- Eric (10/5): - Personnel, très gentil, piscine agréable Le restaurant, un petit peu cher petit déjeuner trop Indien
- Choudhary (10/5): - good
- Daniel (9/5): Beautiful stay by the river - Staff is so nice, the hotel is beautiful, we could check out later and the staff helped to arrange a driver. Rooms are spacious with lovely views over the river. I think the food portions/taste could be improved with some dishes. Some dishes were very good.
- Sushant (7/5): - Best riverside location with green lawns Architecture of the building though tried to be made historical lacks charm
Excellent restaurant ! Rien
- Sarah (10/5): -
- singh (9/5): I will definitely recommend the riverside is amazing - good hotel will recommend to everyone. friendly staff and generally all food and beverage is great quality.
- Geetika (7/5): It was a beautiful location with rich history. Unfortunately the rooms were superficially clean. Also, the doona felt mo - The location and the heritage. The rooms weren’t clean to a hotel standard
- Corrado (5/5): - Stanza grande e molto pulita.
- thomas (10/5): Le luxe - Le luxe l'environnement
- mauro (6/5): Non molto bene….
- Ransom (6/5): The staff was good overall, we enjoyed the food and location. They had some activities for kids too. - Location along the river is nice. The room cleanliness could have been better. Toiletries were not provided other than soap. Our hot water kettle had not been cleaned. It had old milk coffee from the previous guests in it. When we told them, they asked why it was a problem and didn’t understand it needed to be throughly cleaned or replaced.
- SHARON (4/5): - First off, this hotel looks nothing like the online pictures. It was very old and dated and the surrounding area did not look appealing. Secondly, the check-in was super chaotic with the clerk not accepting the stamped Indian visa in our passports. Not sure what he expected from us, it was supplied by the Indian border. He was also under the impression that the room was for 1 person only while all our hotels were booked for 2. He was demanding that I should contact the travel agency for him. The room was very dated and not all that clean either and it lacked most amenities. And finally there were 3 ring ceremonies on the locations, so it wasn’t quiet at all, at 6 am they were still blowing whistles!! The only reason they got 2 stars was that the food was excellent.
Also, there is a one box tip policy but the staff obviously does not agree with it at all, so they are constantly haranguing you for more.
Lastly, this hotel is not worth the amount of money charged in advance ($180 CAD), a quarter of that is too much!
- lee (9/5): Excellent Heritage stay in a great location. The room was quite warm as the Aircon struggled - Great location and lovey staff. Perfect as a heritage stay. The Aircon in the room wasn't quite up to the job, it did work but just wasn't capable of getting the room properly cool.
- Bhavya (6/5): Property is very good. Staff is a bunch of idiots and food is average. - The property is very good. Situated next to a river you can sit and relax near it during daytime. The staff of the property are unprofessional and rude. Food is average
- Roberto (8/5): - Posizione, camera, verde e fiume.
- Srivastava (9/5): -
- Khati4gr (8/5): Enjoyable - Location and courteous staff Limited breakfast buffet variety .
- Graham (10/5): Perfect - Location by the river was stunning. Peaceful and clean. We had our morning cuppas sat on the river bank. We walked into the town to see the temples. The light and sound show at the Fort was good, they do this in English. We arrived very early morning, we were allowed to check in early for a small fee which was most helpful. We ate in the restaurant on an evening, the food was superb also had cold coffees and icecream on our balcony each afternoon which were delicious. The swimming pool could have looked cleaner, hence didn't go in.
- Komal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ravi (7/5): Good -
- Sameer (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): - The hotel, though relatively new, casts itself as an old hunting lodge quite convincingly.
In fact the land belonged to the Maharaja of Orchha, developed by his great grandson, and includes some small aged temples
in and around the property
A river view room is a must.
It makes you feel really out in the wilderness with green parrots, an occasional peacock, water birds, meandering water buffaloes and many monkeys (watch your purse at poolside) as your neighbors.
The restaurant is quite good and the only game around but Orchha is a short tuck tuck ride away.
Perfect if you want to relax and get away for awhile.
- Heidi (7/5): A relaxing stay in a charming old world hunting lodge - This was originally a hunting palace and it retains all its former charm from manicured gardens to bakelite electrical fittings. It felt like we were transported to a bygone era. We had a river view room which was stunning. The room was large and very comfortable. We were really disappointed with the pool. The water was cloudy and we don't think the pool pump or filter system was working. The water in the overflow channels smelt really bad and was stagnant. The restaurant served a nice evening meal but many of the breakfast items had been reheated and were not very fresh.
- Tuhin (8/5): Very good -
- Kiran (2/5): Uncomfortable stay! - Good location. Very noisy due to cars blaring their horns until upto 1 am.
Dangerous looking wiring. Immersion heater failed to heat the water. Bathroom is a century old!
- Vinaypratap (5/5): I have made the payment in advance but the person on the reception was denying my payment and insist - The location of the resort is wonderful. Food quality is good and food is tasty. Behaviour of staff especially on reception counter is not upto the mark. Man on reception was rude and uncultured . One sales manager was also very rude and unprofessional.
- Harsh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anand (8/5): Very good -
- Ashish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aprajita (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the resort property, the humble staff, the lovely homely tasty food. Moreover the breathtaking view of Betwa river on the backside ❤️
- Amarendra (9/5): Superb -
- Per (6/5): Pleasant - Like the area/surroundings. Nice if you like the "heritage" style Overpriced in general.
- Alekhya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Navin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanshika (1/5): I will not recommend this property to any one as it was not at all worth it. Found insects on my room and washroom. - Riverside was very good and the only plus for this property Pathetic experience. Will not visit again as it was very untidy and found insects inside my room.
- Neeraj (10/5): Pleasant stay ...in a year once visit must. - Foods are very good & staff person very nice behavior. Its excellent experience. Keep it up...
- Shailender (9/5): Relaxing short vacation at Bundelkhand riverside - We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. We had a great experience. Location of the property is exactly as described, by the river. You can walk up to the river to enjoy amazing sunrise.
We ordered plenty of food items from the menu including vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes which we found to our liking. Staff was courteous and available on call.
We saw some reviews about issues with cleanliness of the property. However our rooms were spic and span including the washrooms. So no complaints there.
- Trilok (9/5): Superb - Its situated in between natural greenery & riverside. we really enjoyed a lot.
- Rohan (1/5): Bad -
- Brijesh (7/5): Good -
- Sanjyot (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms were not clean. Had to call the room service to get it re cleaned
- Debashis (4/5): Disappointing -
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional - The most beautiful hotel. The dining room was spectacular. Feels like you have stepped back 100 years although it isn't that old. While we were there they were re-tiling the pool, so we couldn't swim.... but there wasn't time. Really a gem.
- Pierre (9/5): Superb -
- Anuj (8/5): All in all very good - Riverside, ambience, quiet Low upkeep
- Adrien (1/5): Very Bad expérience :-( - It's a shame: I booked online and what was my disappointment when I arrived. The swimming pool is under maintenance (that's why I came here!), there is work going on all day long which makes the stay unlivable. Furthermore, the team is not pleasant (bad welcome and not a smile...). Very bad experience despite the beauty of the place. Finally, it takes a 10-minute walk to leave the property... And then no tuk-tuk passes on the road so to go to the city center it's really a bad choice!
- Sharmila (4/5): just satisfactory - location by the riverside poor lighting in the room
very poor connectivity
- Pradip (8/5): Very good - It is a very property location wise.
However it should have a golf cart for elderly people Bedsheets n towels
- Deepak (2/5): - Unfriendly staff, unclean and torn bed linen, poor bathroom. Good kitchen and view of river.
- Chitranshu (8/5): Very good -
- Kunal (9/5): Majestic place with heavenly food. - calm and serene environment. Royal place with majestic river view. I will say it defenitly one of best hotels i have visited. Food is yummy and very delicious. na.
- Anshuman (8/5): Very good - Property is too good but timing of food is 10pm last
- Parul (5/5): Not value for money - Property was really good but was not well maintained staff was not welcoming Staff, hospitality
- Sunil (8/5): Very good -
- Saumya (10/5): A perfect stay to explore Orchha and relax by the river! Great for small events too with their private garden overlookin - The property has a regal feel to it. It’s located on the river banks of Betwa and every morning you wake up to the sound of gushing water! Nothing
- Gupta (9/5): Very nice stay -
- Shweta (8/5): Very good -
(7/5): Good - . .
- Sneha (6/5): Pleasant - The location was absolutely beautiful and so was the property! The staff were really kind and nice! There were insects; also I woke up with red rashes only to realise much later that there were bed bugs (some of which I ended up carrying with me!!!)
- Anand (4/5): Disappointing -
- Shashank (8/5): Very good -
- Pawan (10/5): Exceptional - Great 👍🏻
- Somesh (8/5): Very good -
- Markus (9/5): Beautiful location and a comfortable stay -
- Pearly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prabhat (10/5): Exceptional - Very good experience...Nice property with excellent ambience ...staff is also very good..
Food is very delicious NA
- Pearly (8/5): Very good -
- Ed (6/5): Nice heritage style hotel with dissapointing kitchen - The hotel has very spacious and nice rooms with a good bed and is close to Orchha. We had a nice view on the river The swimming pool was quite dirty and the food in the restaurant was pretty bad. We had biryani veg and with chicken which were not very tasty and far too much koriander. The murgh tikka was the worst we had in India.
- Prasenjit (8/5): very good experience - Exceptional location Pool was bit untidy
- Palod (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sylvie (10/5): Unique ancient property directly on the riverside - The hotel is an authentic old building very well maintained, it's unique
The location is great, you can walk by the riverside and see many birds
Excellent staff, musicians every evening
Nice swimming pool in the garden The breakfast was indian style and had not many alternatives for non indian
We were there Mid-april, at the end of the season, so not everything was available (swimming pool not always available, no buffet)
- Bansal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brijmohan (5/5): Basic facilities must - Maintenance and cleanliness staff not good
Room facilities not good Site
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Idyllic location on the Betwa River - It was a great place close to Orchha on our road trip between Shivpuri and Khajuraho.
The peaceful location overlooking the river and wildlife were absolutely idyllic.
The room had a strong heritage theme and could be best described as shabby chic. Good aircon and good night's sleep.
The shared tip pot seemed very fair on the staff. The room lacked a fridge.
The bathroom was basic but adequate.
I regret having the rice for breakfast as, with hindsight, it may have been reheated.
The credit card machine would not let me pay in rupees, so I ended up paying in cash to avoid a 5% conversion charge.
- Petit-hoang (9/5): Very nice place to relax - Very pleasant and calm hotel by the river. Room and bed are confortable. Beautiful garden and swimming pool. Restaurant is good. Staff is nice and helpful. But they did not let us sleep in the morning because were noisy juste in front of our hotel door.
- Mohit (10/5): Exceptional - Great property and amazing location of the hotel. Very friendly staff A bit crowded but good.
- Gabriele (8/5): Very good -
- Arun (10/5): Orcha's Jewel - The resort is majestic and at a perfect location , banks of river betwa ,the architecture and decorations of the resort made a very lasting impression on my mind .
The dining hall , reception , pool area, and the verandahs are a visual treat.
Special thanks to Maharaj ji who took great pains for 10 years to make this monumental resort. Drinking water dispensers should be installed in the cottage wing side .
the bathroom entry within the cottage should have one step laid for comfort.
- Nitasha (5/5): Passable - The location is probably the only thing this resort has going for it. The staff is polite and helpful, and the food is good. The property is shabby and not maintained at all. The staff is shabbily dressed and look unkempt .The grounds are a mess with litter all over. Cleanliness is certainly not a priority at this resort.
- Martina (10/5): Great! - Incredible location! A bit old style but super fascinating.
- Rajan (9/5): Superb -
- Sameer (8/5): Overall a good and enjoyable stay. - The property is located in a royal residence.
The property is the mainstay of this hotel.
The rooms are good ...pls take the river view rooms.......overall good ambience. Shortage of staff due to diwali.
A la carte orders really took a lot of time .
- Namitverma (7/5): Mixed bag vis-a-vis both, this property and Orchha town. - Old style luxury with a big bed and spacious rooms and bathrooms. Big high Bed was very comfortable. Lovely ambience and clean air: we actually went there to flee the pollution of Delhi. Serious food quality issues at this property can be sorted out by stepping into Orchha town which has numerous eating places of all categories, a few of them quite good, but mostly vegetarian in this temple town, this description having overtaken the small feudal kingdom character of Orchha town through recent history and even more so in recent times. While the big high Bed was very comfortable, the same cannot be said for the extremely low bedside chairs and the equally low cane sofas.
Food was terrible. Both guests and waiter had trouble identifying the Ajwaini Fish to be that, the waiter having declared it to be chicken and we unable to comprehend the manner of meat or its style given the total absence of any Ajwaini in this dish. Readymade coffee ordered from the kitchen was a disaster; but the room does have decent coffee making facilities and Nescafe Classic sachets which the housekeeping staff is happy to replenish.
Over all, a mixed bag: both vis-a-vis this property and Orchha town. Missed the old voice-over Sound and Light Show at the neighbouring palace; the survival demands of the present-day India demanding new renditions of an already opportunistic and convenient history: so Raja Ram of Orchha's Ram Rajya Temple is now endorsed to have come straight from Ayodhya instead of Haridwar as mentioned in the old narrative, best to avoid mentioning even more startling edits.
The elan with which the old voice-over had romanticised the historical narration of Hardaul and his commitment to Bundelkhand's young women has now taken a backseat, yielding to pressing political correctness of recent times, unconvincing and jaded; or maybe, I've just gotten older compared to my earlier trips to this once delightful town.
- Pritesh (1/5): Bad -
- Amit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timmer-rosch (7/5): Beautiful property but sanitary needs more attention - Staff is friendly and caring, the property is very good and has an easy access to the river for long and beautiful walks. Washroom was not clean or well maintained - leaking shower.
Bedsheets, towels had strains.
- Kuushh (1/5): Disgusting and Scammed - Big room. The property is a scam. While booking on the website, they promise you balconies, etc. Upon checking in, the property gives you the worst room possible and upon demanding the room you booked for, they ask for extra money. There's mosquitoes everywhere and nothing is clean. The room doesn't warrant more than Rs. 1000 per night, let alone Rs. 4.5k. Absolute scammers.
- Vinod (1/5): Bad -
- Christian (8/5): Very good - setting on the river food and drink offer limited
