movement. Tv was the size of a laptop screen. Bathroom was behind a bifold wood door which offered very little to no privacy, we thought it was a cupboard at first. Shower was good, but was missing half the base finish. No offer of a towel change or fresh mugs to the room.

- vmll (10/5): Perfect spot to stay. - I recently stayed at Greystoke Guest House and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the little touches, like tea and coffee facilities and thoughtful décor, which made the space feel warm and inviting. The bathroom is on a different floor but there is a bathrobe provided. Breakfast was a real highlight. There was a good variety of options, all freshly prepared and delicious. It set me up perfectly for the day ahead. The location is excellent—convenient for town, while still being peaceful and quiet. Overall, I would highly recommend Greystoke Guest House to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well-run place to stay. I would definitely return in the future

Great breakfast check in is easy and a digital key no not worried about where the key is. The owner and family are super friendly and give great advise if asked on walks etc. Definitely will be back sometime.
- Anne (1/5): Room 5 bathroom 3 floors away - I feel that I was missold room 5 at Greystoke House. It was misrepresented on the Booking.com website. I booked a room with private bathroom. When I arrived the bathroom was 3 flights of stairs down from my room, 28 steps, not even on the same floor. I would never have booked the room if I had known this, but nowhere on the Booking.com description does it say this. I am 70 years old, need the loo several times every night and there is nothing private about walking in pyjamas through communal areas. The bathroom had a sign on saying for room 5 only, but it could be accessed by anyone, so not private. The room was lovely, the owner very smiley and helpful, the breakfast delicious, but it was the lack of honesty on the part of Booking.com that let my visit to Keswick down. I would like Booking.com to respond to this message. See above

- Maria (10/5): Great value for money, wonderful owners, will be back! - I think the biggest thing I loved about my stay was the inclusivity, I am (reluctantly) gluten and lactose free, but this was accommodated with no hesitation or issue by the owners. I loved that oat milk sachets were included as standard in the room and I didn't have to ask (i can get embarrassed having to ask). The room was a little chilly for me on the first night, but a quick chat with the owner and he remedied it for me straight away. The bed was super comfy as well, which is always a huge bonus after long hiking days. I stayed in the single room, so my bathroom was separate to the room, but a lovely cosy dressing gown was provided. The location was a big big tick in the box as well. I didn't have to move my car all weekend and still was able to explore the town and complete some amazing hikes. All in all, a lovely stay and would 100% be back! Finding a parking space on the first night was tricky but that's documented in the advertisement so I was already aware. Once parked up, there were no issues.

Like the fact that little things were thought of that mean a lot to a guest, like oat milk not just regular milk, throws and extra blankets, conditioner as well as shampoo. Our room was very spacious, the room was big enough that it had the beds at one end which created a large space that was a lounge area with a sofa which we loved. Great that the property had a drying room too. There was nothing we didn’t like about this property.

- G5875GBstephenl (10/5): Yet another fantastic stay at Greystoke House - We decided to go to Keswick for new year and arrived at Greystoke House on new year's eve for a 3 night stay, We had already done the online check in, which allowed us to go to our room for 2pm as a self check-in. This is a great idea and so easy to do. We stayed in room 4 and it was ample for us and our dog. The hot powerful shower is one of the best we've encountered in Keswick The rooms are spotless with everything you could want with a great selection of tea and coffee etc. Once unpacked we ordered our breakfast (what a selection!) online too and again this is soooo easy. What we like about Greystoke House is the fact you can literally come and go as you please and the hearty Cumbrian breakfast is to die for and set us up for the day. It is perfectly situated just a couple of minutes from Keswick market square. This is our 2nd stay at Greystoke and certainly won't be our last, as we would thoroughly recommend it! Jon at front of house and Emma the chef do make a lovely team and we can't wait to return to our favourite place Keswick, and to Greystoke house. Thanks again for a wonderful place to base ourselves.

Check-in and out was straight forward rooms clean with comfy beds and well stocked with tea coffee This is well placed for easy walking to Keswick town centre and to get out for a days walking in the hills if preferred Will definitely be returning and would recommend greystoke house
- I1877QLcaroles (10/5): Very close to the centre. - Greystoke was great! The room was exactly what we needed for the weekend. It's very close to the centre too. Lots of people walking to town so I felt pretty safe. There is even a convenience store close by. However, get a parking space and keep it. Very busy with parking on the roads.
- Christopher (10/5): Overall, a lovely stay with a fantastic location, excellent breakfast and friendly hosts. Would book again, highly recom - The location was absolutely fantastic, just a short walk from the town centre, with easy access to some lovely walking routes right on the doorstep. The cooked breakfast was excellent and included local produce, which was a nice touch; we especially enjoyed the Winter Tarn butter. Above all, the hosts were friendly and welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The room was on the slightly smaller side, but it was perfectly adequate for our needs and came with a convenient en-suite bathroom. There was a minor mix-up at checkout regarding the payment for our dog’s stay, which had been included in the original booking. Unfortunately, this detail hadn’t reached the owners, so it wasn’t their fault at all but it did create a slightly awkward moment when I had to pull up the confirmation on my phone to clarify. A small thing overall, and easily resolved.

Breakfasts are one of the best we have had! Rooms are clean and beds are very comfy. Would 100% recommend a stay at Greystoke House.

Great hosts as you would expect from a fellow Yorkshireman! Catered for our 4 dogs. Good size room for the dogs. Excellent facilities. Room was superb. Breakfast excellent choice and very tasty. Everything catered for even a drying room for wet coats etc. will definitely recommend and will be staying in the future.

- Beth (9/5): Great location and amazing hosts! - The hosts were absolutely amazing. The communication with us prior to and during our stay really helped, and as we were leaving we had a lovely conversation where he checked how our stay was and how we had enjoyed our time away. The location is great for being in and around Keswick and there is breakfast available to pre-book too. On a busy weekend (events etc) parking was very tight and we had to drive around a bit to find a space which was a few blocks away- but still free! The sink in the bathroom is a little small with hand wash directly behind meaning you can bang your head quite easily when washing your face. The key fobs take a little while to get used to but the code can easily be inputted.

There is a drying room available for guests, which we made good use of after a long day walking in heavy showers! Breakfasts can be taken at either 8am or 9am depending on your preference. The range, quality & quantity of the food available was unbelievable! A wide selection of cereals, pastries, fresh fruit & yogurts are available. The cooked breakfast was delicious, all locally sourced produce cooked to perfection by the lovely Emma. Overall Greystoke House is everything that you could wish for when staying in Keswick. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality B & B accommodation in the area. We booked directly through their own website and received the best value deal. From the excellent location - a 5 minute walk to town - to the best home cooked breakfast, a fabulous big bedroom, amazing shower with great pressure and just the best hosts. Jon was very present at breakfast and full of tips for our walking and eating choices We will definitely be back - thank you to Jon and Emma
- Matthew (10/5): Highly recommend this guesthouse for the comfy rooms, lovely hosts, and banging breakfasts! - Great location in Keswick close to lots of pubs and restaurants and within easy reach of the boat launch for getting around Derwentwater. Comfortable rooms and fantastic breakfast cooked by lovely hosts! Some noise from TVs and shower pumps in adjacent rooms (to be expected from an old property), but the showers are nice and powerful and the noise never lasted too long.
