- Angela (10/5): Perfect location and authentic place in Ortigia. - Excellent location tucked in behind the plaza duomo! Paola greeting us so warmly and provided excellent tips for dining and activities. Also the place was really unique and fit the location with fun antique details. Also the lovely quiet plant filled terrace was a bonus! Stairs could be a challenge but good railing and lighting.

- Ken (10/5): - We loved everything! Our hosts Paola and Marco were gracious, kind and very helpful. The location couldn't be better, close to everything, with our balcony overlooking a beautiful plaza in the old town, a bakery next door, and an espresso machine in our room that was resupplied each day. Any small item you could possibly need was provided in a basket outside our door. The room itself was an eclectic mix of vintage and modern, highlighting Paola's decorative skills. A truly charming little gem! There was nothing we didn't like.
- Jessica (9/5): - Great location, very cute room. Felt like Paris boho chic with an Italian touch. Nice, carefully curated details that made it cozy and comfortable for a few nights stay in Ortigia. Very convenient to get around and despite the busy piazza just outside, I did not find it too loud. Loved the small balcony and view. Paola was easy to communicate with. Thanks so much for:) Nothing!
- Mairi (8/5): - Very central, great to have an outdoor balcony. Full of vintage treasures

Host disponibile, gentile e attenta. Esperienza davvero positiva.
- Pavlína (10/5): - skvělá lokalita pár kroků od katedrály v srdci historického centra, pohodlně a stylově zařízený pokoj, bezproblémová komunikace s provozovatelkou
- Alice (10/5): - Location pazzesca, stanze belle e pulite.
Herzlichen Dank, liebe Paola!

- Abigail (10/5): - Great place to stay! We loved the location, check in process was so easy, and host was so gracious!
- Varsha (10/5): - A lovely apartment nestled in the heart of Ortigia’s historic district. The thoughtful details and charming decor made it feel like living inside a vintage fairytale. Everything was comfortable and beautifully maintained, creating such a special atmosphere. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back.
- Audrey (10/5): - Brilliant host and a perfect location. Property was full of interesting artefacts Nothing
- Margaret-Anne (9/5): Charming Stay with a Fantastic Location and Helpful Host - The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Ortigia with a lovely view that perfectly captures the charm of the area. The room was small, but the host had kindly notified me of this in advance, so there were no surprises. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the host was helpful and welcoming throughout my stay. A great choice for anyone looking for a cozy and well-located place in Siracusa.
- robert pierre (10/5): - Super bien placé en plein milieu d'ortigia

- Mila (10/5): It was a wonderful stay and the hosts were amazing, and given how nice it was, I'd love to return. - The location was absolutely perfect - it was as central as can be in Ortigia. The rooms were both gorgeous and spacious. I fully recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to visit Ortigia!
- Louise (10/5): Delightful from start to finish! - One of the most romantic places I've ever booked. Paola had taken such care to decorate her apartment - both in and outside the room with delightful touches. It truly was a lovely place to stay and couldn't be in a more central location. I would go back to Siracusa again just to stay there.
Nothing is too much trouble and Paola was so helpful with suggestions, assistance and recommendations. Her restaurant tips were brilliant! Can't think of a thing!
- Jillian (1/5): A nightmare of a stay I tried to stay out as much as possible and busted my cousins apartment in Ortiga which was booked - Location Holes in the floor, old crochet bedspread, clutter in the hallway hard to get your suitcase by the door. A feeling of too much clutter, plaster off the ceiling and window sills, rusty outdoor furniture and mould in the canopy over the outside lounge , mosquitoes a few bites in the evening and at night. I kept my shoes on because I felt the floor wasn’t clean. The stairwell had broken tiles which is a safety concern with your suitcase . The photos didn’t represent the apartment that I had and unfortunately I had to stay for three nights . I would not recommend this apartment and I can’t believe it had the rating by booking .com compared to other apartments with the same vintage .
- Richard (9/5): Whimsical inn located in a great part of town ! - Nice inn in a great location. Friendly and helpful hosts.
- Vedad (10/5): - Such a lovely place. Location is amazing! Doesn’t get more central than this. And Paola was a super nice and kind host. She gave us lots of tips for Ortigia and was very thoughtful. The style of the room is one of the most unique places we’ve stayed. Parking is available upon request for €20 per day at 150 meters from the room. There’s one other room in the same apartment but we barely noticed that. We stayed two nights which was perfect. Definitely a gem!
- Lucy (9/5): A convenient location & a quaint, comfortable room. - Fantastic location, clean, comfortable & quaint decor.
The staff were very friendly & helpful. Great to have a kettle & coffee machine. We had a small room for two people with suitcases but others are not.
- Oscar (9/5): Falling in love with Ortiga - Maria Pia was very friendly, she gave us useful information and even lent us towels to the beach. The location is great, we had a front room with balcony facing a major street. The room was cute and nicely decorated.
- Lori (10/5): Cozy nook overlooking piazza - The location was amazing-overlooking cafes and the part of the piazza that street musicians play. It was magical. While it wasn’t a problem for us, if you aren’t comfortable in a small space, you won’t be happy. The room is very small so with two you have be able to negotiate! We loved it. And the bed was small (double) but very comfy with a sweet comforter that Paola or her mother probably made! For one person, the place is simple and heavenly. Nothing. It was great.
- Sasha (10/5): Beautiful stay with charming decorations and the most wonderful host who goes above and beyond for her guests. Best stay - The property is very centrally located close to everything you would want. The interior is gorgeous and comfortable and feels very authentic.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Friendly, helpful host. Wonderful location.
- David (10/5): Fantastic B&B in the heart of Ortigia. Highly recommended! - Fantastic location and the host was extremely kind! I was unfortunately sick during my trip, but the host was very accommodating and kind, and even purchased medicine and food supplies for me as I was bedridden.
Will hopefully be back and without any illness.
- Lisa O'Hehir (10/5): - Wonderful location and beautiful room
- Sonia (10/5): - De tudo!
- Tatiana (10/5): Beautiful and centrally located hotel in the heart of the town. - We loved how central the location was to all the sights and restaurants. Our host was also so friendly and welcoming. Nothing everything was great!
- Danielle (10/5): Ortygia is a magical place and I don’t think you could find a better place to stay which reflects its magical beauty. - The photos cannot capture how stunning it is.
Not only is it beautiful it’s functional too and everything has been thought of, from morning coffee to beautiful shower gels & water refilled daily. There are only 3 rooms so it feels like you have the place to yourself.
Paola is so friendly and offered great tips in the area. Communication with her was great. There isn’t a single thing. Perfection.
- Robin (10/5): Perfect find and the most lovely way to enjoy Ortigia, host is phenomenal! - The location is perfect, you’re right in the middle of Ortigia island and have all of its sights and activities close by. I loved being able to walk 5 mins and get to the rocky beaches with the locals. The balcony in my room had the most wonderful little sitting area where I enjoyed my morning cup of coffee to the fullest. The facilities all worked and were well maintained, the apartment has a lovely style and decorations and the host is super sweet and helpful. What a gem of an accommodation! I wish there was a curtain i could pull in front of the windows in the door of my room, the glass was foggy and couldn’t be seen through but still i think id personally prefer to make it dark/private like that.
- Giovanna (9/5): Very pleasant - The atmosphere I loved everything
- Tala (10/5): -
- jalal (9/5): -
- Josh (10/5): -
- Hanra (10/5): A beautiful and authentic b&b with personal touches - I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful and peaceful room - overlooking the piazza it was a tranquil and romantic oasis, that was close to everything on the island. Paola is the most incredible host - accommodating us (despite being late) and organising our parking, and giving us incredible restaurant recommendations, and sorting a private boat tour of the island. The room was decorated with beautiful personal touches that felt more like a home, rather than a corporate hotel room, which made our time in Ortigia feel even more special.
- Mark (10/5): This is a unique stay in Ortigia a very individual Bb - Romantic charming & a unique BB
- Michelle (8/5): Perfect for a short stay in beautiful Ortigia. - Fantastic location - right in the heart of Ortigia. Paola was lovely. Very small bed and room.
- Lynne (7/5): Good - The location was Fantastic and we had a lovely view out our balcony window. Our host was lovely and very helpful. I chose a room that was too small for staying in four nights .
- Jennifer (6/5): Pleasant - The biggest plus for this room was its location. It is right in the middle of the old town. Now, having visited, it would be easy to stay just outside of Ortega (right over the bridge) and walk to the old town, possibly allowing for easier parking and a bigger room/more options. I would call this renting a room in a shared space, not a B&B. Paola was attentive via WhatsApp, but I did not ever meet her in person. She opened all the doors remotely. This left me to bring my suitcases up and down two sets of slippery stone steps by myself. The room is located within another room, so you are sharing the one room with another guest, though you do have separate spaces/doors. The decor is eclectic and charming, if not a little cluttered, but not very practical. The tiny chairs at the table did not look strong enough to sit on. The room is located above a cafe and you can hear music from it at night as well as your neighbor coming into the room and in their room. It took a few hours for the AC to cool the room enough to sleep in June. You are given a voucher for the cafe for breakfast and allowed to pick a pastry and coffee.
- Wileman (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! The room and location was amazing and Paola is the most incredible host!
- M. (10/5): A throw back to another world. - Charming, authentic, vintage Zero
- Jacqueline (10/5): A beautiful place to stay in absolutely the best location in Ortigia, Syracuse! - We LOVED Il Salotto di Maria Pia! The rooms were nicely furnished and very quiet. The bathroom was modern and superb, loved the shower. The BEST part was that our room had a little balcony overlooking the Piazza Duomo (and I mean it was RIGHT on the piazza looking towards the cathedral that was built on the site of an Ancient Greek temple with columns still visible!) and there was a superb cafe for breakfast just outside the door. So the location was SUPERB. There is no traffic on the piazza either. Ortigia is very chill and quiet (definitely the best area to stay in Syracuse), and it was wonderful watching people wander by beneath our balcony. Our host Paola was very sweet and tried very hard to make sure everything was going well for us. She was very easy to stay in touch with via WhatsApp. Even though she was dealing with some family issues, she made sure to check in with us throughout our stay and made sure our room was tidied while we were out. Overall a great place to stay. Note this is not a hotel-type stay, but rooms in a building. Can't think of anything important. One note: I think it is important to make sure you let Paolo know your arrival time so she will be there to meet you.
- Steve (9/5): Superb - Paola, the host, was excellent. Communication was very easy, as was the check in.
You can't beat the location, it's in the heart of the island and close to everything. Our room had a view on the side of the cathedral, which was lovely in the evening to watch the world go by.
Paola gave us some great recommendations for aperitivo and for dinner, and she also arranged for parking in advance, which is a 'must have' in Ortigia. Nothing bad to say about our stay!
- Diane (4/5): Disappointing - Location was excelllent The tiny place was too cluttered with the host's furniture, low tables, a footstool serving as a side table, and a fabric shower screen that didn't feel very hygienic.
- Anand (8/5): Truly a remarkable location for this untraditional accommodation; lovely host - This property could not be located more centrally. It is perfectly situated in the heart of Ortigia (old core city of Siracusa) right in front of the piazza Minerva and a 5-7 min walk to just about anywhere. The entry to the B&B is on one of main walking streets and balcony overlooks all the action!! Just wonderful. It’s on the first floor and there’s no elevator but that’s not really a problem. We reserved two rooms - but there’s no common area to sit (in case you needed that).
Rooms are tight so travel light :) But we absolutely loved our stay. There Is no kitchen but you get a coupon per person daily for a coffee choice and a croissant or salty snack for breakfast just downstairs at Viola! Works!! Room is equipped with coffee, water bottle and mini fridge. Owner is happy to provide anything else and offers great restaurant and touring suggestions. Very friendly.
If you have a car, let the property owner know and they will reserve a slot at the local garage 150m away. Cars do come by the entrance, but the navigation will not work (takes you through no-entry streets) so best to navigate to the garage. One of the rooms we booked is pretty tight - at least the bed sides. Floors creak and other furniture (besides bed) needs updating - effort to preserve and perhaps restrictions on change but other apts seem to have been updated.
- Ann (10/5): Extremely charming place with great location and great host - Everything! Fantastic location, very charming room and balcony. Unique decor. Paola is the best host! I see other visitors are very happy with the view over the piazza. There was no room with view available for us, but the room facing the courtyard had a very nice and private balcony - perfect for a cup of coffee. Nothing! (But if you prefer a place that is more sleek and modern, then maybe you should probably look elsewhere.)
- Chris (10/5): Had a great stay - Location and room n/a
- Christine (3/5): This place has received enthusistic reviews but we found it uncomfortable to say the least - The view is great and the hosts are lovely people who are very sure that their accomodation is soulful. The place is not for everyone. If you like comforts, facilities, places to put things, tv, space, somewhere to sit, don't book this place. The photos don't convey how small the rooms are, how dark the ensuites are,and the fact that there is nowhere to put anything. the photos also dont show the fact that all public areas are filled with eccentric "artifacts"/junk
- Ryan (10/5): Authentic . Beautiful. Charming. - Ortigia was a delight! Made even more special by this charming b&b and it’s hosts Paolo & Marco, they made it feel like staying with family and friends rather than accommodation. Every little detail was thought of - Lavazza coffee, fresh water to thoughtful snacks! No TV! Just beautiful , quaint surroundings inside with an incredible view out onto the balcony. We are already planning our return.
- Gail (9/5): Lovely! - Location! The view was exceptional and the unique touches in furniture made it extra special.
- Rodney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikolaos (9/5): Superb - Location Very small room / no soundproof
- Kim (8/5): Great view from balcony - Paolo was a great host. Gave us lots of tips on great restaurants and helped out with parking just around the corner. Lovely decorated room overlooking the main square. Good size shower. Great location for walking the old town and restaurants. Size of the room a little on the small side for what we paid.
- Prashanth (10/5): Great location and stay - Great assistance checking in and recommendations for food and access to good beaches and most importantly parking !! The bed was very uncomfortable and noisy
- Anna (1/5): Bad - Paola was very understanding that we were not happy NOT what we were expecting from the pictures on the website!
Room was very dark and cluttered, musty smelling room.
We didn't stay !!!!
- Pip (10/5): Wow! What a view! - Location. Probably the prettiest view from a room in the whole city.
- Siobhan (5/5): Passable - good location not the most comfortable
- Shawn (9/5): Charming and quirky, great central location - Great location. Very helpful owners went out of their way to help us, particularly in finding a car park space. Quirky but charming building and decor Room had less natural light than in the pictures and was fairly small. Some of the pictures on the booking.com site are of a different room. Quite a lot of street noise, reflecting the position of the building.
- Peter (10/5): In the heart of the Town with nearby parking lots to see and do. Hosted were amazingly helpful. Gre - The location was fantastic right in the heart of the town. The apartment was very clean. Quirky furniture and very comfortable. Great shower. The hosts were amazing and couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. A table and comfortable chairs would have made it.
- Peter (8/5): A wonderfully located place to stay and explore Ortigia - Excellent location and ever so helpful Paola and Marco We usually prefer a larger room but for 2 nights we were very comfortable
- Raissa (7/5): Perfect location in the historical centre of Ortygia - Paola and Franco are extremely hospitable, friendly and helpful. The accommodation’s location is perfect , right in the centre of Ortygia! The room is well equipped but very small.. so it was a bit tight for us as a couple.
- Alex (10/5): Stunning quaint classic Italian room with amazing hosts - Paola and Marco are excellent hosts, they are very communicative and gave us lots of information about parking and their personal recommendations. The room is a perfect old Italian room with a beautiful view over the central square, the perfect location Not a thing
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Delightful, cosy room.
Centrally located. Our host was attentive and helpful with suggestions of activities, restaurants and bars.
Parking sorted for us by Paolo also which was appreciated. We enjoyed it all but it turned out when we arrived that I hadn’t booked breakfast but a voucher was provided for the cafe next door , which was perfect for us (coffee and a sweet or savoury pastry)
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oscar (10/5): Lovely room, superbly located and a fabulous host - Paola was a sensational host and went above and beyond on many levels, she helped us out with something and always had excellent recommendations. The room is perfectly located to explore Ortigia. Nothing
- Lucian (9/5): Apartament with charm ! - Very good choice. The apartament has charm and brings you into the city story . Worth to take !
Host is very communicative and kind .
The apartament is central but very silent.
- Evans (10/5): A wonderful stay in the heart of Ortigia - Amazing location and host super helpful! Nothing
- Robin (10/5): Unique rooms in the center of Ortigia - Paola was welcoming us with a cooled bottle of water and the best tips on where to eat in Ortigia. The room we booked was great, shabby-chic with lots of trinkets, making it feel quite unique. Especially the shower had a very cool look and great water pressure. It also has a nice breakfast place and the probably Sicily's greatest granita shop right next door.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Central location, authenticity and cleanliness.
- Melanie (10/5): Wonderful host , Paula , made my stay perfect. Beautiful room in lovely old building - Gorgeous room in the centre of Ortigia
- Philip (8/5): Well located property with friendly host - Location is excellent A little too small for a long stay although I was aware of the size beforehand.
- James (10/5): A lovely peaceful private residence and perfect place for “time out” in the heart of a busy old town; would not hesitat - Central location in old town facing beautiful open plaza with perfect view; classically unique decor; privacy; friendly helpful host
- Declan (10/5): Great. - Paola (the owner) is amazing. We had such a great time in Ortiga and the Il Salotto di Maria Pia is a brilliant place to stay. We will be coming back. Highly recommend.]
- Eranda (10/5): A truly unforgetable experience in Ortigia! - It was very warm and centrally located! Amazing view from pur balcony…
The host, Paola, was so friendly and she supported and guided us with tips and suggestions the whole time… we thoroughly recommend this place. There was nothing we did not like
about this place…
- Lynne (7/5): Not quite what we had expected. Great location but cluttered room. Not quite what was represented in the advertisement. - The location was great. Cluttered space. A little bit bohemian.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room in a perfect location. Paola was very kind and helpful.
- Godfried (10/5): Exceptional - The host was perfect
- Jackie (9/5): Fantastic - The most wonderful room with the most beautiful view.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved this guest house right next to the Cathedral. Room was cozy, clean and had a charming view of the plaza, Paola, the host, was gracious, very helpful and easy to communicate with. She helped us with dinner reservation and recommended a beautiful, fun boat trip. There were excellent coffee shops on the ground floor and across the alley for breakfast. Secure parking was available only 100 yards away. We highly recommend this fun and romantic place.
