• Dana (10/5): - Great place to stay. Great staff! Great breakfast! I spent 3 weeks total here from may to Sept. Great experience.
• Juan Carlos (2/5): - It is located in a small comercial plaza, that looks luxurious but ther is no people dining there. When you get in ther is a counter where no one greets you before the elevator, the lobby is located in a 3rd floor. During breakfast a very bored man tells you to sit wherever you want, and NO ONE EVER COMES TO YOUR TABLE, you go to a very bad buffet with a very dry spanish omelet, and dry rice and beans with asorted cheeses and hams, and thats it, and there are jams that have been there for hours and seemed unsafe. Worst Marriot experience ever.

The entire staff from the front desk to the bar and all around made me and my wife feel at home and relaxed. We are extremely satisfied and we’ll stay again!

• 429gerig (2/5): Noise! - Nightclub not a hotel! This hotel clearly values entertainment over offering a relaxing, enjoyable stay for their guests. The club near reception blasts music constantly (we’ve stayed several times) but this weekend was the final straw. Live music including drums and horns for over 3 hours so far! Two calls to front desk with no help. The band is encouraging the audience to scream along. It’s miserable knowing we are checking out at 5am for an early flight after recovering from an emergency surgery. The management clearly does not care.

• TippyToeTippyToe (10/5): Exceptional Hotel, Wonderful Experience - This AC Hotel in San Jose Escazu is the nicest AC property I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. From the moment I arrived, the hotel had a distinct luxury feel that set it apart from other AC Hotels I've visited. I love the decor, the vibe, the extensive breakfast and the bar. But what made this hotel truly stand out was the service. It was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Special mention to Dylcia who made us feel so well taken care of. Note it's part of a new shopping indoor/outdoor mall complex with many dining and shopping options. It felt like a refuge from the city.

The quality of the breakfast is very bad and the rooms had broken air conditioners. Don’t stay there. You will regret it. When you try to be reasonable and speak to a manager they will not help you

• gmora72 (6/5): Hidden fees - We checked in on a Wednesday and were told “you so fortunate your room is ready”, the receptionist proceeded to hand us our room key. It was 1:00pm. We were never told that there was a fee if we checked in before the allotted time. When I went to check out, I was charged a $25 fee. I was also charged for damaged facial towels. When all you have to do is wash them with bleach, like I do at home. Finally when we were leaving the room their was a small roach. We were so glad we were leaving.

• BrooklynGuy13 (10/5): Great visit in San Jose--top example of an AC Hotel - This was a top-notch example of an AC Hotel. Keep up the high quality! The staff was welcoming and terrific. This is conveniently located in San Jose. Parking is on site (though the entrance to the lot and the hotel itself are not easy to locate right away)--all worth it. Beautiful accommodations--especially with an upgrade. The view, location atmosphere and food all exceeded expectations!

• adolfos788 (6/5): Well located - Very nice hotel. Well located and employees are very friendly. It is taking forever to get a copy of my final bill with breakdown of charges emailed to me. Other than that, the room was modern and very clean. The food at restaurant is very good as well.

• carmeiris (4/5): Sinus infection - Developed a serious sinus infection after staying here. I Ask that the room A/C filter be changed and was informed that they didn’t have any filters available. Breakfast Buffet is $25 per person and not very good. Some of the fruit was spoiled. Do yourself a favor and go to a local soda. Customer service and house keeping are great and the only positive marks at this hotel. The Sheraton down the road is far superior for the price.

• FPAdventurer (8/5): Ideal for San Jose Visit - The location is great. The room was nicely decorated, new furniture, spacious and very clean. The staff is very polite and helpful. It has a nice bar with a great terrace. The room service menu is a bit limited. I think that out of most options this is the better hotel in San Jose today.

From front desk experience with Austin, who always knows our name and exudes positivity, to the attentive and warm service we get from Marlyn as we enjoy breakfast, this hotel has become an experience my wife insists upon EVERY time we visit San Jose! Clean, efficient, quiet, and centrally located for Escazu. It's a great base of operations for San Jose!

State of the art gym along with swanky rooftop and a la cart breakfast along with buffet. Shout out to Nicole , Paula and Austin for the warm hospitality we always receive.
• Lawrence (10/5): AC Escazu Hotel, high end but good value. - Very comfortable hotel, spacious and well appointed rooms and lobby. Great location, many high end shops close by. Fairly convenient to San Jose and the airport. Great display of vintage sports cars!
• Michal (2/5): - Paid thru Expedia. They asked for a credit card for incidentals. Gave them my Discover. Then later i went to the bar, tried to charge to the room, it was declined, but i used that same Discover to pay the bar bill. I asked the desk and they said, the card i gave for incidentals was only for room service. I checked out, they gave no receipt because i prepaid with Expedia. Then later that day, they charged $369 to that same Discover even thou i had already prepaid with Expedia. I drove back to the hotel and the man apoligized and blamed it on a colleague. Claimed he credited my card. Meanwhile that amount hold against my credit for 10 days
• RogerMonreal (6/5): Nice but open design in rooms is strange - Good points: great area with shops and restaurant, big TV in room with internet apps (youtube, netflix), comfy bed, helpful staff, Dinner is quite good. Bad points: Closet has no doors, the "open" design theme is weird, your stuff is just out there.... Shower is nice but really narrow, large adults keep hitting the courtain making a shower not enjoyable, bathroom sink is used as a divider in the "open" design which is really not good... imagine shaving or brushing teeth meanwhile someone else it sleeping 1 feet away..

Stayed for almost 2 weeks and it was lovely. The staff was unbelievably helpful, buffet breakfasts were delicious with lots of variety. Book direct with the hotel for best rates. LOVED it!
• davidgM5448QG (10/5): Top Quality Dog Friendly Hotel in San Jose, CR. - I booked this hotel through Marriott Bonvoy for a stay with my wife and our dog. At booking the cost included a $45 pet cleaning fee, which wasn’t unexpected. Before checking in I received an email from the hotel saying they didn’t charge extra for pets. I was skeptical, but the final bill didn’t include the fee. Awesome! This is an extremely nice hotel in an upscale shopping center with several restaurants, bars and a Starbucks. It also has its own great restaurant and bar along with a huge fitness room and super friendly staff. The breakfast looked and smelled spectacular but I didn’t get a chance to try it. Secure parking is important to me in CR, and this place seemed great. If you have a dog there’s a well manicured area very close by with grass and a cleanup station, which is shockingly rare compared to most supposedly dog friendly places I’ve stayed before. I will definitely stay there again the next time I’m in the San Jose area.
• NELSON (2/5): Untruthful - We bookd for 3 nights and unfortunately I had a severe medical condition with my heart and checked out after one night. It turns out left for Miami for heart surgery that same day. Hotels.com contacted the hotel for assistance and where rejected. I wrote to the hotel and they said that it was hotel.com that rejected the request which was not true . Irene Peters was not only not helpful, she was not sympathetic, blamed others such as hotels.com. Do not stay here. BTW the dinner that night was terrible

• DayTrip21715969539 (10/5): One of the nicest hotel in CR - Location of the hotel is amazing, newer and modern. Breakfast is nice not too heavy but so much choice to choose and everything is included for $15.00 but if you want something to be cook then it’s $22.00- for full breakfast but you don’t need to it’s plenty. Restaurant is nice atmosphere but food is okay . No pool , gym is not too big but it will done . Lobby is nice and one more thing is please vacuum the hallways time to time .

• Janbeau (8/5): Excellent hotel with a few quirks - Hotel is excellent and the location is great. However, there are a few things that need to be addressed. No closet or drawer space. There is an open rack in the bathroom where you can hang some clothes with a small drawer at the bottom. Nowhere to hang your towels. No towel racks or even hooks. There is a sign that says to throw your towels on the floor if you want them changed but to hang them up if you will reuse them———- NOWHERE to hang them. One huge issue for me that is not specific to this hotel is that the bathroom doors ar glass. Even though they are opaque the light still shines through. When I go to the bathroom at night I cannot turn on the light as I my wife will wake up and probably get a splitting headache. The breakfast is fabulous and the staff extremely friendly and courteous

Be aware that they only have few king bed options, and even if you book a bedroom with a king bed they will try to put you in a two queen bed room - it happened to me and 2 other couples in my group.
• Ruth (8/5): - Nice clean property. Definitely mostly for businessmen. A very stern and somber atmosphere. The bed was not very comfortable and linens and pillows were well worn out. The staff made a car reservation for our ride to the airport but the driver was 20 minutes late and it was a red taxi in super poor condition with no shocks. For the same price the hotel across the street got us a new private ride in a luxury vehicle that arrived on time. No service at breakfast but they requested a tip! Not sure why this hotel has the poorer options and services (both are Marriott properties), but we will stay across the street next time. Better vibe and better service.
