• shyh kwong (9/5): Pleasant Stay with Helpful Host - The property is in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood, closer to the city bus terminal than the beaches. The room and shower were very clean and well maintained, and the common kitchen area was also tidy and complete, with a simple breakfast available if needed. The host spoke English well. He was very welcoming and went out of his way to introduce the city, explain bus routes, and recommend local food and places to visit. He even provided maps and restaurant lists, and suggested a spot where I managed to enjoy a lovely night view of cherry blossoms. Overall, a comfortable stay with great hospitality.

Maar hij zorgt.ook dat het ecologisch heel verantwoorde bedrijfsvoering is. En als je behoefte hebt om te discussiëren over cultuur, kunst , politiek, afvalscheiding, literatuur, hij is van alle markten thuis. Maar het een aangenaam plek die heel centraal ligt. La maison est typique et propre, vous avez accès à une salle conviviale et une cuisine propre et équipée. Nous avons beaucoup aimé cet endroit, on s’y sent très bien et presque comme chez soi !

Ce logement est central mais il faut prendre des bus pour accéder aux plages ou aux lieux d'intérêts. On conseille de rester à minima 2 nuits pour visiter correctement la ville et sa périphérie.
• CHIJIWA (10/5): オーナーの人柄が素晴らしい。絶対におすすめです。 - もと韓屋だったところをリノベーションしたそうで、とても住み心地が良い。オーナーが親切で、日本語、英語ができる。オーナーがこの建物を大切にしてるので、とても手入れが行き届いていた。セキュリティもしっかりしてるので安心です。部屋も台所もフリースペースも清潔です。「おもてなし」のこころで接してくれた。歩いて行ける範囲にグルメ、買い物、歴史的な施設などがある。これは、すべてオーナーが紹介してくれた。私は、33観音を回っているが、行くのに難しい法興寺(寧越)や、月精寺の行き方など、朝起きたら、台所のテーブルの上に調べてプリントしてくれていた。冷蔵庫には、水、ジュース、アイスティー、豆乳、パン、ジャム、卵など。ティーパック各種は、引き出しにあり、どれも飲み放題。オーナーが入れるコーヒーはとてもおいしかった。屋上から、近くの通りが見えて、とても癒されました。一番は、オーナーの人柄がよかったことです。また、絶対に行きます。 ありません。
• Sylvain (10/5): Séjour parfait à Gangneung ! - Soon est d’une très grande gentillesse et saura parfaitement vous conseiller des points d’intérêts dans la ville de Gangneung et même dans le reste de la Corée. Il parle bien anglais donc aucun soucis pour converser avec lui Les chambres sont de bonnes tailles et très bien équipées, et la guesthouse est très bien placée près du centre et non loin de la gare à pieds. Soon est très accueillant et partage les bons plans pour un séjour réussi. Son café maison est délicieux 😉 Lieu à proximité de la coulée verte qui mène à la coffee street en bord de mer (5 km pour les plus courageux), du marché et centre ville. Also I talked with the owner and he gave me a lot of recommendations for the area and we could also talk about various subjects concerning Korean history. He also helped me to plan the rest of my trip. The place was very clean and I spent two wonderful nights, leaving rested and full of knowledge. Thanks again for the warm welcome, and I can only recommend the place for any types of stay !

• Keri (10/5): Cosy guesthouse. We would gladly stay again! - My friend and I booked a last minute trip to Gangneung, and so we weren't really sure what to expect! Everything exceeded our expectations. The host was incredibly friendly and gave us so many good recommendations that we used on our trip. The common areas were free to use at any time, so it is extremely convenient to have breakfast when we were ready. There was always freshly brewed coffee in the morning, everything we might need to cook, and it was always extremely clean and well prepared. It was like a home away from home. You can tell that a lot of love and thought went into setting up the guest house. Everything from safety to comfort was considered. There's nothing I can think that could've been better! Nothing!

Location perfect as its close to main road for public transport, only 15 min walk from Gangneung Station (KTX & ITX Trains). Also, short distance (across main road) from an amazing market for food etc. Owner is an encyclopedia on local and national information. If he gives you advise about the area, take heed as he knows. Owner saved me time and money on forward travel and travel around Gangneung. Very interesting, enjoyable young man that has a lot of passion for the area. Really liked this place and it set the mood for my ongoing travels around South Korea. Yes, would return here in a heartbeat. Nothing.

• Lynn (10/5): Fantastic host. - A fantastic host, plenty of information provided on check in about what to do around the area. Very helpful, ordered a taxi for us on check out. Loved the little Halloween decorations around the garden. Was a little unsure if I’d be able to get off the futon in the morning, it was actually really comfy and my body managed to get up no problem. towels in the bathroom and hand towels only, this does appear to be the norm in guest houses. if you like something bigger, best to pack one to use.

• Katie (8/5): Amazing Guesthouse - The host is the star of the show in this guest house! He’s absolutely amazing and will make your stay so much easier. Gives heaps of advice on where to go in Gangneung, logistics and tips. The property kitchen is all set up and so clean, with eggs and bread for breakfast. As well as coffee (also provides soy milk if you’re plant based!) and orange juice - all included in your accommodation cost! Wi-Fi is great, no issues. Pretty close and easy to get to things in town, short trip on bus from the train station. Even though we had a wonderful trip to Gangneung and loved the host and kitchen, we wouldn’t stay here again purely because of the room. The beds are a futon style but as the floor is not tatami (or maybe just a different one to what we are used to?) it’s very hard and so our backs were absolutely shot after 3 nights stay. I think you would be fine for maximum 2 nights… but not more. There is not anywhere to sit in your room comfortably, and The bathroom also is very small and a wet room style, so we weren’t super comfortable. However, that was just a personal preference and I still 10/10 recommend staying if you’re passing through Gangneung for a short trip.

Exceptionally clean, and full of things we needed to feel at home. Great shower/wc! The host and his father were so welcoming and ready to help with information. Very considerate of their guests. I was blown away by their attentiveness. Absence of a chair or seat or two in the room. I get it though, that the traditional experience is no chairs.

Host was friendly and explained the use of facilities well, approachable to request for more amenities. Also introduced places of interest and popular food around the area. Good suggestions for transport wise to help navigate the area better. Slightly far from the train station (~20mins walk), hard to carry luggage while walking along the road.

This property is so close to the traditional market which is brimming with good smells and things to try. Probably the nicest I’ve seen in Korea. You can also get a bus quite easily to the lake and beach areas. You can even get a coach to and from Serokasan mountain if you leave early enough! It’s a clean, quite place where you can make a nice breakfast or relax after a day seeing Gangnueng. Nothing

• Jaak (5/5): A camping style of stay - The facility is located in a residential area, but was quite close to bus stops. The breakfast is basically self catering and cleaning - some bread, jam, coffee. The kitchen area is very clean and well organized. Bedroom was warm in the wintertime (it was -15 C outside), although a bit cramped. You have to leave your shoes outside (in cold room), but the manager offered some device for warming and drying shoes. The toilet & bathroom is one small room without heating. Its only heated when you leave the door open to bedroom. It seems there are also some plumbing issues that the manager complained to us (possibly the pipes are inadequate).

• Beom (10/5): 게스트 하우스 중 최고가 아닐까 싶습니다. - 숙소의 위치가 상당히 좋습니다. 우선 농협 하나로 마트가 도보 3분이면 있고, 그 건너편에 중앙시장 (현재 강릉성남시장)이 있습니다. 강릉역과도 멀지 않아 주말이용 KTX 타고 다녀오시기에도 좋습니다. 주차 공간이 조금 아쉬운 감이 있으나 크게 무리는 없다 생각이 듭니다. 저희는 온돌방? 바닥에서 이불 깔고 자는 방에서 잤는데 요가 두툼해서 허리 아픔 없이 잘 잤고, 결정적으로 개별 욕실이 있어서 씻고, 싸는 문제가 좋더군요. 주변 맛집 추천과 가볼만한 곳 정보도 잘 주시고, 사장님이 젊으셔서 이것저것 챙겨주시는 센스가 좋습니다. 숙소 가운데 작은 마당이 있는데 그곳에 앉아서 마시는 커피는 정말 최고가 아닌가 싶네요. 강릉 여행 다시 간다면 꼭 이용하고 싶은 곳 입니다.

• 의인의혼 (10/5): 강릉 시내에 위치한 주택식 게스트하우스 - 일반 주택을 리모델링 한 게스트하우스 아파트가 많지 않던 7~80년대 주택에서 살았던 어릴적 추억을 가진 사람들과 이층침대형 숙소를 꺼리는 사람들에게 추천 젊은 사장님이 많은 준비를 하고 구석구석 손을 보고 있는, 아직도 발전 예정인 숙소로 아주 청결함
• HYUNJUN (10/5): 조용한 게스트하우스로 강추입니다 - 깨끗하고 사장님도 친절하시고 하루였지만 편하게 묶고와서 기회가되면 다시한 번 이용하고 싶네요~~~
