Guest Reviews
- Peter (2/5): Pet friendly on paper but not in reality - It wasn’t obvious where the car park was from the hotel. On arrival we had to ask a member of staff how to get there and were told to travel up the road and double back in ourselves. We got there in the end but I didn’t see any signs from the street As a pet friendly hotel we came down to the restaurant with my little Yorkie and before we even had a chance to settle in the bar staff yelled at us to take the dog out of the restaurant area. There were no signs telling us dogs weren’t permitted and it felt humiliating and belittling. We left and got food elsewhere
- Shaun (10/5): Great value, pet friendly, lovely room, spotlessly clean and a great central location. Recommended! - I stayed at the White Hart in Caistor for two nights while having some work done to my car nearby. The room was lovely, well equipped with a large bed, small dining area and kitchenette with a lovely bathroom Large screen television and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a microwave. The staff at the White Hart are lovely and he rooms and pub are pet friendly, essential for me as I travel with my mini poodle Eric. I would definitely stay at the White Hart again and would recommend it to anybody as a lovely place to stay, clean and friendly. You won't go wrong. No issues whatsoever.

- John (10/5): - Nice people and comfortable stay. Everything was good.
- Declan (10/5): Comfortable room with extra large bed. - It was very quiet for a pub stay, although it would be unrealistic to expect a pub to be like an old fashioned library. The room was almost a self-contained flat and the staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my short stay and hopefully will stay longer in the future.
- Bunney (7/5): Very reasonable - Clean sheets and a big shower.. Not the hotels fault but the people in the room next door were very inconsiderate. There television and them may as well of been in my room as there were so noisy until 11.45...then his snoring was ridiculously loud and kept me awake ...not a great night's sleep all round..!!
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- cath Aitken (8/5): - Local to who we were visiting
- John (5/5): -
- Paul (5/5): - Clean, good food in the pub, friendly staff. Music and singing until 1.30am so kept as all awake, could hear room next door with man snoring all night so not a relaxing stay.

- Katie (8/5): -
- Erlend (10/5): - Big room with a high standard and good facilities including a fridge, microwave and sink. Really lovely staff and a cosy pub with excellent food to a reasonable price. The noise from the pub did not travel up to our room just above. There was only one cup and one plate there and they were not very well cleaned so we decided not to use them. Bed was a bit hard, but managed to sleep well nevertheless.
- Joanne (9/5): -
- Derek (5/5): Very lively small public area ok if you like to shout to be heard whilst having a conversation. - Large warm room No cups had to ask for some. Half empty shower gel from previous guests. Crumpled duvet cover and sheet inside out and flat pillows. Poorly cleaned shower screen and smell of drain in bathroom at least water flowed away better this time. Shower head still taped to rail to hold in place. Outside table and chairs dirty set in plenty of weeds. No food Sunday other than lunch. Lack of written notes in room.
- peter (8/5): Pleasant pub in Caistor, a pretty small Wolds town - Pleasant, good size room. Very quiet. Comfortable bed and good shower. Good size tv. Nothing evening meal and no breakfast offered so at over £100 for the night the room was pricey.
- JOHN (9/5): - Good size room. Fridge and microwave in room. Big comfy bed. Large shower with heated towel rail.
Quiet couldn't hear the pub below.
Friendly villagers Needed more crockery and cutlery

- Lucy (8/5): Would stay again, lovely town and great room (apart from the fire exit light) - Comfy bed, warm room, clean Could have done without the massive green light (fire exit sign)
- Anthony (10/5): Fantastic Room at a Brilliant Price - Didn’t have breakfast but the large room had a Superking Bed, a Large Wall Mounted Smart TV, Kettle, Microwave, and Fridge, plus a small dining table that allowed travellers to bring their own food. The room was Spotless and furnished to a high Standard with dimmable down lighters a bedside wall light plus an LED flexible reading light each. The Bathroom consisted of Toilet, Sink, a Large walk in Shower, and Chrome Towel Rail.
The Room was lovely and warm and controlled by a Thermostat on the wall. Overall there was nothing negative at all.
- Andrea (10/5): Lovely place to stay and a good price - The bar staff were lovely and the room was great, the village was pretty and it was within a great distance of Moortown which was our intended destination. We would definitely stay there again 😍 There was nothing we didn't like.. the room had a super kingsize bed which gave us a great nights sleep, a kitchenette with kettle, microwave a mini fridge along with cutlery and dinnerware for 2, 2 seat dining table and chairs and a little balcony.. it was great! 😍
- Michelle (8/5): An excellent place to stay. Great value for money. - This room was excellent value for money. Check in was easy and staff very friendly. There was a microwave and kettle. Room was nice and warm. Some people may prefer the bedding ironed. This didn’t bother us as it was clean. Pillows while nice feather ones were a little flat.
- richard (10/5): Great value, great comfort - A great value venue, great service and comfort for the price point. A regular venue I stay at and for good reason.
- Imogen (8/5): Affordable and great spacious rooms - Great location and spacious rooms Above a pub so there was a juke box on quite late
- Paul (8/5): Great if on a budget - Price Location value value for money No breakfast was available
- Spencer (10/5): - I didn't catch the name of the guy running the bar (and everything) when I arrived. He couldn't have been more helpful and was great to talk to. He and some locals were very helpful in finding me some GF food at one of the local fish and chip shops. Room great. Thoroughly enjoyed my short stay. Other member of staff very pleasant too

- Gordon (9/5): - Spotlessly clean and great value.

- Peter (6/5): A reasonable deal for the price. - A very good price and a central location to a small town. Free on site parking. The room was a bit dated and not allowed to check in till 1545. Could do with some USB sockets.
- Derek (8/5): Despite minor hiccups would recommend for comfortable warm stay. - Lovely spacious room with kitchen area, well decorated and comfortable bed and pillows. Nice bathroom with excellent shower and towels. Large car park and room was lovely and warm with temperature you could control. No note of our booking in diary. Not informed they no longer do meals on a Monday and Tuesday as chef left two weeks ago. Rooms not ready on arrival as cleaner on holiday but host rallied and soon supplied toiletries and additional tea, coffee, milk etc. key fob didn’t work on returning so locked out of room as no one around when pub is closed so had to go out again.
- Kelly (7/5): Such good value for money, don’t expect the Ritz but had everything you need for a comfortable stay and the staff super - Super friendly and helpful staff
- Julia (10/5): Very convenient and cosy with all conveniences required - Just absolutely fine nothing -all fine
- Jane (7/5): Bargain stay & lovely staff. Would definitely return! - We booked a 3 night midweek winter stay and we bagged an absolute bargain at £148.00 for 3 nights in a lovely homely pub.
We were offered Room 1 which was a step up from
basic but not plush, a good size room facing the rear and very quiet and lovely and warm. A super king bed with 2 separate mattresses was not luxury but none the less was surprisingly comfortable. Great power shower & hairdryer on request. The room was generally clean and we had a very happy & relaxed comfortable stay.
The staff, James & the girls were delightful and very accommodating. The real ales are excellent and very well kept.
The room had the bonus of a table & 2 chairs to dine with a mini kitchen setup, sink, microwave, fridge, plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery so twice we ate in with a ready meal from the coop and a takeaway Chinese which was a great option! The pub provides food Wednesday to Sunday if required. Breakfast would have been a nice option. However, the Visitor Centre / Library Cafe down the hill does the best breakfast in Caistor at £8.95 each!
Small gripes & constructive feedback:
Not enough loo roll provided. Had to ask & only provided with one roll for 3 night stay.
The cleanliness was acceptable and not dirty by any means, although there was mouldy sealant in the bottom of the shower. A little more attention to detail/cleanliness would have been nice. There was a stain on the shelf inside the bathroom basin cabinet and we had a door leading to an outside elevated terrace with table and chairs which were, along with the terrace covered in pigeon poo and green algae so needed a pressure wash / clean & therefore unusable. (Although it was winter and rainy for the duration of our stay on a nice day it would have been nice to sit outside so granted, not as usable as in summer!)
- Denise (9/5): All in all - GREAT ! - Location was great. Attended Caistor for a family funeral and it was in the centre of town which was perfect for us. Parking was great as were the facilities. If you haven't been to Caistor previously be aware that there are a few hills there! Gorgeous little traditional sweet shop there too - Sweetie Belles is definitely worth a look. Breakfast was not served but there was a cafe nearby which did an excellent choice of food.
I didn't find a full length mirror in the room!
- RICHARD (9/5): - Nice sized room town centre .
- richard (10/5): Characterful and great value - A truly wonderful pub in a charming Lincolnshire wolds location, offering great accommodation and tasty home cooked food. Definitely becoming one of my favourite stays.
A credit to James and the team. Use of single use plastics.
- Judith (9/5): -
- richard (10/5): Excellent - Clean, comfortable, cozy and enjoyable. Single use Plastics such as shampoo and milk.
- richard (10/5): Splendid stay - Friendly staff, cosy and comfortable room with microwave & kettle and basic cutlery. Excellent power shower. Soft liner & towels. Excellent value for money with the convenience of the pub below for food and drinks. Less single use plastics / items like shower items & milk packs etc.
- Graham (8/5): The stay was comfortable with good facilities and we would consider booking the White Hart again. - There was no breakfast but the catering facilities were sufficient.
The room was very comfortable and the value was outstanding. I cannot think of possible improvements.
- Simon (1/5): Total disaster - Nothing No heating, no chef, no breakfast
- alan (10/5): Good food and peaceful location - Clean and welcoming
- David (10/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): - We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas, our room was spacious warm and clean. The bed was large and comfortable. Very close to relatives that we were visiting. On site parking useful. It was noisy until the pub closed, however we didnt expect anything else really with it being a pub at Christmas time.
- Karsten (10/5): Nice little friendly place, clean and cosy - The staff were very welcoming and even the local drinkers were very friendly and polite.
The large shower room was lovely and the idea of a little kitchenette in the room is a nice touch There wasn’t anything I didn’t like as such but a breakfast would have added to the stay.
- richard (10/5): Great value & cosy. - Room size, comfort, value for money, car parking.
- richard (10/5): A diamond package - A wonderful little gem, a vibrant pub with a wonderful community feel and atmosphere and great value and quality food and drinks and cosy rooms that are a great size and well equipped.
A most wonderful stay and a shout out to Willow, who is exceptional and goes above and beyond.
- David (8/5): - Was friendly and welcoming No evening meal or breakfast, and still waiting for an invoice
- H-S (9/5): White Hart, Caistor. Stay here! - Lovely small town pub, great staff, good food and lovely local beer Nothing
- Keeley (8/5): - Lovely rooms
Lovely pub food and cosy bar
- John (9/5): - Friendly welcome, great food in the bar, short distance to room, clean (refurbished?) room with all facilities including iron and ironing board. Loved it all, but a long mirror in the room would be useful.
- Lee (8/5): -
- Geoffrey (9/5): - Good stay
- Diane (8/5): Very good - Staff friendly and very helpful. I would recommend.
- Diane (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (5/5): The location was good and accommodation was very acceptable, but the lack of breakfast was poor. - We incorrectly presumed that breakfast was included. Instead there was no breakfast on offer Lack of breakfast
- Jeff (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (7/5): Good - Friendly staff excellent roon No milk for tea/coffee making ,no breakfast available
- Phil (9/5): Superb - One of the best rooms I've stayed in while working away from home.
Good friendly staff and great food.
- Charles (9/5): Superb - Good size room that would be perfect for a longer stay as it has a kitchen sink and microwave. Large shower.
- Vicky (8/5): Clean and spacious room and facilities. - Perfect room and spotlessly clean. No one available at check out and we were hesitant to just leave the key on the bar although in the end we had to leave and had no choice.
- Mike (10/5): Very comfortable, warm, good facilities, very helpful staff, and evening meal in the pub was good value. - Loverly room. Very contemporary. A really nice large bathroom.
Very good value evening meal.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Baart (9/5): Superb -
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (9/5): Lovely pub in Caistor. - A lovely little pub in the centre of Caistor. The room was really nice, with the convenience of a microwave and fridge. It was ideal for our overnight stay and I would certainly recommend.
- Liz (6/5): OK for a brief stay, but make your own plans for breakfast! - Friendly staff and locals (very much a locals pub). No breakfast available at the White Hart. And in the town centre, the bakery and cafe didn't open until 8.00 and the cafe only took cash. Shower head broken so had to stoop to get under the water. Evening food OK but several choices unavailable.
