760lucyp (2/5): Don’t book this hotel!!! - My husband is recovering from cancer surgery and we had booked this hotel for a special few days we had been so looking forward to seeing Sicily and paid in full. Devastatingly five days before we were due to arrive at the hotel I suffered a back injury I got straight in touch with the hotel sadly wasting a day emailing with a member of staff who eventually after at least 10 emails told me to email Monica I asked if they could possibility change our reservation by a couple of days that would mean I had a week to recover I checked and the hotel had availability on their website and booking.com but sadly I received an email so rude from Monica that I cried I couldn’t believe that someone showed no compassion, understanding or kindness it was even mentioned that it was Financially based and it was my fault and even incredibly that she had tried to help this is not true!!! I have been travelling for 40 years and have never experienced such lack of empathy! Monica won! the hotel has our money 1000€ plus we lost our flights and other accommodation because of a the appalling decision of this person, in total we lost 2500€ and can’t afford another trip this year! I just want to add that kindness and understanding is part of what makes a hotel a good place where you make happy memories! This hotel isn’t for that! Please don’t make the same mistake because they will not help you!!!

Mondello however is definitely NOT our favourite place in Sicily. It was busy and to be honest felt unsafe at times. Car parking is great also and the staff at the hotel are wonderful.

Roman (9/5): - Eigentlich hat uns alles gefallen, war nur mit einer Nacht ziemlich kurz, so dass wir es leider nicht in vollen Zügen genießen konnten. Aber sehr schönes Hotel, Preis ist ordentlich, aber angebracht, wenn man es im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels in Italien setzt. Hat uns eigentlich alles ganz gut gefallen.

Jinder (9/5): Great little gem in Mondello for a couple on holiday! - Great location, private (free) parking and amazing staff. The breakfast selection was good, with additional dishes upon request. We had the room overlooking the pool, great view of the sea. Nothing. The radio in our room didn’t work very well but other than that totally satisfied.

The room on the ground floor did not feel private—the balcony opened out right above the street, but they did what they could to build brush around so nobody could see in. The pool was beautiful, and the views were spectacular.

The pool is stunning. There's a hot tub on the rooftop patio with gorgeous views of the sea from both the roof and the pool area. The service to the pool and hot tub was superior. Our afternoon cocktails came with delicious treats. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We hope to return one day. We loved it.

Dreamer04529821657 (10/5): Fantastic stay at an Amazing hotel - We had the most wonderful time at the Hotel Unico d’Arte in Mondello Sicily . From the moment we arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful . Monica greeted us on arrival and ensured along with the rest of the staff that our stay was fabulous. Our room had its own large terrace and private jacuzzi which was amazing. The pool area is quiet and relaxing and drinks and snacks are available all day long . Breakfast at the hotel was great and the choice of food and hot food was significant. The cappuccino was made to order and not out of a machine. The roof top terrace is open for use all day and evening and there is a jacuzzi up there for use whenever you wanted. The views of Mondello Bay from the rooftop were fantastic and a great place to enjoy the sunsets. The hotel is right on the beach and a short walk from the square where there are many restaurants to choose from. We loved our time here and will definitely return again.
Susan (10/5): - We have travelled to many places around the world and the Hotel Unico d’art is right up there with the very best. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Monica who along with the rest of the staff could not have been more warm and friendly and helpful to us. Our room with a large terrace and private large jacuzzi was fantastic. The pool area overlooked the sea and provided a very quiet and tranquil atmosphere to enjoy. There are ample sunbeds although we often had the whole pool to ourselves. The staff were always available to serve drinks and snacks during the day or evening. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice and a menu to select hot food if desired. The rooftop terrace provided a lovely area to relax and enjoy the wonderful views of Mondello Bay. The hotel is an easy walk into Mondello square where there are numerous restaurants to choose from . The hotel is right on the coast and a short walk to the beaches. We had the best holiday here and will definitely be back again soon.

The friendliest staff that went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. the breakfast/ cappucinos in the morning were delicious! super close to the sqaure, the beaches, and a gazillion restuarants. we cant wait to come back!!!!

Mercedes garcia (9/5): - La amabilidad de los que llevaban el hotel, la tranquilidad de la piscina, buena ubicación, a pocos pasos del centro. El hotel era muy bonito con la piscina viendo el mar, y la mayoría de las habitaciones también. No puedo decir que no me gustó pero debo decir que aunque solo tiene 2 alturas no hay ascensor. Para nosotros todavía no es un problema, pero para una pareja de cierta edad si lo sería, sobre todo para subir y bajar las maletas. Dan unas cuantas comidas frías, pero en mi caso, si tuvieran un pequeño restaurante, yo no hubiera salido de allí, ya que llegué después de recorrer Sicilia, y solo quería descansar. No obstante lo que plan lo ponen con mucho gusto y los trabajadores son muy atentos.

Highly recommend having a car though to get to the rest of Palermo. I usually don't stay at the same place twice, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

They assisted us in finding massages to the room, Vespa rental, having my wife’s hair done in the room, and restaurant recommendations. Would highly recommend for anyone booking in Palermo or Mondello Bay.

We had to leave before breakfast hours to go to the airport, the staff had a breakfast waiting for us before hours, so nice of them, very accommodating!!! Pool and rooftop bar were an extra bonus, gorgeous and had stunning views! Water was beautiful, but was hard to stay there because there was a private beach club that you were unable to enter, so we choose to stay near the pool at the hotel.
clarec971 (10/5): Fabulous hotel - Wonderful hotel - we were a bit hesitant as we drove through Modello but the hotel is fabulous - yards from the seat our room was really funky. The decor throughout the hotel is super, lots of art and sculpture. The roof top terrace was great for a drink looking over the sea and the yachts arriving. The pool was stunning and delicious breakfast. Secure parking. This is a gem of a hotel.

The location of the hotel in walking distance to the town square including restaurants was ideal. Each morning I would rise early and go for a walk along the sea front, it was ideal.

619richardr (10/5): What A Wonderful Hotel! - Wow - this boutique hotel on the beach is a wonderful find. Clean, modern rooms (with great showers & comfy beds) - and some great sea views. A leisurely breakfast stretching through to 11am served on the sun terrace under large white shades, plenty of comfortable sun beds around a beautiful pool, evening drinks at the roof bar, all made this hotel so special What stood out for us particularly though, was the excellent service - Rosabella, Monica & Megan were fabulous - nothing was too much trouble, from freshly baked cakes all day, to some top restaurant recommendations all within walking distance. Would love to go back!
GARYJ958 (10/5): A wonderful hotel! - A wonderful hotel! A group of us (10 adults) were in Sicily for a friend’s wedding and we chose to stay in this hotel. What an inspired decision that was as we loved every minute of it. The bedrooms were perfectly fitted out (we even had a bathtub in the centre of our room) and the swimming pool and surrounding seating areas were excellent. A particular highlight for us though was the excellent service given to us by all of the staff, including Monica, Rosalba and Megan (Megan also made the superb cakes we had with afternoon tea). They really couldn’t have done more for us - and did so with great professionalism and engaging smiles! Mondello village itself has a number of really good restaurants (it’s worth checking out the reviews on ‘Tripadviser’). Being so close to the sea, the seafood was invariably fresh and delicious - and of course the pasta was to die for! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody who wishes to visit Sicily. Finally, I would fully endorse the ‘tips’ given by other reviewers: - have a cocktail on the terrace to watch the amazing sunset; - catch the local bus (806) into Palmero rather than paying for a taxi/Uber; - ask the hotel to sort out transport for you to and from Palmero airport; and last but not least: - try Megan’s amazing cakes!

Plenty of storage, including good counter space in the bathroom (which I found is very rare at many hotels in Europe). Beautiful garden to have breakfast in. I wish we could have stayed an additional day just to relax a day at the hotel. We had to leave very early in the morning, and the person on call made us to-go boxes with exactly what we had requested. The staff was very nice and very accommodating.

Water is across street with unobstructed views. Beds are very comfortable. Shower and bath have amazing pressure and unlimited hot water. The downside is there is no elevator, the pool is not heated, and the towels need replacing, they are all frayed. Small but significant for the price you are paying per night. The service is 5 stars and staff are always helpful..

ADITYA (10/5): Best place to stay if you’re visiting Palermo - We went for a romantic getaway. We wanted a seaside town with a very relaxing atmosphere and a convenient hotel and a convenient and safe location. This was perfect. The staff was unbelievable the food and the breakfast was awesome. They were very very personable. Excellent private parking. Easy access to the local shops and the city center on the beach. Excellent walking everything was just perfect.

Staff was wonderful, the room clean & comfortable and the breakfast was one of the best we have had on our tour of Italy. We stayed at the beginning of December and loved it, can't imagine how nice it is in the Spring and Summer. Stay here.

Unico is a classy art hotel on the water in The small village of Mondello. Although there is not much to do in Mondello itself you will be swept up in the hospitality of the people. Every meal we had was better than the last ! Thank you Monica - you were an absolute darling .

Adrienne (10/5): - This property is the perfect property for a stay in Mondello! It is so well appointed with lovely amenities. It is a boutique hotel in the true sense. The rooms included robes and beach towels for convenience. Our room had a lovely balcony view over looking the street and a public parking area where people observe the sunset. We were there during the quieter part of summer so noise was not an issue. The walk to the lidos is about 15 min. The hotel offers rental of e-bikes for the day which was convenient for getting around. There is also a private parking lot for no extra cost which is extremely convenient given the scarcity of parking. Room service was excellent and the breakfast with made to order omlette is perfect! The grounds are so peaceful and well manicured and made for a lovely place to relax. Our junior suite was perfect with a beautiful front balcony and rear terrace with jacuzzi! Perfect Romantic getaway!

LesSchtroumpf (10/5): Architecte design jewel with gorgeous views - This boutique hotel with less than ten rooms offers a fantastic combination of design, location and service. We stayed there for almost a week and really enjoyed relaxing at the infinity pool watching the boats passing by on Mondello bay while recovering from our field trips to Palermo and Monreale - both can easily be reached by car or taxi. We also enjoyed our trip to Isolate delle Femmine on the hotel’s own motor boat. Rooms are spacious and well designed.
