• Oliver (9/5): - I Had a lovely stay at the Picturebook Guesthouse. The staff were wonderful and friendly, the room was very comfortable and the gardens were well maintained and beautiful. I really appreciated having my breakfast cooked every morning. My only complaint would be that the wifi is a little patchy and poor. Sat out on my balcony to take calls several times as it had the better connection compared to inside my room!
• Simon (7/5): An interesting new experience ! - Delightfully quiet location with easy parking arrangement. The buildings, (striking me initially as a cross between a prison and an army barracks), were set in a lovely tropical garden where we had a good breakfast. The room was OK albeit that the arrangement of power outlets and light switches was a bit strange. The bathroom was adequate but somewhat lacking in maintenance and repair. As so often happens in hotels and guest houses the shower handset doesn't match the installed shower heater and water pressure. Something the management might look into.
• Reuben (10/5): Beautiful oasis in Mae Sot - Wonderful guesthouse in Mae Sot. We stayed for 2 weeks here and had a lovely time, in such a beautiful place. The rooms were super comfortable and the bathroom was great with good shower. The breakfast each day was delicious and freshly made. The staff were so kind and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here! Nothing bad at all!
• Victoria (10/5): Stylisches Boutique Hotel im Grünen - Es ist wirklich eine kleine Oase! Die Mitarbeitenden sind so herzlich, man fühlt sich gleich wie zu Hause. Alles ist grün bepflanzt und sehr stylisch Designer! Wir hatten das beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in ganz Südostasien. Ich wäre so gerne länger geblieben. Aufgrund der Hitze hat die Klimaanlage länger gebraucht, um das Zimmer abzukühlen. Aber so ist das in der heißen Saison, dafür kann das Hotel nichts!

• Prune (10/5): - J'ai absolument tout aimé ! L'ambiance est chaleureuse, le petit jardin où on mange un excellent petit-déjeuner préparé à la demande et rapidement est adorable. La chambre est magnifique, supers agencement et décoration. Lit très confortable. On s'y sent bien. Le personnel est bienveillant, compétent et serviable. Le rapport qualité-prix est excellent. L'endroit est calme. Et à l'accueil vous pouvez acheter des petits cadeaux qui soutiennent des organisations locales. J'ai pris de superbes cartes postales à l'aquarelle faites par des enfants pour soutenir l'art thérapie. Je recommande à 100 % ! Rien du tout

• Oddny (10/5): A lovely hotel with lovely people and a beautiful garden. - This is one of my favorite places to stay. I love the fact that it is a social enterprise. I love seeing how eager the staff is to serve and go beyond expectations to make the guests feel welcome and comfortable. Add to that the beautiful garden with tall trees and birds singing. On top of all that, the rooms are very classy. Modern design and classy design. There is nothing to not like about the place.

Das Gästehaus wird von jungen Thailändern mit viel Liebe geführt und dient nicht nur als Unterkunft, sondern auch als Ausbildungsstätte für junge Menschen. Die Ausstattung und der Komfort können sich wirklich sehen lassen. Fahrräder stehen zur freien Nutzung bereit und das Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet. Alles in allem eine absolute Empfehlung!

It's mission to help train refugees makes staying there not only enjoyable but a stay with purpose. Breakfast and coffee suited most tastes and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and sweet.

Everything there, what I needed, it was really nice, quiet, clean, good bed and room - I had 3 nights of very good sleep 😁 and could easily explore Mae Sot and surroundings. A big THANK YOU to the staff and management for the extremly helpful service! Without you I would have missed my flight, as the preordered taxi did not show up 👍

• Daniel (9/5): Excellent guesthouse in an interesting town - Friendly staff and a nice location, tucked away from the main roads. The hotel helps to train people and supports local groups so you can feel like your stay is making a difference, too. Mae Sot has a surprising range of restaurants and cafes - lots of delicious food for cheap. I'd suggest taking one of the guest house's bikes out for a few hours to explore the back streets and the canals (some stretches of which you can walk along, such as behind Picturebook). The breakfast was also tasty and they have a coffee bar. Mae Sot is mostly off the tourist track, for those who want something different. The bed was very firm, which affected my first night's sleep, but I slept soundly the second night.

• Cat (10/5): Eine grüne ruhige Oase in Mae Sot - Die Anlage ist inmitten von Mae Sot eine kleine ruhige Insel mit einem wunderbar grünen Garten. Während heissen Tagen ideal um im Schatten zu relaxen. Die einstöckigen Gebäude sind um diesen Garten angelegt. Die Zimmer sind einfach komfortabel und sehr sauber. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl und kann sich von den Reisestrapazen bestens erholen. Diese Unternehmung ist ein soziales Projekt und die Angestellten jungen Menschen erlernen die Grundlagen des Hotelgeschäfts auf allen Stufen. Wenn Mae Sot dann Picturebook Guesthouse.

• Kevin (10/5): It was great and I enthusiastically recommend it :) - Employees were friendly and more than helpful. Reception told me I probably couldn't get a Grab taxi to the bus station in the early morning and booked me a cab. They're also very creative: Looks like every room has its own theme (mine was "Once upon a room") if that's your thing... I liked it, it adds a personal touch. Plus I liked the balcony, colored glass windows. All very tasteful. The rooms are also very well-appointed from a functional point of view. It's in a poured concrete building, probably a few decades old and very sturdy. They had a fridge, plenty of outlets, good wifi, everything you'd need for the shower, plus some extras like an umbrella hanging outside the door, a hair dryer, and interesting books on the shelf (for example, a Lonely Planet guide to Myanmar in Spanish on mine, which I enjoyed looking through.) Only thing I noticed: There was no kettle or iron in the room, which may have been for safety reasons (?), but I didn't need them while I was staying so I didn't ask. Note: Unlike almost every other SE Asian hotel I've stayed in, you don't use your key card to keep the power on in your room. So you have to turn everything off when you leave, and there's a note reminding you. That may be a pro for some people (e.g. if you want the fridge to stay on when you're out of the room). Personally I could take it or leave it. Can't think of anything :) It was just about perfect.

• Terry (10/5): - The guesthouse is tucked away off the main road, It is quiet with a garden like atmosphere. They have bikes you can use of if you like walking, Robinson Mall is a fifteen-minute walk. Local food is five minutes away. All staff is very friendly and they serve a delicious breakfast. I have stayed there two years in a row and consider it a second home while in Mae Sot.

• Andrew (9/5): Secluded garden-facing guesthouse with friendly staff and new facilities - Main highlight is the peaceful central garden, which gives the guesthouse a very secluded feeling. The staff were also super helpful and nice. The bed was comfortable and softer than usual mattresses in SE Asia. The overall quality of the rooms is high, and tastefully designed/decorated. AC was good. Lots of great suggestions for places to eat and things to do in the town and surrounds. The mostly continental style breakfast was simple but well appreciated. The room could benefit from a bedside lamp. Unfortunately the yoga instructor no longer works here, so I was unable to attend any classes. Price is slightly higher than average for the area, but it's appropriate given the good quality.
• Jiraporn (9/5): Superb - I always stays at Picturebook guesthouse when I go to Mae Sot. I like their concept of social enterprise. The staffs are always nice and helpful. They allow you to check in before time if the room is available. The area is well-kept and green. Each room has its own themes. The hotel provides bikes that you can borrow for riding around city center. This time I stayed the hotel was fully booked by a group of 20 young people. This makes the breakfast and common area are crowded. One night, they did party with music on pretty loud and smoking which is not considerable to other guests. This is the first time I experienced this at PBG for the past 10 years I went to stay. Staff apologise for a loud noise and stopped the party after 22.00.

Minimal style, with polished concrete walls and floor. oak-colored wooden, and a touch of color from the blue, green, and yellow glass-paneled bathroom and balcony doors. The bed was so comfortable. Every morning, I'd make my morning coffee and this really sapcious balcony with a great, natural view over the resort. i didn't have the breakfasts so I can't comment on that. But there was nothing I didn't like.

• K (8/5): Definitely going back there but with a smaller car. - Here there is a multi-lingual staff who is very attentive and knowledgeable, even though he is not a local, nor a Thai. Other staff were also with high service-mind. A receptionist was also the technician. He fixes things fast without the need to wait for the Maintenance people. Parking spaces are very narrow.

And the staff are good at service and lovely smile. Overall is good but let me highlight some points. I didn't see a hairdryer in the room which is good to have item especially if I wash my hair during wintry weather.

TV not set up in room. Staff couldn't explain where to get the songthaew to visit the border (Songthaws leave from the junction of Chid-Lom and Buakhoon roads, cost 30B and take about 10 minutes plus waiting time. You are dropped off at the Friendship Bridge). More tables and chairs needed out the front in the social area. Told motorbike rental was 300B for a day but asked for 400B (I only paid 300B). I would stay again.
