Guest Reviews
- Maggie (8/5): Very good -
- Raymond (9/5): Superb -
- Lyle (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (3/5): The photos were a bit misleading. - Close to town. Hot water. The facilities left a lot to be desired. The toiletries consisted of a half used bottle of hand wash & some other old bottles in the shower. No tea towels in kitchen, just a hand towel. No kitchen plug- dishes had to be washed in a tub. The cutlery, crockery & towels very old & poor quality. The glassware was a random selection of old glasses.
- James (7/5): A nice flat in a good location; great place for a stopover or a short stay to explore the area. - The flat is located close to Oban town centre, and while the street it's on isn't the most attractive (it's opposite a garage and a Jewson's outlet) it was quiet and all perfectly fine. And the flat is clean and comfortable with all the key amenities. The host was also really friendly and was able to offer a discount at one of the fish bars on the seafront. A mirror in the bathroom and some bedside lights in the bedroom would really improve things.
- Donna (3/5): Disappointing - It was in Oban centre
It was clean enough needs alot of TLC for the price we paid
- Odharnaith (7/5): Scotland trip from Ireland š®šŖ - Spacious flat, bedroom excellent.. Good kitchen facilities for longer stay.. External building door wedged ajar at all times, not secure and safe.. stairwell to flat low standard if cleanliness.. bunk bed wobbly
- Alexia (7/5): Good - Equipped with basic necessities, parking available outside apartment, Lidl & Tesco within walking distance, Obam town centre within walking distance as well Entrance to flat is horrible, 2 flights of stairs to reach apartment
- David (9/5): Brief but a guid laugh - Large and clean and well appointed
- Sharan (9/5): Superb -
- Sharan (9/5): Superb -
- Tewkesbury (8/5): The flat had everything we needed to make our stay in Oban a lovely one. - It is within easy walking distance of the sea front and town centre.
The flat is very nicely presented. The kitchen is nicer than mine at home!!! (Love the toaster!!)
The host is available to call if there are any problems (there weren't).
The beds are comfy.
Nice and quiet.
Lovely shower.
Tea, coffee and milk provided.
Everything in excellent working condition (nice big TV if you're staying in in the evenings)
Excellent wifi signal. The host has thought of everything and where possible, put that in place. However, the flat is not suitable for people with mobility issues as it is up several flights of stairs.
- Marekzzz (6/5): Very good if you want to visit Oban and you are looking for something basic for a good price. - The biggest advantage is the town it's located in. We were welcomed by a neighbour next door quite offensively asking about our nationality. My wife didn't feel very safe. We understand it is not the landlord's fault but it spoiled our stay slightly.
- Angeline (5/5): Passable -
- Alison (9/5): The flat was fabulous and had everything we needed!!! - Had everything we needed Nothing
- Francoise (9/5): Great flat! - Very handy for shops and town centre. The flat was very clean and welcoming. Nothing!
- Michelle (7/5): OK but could be superb with a bit of TLC - Central location, a lot of space for your money The initial first impression of this flat isnāt great thanks to a grotty stairwell. Despite being given a fob to open the communal front door, we never used it as the door was always propped open meaning anyone could come in and out. However, we had no feeling of being unsafe there but as a family there in the summer we were always home when it was light. I may have felt differently on my own in the winter.
The flat shows signs of being recently decorated with new carpets and new sockets and switches throughout, but it feels like the flat was partially renovated to bring it to modern standards, but some corners were cut along the way. It is all cosmetic so could be easily rectified and does not impact the comfort of the flat. However, there were ill fitting doors and holes in the modern kitchen and the fridge doors are not hung the same way as the integrated cupboard making it complicated to get into the fridge. The bathroom door wouldnāt close properly and the sink taps were a throwback to the 1960s, yet there was a new shower. The anaglypta wallpaper (although with a fresh coat of paint) was straight out of the 1980s. It is these little things that stop this flat from being excellent.
- NÄmec (9/5): Superb - Very nice apartment Nothing
- Siobhan (8/5): Very good -
- Joachim (1/5): Rude owner, shabby place - Closeness to centre The place is shabby and unkept. The place is listed that there are 2 sofa beds but they are bunk beds. The bathroom door doesn't close, the shower head is broken, the kitchen cupboards are sticky, The heating was not working and the temperature was 12 degrees Celsius! When I called the owner to inform him he told me it's summer you don't need heating! When I told him about the other things not working, he was cheeky and cut the line. He later offered me to exit the premises(through booking.com) instead of being decent and come and fix at least the heating. How can we find same day accommodation at 8pm!.
I had called him directly since he had sent me a message informing me that he prefers to fix things then reading bad reviews.
- Danny (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ana (9/5): Spacious and clean space - Spacious and as shown in pictures. The kitchen was fully equipped and the space was overall clean. The host was very accommodating when we got behind on check-out hours. Bunk beds were very unstable, although confortable.
- GrƔinne (8/5): Clean and comfy stay in Oban - All important information communicated by host right after booking. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable flat. Free parking on the street just outside and the flat is right beside a petrol station and a Lidl. Very convenient for our stay exploring Scotland's west coast. Entrance to building and stairway is a bit unwelcoming but that isn't a problem as soon as you enter the clean, well kept and nicely decorated flat. Sound did travel easily from the stairway and neighbouring apartments.
- Sharman (10/5): Exceptional - Property was very clean, very spacious, well equipped. Great location for shops, town centre and beach area. Easy parking.
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional - Host was great. We had one very minor issue and it was fixed right away. Location also great - grocery stores very close and town centre an easy 10 minute walk.
- Lynn (8/5): Nice wee place - How close it was to the main attractions. Rooms comfy. Great information beforehand. Felt the rooms could do with some TLC
- Joanne (9/5): Superb - the property was so central to everything
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant - The owner was very kind to bring us more blankets as we found the apartment cold at night. The location is close to the shops and walking distance to the main town. There was always street parking available. The building itself is quite run down. Not much the owners can do about it. Not a good outlook.
- Philip (7/5): fine: did āthe jobā well and much much cheaper than nearby Premier Inn - facilities fine: good value for money decoration could be more contemporary
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent and enjoyable stay! - well positioned and well equipped cleaning inside kitchen cupboards would be good
- Martin (10/5): Oban Town Centre flat - recommended - Nice clean comfortable apartment in good location, near to local services and supermarkets. Quiet overnight. Owners helpful in accommodating my needs (bike touring so needed to bring the bike into the flat overnight). The flat was on the top floor up four flights of stairs which was an effort with the bike but manageable. Forewarned by the owners which was helpful.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely town centre flat.š
- Pamela (6/5): Pleasant - Apartment very cold at the arrived and with strong smell of smoke. We tried to contact owner for question about heating but we didn't receive any answer at all.
After 2 days we left the property the owner phoned me and message me saying I broke a chair and I needed to repay it. I had to make him realise that I wasn't the night before in the property and he was making mistake with reservations.
Not the best experience!
OK for 1 night
- Rebecca (7/5): Great value for money, centrally located. - Apartment was good value for money. Clean with what we needed for an overnight stay.
- Raluca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Skye (10/5): Handy to town. Nice comfy flat. - Nice clean flat. Handy to town.
Clear instructions from owner.
Would stay again šš Nothing
- Thomas (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kathleen (8/5): Had a lovely break enjoying the wonderful scenery excellent area for ramblers etc - Loved the location very close to centre with added bonus of a Lidl store almost on the doorstep.access to ferry terminal excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the tours on offer.Would happily recommend the flat ,and I would most definitely return
- Julia (6/5): Pleasant - Easy to locate property and lots of space We had issues with the carbon monoxide detector as batteries were dead so was beeping all night as needed replaced. Tried to contacting both contact numbers listed and did not get any response (could see both messages were read as Whatsapp and no calls answered). Was only 11pm, but no response the next day either. Disappointing that contacts for property listed as night time ones did nothing to assist and we had to deal with a beeping noise all night
- David (1/5): This property should not be for holiday let .did not stay and weekend ruined .Full refund required . - I did not stay at the place it was not a town center location .it is an excouncil flat up a close on the top floor .the close was discusting very dirty
My partner was so upset she was crying and we did not stay there .our weekend was ruined . And iam wanting a full refund .please phone or email regards this matter . David 07793847765 email dvfor2010@outlook.com. would prefer a phone call .I can not belive this properly is on you list of rentals .the close is absolutely biscusting very dirty . Location not town center .did not state top flat excouncil property in a disgusting dirty close .
- Kirsty (4/5): Ok for the money. - It was close to where we wanted to be. Kitchen was well equipped. The heating was good. The place was warm. Bedroom was nice. The fireplace should have been boxed up properly or made to look better if you donāt want it boxed up. Bathroom isnāt the nicest either. Windows were disgustingly dirty- you could barely see out of them.
- Neil (4/5): Only there for one night, so the flat did it's job, but wouldn't book again. - Kitchen and bathroom bodged.
- Martin (6/5): good location and apartment let down by the general state of the building - handy location, washing machine especially useful as on a touring trip outside and communal areas of building very tired
- Angela (5/5): The property was pretty basic. Little effort given to decor although clean throughout. -
- Barbara (8/5): All good - comfortable and details like coffee and chocolate the doble bed was noisy and the neighbors
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Cameron (4/5): An okay value for money near the city center, but I would pay more for something nicer - Location is very close to Oban city center and the waterfront, a short walk down a (busy) street. The unit is spacious and on the top floor of the building. We appreciated having free street parking immediately in front. The unit had all the amenities we needed, including a clothes dryer, which is very rare (and helpful on a damp, rainy day). Not in a picturesque part of town and overlooks a petrol station and a building supply yard. The building and flat are pretty run-down. While the kitchen and bathroom appear to have been recently remodeled, the rest of the flat needs attention. The place smells musty. The floor is in such poor shape that it's almost a tripping hazard; instead of dealing with it, a carpet has been put down to hide it. Walls and ceilings have simply been painted white rather than repaired. A few minimal attempts have been made to decorate the flat, but larger investments need to be made into refurbishing it.
