- Verified traveler (8/5): old school charm with few amenities - The hotel staff was excellent and very attentive which added to the charm of this hotel. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the views were wonderful. The downside was they only had a portable A/C which did not cool the room off at all and you couldn't leave it on when using the hair dryer. The beds were also not very comfortable.

Cleanliness is off the charts as is the service, really can’t ask for more. Quick walk to Yellow Kittens and Winfield’s but far enough away to avoid the noise. Already reserved for next year… this is the place, look no further. For the car guys - safe parking so you can bring your car without worry.

- Alexa (10/5): Magical/CLEAN/DREAM - Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had never been to Block Island but my fiancé has and told me just fyi all the inns are just older..etc. Coming into the inn it was so beautifully done, so much character every which way you turned, and the breakfast in the morning was so quaint like something out of a movie. The ROOM was incredible! We got the suite (room 9) the largest room they had and let me tell you it was LARGE! The room was so clean and the whole place smelled so clean (I am very OCD so I notice those things) but even my fiancé mentioned how clean it smelled there! The bed was insanely comfortable I can’t even begin to tell you. We have stayed a lot of places and this bed by far took the cake! I’ve never slept better! Whole place was magical and I would 100% return and stay at Payne’s again! **pics are blurry bc all I got was a video so I screenshot what I could.

- saranya (10/5): - This was my first visit to Block Island and this property was one of the highlights of the trip. It was cute, clean, had gorgeous views and staff was welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised at the morning breakfast and enjoyed it while I took in the view! I enjoy walking so a huge perk for me was the walks I could get in to go shopping and sightseeing. Taxis were quick though if that's not a preference.

We were able to leave our luggage before and after check out while we continue to bike and enjoy the island. Game changer. The facility was also close enough to bike from the ferry. I enjoyed my included breakfast while sitting in an Adirondack chair overlooking the bay. They also have Payne's Donuts right there so no having to hike down the road and wait in line.

Having beach towels and chairs available to us was a nice bonus. Breakfast was standard, though if I had to nitpick I wish they had some fresh fruit. The donuts were great.

The Inn is walkable to a few good places to eat and a very short driving or biking distance to the heart of town. The inn itself is very welcoming, with large porches on the front and back. Breakfast was tasty, with fresh muffins and Payne donuts.

Very nice breakfast gets you geared up to walk the short distance to the beach with guest house towels & chairs! Clean & pretty with gorgeous porches & fantastic views! Super !!!

Everything is within walking distance. But a bike is highly recommend to get to places fast so you can see more of the island. The donuts at breakfast are amazing. Homemade!!!!
